Direct answer: Adaa, one dab, at the base of the throat. Here is why it is the only candidate in my range, exactly how to wear it for this effect, and the one thing I do not make that would do it better.
Quick answers — read this first
Which SOSA attar?Adaa. A transparent clean musk base under a light citrus-green top - the only skin-scent composition in the range.
How should I wear it? One dab at the base of the throat, on dry skin. Not the wrist. Not two dabs.
What would do it better? A standalone white musk attar, which I do not make. Adaa is a clean composition with a skin-scent base rather than a pure skin scent.
The short answer
Clean is an effect, not a family. It comes from three things together: a bright citrus-green top, no sugar anywhere, and a clean white musk base that reads as skin.
The non-negotiable. No sugar. Sweetness is the single thing that stops a fragrance reading as clean, and it is in most "fresh" bottles. Every SOSA attar is alcohol-free and DPG-free.
SOSA in one line. Alcohol-free, DPG-free, IFRA-compliant attars on a jojoba and Mysore sandalwood base, 6-8 hours on skin, 3ml / 6ml / 12ml, ₹379-₹1,199, hand-blended in Pune.
Start here. For clean, Adaa 3ml at ₹379 - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. It is the only genuinely clean composition I make.
Illustrative only. Clean is an effect rather than a fragrance family: a bright citrus-green opening gives the first impression, and a clean white musk base is what still reads as clean at hour four.
So which SOSA attar should you choose for an intimate clean-skin effect?
Adaa, at one dab, at the base of the throat, on dry skin. It is the only composition in my range built on a transparent clean musk, which is the material that produces a skin effect, and it is the shortest-projecting thing I make. The honest caveat: Adaa is a clean composition with a skin-scent base rather than a pure skin scent - it has a real citrus-green opening that announces itself for the first hour. If you want the effect from minute one, a standalone white musk would serve you better, and I do not make one.
Short version: Adaa, one dab, base of the throat, dry skin. And it is a clean scent with a skin base rather than a pure skin scent.
The straight answer:Adaa, 3ml, ₹379 - one dab at the throat.
Since the answer is a single bottle, the useful part of this article is the method - which matters as much as the choice here.
What "clean" actually means
Clean is not a fragrance family - it is an effect, produced by a specific combination: bright citrus and green materials on top, no sugar anywhere, and a clean white musk base that reads as skin rather than as perfume. Remove any one of those three and the effect collapses.
1
Criterion one
One dab, base of the throat
The throat is warm, still and at conversation height, which is exactly where you want an intimate scent to live. The wrist is the opposite - it moves through the air continuously and disperses the fragrance across a room. One dab, one place.
2
Criterion two
On genuinely dry skin
Oil on damp skin spreads thin and sits on the water rather than binding to the skin, which shortens the wear and weakens the effect. Towel off properly and wait a minute. In winter, an unscented moisturiser first genuinely extends it.
The citrus opening is the least skin-like part of the composition. What you are after is the base, which arrives properly after about an hour and stays for the rest of the day. Judging a skin scent at minute five is judging the wrong thing.
4
Criterion four
Ask someone else
You stop perceiving your own skin scent within an hour - the nose adapts quickly to close, low-intensity smells. If you judge it yourself you will conclude it has vanished when it has not. Ask someone who has been near you.
5
Criterion five
Clean is a close-range effect - so wear less
A fragrance that fills a room reads as perfume by definition, not as clean skin. The whole clean impression depends on someone noticing it when they are close to you and not before. One dab at the base of the throat is the correct dose, and two is usually the reason a clean scent stopped reading as clean.

What to look for
Why it matters for a clean scent
How to check

This is what still reads as clean at hour four
What is the base note?
No sugar anywhere
Sweetness is what breaks the clean effect
Check for vanilla, tonka, amber
Bright citrus-green top

Bergamot, neroli, cardamom?
A real anchor under the citrus
Citrus alone is gone in 40 minutes
What holds the brightness?

Clean is a close-range effect
Does it sit near the skin?
Oil base, no alcohol
No sting, no sharp evaporation
Ask: alcohol-free? DPG-free?

Where SOSA sits - and where another attar might suit you better
The most common complaint about Adaa is that it disappears, and almost every time it turns out the person is smelling their own wrist at hour four. Ask a colleague instead.
The honest position
One bottle, four rules. The method matters as much as the choice.
Where I think we earn a place on your shortlist: a transparent clean musk base, the shortest projection in my range, and a 3ml at ₹379 to test it properly. Where another house might suit you better: a standalone white musk attar would deliver this effect more purely from minute one - I do not make one and will not pretend Adaa is the same thing.
"Clean means weak." It does not. Clean is about the materials - no sugar, clean musk, bright top - not about strength. A clean fragrance can last eight hours and still read as skin.
✕
"All fresh fragrances smell the same." Most of the cheap ones do, because they lean on the same handful of inexpensive fresh materials. The difference is what sits underneath - real cardamom and neroli, or nothing.
✕
"Clean is boring." Only when it is thin. A clean composition with real material is quietly interesting all day - reviews here are illustrative, not a guarantee.
One dab at the throat, dry skin, judged at hour two by someone other than you. Adaa is the bottle; the method is the rest.
The SOSA attar range
Every attar comes in 3ml (₹379-₹399), 6ml (₹669-₹699) and 12ml (₹1,149-₹1,199). For a skin-scent effect: Adaa, and nothing else in the range applies.
"I just want to smell clean" is the single most common thing anyone says to me, and it is a harder brief than it sounds - because clean is not a fragrance family. It is an effect, and it takes three things at once: a bright citrus-green opening, a clean white musk base that reads as skin rather than as perfume, and no sugar anywhere.
That third condition is why so many bottles sold as fresh do not stay clean. Sweetness is inexpensive and it tests well at a counter, so it finds its way into almost everything - and by hour three you are wearing something that announces itself as perfume rather than as a person who is well-groomed.
Adaa is the only genuinely clean thing I make, and I would rather say that plainly than stretch the word across my whole range. I do not make an aquatic and I do not make a standalone white musk. If those are what you want, buy them from someone who does - and if a clean citrus-green-musk is what you are after, mine is worth your ₹379.
Frequently asked questions
Which SOSA attar smells cleanest?
Adaa - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. It is the only genuinely clean composition in the range; Ameeri is warm, Mastani is rich and Nawaab is deep, and I would not sell any of them as fresh. From ₹379.
How much should I apply for a clean effect?
One dab at the base of the throat, on dry skin. Clean is a close-range impression by definition - anything that fills a room is reading as perfume rather than as grooming, and over-applying is the most common way people lose the effect.
Do you make an aquatic or a pure white musk attar?
No to both, and I would rather say so. My range has no marine or ozonic composition and no standalone white musk. What I make is a citrus-green-musk, which is a third route to the same impression - and if you specifically want an aquatic, buy one from a house that makes them.
Does "clean" mean the fragrance is weak?
No. Clean is a property of the materials - no sugar, a clean musk base, a bright top - not of the strength. SOSA attars wear 6-8 hours on skin, and the clean effect lasts as long as the scent does because the musk base is what creates it.
How long does a clean attar last on skin?
6-8 hours for the SOSA range, slightly longer on warm or oily skin. The citrus impression fades within the first hour; what remains, and what still reads as clean, is the musk base.
