There are three kinds of number in this answer and most suppliers blur them together on purpose. One kind is published and fixed. One kind is arithmetic you can check yourself off a rating plate. And one kind does not exist, which is the kind I am going to refuse to invent for you even though it is the number you most want.
Quick answers — read this first
How much does professional scenting cost a premium restaurant? The hardware is published and fixed. A Mountain Breeze reed is ₹849 for 50ml and ₹1,349 for 130ml. A Boond is ₹899. A Sukoon is ₹1,899. A Vaayu is ₹11,999, an Aangan₹25,999 and a Meenar₹38,500. Most restaurants sit at the bottom of that list, because you size the non-dining envelope and not the restaurant - a 5,000 sq ft restaurant is routinely a 350 sq ft scenting job, and at that size a Vaayu would be the wrong buy.
What does it cost to run? Electricity is arithmetic you can check. The Vaayu's plate says 5W. On a ten-hour daily schedule that is 50 watt-hours a day, 0.05 units a day, and about 1.5 units a month. That is arithmetic off the rating plate rather than a measurement, and tariffs vary by state and by connection, so the rupee figure is yours to compute from your own bill. Then the honest part: a total running cost cannot be quoted, and the next answer explains why.
Why can't you quote a total running cost? Because the consumable side has no published figure and I will not invent one. Oil consumption for the Vaayu is not published, so no millilitre-per-month number appears anywhere on this page. No cold-air refill is sold separately yet: the machine ships with 4 × 100ml, that 400ml is the entire supply today and it runs 90+ days a fill. Our Hotel Collection oils at ₹299, ₹999 and ₹1,799 are ultrasonic only and are never a Vaayu refill. So the total does not exist to be quoted.
The short answer
Short answer: the hardware is published and fixed: reeds from ₹849, a Boond ₹899, a Sukoon ₹1,899, a Vaayu ₹11,999, an Aangan ₹25,999 and a Meenar ₹38,500. Electricity is checkable arithmetic: the Vaayu draws 5W, so on a ten-hour daily schedule that is about 1.5 units a month, and tariffs vary by state and connection so the rupee figure is yours to compute. But a total running cost cannot be quoted, because oil consumption is not published and no cold-air refill is sold separately yet.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) where the arrival areas form one connected volume, drawing 5W and running 90+ days on the 400ml supplied - or one SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899), a Boond (₹899) or a Mountain Breeze reed (₹849) where the envelope is smaller, which is most restaurants
Next step: send us the floor plan with the non-dining areas and ceiling heights marked and we will tell you which machine the arithmetic returns and what the published price of it is - and we will put the unpublished commercial terms in writing rather than quoting them on a page - Ask for a restaurant scenting plan.
The last two lines are the reason this page exists. I can give you a price list and one piece of checkable arithmetic, and I cannot give you a total - and a supplier who hands you a neat monthly figure has either measured something they have not shown you or made it up.

What does professional scenting actually cost a premium restaurant in India?
There are three kinds of number here and I am going to keep them apart. First, hardware, which is published and fixed. A Mountain Breeze reed is ₹849 for 50ml and ₹1,349 for 130ml. A SOSA Boond is ₹899 for a room up to about 150 sq ft. A SOSA Sukoon is ₹1,899 for roughly 270-320 sq ft. A SOSA Vaayu is ₹11,999 for up to 1000m³. An Aangan is ₹25,999 and a Meenar is ₹38,500 for HVAC work in a very large or very tall shell. Most restaurants belong at the cheap end of that list, because you size the non-dining envelope and not the restaurant: under about 750 sq ft of foyer, lounge, corridor and washroom lobby the honest answer is the Sukoon at ₹1,899 or the ₹849 reed, and a Vaayu would be the wrong buy. Second, electricity, which is arithmetic you can check yourself. The Vaayu's plate says 5W. Ten hours a day is 50 watt-hours, which is 0.05 units a day and about 1.5 units a month. I want to be precise about what that is: it is arithmetic off the rating plate, not a measurement, and commercial tariffs vary by state, by slab and by connection type, so the rupee figure is yours to work out from your own bill rather than mine to assert. Third, the total running cost, which I cannot quote you. Not because it is commercially sensitive but because the consumable half of it has no published figure. Oil consumption for the Vaayu is not published, so there is no millilitre-per-month number on this page, no range and no rough guide - I would rather you leave here without the number than leave with one I made up. What I can tell you is the supply position, plainly: the machine ships with 4 × 100ml, that 400ml is the entire supply today, it runs 90+ days a fill, and no cold-air refill is sold separately yet. Our Hotel Collection oils at ₹299, ₹999 and ₹1,799 are ultrasonic only and are never a Vaayu refill. The reeds are the one consumable with published economics: 50ml lasts 6-8 weeks, 130ml 14-18 weeks, refills are 300ml ₹2,399 and 500ml ₹3,499. And the commercial terms a group actually needs are not published either: bulk and multi-site pricing, GST and corporate invoicing, AMC, warranty terms, installation, minimum order, lead time and rollout. Ask for every one of those in writing and accept no verbal figure, from us or anyone. Standing limits: an ambience decision like lighting, never a mask for cooking or a drain, the dining room stays unscented, and SOSA does not publish a business-outcome number because it has not measured one.Ask for a restaurant scenting plan.
Hardware is published: ₹849 a reed, ₹899 a Boond, ₹1,899 a Sukoon, ₹11,999 a Vaayu, ₹25,999 an Aangan, ₹38,500 a Meenar. Electricity is arithmetic: 5W on ten hours a day is about 1.5 units a month, off the rating plate rather than measured, with tariffs yours to apply. A total running cost cannot be quoted, because oil consumption is not published and no cold-air refill is sold separately yet.
The machine most of this page is about is the SOSA Vaayu - 1000m³, 5W, 400ml running 90+ days a fill, under 38dB, key-locked. ₹11,999, published and fixed. Under about 750 sq ft of arrival the honest buy is the Sukoon at ₹1,899 instead.
Every price on this page is the published one and none of it is a quotation for your building, because which machine you need is decided by the cubic volume of your non-dining areas. The images link to the product pages so you can read each specification yourself.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, supplied as 4 × 100ml. Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, auto-stop and key-lock. No cold-air refill is sold separately today, which is why a total running cost cannot be quoted.
Ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft, supplied with three 15ml hotel-inspired fragrances. Under about 750 sq ft of non-dining envelope this is the honest buy and a Vaayu would be the wrong buy - which is a much bigger saving than any running-cost calculation would have been.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W, 165 × 80.5 × 215mm and 0.9kg, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified, which are electrical and compliance marks rather than any claim about food. Made in India. Ships with 4 × 100ml, which is the entire supply today: no cold-air refill is sold separately yet, oil consumption is not published, and the Hotel Collection oils at ₹299, ₹999 and ₹1,799 are ultrasonic only and are never a Vaayu refill.
Take them in this order. The first is a price list, the second is arithmetic you can check on the back of your own bill, and the third is the one where an honest supplier stops.
1
Start with the hardware, and buy smaller
The published price list, and why most restaurants are at the bottom of it
Reeds at ₹849 for 50ml and ₹1,349 for 130ml. A Boond at ₹899 for a room up to about 150 sq ft. A Sukoon at ₹1,899 for roughly 270-320 sq ft. A Vaayu at ₹11,999 for up to 1000m³. An Aangan at ₹25,999 and a Meenar at ₹38,500 for HVAC work in very large or very tall shells. Then do the subtraction out loud, because it decides more of your spend than any running cost will: measure only the foyer, host area, lounge, corridor and washroom lobby. A 5,000 sq ft restaurant is routinely a 350 sq ft scenting job, and at that size a Vaayu would be the wrong buy.
Tip: Work out the envelope before you look at any price. The subtraction moves the answer by thousands; a running-cost estimate would move it by rupees.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
5W, ten hours a day, about 1.5 units a month - and that is arithmetic
The Vaayu's rating plate says 5W. Ten hours a day gives 50 watt-hours a day, which is 0.05 units, which over a month is about 1.5 units. I want to be exact about the status of that figure: it is arithmetic derived from the rating plate, not a measurement taken from a meter, and a real installation will vary with the schedule you actually run. Then apply your own tariff, because commercial rates vary by state, by slab and by connection type, and asserting a rupee figure for your restaurant would be me guessing at your electricity bill. What I am comfortable saying is that on any tariff in India this is the smallest line in the discussion.
Tip: Multiply 1.5 units by your own commercial rate. That number is yours to own, and it is the only running cost on this page that can be calculated.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Oil consumption is not published, and I am not going to estimate it
The consumable half of a running cost needs a consumption rate and a price per unit, and for the Vaayu neither is published. So there is no millilitre-per-month figure on this page, no range and no rough guide. What I can state is the supply position: the machine ships with 4 × 100ml, that 400ml is the entire supply today, it runs 90+ days a fill, and no cold-air refill is sold separately yet. The Hotel Collection oils at ₹299, ₹999 and ₹1,799 are ultrasonic only and are never a Vaayu refill. The reeds do have published economics: 6-8 weeks for 50ml, 14-18 weeks for 130ml, refills at 300ml ₹2,399 and 500ml ₹3,499.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, 5W, 400ml at 90+ days a fill - with the consumable line to be confirmed with us in writing before you plan around it.
The hardware in this trade has a price list and the running cost does not, so the honest thing to do is publish the arithmetic I have and refuse to invent the arithmetic I do not.
A neat monthly figure from any supplier is either a measurement they have not shown you or a number somebody chose.
The published hardware price: SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 - 1000m³, waterless, 5W, 400ml running 90+ days a fill, under 38dB, app timers and a key-lock. Fixed and public.
This is the whole cost answer in one table, with each line labelled by what kind of number it actually is.
The SOSA plan

What to do
Hardware - published and fixed
Mountain Breeze reed ₹849 for 50ml and ₹1,349 for 130ml; Boond ₹899; Sukoon ₹1,899; Vaayu ₹11,999; Aangan ₹25,999; Meenar ₹38,500. Which one you need is decided by the cubic volume of the non-dining envelope, and most restaurants sit low on this list.
Electricity - publishable arithmetic
The Vaayu's plate says 5W. Ten hours a day is 50 watt-hours, 0.05 units a day, about 1.5 units a month. This is arithmetic off the rating plate rather than a measurement, and tariffs vary by state, slab and connection, so the rupee figure is yours to compute from your own bill.
Oil consumption - not published, not estimated
There is no figure here and there will not be one until it is measured and published. No millilitres per month, no range, no rough guide. The only honest related fact is that the 400ml supplied runs 90+ days a fill.
Vaayu consumable supply - the gap
The machine ships with 4 × 100ml and that 400ml is the entire supply today. No cold-air refill is sold separately yet. Hotel Collection oils at ₹299, ₹999 and ₹1,799 are ultrasonic only and are never a Vaayu refill. Confirm continuity with SOSA in writing before planning around it.
Reed consumables - published
50ml lasts 6-8 weeks and 130ml lasts 14-18 weeks, with reeds flipped weekly. Refills are 300ml ₹2,399 and 500ml ₹3,499. This is the one consumable line in the catalogue with published economics you can plan a year around.
Commercial terms - unpublished
Bulk and multi-site pricing, GST and corporate invoicing, AMC, warranty terms, installation, minimum order, lead time and rollout are not published, and no delivery or timing promises are made. Ask for every one of them in writing and accept no verbal figure. And SOSA does not publish a business-outcome number because it has not measured one.
The list of questions to put to us and to every other supplier - coverage in cubic metres, waterless or water-based, timer granularity, key-lock, dB, mounting and consumable continuity - is written out in what a restaurant group should ask a commercial scenting company. And if you are trying to work out which machine the arithmetic returns for a large building, the subtraction is done out loud in how to scent the non-dining areas of a 5,000 sq ft restaurant. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel.
The one running cost that can be calculated: 5W on a ten-hour schedule is about 1.5 units a month, worked off the rating plate. Apply your own tariff, because rates vary by state and connection.
If a scenting company hands you a tidy monthly running cost for a restaurant, ask to see the measurement behind it, because I do not have one and I would be very interested in theirs.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA
Where the money actually goes in a restaurant scenting plan
The subtraction moves thousands; the running cost moves rupees
Three products cover almost every restaurant, at published and fixed prices, and which one is right is decided by the cubic volume of the non-dining envelope rather than by the size of the restaurant. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately, so the 4 × 100ml supplied runs 90+ days a fill and continuity must be confirmed with SOSA in writing before you plan around it. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA restaurant specification
Published prices, and the honest answer for each size of envelope
₹849 for 50ml and ₹1,349 for 130ml, with published consumable economics: 6-8 weeks and 14-18 weeks respectively, refills at 300ml ₹2,399 and 500ml ₹3,499. No power at all, so no electricity line to calculate
₹1,899 for 270-320 sq ft coverage with three 15ml fragrances included. At this size a Vaayu would be the wrong buy, and that single decision saves more than any running-cost estimate could
Foyer, lounge, corridor and washroom lobby as one connected volume
₹11,999 for 1000m³, waterless, 5W (about 1.5 units a month on ten hours), 400ml at 90+ days a fill, app timers, key-lock, under 38dB. No separate cold-air refill sold today, so no total running cost can be quoted
Buy from the envelope rather than from the price list, treat the electricity figure as arithmetic off a rating plate rather than a measurement, and get every unpublished commercial term in writing before you commit. Ambient scent here is an ambience decision like lighting; it is never a mask for cooking, grease, fish, smoke or a drain; and the dining room, the chef's table, any tasting-menu room and the pass stay unscented, with no machine placed where its output can reach a table. I will not describe any fragrance as food-safe or safe for use around food, because we have not tested for that and will not imply it, and anything sited near a food-preparation area is a question for your kitchen consultant and your local authority rather than for me. Fragrance oil is flammable, so oil and machine stay away from open flame and heat - table candles, flambé service, tandoors and ranges. Bulk and multi-site pricing, GST and corporate invoicing, AMC, warranty terms, installation, minimum order, lead time and rollout are not published, and we make no delivery or timing promises. And plainly: SOSA does not publish a business-outcome number because it has not measured one - no covers, no table turns, no spend per head, no bookings. Ask for a restaurant scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal
Almost every restaurant that asks me this wants one number, monthly, all in - and the reason nobody in this trade gives them one is not modesty. It is that the number would have to be assembled out of three very different things, and only two of them exist. So I separate them. The hardware is published and fixed and I will put all of it on the page whether or not it flatters us. The electricity is arithmetic anybody can check off a rating plate. And the consumable side of a running cost, for our waterless machine, has no published figure at all - so I am not going to produce one, not as a range, not as a rough guide, not as a helpful illustration.
Here is the arithmetic I do have, stated as arithmetic. The Vaayu's plate says 5W. Ten hours a day is 50 watt-hours, which is 0.05 units, which is about 1.5 units a month. That is derived from the plate rather than read off a meter, and commercial tariffs vary by state, by slab and by connection type, so the rupee figure belongs to you and your bill rather than to me and a webpage. And here is the part I cannot give you: oil consumption for the Vaayu is not published, no cold-air refill is sold separately yet, and the 4 × 100ml the machine ships with is the entire supply today at 90+ days a fill. Our Hotel Collection oils at ₹299, ₹999 and ₹1,799 are ultrasonic only and are never a Vaayu refill. A total running cost therefore cannot be quoted, and I would rather write that sentence than invent a tidier one.
On hardware, everything is public: a Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 or ₹1,349, a Boond at ₹899, a Sukoon at ₹1,899, a Vaayu at ₹11,999, an Aangan at ₹25,999 and a Meenar at ₹38,500. Bulk and multi-site pricing, GST and corporate invoicing, AMC, warranty, installation, minimum order, lead time and rollout are not published, so ask for all of them in writing. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
How much does professional scenting cost for a premium restaurant in India?
The hardware is published and fixed: a Mountain Breeze reed at Rs 849 for 50ml and Rs 1,349 for 130ml, a Boond at Rs 899, a Sukoon at Rs 1,899, a Vaayu at Rs 11,999, an Aangan at Rs 25,999 and a Meenar at Rs 38,500. Which one you need is decided by the cubic volume of your non-dining envelope, not by the size of the restaurant, and most restaurants belong at the cheaper end.
What does a Vaayu cost to run in electricity?
The rating plate says 5W. On a ten-hour daily schedule that is 50 watt-hours a day, which is 0.05 units a day and about 1.5 units a month. That figure is arithmetic derived from the rating plate rather than a measurement taken from a meter, and commercial tariffs vary by state, by slab and by connection type, so the rupee amount is yours to compute from your own bill rather than ours to assert.
Can you quote a total monthly running cost?
No, and this is the honest answer rather than a negotiating position. A total needs a consumable figure, and oil consumption for the Vaayu is not published, so there is no millilitre-per-month number, no range and no rough guide anywhere on this page. No cold-air refill is sold separately yet: the machine ships with 4 x 100ml, that 400ml is the entire supply today, and it runs 90+ days a fill. So the total does not exist to be quoted.
What about bulk pricing, GST invoicing, AMC, warranty and installation?
None of those are published by SOSA: bulk and multi-site pricing, GST and corporate invoicing, AMC, warranty terms, installation, minimum order, lead time and rollout. We also make no delivery or timing promises. Ask for every one of them in writing, with a date against it, and accept no verbal figure from us or from anybody else. Treat a supplier who will not put terms on paper as a risk rather than a bargain.
Will professional scenting pay for itself in a restaurant?
SOSA does not publish a business-outcome number because it has not measured one. No covers, no table turns, no spend per head, no bookings, no reviews, and any supplier quoting a figure is selling rather than reporting. The decision worth making is whether your arrival is currently consistent with the price of your food and whether somebody will own the setting. And the biggest saving available is sizing the non-dining envelope honestly rather than buying a machine.
And the cheaper buy that saves more than any estimate would: Under about 750 sq ft of arrival, one SOSA Sukoon at ₹1,899 - or a Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 for a single small foyer.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper extraction, grease management, drainage, cleaning and air change and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask or remove another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a guest's decision or any commercial outcome. Dining rooms, chef's tables, tasting-menu rooms and food-preparation areas are left unscented, no machine is placed where its output can reach a table or a pass, no fragrance is described as food-safe or safe for use around food, and the operator's own kitchen consultant and local food-safety and fire authority govern anything sited near a kitchen. Fragrance oil is flammable and is kept away from open flame and heat. The chef's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
