The question I am asked about multi-brand floors is almost never about the fragrance. It is about whether each brand section should get its own - and the answer is decided by air, not by branding, because air does not know where your fixtures end.
Quick answers — read this first
Should each brand section have its own fragrance? No. Brand sections are display zones inside one volume of air, not rooms, and two fragrances released into one volume do not stay where you put them. They meet somewhere around the middle of the aisle and make a third smell that nobody specified, nobody approved and nobody can control. The customer walking that aisle experiences the muddle, not the intention. One signature, released once, is the only version of this that actually works on a shop floor.
Whose fragrance should it be, then? Yours. You are the host and the brands you carry are your guests - the interior is yours, the lighting is yours, the service is yours, and the air belongs with them. A guest brand's own scent identity belongs in its own monobrand boutique, where it controls the whole room. In your store it would be one voice competing with four others in a space you designed. The retailer signature is the coherent answer, and it is also the one you can still be running in three years when the brand mix has changed.
What does it cost for a floor this size? A multi-brand showroom is usually 1,500-3,000 sq ft, which is SOSA Vaayu territory at ₹11,999 - one machine, on the main air path, at a low setting. Total hardware spend: ₹11,999, one machine. A second unit belongs to a second volume of air - a separate floor, a closed lounge, its own AC zone - and never to a second corner of the same showroom. And no one can promise you that ambient scent moves a business number; a supplier who quotes you one is selling.
The short answer
Short answer: one fragrance for the whole store, and it should be the retailer's rather than one per brand section. Dry woods with a leather facet or a soft dry amber, at a low setting. Brand sections share one volume of air, so per-section fragrances meet in the aisle and make a third smell nobody chose. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers a 1,500-3,000 sq ft floor.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) on the main showroom air path at a low setting, carrying a single retailer signature across every brand section.
Next step: send the floor plan with the brand sections, the entrance and any private lounge marked, and we will tell you where the one machine goes and what setting to start at - Ask for a retail scenting plan.
The multi-brand question looks like a branding question and is really an airflow question. Once you accept that sections share air, the rest of the plan writes itself.
What fragrance suits a luxury multi-brand watch store, and should each brand have its own?
One fragrance, yours, everywhere on the floor. I want to deal with the second half of that first, because the per-brand idea is the one that costs people money. It is an attractive idea: five brand sections, five identities, five little pockets of air each speaking in its own accent. It does not survive contact with a showroom, for a reason that has nothing to do with taste. Brand sections are display zones inside one volume of air, not rooms. They are marked out with fixtures, flooring, lighting temperature and signage, none of which stop air moving. Your air conditioning is actively mixing that volume all day. So two fragrances released into it do not stay where you put them - they meet somewhere around the middle of the aisle and produce a third accord that nobody specified and nobody approved, and the customer walking between two sections gets the muddle rather than either intention. The only place a per-section plan works is where the sections are genuinely separate volumes: a closed brand room with its own door and its own AC zone, which almost no Indian multi-brand store actually has. Now the first half. The signature should be the retailer's, and the reason is simpler than the physics. You are the host; the brands you carry are your guests. The floor is yours, the interiors are yours, the advisor's opening line is yours, and the air sits with all of those. A maison's own scent identity, where it has one, belongs in its own monobrand boutique where it controls the whole room; borrowed into your store it becomes one voice competing with four others in a building you designed. There is a practical argument too, and it is the one that usually lands: your brand mix will change. Distribution agreements come and go, sections get rebuilt, a wall moves. A retailer signature survives all of that. A fragrance chosen to flatter one section becomes a slightly awkward inheritance the day that section changes hands. On register, the multi-brand floor wants the standard luxury-watch brief and possibly a shade more restraint than a single-brand room: dry woods - cedar, vetiver, cypress - with a leather facet, or a soft dry amber, and nothing sweet, edible, powdery or floral. It has to sit comfortably under every section rather than flatter one, which means neutral in the good sense: recognisable, quiet, unfussy. Hardware last. A floor of 1,500-3,000 sq ft is one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, on the main air path, low, on a timer matched to trading hours, behind its key-lock. It is waterless, so the machine adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces - a fact about the machine, not a claim about the stock, which is a matter for the brands you carry and their watchmakers. Ambient scent here is a presentation decision like lighting or case spacing, never a way of covering another smell, and it will not do what a scent-marketing pitch told you it does. Ask for a retail scenting plan and send the floor plan.
One retailer signature for the whole floor, never one per brand section - sections share air and meet in the aisle. Dry woods, low setting, one Vaayu at ₹11,999.
For a multi-brand floor of 1,500-3,000 sq ft the machine is one SOSA Vaayu - waterless, rated to 1000m³, under 38dB, with adjustable intensity and a key-lock that stops any one section acquiring its own setting. ₹11,999, one machine, one signature.
One machine covers almost every multi-brand showroom in the country, and the cheaper answer only applies if your floor is much smaller than this discussion assumes. The images link to the product pages so you can check the specifications before ordering.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, auto-stop and key-lock. Wall or HVAC mountable, which is how one release point reaches every section instead of one section getting more than the rest.
Ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft, supplied with three 15ml fragrances. A small multi-brand room with two or three sections is a Sukoon at ₹1,899, and a Vaayu at six times the price would be covering a fraction of what it is rated for.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml and further supply should be confirmed with SOSA.
Three arguments, and I have put them in the order that usually changes someone's mind rather than the order I find most interesting.
1
Accept that sections share air
The aisle is where two fragrances become a third one nobody chose
This is the argument that ends the discussion, and it is not aesthetic. A brand section is defined by fixtures, flooring and lighting, none of which are barriers to air. Your central AC is mixing the whole volume continuously, which is what it is designed to do. Release two profiles into that and they overlap across a metre or two of aisle, where the customer is actually standing while deciding which section to walk into. The blend in that aisle is unspecified, unapproved and different every hour depending on the AC. The only genuine exception is a closed brand room with its own door and its own air handling, and if you had one of those you would already know.
Tip: If you can walk from one section to another without opening a door, they are one volume of air.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
A maison's identity belongs in its own boutique, where it owns the whole room
Every element a customer meets in your store is yours: the entrance, the lighting temperature, the case spacing, the seat they are offered, the first sentence your advisor says. The air belongs in that list. A guest brand's own fragrance identity is built for a monobrand environment where it controls everything, and imported into a multi-brand floor it stops being an identity and becomes one competing voice. The signature you want is the one a customer would associate with your name rather than with any of the names above the sections - quiet enough to sit under all of them, and characteristic enough to be yours.
Tip: Ask the question in reverse: would this fragrance still make sense if two of your brand sections changed next year?
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Five sections means five section heads with an opinion about the setting
A multi-brand floor has more hands on it than a single-brand boutique, and more people who feel some ownership of a patch of it. Levels only ever drift upward, one small adjustment at a time, each of them reasonable on its own. This is why the boring hardware features matter more here than the coverage figure. One release point, one setting, the key-lock engaged and the 1h/4h/8h/24h timers matched to trading hours means the store smells the same on Tuesday morning as it does on Saturday evening. And set that one level for your advisors, who breathe it nine hours a day, rather than the customer who is in it for forty minutes. If the team says it is too much, it is too much.
Tip: Anyone on the floor should still be able to switch it off in seconds - locked against creeping up, never locked against off.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
You are the host and the brands you carry are your guests, and the air in a room has always belonged to the host rather than to the people being shown around it.
The physics agrees with the etiquette here: sections share air, so five fragrances is really one unplanned fragrance made in your aisles.
One release point for the floor: SOSA Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, so a multi-brand showroom uses a fraction of it and runs low rather than hard. ₹11,999.
The whole brief as a plan, worth pinning up where whoever opens the store in the morning will see it.
The SOSA plan
One retailer signature across a multi-brand floor
The area
What to do
Entrance and threshold
Where the machine often sits, but not where the scent lives. A door that opens constantly exchanges this air many times an hour and no setting fixes that.
Every brand section
The same single profile, at the same single setting. No section-specific fragrance, no section-specific level, nothing for a section head to adjust.
The main aisle
The zone that proves the rule. Stand here after ten minutes outside - if you can pick out two things, something has been released twice.
Private client lounge
The same profile, carried, and if anything quieter, because customers sit here longest and exposure compounds.
Service counter and stockroom
Nothing of its own. Not customer zones in the same sense, and the attention belongs on the floor.
Waterless by design: It adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces - a fact about the machine, not a claim about your stock. ₹11,999.
Five brand sections do not give you five pockets of air. They give you one volume of air with five sets of furniture in it, and it will treat two fragrances exactly the way it treats one.

Why the boring features matter most on a shared floor
More sections means more hands, and levels only ever drift upward
One machine answers almost every multi-brand watch floor, and the only real variable is whether you have a genuinely separate second volume of air. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately, so the 400ml supplied runs 90+ days a fill and further supply should be confirmed with SOSA before you commit to a rollout. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA watch-boutique specification
One signature, one setting, and the machine chosen by floor size
One profile, one setting, one machine, and a second unit only where there is a second volume of air. Ambient scent here is a presentation decision like lighting or case layout; it is never used to cover another smell, and where a floor has a fit-out, carpet or corridor-ingress problem that is fixed first. And plainly: no one can promise you that ambient scent moves footfall or any other business number, and a supplier quoting you a figure is selling. Ask for a retail scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal
Multi-brand owners almost always arrive with the per-section idea already half-formed, and I understand why - it is the same instinct that makes you light each section differently. The difference is that light stops where you point it and air does not. I have never had to argue anyone out of this twice; the aisle argument does it in one go, because everybody has stood in an aisle between two heavily fragranced shops in a mall and knows exactly what that smells like.
What I would spend the thinking time on instead is the character of the one signature. It has to work under every section on your floor, which is a harder brief than flattering a single maison, and it needs to survive your brand mix changing. That pushes you towards dry woods with a leather facet or a soft dry amber - characterful but unfussy, warm because your interiors are warm, dry because sweetness reads as a fragrance counter and you are not one. Recognisable as yours, and never the thing a customer remembers instead of the watches.
On hardware, a floor of 1,500-3,000 sq ft is one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, and if your store is under 750 sq ft it is a Sukoon at ₹1,899 and I would rather you spent the difference on lighting. Whichever it is: low setting, timers on trading hours, key-lock on, staff able to switch it off in seconds, and no promises from me about what it does to your numbers. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
What fragrance suits a luxury multi-brand watch store?
One fragrance for the whole floor, and it should be the retailer's rather than one per brand section. The register is the standard luxury-watch brief: dry woods such as cedar, vetiver and cypress with a leather facet, or a soft dry amber, and never anything sweet, edible, powdery or floral. It has to sit comfortably under every section rather than flatter one, so it should be characterful but unfussy, and run at a low setting.
Should each brand section have its own scent?
No. Brand sections are display zones inside one volume of air rather than separate rooms, and central air conditioning mixes that volume all day. Two fragrances released into it overlap across the aisle and make a third accord nobody specified. The only genuine exception is a closed brand room with its own door and its own air handling, which almost no multi-brand store actually has.
Whose signature should a multi-brand watch store use?
The retailer's. You own the interior, the lighting, the service and the first sentence an advisor says, and the air belongs with those. A maison's own scent identity is built for a monobrand boutique where it controls the whole room. There is also a practical reason: brand mixes change, and a retailer signature survives a section changing hands where a brand-flattering choice does not.
How many machines does a multi-brand showroom need?
Usually one. A SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 is rated to 1000m3, roughly 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, which covers most multi-brand floors from a single release point on the main air path. A second machine belongs to a second volume of air, meaning a separate floor, a closed private lounge or its own AC zone, and never to a second corner of the same showroom.
Will one signature scent make my store more profitable?
No one can promise that and I will not. SOSA has run no research that would support a figure, and there is no honest way to separate ambient scent from the twenty other things a customer experiences on your floor. The question worth answering is whether the air agrees with your interior, your service and your prices, which you can judge by walking in from outside after ten minutes away.
Locked against five opinions: Key-lock and app timers hold one level across every section, on a floor where levels only ever drift upward. ₹11,999.
The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers up to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, and runs at a low setting on a multi-brand floor; below about 750 sq ft the honest answer is a Sukoon at ₹1,899 instead. Waterless, under 38dB, key-locked, made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Send your floor plan with the brand sections marked and we will suggest placement and a starting setting.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
