All three of these are defensible choices and two of them are genuinely better than a fragrance at something. A cleaning kit is the most useful object of the three to the people who use it. A keychain is the cheapest and the easiest thing a branch has ever had to handle. What separates them is not quality and it is not price - it is five practical properties, only one of which is cost. Hanging car perfumes sit at ₹449 to ₹509 at published retail prices, and the honest comparison is worth doing properly before anybody signs off a year of anything.
SOSA Sandalwood hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 479
SOSA Sandalwood hanging car perfume · 12ml · mild scent-throw ₹479 →
The one in the range that reads as considered rather than functional. SOSA Sandalwood hanging car perfume, ₹479 for 12ml - mid-priced, available as the mild hanging or the stronger spray at exactly the same ₹479, and fittable during pre-delivery checks so nothing is handed over loose and nothing needs explaining at the desk.
Quick answers — read this first
Which is the better dealership gift: a hanging car perfume, a keychain or a cleaning kit? It depends on which of five properties you are optimising for: cost, handling effort, whether it needs explaining, whether it stays in the car, and whether it can be continued. A hanging car perfume at ₹449 to ₹509 wins on staying in the car and on needing no explanation. A keychain wins on cost and handling. A cleaning kit wins on usefulness to the people who use it and loses on handling.

Why do keychains get criticised as a handover gift? Not because they are inexpensive. The property that defeats a keychain is that it is portable: it leaves the car with the customer, goes into a bag, and joins the others in a drawer. That is a design characteristic rather than a fault, and it is the reason a keychain can be the cheapest gift on the list and still be the one least likely to be in use next month.

What makes a cleaning kit hard for procurement? Weight, bulk and variation. A kit is several items rather than one, so it takes more room at the counter, more effort to hand over, and more explaining about what is inside and how to use it. It is also the most expensive of the three. None of that makes it a poor gift - it makes it a gift that costs the branch something every single time.
The short answer
Short answer: Compare them on five properties rather than on price. A keychain is the cheapest and easiest to handle, which is also why it leaves the car and is rarely used. A cleaning kit is the most useful object of the three and the hardest to handle, being heavier, bulkier and needing explanation. A hanging car perfume at Rs 449 to Rs 509 is the only one of the three that stays in the car, needs no explaining and has a published continuation path in the 15ml refill from Rs 399.
The pick: A mild hanging from ₹449 if you want the gift to still be in the car next month. A keychain if the real requirement is the lowest possible handling effort at the counter.
Why: Cost separates these three far less than people expect. What separates them is handling effort at the branch, whether the object needs explaining, and whether it physically leaves the car with the customer.
Sending something when somebody is having a hard time - at a glanceKeep it small - candle ₹399, attar ₹379, car scent ₹449For their home - reed diffuser ₹749, nothing to switch onSay the words yourself - no card goes in the parcelNever - a parcel instead of turning up
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
Straight answer
How should a dealership compare hanging car perfumes, keychains and cleaning kits as a recurring gift?
Score them on five properties in this order: cost, handling effort, whether it needs explaining, whether it stays in the car, and whether it can be continued. Cost is the criterion procurement reaches for first and the one that separates them least, because the difference between these three is measured in a few hundred rupees per handover while the difference in handling effort is measured in minutes of a sales executive's time at the worst moment of the day. Here is the fair version of each. A keychain is the cheapest and by a distance the easiest thing a counter has ever had to handle - small, light, identical, nothing to explain. Its weakness is not that it is inexpensive. It is that it is portable: it leaves the car, goes into a bag, and joins four others in a drawer. A cleaning kit is the most genuinely useful object of the three to somebody who cleans their own car, and it is the one that most looks like it cost something. It is also several items rather than one, which means more room at the counter, a slower handover, and a customer who sometimes needs telling what is in it and which cloth is for what. A hanging car perfume at ₹449 to ₹509 sits between them on price and wins on two of the five properties outright: it can be fitted during pre-delivery checks so it is never handed over loose or explained at all, and it is the only one of the three with nowhere to be put away, because it is attached to the car rather than carried out of it. It also has a published continuation path - the 15ml refill from ₹399 is larger than the 12ml bottle and costs less than buying the unit again. Two honest caveats. Fragrance is the only one of the three that involves taste, so it is the only one somebody can actively dislike. And SOSA publishes no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no slab and no lead time - the figures above are retail prices, your own arithmetic against your current gifting line is the useful exercise, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Procurement ranks these three on price. The branch ranks them on how long the handover takes. Those two rankings are not the same, and only one of them is felt every day.
If the fragrance wins your comparison: the mild hanging from ₹449, fitted before the customer arrives. Same price as the stronger spray, so the choice is scent-throw and not budget.
Hanging car perfumes from ₹449

The five criteria that actually separate these three, in the order they matter

Run the three through these criteria in order and the answer usually settles itself by the third one. The order matters, because the criterion procurement weighs most heavily is the one that discriminates least.

1
Criterion one and two
Cost separates them less than handling effort does
Take cost first, because everybody does. A keychain is the cheapest of the three by a comfortable margin. A hanging car perfume is ₹449 to ₹509 at published retail prices. A cleaning kit worth giving is normally the dearest of the three and often by more than the gap between the other two. That is a real difference and it is the least interesting one on this page, because all three sit inside the range a dealership already spends on a handover, and the decision is rarely made on a few hundred rupees.

Now take handling, which nobody costs and everybody pays. A keychain is effortless: small, light, identical, one hand. A hanging perfume is one small box that can be opened during pre-delivery checks and fitted to the mirror, so it takes a minute of a technician's time and then nothing at all at the desk. A cleaning kit is several items with weight and bulk, which is room at the counter, a two-handed handover, and something to carry to the car park.

Multiply each of those by your monthly handovers and you have a second cost sheet nobody wrote down. It is usually the one that decides whether a programme survives its second year.

A note on the numbers you will not find: SOSA publishes no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity and no slab, so the arithmetic you do on the gifting line is yours to do from the retail prices.
Tip: Price is the criterion that separates these three least. Handling effort separates them most.
2
Criterion three
Does it need explaining, and who does the explaining
This is the criterion that almost never appears on a procurement sheet and almost always decides how a gift is received. Some objects arrive complete. Others arrive with instructions, and somebody at your desk has to deliver them at the exact moment the customer is signing the last page.

A keychain needs nothing said. A hanging car perfume needs nothing said either, and can go further than that: if it is fitted during pre-delivery checks, it is simply there when the customer opens the door, so there is no handover moment to get right and nothing for a busy executive to forget. If you want it acknowledged, one line does it.

A cleaning kit is the one that needs words. What is in it, which cloth is for glass and which is for paint, whether the liquid is for the dashboard, whether any of it is safe on the finish. Those are reasonable questions and your executive will be asked them. That is not an argument against the kit - it is an argument for knowing, before you buy a year of them, who is going to answer and how much of their time it takes.

The same test applies in reverse. A gift that needs explaining is a gift that fails quietly when nobody explains it, and at the end of a long delivery day nobody explains it.
3
Criteria four and five
Does it stay in the car, and can it be continued
Here is where the three genuinely diverge, and it has nothing to do with quality. A keychain is portable by design. That is the whole point of a keychain, and it is also why it is the one least likely to be in use next month: it leaves the car with the customer, goes into a bag, and ends up in a drawer with the others. Nothing about that is a defect. It is simply what a portable object does.

A cleaning kit goes wherever the customer decides, and for a fair number of people that is a shelf in the garage rather than the boot. Its usefulness is real but it is conditional on the customer being the kind of person who cleans their own car, and a dealership handing over eighty cars a month is not in a position to know who those people are.

A hanging perfume has an unusual property in this company: there is nowhere in the cabin to put it away. It is attached to the mirror rather than carried out of the door, so it stays where it was fitted by default rather than by intention. The exception is the one that matters - somebody who dislikes the scent can take it out, which is precisely why the mild hanging rather than the stronger spray is the right object for a customer nobody has asked. Both formats of the same scent cost exactly the same, so that is a scent-throw decision and never a budget one.

Continuation is the last criterion and the one where the fragrance is alone. A 15ml refill is ₹399 to ₹449 against ₹449 to ₹509 for the unit, and it is larger than the 12ml bottle it refills. That is a real mechanism and not a promise: whether anybody uses it is their decision, and no supplier can tell you what proportion will.
Tip: A keychain is portable, which is its virtue and the reason it is rarely still in use.
SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 499
The decision this whole category turns on
Hanging or spray is a scent-throw choice, not a budget choice
Every SOSA car scent is sold in two formats at the same price: the hanging is the mild scent-throw, the spray is the stronger one. Jasmine is ₹449 either way, Lemon ₹499 either way, Oud ₹509 either way. So the question is never which one you can afford - it is who controls the dose. Hand a car to somebody whose taste you have never asked about and the mild hanging is the safer object, because a person who finds a sealed car too loud cannot turn a scent down, only take it out.
See the SOSA car fragrance range →
Work it out in this order
How to settle a three-way gifting comparison in one meeting
  1. Score all three on cost, handling, explaining, staying in the car, continuation.
  2. Weight handling above cost. Handling is paid at every single handover.
  3. Ask who explains the kit at the desk, and whether that time exists.
  4. For fragrance, use the Rs 449 to Rs 509 list and do your own arithmetic.
The SOSA principle
The complaint dealerships bring about keychains is almost always phrased as a complaint about value, and it almost never is one. The keychain did not fail because it was cheap. It failed because it fitted in a pocket.
That is a useful test to carry into any gifting comparison: not what does it cost, but where does it physically end up on the fourth day.

If the fragrance wins the comparison, how narrow the choice should be

If the fragrance wins the comparison, the next decision is narrower than most people expect, and getting it wrong undoes the handling advantage you just bought. Do not offer a choice. Eight scents exist as a hanging and they are not eight versions of one idea: Jasmine at ₹449 is the lowest-priced and the most conventionally pleasant, Sandalwood and Lavender at ₹479 read as considered rather than functional, Icy Mint at ₹489 is the sharpest and the one most people call clean rather than scented, Lemon at ₹499 is the workhorse citrus, and Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at ₹509 are the three with the strongest character. Offering all eight turns a thirty-second gift into a fragrance conversation and hands back the very advantage that made it beat the cleaning kit. Two or three that do not overlap is the working answer. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 sits outside this decision entirely: it is a spray only, with no hanging format.

The SOSA gift edit
The four options on the table, scored honestly
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
A hanging car perfume · ₹449 to ₹509 Mid-priced of the three, minimal handling, nothing to explain, and the only one physically attached to the car rather than carried out of it. It is also the only one with a cheaper continuation in the 15ml refill from ₹399. Its weakness is genuine: fragrance involves taste, so it is the one object here that somebody can dislike, which is why the mild hanging rather than the stronger spray is the right choice for a stranger.
A keychain · the incumbent The cheapest and by far the easiest to handle - small, identical, one hand, nothing said. If your real constraint is counter effort at high volume, it is the rational answer and nobody should be embarrassed by it. Its failure is structural rather than qualitative: it is portable, so it leaves the car, and a gift that leaves the car is a gift you are unlikely to see again.
A car cleaning kit · the most useful object The most genuinely useful of the three to a customer who cleans their own car, and the one that most looks like it cost something. It is also the most expensive, the bulkiest at the counter, the slowest to hand over and the only one that needs explaining. Buy it if your customers are enthusiasts and your handover has room in it. Do not buy it on the assumption that a busy desk will find that room.
No handover gift, budget moved to the first service · the honest fourth option Worth putting on the sheet rather than dismissing. It removes the counter effort entirely and spends the money at a visit where the customer is already waiting and paying attention. It fails as a delivery-day gesture, because there is nothing at the moment people actually photograph, and it moves the cost to whoever comes back.
SOSA car hanging freshener refills, 15ml, from Rs 399
What happens after the gift
The 15ml refill is bigger than the 12ml bottle and costs less than a new unit
Refills run ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, and ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud - against ₹449 to ₹509 for the unit itself. This matters for one honest reason and not the flattering one: a gift that can be continued without being sold to is a different object from a gift that simply runs out. Whether anybody continues it is up to them, and no supplier can promise you they will.
See the 15ml refills →

One detail that belongs in the comparison rather than in a footnote. The 15ml refills are ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, and ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud - larger than the 12ml bottle they refill, and cheaper than buying the unit again. Neither a keychain nor a cleaning kit has an equivalent. That is a difference in kind rather than degree: one of these three objects has somewhere to go next without anybody selling anything, and the other two simply stop. It is worth being precise about what that does and does not mean. It does not mean a customer will come back to you, and no fragrance house can honestly claim it does. It means the object has a continuation that the customer can find on their own, which is a much smaller and much more defensible statement. Note also that the refills fit the hanging bottle and not the spray, so if a programme chooses the spray format it does not have this path.

from ₹699
When one particular car is not part of the programme
SOSA Safar ₹3,999 for a car, SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 for the building it is parked at
Safar is the waterless, cordless, rechargeable cold-diffusion perfume diffuser for a car or a travel bag - ₹3,999 for the SOSA-scent trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios. It is not a volume gift and should not be described as one; it is what a business reaches for when a single handover genuinely warrants it. Vaayu is the same waterless idea sized for a building: cold-air nebulising of undiluted oil, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and timer, a 400ml tank, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, DC 12V / 1A 5W mains power and CE, RoHS and SGS marks - which makes it a showroom or workshop question rather than a gifting one. Both run waterless nebuliser oil at ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm, and neither takes the ₹299 water-based Hotel Collection bottle. No runtime, battery life or coverage figure is published for Safar. Both add a scent to a space; neither removes one.

Two of these three are better than a fragrance at something real. The question is not which is the best gift. It is which property you are actually short of at your counter.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.

Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; quantities and everything commercial are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than priced on a page. What SOSA publishes, and what SOSA does not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Hanging car perfumes, 12ml - Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. Eight scents in the hanging format.
  • The same scents as sprays, at the same price. Hanging is the mild scent-throw, spray is the stronger one, and they cost the same - so the choice is about who controls the dose, not about money. Mysore Orange Blossom ₹549 is a spray only and has no hanging format.
  • Refills, 15ml - ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud. Larger than the 12ml bottle, and cheaper than buying a new unit.
  • Combos and sets - two-scent combos ₹899 to ₹949, the Discovery Set of three sprays ₹699 to ₹899, all nine sprays ₹2,999, and 50ml sprays ₹1,499. SOSA Safar ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios.
  • Duration - the only car product publishing a figure is Mysore Orange Blossom: 10ml is about 100 sprays lasting about 3 months, 50ml is about 500 sprays lasting about a year or more. Those numbers belong to that spray and to nothing else. No duration is published for the hanging format.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any bulk rate, minimum order quantity, slab or volume discount; any dispatch, delivery or cut-off timing; any payment, invoicing or credit term; case packs, carton sizes or unit weights; any claim that a gift will change a customer's behaviour, a survey score or a repeat rate; and any claim that a fragrance removes, neutralises or purifies anything. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

A note from Sonal

The businesses that write to SOSA about car fragrance almost never open with a question about fragrance. They open with a question about a drawer. Somebody ordered five hundred of something last year, and most of it is still sitting in a drawer at the back of the showroom, and nobody wants to repeat that.

What makes a car product different from the keychain and the diary is not that it is nicer. It is that there is nowhere to put it away. A hanging perfume is hanging. It is not in a bag to be taken home and forgotten; it is in the one enclosed space the person is going to sit in tomorrow morning. That is an argument about geometry rather than about generosity, and it is the only argument for this category I am willing to make.

The thing I would push back on hardest is the instinct to buy the strongest one. When you are choosing on somebody else's behalf, and you will never meet most of them, the mild hanging is the correct choice and it costs exactly the same as the spray. A person who finds a scent too loud in a sealed car cannot turn it down; they can only take it out. Quiet is what lets a gift survive contact with a stranger's taste.

And the part I will not pretend about: I cannot tell you this will bring anyone back. No fragrance house can honestly tell a business what a gift will do to its numbers. What I can tell you is what the product is, what it costs, and what happens when somebody likes it enough to buy the refill themselves - which is the only loyalty any of us actually earns.

Frequently asked questions

Which is better for a dealership: a hanging car perfume, a keychain or a cleaning kit?
It depends which of five properties you need: cost, handling effort, whether it needs explaining, whether it stays in the car, and whether it can be continued. A keychain wins on cost and handling. A cleaning kit is the most useful object to a customer who cleans their own car and the hardest to handle. A hanging car perfume at Rs 449 to Rs 509 wins on staying in the car, on needing no explanation and on having a refill path.
Is a keychain a bad handover gift?
Not bad, just portable. That single property explains the complaint most dealerships arrive with. A keychain leaves the car with the customer, goes into a bag and joins the others in a drawer, which is what any small portable object does. If your genuine constraint is counter effort at high volume, a keychain is a rational answer and the cheapest one available.
What makes a cleaning kit difficult for a recurring programme?
It is several items rather than one, so it is heavier, bulkier at the counter and slower to hand over, and it is the only one of the three that needs explaining at the desk. It is also the most expensive. None of that makes it a poor gift for an enthusiast customer; it makes it a gift that costs the branch something at every handover, which is the cost nobody writes down.
Does a car perfume cost more than a keychain?
Yes, and the published figures let you do your own arithmetic: SOSA hanging car perfumes are Rs 449 for Jasmine, Rs 479 for Sandalwood and Lavender, Rs 489 for Icy Mint, Rs 499 for Lemon and Rs 509 for Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver. There is no published bulk rate, no minimum order quantity and no slab, so any lower figure would be invented. Quantities are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.
Can any of these carry our dealership branding?
For the SOSA products the answer is precise: a custom label or logo on product is available, and that is the whole of the branding offer. There is no custom box, no printed sleeve, no insert card and no wrapping service. What keychains and cleaning kits can carry is a question for those suppliers. Message SOSA on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 for anything about labels or quantities.

About commercial terms: the prices above are published retail prices. SOSA does not publish a bulk rate, a minimum order quantity, a volume slab or discount, a dispatch or delivery window, an order cut-off, a payment or credit term, a rate card, a case pack, a carton size or a unit weight, and none is stated anywhere on this page; bulk orders are welcome and are discussed on WhatsApp. The only branding available is a custom label or logo on product - there is no custom box, printed sleeve, insert card, gift wrap or hamper service. There is no dealer, partner or reseller programme. About SOSA's location: SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, and sends orders across India. SOSA has no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru or any other city, and nothing on this page should be read as claiming one; where a city is named, it refers to the businesses and the cars in that city and nothing more. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify odour, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial, air-purifying or wellbeing claim, nor any claim about being suitable for children, pets or any medical condition. No claim is made anywhere on this page about what a gift will do to a business result - not to a satisfaction or survey score, not to repeat business, referrals, reviews, retention or recall. Those outcomes depend on the business and not on a fragrance, and no fragrance house can honestly promise them. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel. No duration is published or implied for the hanging format. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
