This is the only city on my list where my first answer to "which machine" is usually a date rather than a product. The showrooms here are among the newest in the country and among the tallest, and each of those facts changes the purchase in a different direction - one delays it, and the other means that when it comes, it is not the machine the floor plan suggested.
Quick answers — read this first
Which scent machine should a modular kitchen showroom in Surat choose? Work it out in cubic metres before you look at any product. You scent volume, not floor area: length by width by height, in metres. From roughly 1,500 sq ft at a normal ceiling, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, rated to 1000m³. Under about 750 sq ft, one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 and a Vaayu would be the wrong buy. But in a lot of new Surat showrooms the honest first answer is none of them yet.
Why would the answer be "none of them yet"? Because a great many showrooms here are recently built and recently fitted out, often on a fixed opening date. Laminate, adhesive, MDF and new joinery off-gas for weeks, and fragrance never covers another smell - two smells in one airspace combine rather than cancel, so you would be trading with board and fragrance instead of board. The routine is ventilation and time: run the air handling on fresh rather than recirculated where you can, open up outside trading hours, and trade unscented until the room smells of nothing in particular. Total spend from SOSA in that period: ₹0.
How big is the volume really, and what does it cost? Larger than the plan suggests, because the newer Surat format is a tall frontage with a mezzanine consultation level inside. 1000m³ is roughly 2,000-3,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling height and considerably less under a double-height one, so a floor that reads as comfortably inside a Vaayu's rating can sit right at the edge of it. Total hardware spend for most showrooms is still one machine at ₹11,999 - and a mezzanine with its own air is the only honest reason for a second.
The short answer
Short answer: measured, not guessed: work out length by width by height in metres first, because Surat's newer showrooms are tall and a double-height floor holds far more air than its square footage implies. From about 1,500 sq ft at a normal ceiling that is one Vaayu (₹11,999), and under 750 sq ft a Sukoon (₹1,899). And if the showroom is recently fitted out, the honest first answer is to buy nothing yet and trade unscented until the off-gassing has gone.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) once the cubic arithmetic supports it and the fit-out has cured, or one SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) under about 750 sq ft - with an Aangan (₹25,999) where the centre is past roughly 5,000 sq ft with real air handling.
Next step: send the floor plan with ceiling heights written on it and the date the fit-out was completed, and we will tell you which machine the volume calls for and whether it is too early to buy one - Ask for a retail scenting plan.
The Surat facts that matter are not about weather at all. They are a young showroom stock built fast on the newer western stretches, tall frontages with mezzanine consultation levels, and fit-outs completed close enough to opening day that the building is still curing when the first customer walks in.
The showroom machine - tap to see the specification
Which scent machine should a modular kitchen showroom in Surat actually buy?
Before any product, two questions, and in this city both of them tend to come back with answers people are not expecting. The first is how much air you actually have. You scent cubic volume, not floor area: length by width by height, in metres, and you subtract nothing for the displays. That matters more here than almost anywhere, because the newer Surat showroom format - the recently built units on the western stretches - is a tall frontage with a mezzanine or gallery consultation level set inside it. A floor that reads as 2,000 sq ft on a plan can hold close to twice the air a single-storey 2,000 sq ft floor does. The SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is rated to 1000m³, which is roughly 2,000-3,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling and considerably less under a double-height one - so the arithmetic can move a showroom from comfortably inside the rating to sitting right at its edge, and a supplier who quotes you only square feet has skipped the first step. If the number comes out past what one machine is rated for, the answer is not two Vaayus in the same volume: two units in one connected space do not add, they meet, and the meeting point is a seam in an aisle. It is either one machine on each genuinely separate volume - a mezzanine with its own supply and return is a real second volume, a mezzanine open to the floor is not - or, past roughly 5,000 sq ft with a central air handler, an Aangan at ₹25,999 specified into the plant. The second question is when the fit-out finished, and this is where I lose the sale in a lot of Surat conversations. Showrooms here are frequently built and fitted quickly against a fixed opening date, which means the building is still curing when the first customer arrives. Laminate, adhesive, MDF and new joinery off-gas for weeks, and fragrance never covers another smell. Two smells in one airspace combine rather than cancel, so a machine switched on into a curing showroom gives you board and fragrance, which is worse than board. The honest instruction is ventilation and time: run the air handling on fresh air rather than recirculation where the system allows it, open the building up outside trading hours, and trade unscented until the room smells of nothing in particular. Total spend from SOSA during that period: ₹0. Only then is a machine worth buying. When it is, the register is the national one - dry woods for timber and warm displays, the brighter green end run low for white and grey, and nothing edible at any point, because a room selling ₹5-10 lakh cabinetry that smells of food reads as a café. The honest concession on size: under about 750 sq ft one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 is the right buy and a Vaayu would be the wrong one. One more thing to settle before a rollout: SOSA does not currently sell a cold-air refill oil separately, the 400ml supplied runs 90+ days a fill, and continuity of supply should be confirmed with us in writing first. And plainly: no one can promise you that ambient scent moves footfall, enquiries or order value, and a supplier who offers you a figure is selling.Ask for a retail scenting plan and send the floor plan.
Measure in cubic metres before choosing anything, because Surat's newer showrooms are tall and hold far more air than their floor plans admit. And if the fit-out is recent, buy nothing yet - ventilate, wait, and trade unscented. ₹1,899 under 750 sq ft, ₹11,999 from about 1,500 once both tests pass.
Once the volume and the calendar both agree, one SOSA Vaayu - rated in cubic metres, not square feet, to 1000m³, waterless, under 38dB, with a 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill. ₹11,999. Under 750 sq ft, buy the Sukoon at ₹1,899 instead.
Two honest answers, chosen by the arithmetic rather than by the size of the room you are standing in. Do the multiplication before you read the product pages, not after.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³ - roughly 2,000-3,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling and meaningfully less under a tall frontage. 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, auto-stop and key-lock. Freestanding, wall or HVAC mountable, and best mounted low rather than high in a double-height room.
Ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft, supplied with three 15ml fragrances. For a single-room studio, or a satellite display unit, this is the honest buy, and a Vaayu at six times the price would be rated for several times the volume you actually have.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml and further supply should be confirmed with SOSA.
None of them is the fragrance, and two of them will delay or shrink the purchase rather than enlarge it.

Multiply before you shop
A tall frontage holds air that a square-foot rating never counted
Take a tape to it: length by width by height, in metres, and subtract nothing for the display kitchens. 1000m³ is roughly 2,000-3,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling and considerably less under a double-height one, which is exactly the shape the newer Surat showrooms are built in. Warm air rises and takes the fragrance with it, which is why the machine goes low rather than high in a tall room - mounting it at gallery level is how the ground floor ends up smelling of nothing. If your arithmetic lands past a single machine's rating, do not buy two for the same volume. Two units in one connected space meet rather than add, and the meeting point is a seam an aisle wide.
Tip: Write the ceiling height on the floor plan before you send it to anyone.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
A showroom built to an opening date is still curing on opening day
Fast build, fast fit-out, fixed launch: it is how a lot of this city's newer showrooms got open, and it means the building is off-gassing while it trades. Laminate, adhesive, MDF and new joinery are a curing problem solved by ventilation and time, and fragrance never covers another smell - the two combine and you end up selling craftsmanship in a room that smells of board and pine at once. Run the air on fresh rather than recirculated where the system allows, open up outside trading hours, sequence any remaining display installs so they are not all live together, and trade unscented until the room smells of nothing in particular. Then buy the machine.
Tip: A new showroom's first scenting decision is a date, not a product.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
The mezzanine consultation level is the signature of the newer format here, and whether it needs anything of its own is a question about air rather than about floors. If it has its own supply and its own return, it is a second volume and the only honest case for a second machine. If it is open to the display floor over a void, it is a high corner of one room, and warm air will carry the profile up to it on its own - usually more strongly than you expect, which is another argument for a low mounting position and a quiet setting. Stand at the consultation table on that level for a full ninety minutes before deciding anything, because that seat sets the ceiling for the whole building.
Tip: Judge the level from the mezzanine seat, not from the ground floor door.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Surat is the one market where my first answer to "which machine" is usually a date rather than a product - the showrooms are new enough that the honest purchase is still weeks away, and tall enough that when it arrives it is not the one the floor area suggested.
Two facts about young buildings, both of which cost the supplier a sale and save the owner a mistake.
Rated in cubic metres: SOSA Vaayu is specified to 1000m³, which is the only unit that survives a double-height frontage. About 2,000-3,000 sq ft at a normal ceiling. ₹11,999.
Nothing at all, for now: A showroom still off-gassing from its fit-out should trade unscented. Ventilation and time, and ₹0 spent with SOSA until the room has come right.
The proudest new showrooms I visit are the ones most likely to be scented too early. A building that opened last month is still finishing itself, and the honest thing to sell it is a fortnight of open windows.

Why the specification is written in cubic metres
A rating that survives the room you actually built
Three machines cover the whole Surat range, and the right row is chosen by the cubic arithmetic rather than by the impression the room makes. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately, so the 400ml supplied runs 90+ days a fill and continuity of supply should be confirmed with SOSA before you commit across more than one showroom. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA kitchen-showroom specification
Measured in cubic metres, bought after the building has cured
Do the cubic arithmetic before you look at a product, wait out the fit-out before you switch anything on, and treat a mezzanine as a second volume only when the air says so. Ambient scent here is a presentation decision like lighting or display styling; it is never used to mask another smell - not laminate, not adhesive, not MDF, not cooking - and it is never a substitute for ventilation, extraction or cleaning. And plainly: no one can promise you that ambient scent moves footfall, enquiries or order value, and a supplier quoting you a figure is selling. Ask for a retail scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal
Surat sends me photographs more often than floor plans, and they are usually of a genuinely impressive room: a tall frontage, a gallery level, a lot of new cabinetry under a lot of new light. The question attached is which machine. My answer disappoints twice over, because it is first a date and then a measurement, and neither of them is a product.
The date, because so many showrooms here are built and fitted quickly against a fixed opening, which means the building is still curing while it trades. Laminate, adhesive, MDF and fresh joinery need ventilation and weeks, and fragrance never covers another smell - the two combine, and you end up selling craftsmanship in a room that smells of board and pine at the same time. Trade unscented until it has gone. The measurement, because the shape this city builds in is the one that defeats a square-foot rating faster than any other. Volume is length by width by height in metres, you subtract nothing for the displays, and a double-height floor can hold close to twice the air its plan implies. That arithmetic decides whether a Vaayu is comfortably inside its rating or right at the edge of it, and it also tells you to mount the machine low rather than high, because warm air rises and takes the fragrance to the gallery whether or not anybody is sitting up there.
When both tests pass: under 750 sq ft a Sukoon at ₹1,899, from about 1,500 sq ft a Vaayu at ₹11,999, and past roughly 5,000 sq ft with real air handling an Aangan at ₹25,999. Before any rollout, note that we do not currently sell a cold-air refill oil separately and confirm continuity with us in writing. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Which scent machine should a modular kitchen showroom in Surat choose?
Work it out in cubic metres first: length by width by height, subtracting nothing for the displays. From about 1,500 sq ft at a normal ceiling that is one SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999, rated to 1000m3. Under about 750 sq ft it is a Sukoon at Rs 1,899 and a Vaayu would be the wrong buy. Past roughly 5,000 sq ft with central air handling, an Aangan at Rs 25,999. And if the fit-out is recent, the honest answer is none of them yet.
My Surat showroom has a double-height frontage. Does that change the machine?
It changes the sum you have to do, and the sum can change the answer. A rating in square feet assumes a normal ceiling, so a double-height floor can hold close to twice the air its plan implies and move you from comfortably inside a Vaayu's 1000m3 rating to sitting at the edge of it. Measure in metres and write the ceiling height on the plan. Mount the machine low rather than high, because warm air rises and carries the fragrance up on its own.
Our showroom opened recently and smells of new cabinetry. Should we scent it?
No, not yet. Laminate, adhesive, MDF and new joinery off-gas for weeks, and fragrance never covers another smell: two smells in one airspace combine rather than cancel, so you would be trading with board and fragrance instead of board. Ventilate hard, run the air handling on fresh rather than recirculated where you can, sequence any remaining installs, and trade unscented until the room smells of nothing in particular. Total spend with SOSA in that period is nothing.
Should the mezzanine consultation level have its own machine?
Only if it has its own supply and its own return, which makes it a genuinely separate volume of air. If it is open to the display floor over a void, it is a high corner of one room, and the profile will reach it on its own - often more strongly than expected, which argues for a low mounting position and a quiet setting rather than a second machine. Sit at that consultation table for a full ninety minutes before deciding, because that seat sets the ceiling.
Will scenting my Surat showroom increase enquiries or order value?
No one can promise that, and I will not. SOSA has run no research that would support a figure, and there is no honest way to separate ambient scent from the twenty other things a customer experiences across a ninety-minute visit. A supplier who offers you a number is selling. What is worth asking is whether the air agrees with the displays, the lighting and the price of the kitchens, which in a new building usually means waiting before it means buying.
Waterless by design: SOSA Vaayu adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces - a fact about the machine, not a claim about your finishes. ₹11,999.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room.
