Two showrooms can buy the same machine, size it correctly, fill it with the same fragrance, and get completely different results. The variable is where it was fixed to the wall, and a car showroom has an air pattern unlike any other retail space.
Quick answers — read this first
Where should a scent machine be installed in a car showroom? On the air path rather than in a corner: beside an air-conditioning return or where the supply genuinely moves air across the display floor, wall mounted at about 1.8 to 2.2 metres and out of reach of customers. Keep it away from the large doors used to move vehicles in and out, because that opening loses conditioned air every time it is used. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) can be freestanding, wall mounted or HVAC mounted, so the position is a free choice.
Should a showroom diffuser be mounted high because the ceiling is high? No. Fragrance has to reach the breathing zone, and a machine mounted at five or six metres in a tall glass showroom mostly scents the roof. Mount at about 1.8 to 2.2 metres and let the air handling do the distribution. If the hall is genuinely too large for that to work, the answer is a SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the HVAC rather than a higher wall bracket.
Should the scent machine be placed near the display cars? Not directly beside them. Customers open car doors specifically to smell the interior, and the new-car smell should be the car's own. Site the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) away from vehicles standing open, and run it at a low intensity so the building's fragrance sits under the car rather than over it.
The short answer
Short answer: on the air path, not in a corner. Wall mount the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) at about 1.8 to 2.2 metres beside an air-conditioning return where air genuinely moves, away from the large doors used for vehicle movement and away from display cars standing open; a large hall instead takes a SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) mounted to the HVAC.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) wall mounted or freestanding on the showroom air path, stepping up to the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) mounted to the air handling when the hall is too large for a wall position to serve it evenly.
Next step: send a floor plan marked with your AC supplies and returns and the doors used for vehicle movement, and we will mark the mounting points - book a free scenting plan.
Placement decides whether a correctly sized machine reads as a considered building or as a strong patch near a wall. In a showroom the air is unusual: tall, glazed, and interrupted every time a car is driven in or out.
Where exactly should scent machines be installed in an automobile showroom?
Put it where the air is already going. In practice that means beside an air-conditioning return, or on a wall or column where the supply is genuinely moving air across the display floor, wall mounted at about 1.8 to 2.2 metres. That height matters more in a showroom than anywhere else: the ceiling invites you to mount high, and a machine at five metres in a glazed hall scents the roof steel and very little else. Fragrance needs to fall into the breathing zone. Now the four places it should not go. Not in or beside the doorway used to move vehicles, because that opening behaves like a chimney every time it is used and you are simply scenting the forecourt. Not beside display cars standing open, because buyers open those doors to smell the interior and the new-car smell belongs to the car. Not on the reception counter, which is where most of them end up, pointing at a wall in still air. And not in the lounge above the coffee counter, where two good smells become one confusing one. If the hall is too large for a single wall position to serve evenly, the answer is not a higher bracket but a different machine: one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) mounted to the central air handling, distributing on the airflow you already run. For everything else the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) mounts freestanding, on a wall or onto HVAC, weighs 0.9kg and runs at 5W, so you can put it where the air is rather than where there is a spare socket. Keep the key-lock engaged: the floor is public. A free scenting plan will mark the mounting points on your drawing, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Beside the AC return, wall mounted at 1.8 to 2.2m, away from the vehicle doorway, away from cars standing open, and never on the reception counter.
The SOSA Vaayu mounts three ways - freestanding, wall or HVAC - so placement is a decision about air rather than about furniture. It is 0.9kg, runs at DC 12V and 5W, is rated to 1000m³, holds 400ml for up to 75 days, runs under 38dB and key-locks for a public floor.
Placement is really a choice between two mounting strategies: onto a wall on the showroom air path, or onto the air handling itself. Both pictures link to the product page so your facilities team can check the mounting options before you fix anything.
Freestanding, wall-mount or HVAC-mount, 0.9kg and 165 x 80.5 x 215mm, so it fits at 1.8 to 2.2 metres beside an AC return. Rated 1000m³, 400ml tank up to 75 days, under 38dB, auto-stop and key-lock for a public floor.
In the lounge, the far wall from the coffee counter. In the delivery bay, near where the customer stands rather than near the shutter, so the fragrance is not pulled out every time the door opens.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, about 8,000-10,000 sq ft. Mounts to the building's air handling so distribution is the building's job, not the machine's. 800ml reservoir, metal body, under 42dB.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, 0.9kg at 165 x 80.5 x 215mm, DC 12V and 5W, 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India.
Three things decide the mounting point: where the air moves, how high the fragrance has to fall from, and which parts of a showroom actively work against you.
1
Follow the air, not the floor plan
Find the AC return before you find the wall
A diffuser does not push fragrance across a showroom, the air handling does. So the job is to hand the scent to moving air as early as possible. Walk the floor with a strip of tissue and watch where it lifts. The strongest, most reliable spot is usually within a couple of metres of an air-conditioning return or under a supply that throws across the display area. A quiet corner behind a pillar can be the worst position in the building even though it is the tidiest one. If nothing moves anywhere, the honest answer is that the machine belongs on the HVAC rather than on a wall.
Tip: hold a tissue where you plan to mount it. If it hangs still, move the machine.
The Vaayu mounts freestanding, on a wall or onto HVAC, so it can go where the air is instead of where the socket is.
Because the ceiling is six metres, people mount at four. Fragrance released that high in a glazed hall drifts along the roof, warms under the glass and never arrives where anyone is breathing. Head height plus a little is right: high enough to be out of reach and out of the way, low enough to fall into the room. On a mezzanine, treat the upper level as its own volume rather than assuming scent will climb to it. And keep it out of direct sun behind glass, which is a real consideration in a showroom that is mostly window.
Where no wall position serves a big hall evenly, the Angaan mounts to the air handling and lets the building distribute it.
Away from the vehicle doors, away from the open cars
Two showroom-specific rules. First, the doors used to drive cars in and out will empty a scented pocket in seconds, so never mount within their reach, and expect the entrance zone to always be the weakest part of the hall. Second, keep the machine away from vehicles standing open. Buyers put their heads into a new car specifically to smell it, and a diffuser working hard two metres away takes something from them that they actually wanted. In the delivery bay, place it near where the customer will stand at handover, not by the shutter.
Tip: the entrance will always be the weakest zone in a showroom. Plan for it, do not fight it.
The Vaayu is waterless, so siting it near vehicles carries no risk of damp or residue on paint, chrome or glass.
A machine in the wrong place is not half as good as one in the right place. It is a strong patch of fragrance beside a wall and a showroom that smells of nothing ten metres away.
Find the moving air first. The bracket goes wherever that turns out to be.
If no wall position works for the hall: SOSA Angaan mounts to your HVAC and scents up to 3,000m³ - about 8,000-10,000 sq ft - so distribution becomes the building's job, ₹25,999.
Four positions cover an entire dealership, and each one is chosen by how the air behaves in that particular room rather than by where there is space on a wall.
The SOSA plan
Showroom placement - where each machine goes
Your area
Where the machine goes
Main display floor, normal ceiling height
One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) wall mounted at 1.8 to 2.2 metres beside the AC return, away from the vehicle doors. View →
Customer lounge
One Vaayu on the far wall from the coffee counter, at head height, run a step softer than the floor. View →
Delivery or handover bay
One Vaayu near where the customer stands at handover, not near the shutter, scheduled around appointments. View →
A large hall where no single wall position serves it evenly
One SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) mounted to the central air handling, 3,000m³ on the building's own airflow. View →
One more placement note that is really a fragrance note: because the entrance zone of a showroom will always be the weakest part of the hall, resist the urge to solve it by raising the intensity of the whole floor. That produces a building which is correct at the door and overwhelming in the middle. Accept the gradient, or add a second machine on the far side. If you have not yet fixed the count, the sizing guide for a large dealership does that arithmetic, and the setup guide covers the filling, scheduling and tuning that follows once the bracket is on the wall.
The machine you are siting: SOSA Vaayu, 1000m³ coverage, 0.9kg, freestanding or wall or HVAC mount, under 38dB, key-lock for public floors, ₹11,999.
SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 covers up to 1000m³ and mounts freestanding, on a wall or onto HVAC. Send a plan with your AC returns marked and we will mark the mounting point.
Fragrance does not travel across a showroom on its own. It travels on the building's air, so the only question that matters is where that air is going.

Why it can go anywhere
No water, no heat, no drainage and 5W, so the position is free to be the right one
Two machines and two mounting strategies. The Vaayu goes on a wall, on a column or freestanding wherever the showroom air is genuinely moving; the Angaan goes onto the central air handling when no single wall position can serve a large hall. Both are waterless, so siting near vehicles carries no risk of damp or residue, and both are made in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
A quick word on placement: the tidiest position in a showroom is almost never the right one, because tidy usually means still air. Find the moving air first and put the bracket there. One honest note - no mounting point will fix a smell that belongs to ventilation. Fragrance works alongside extraction and cleaning and cannot cover solvent, tyre or exhaust smell drifting from the service side, so seal and vent that boundary first. A note from Sonal
I have walked into showrooms where the machine was sitting on the reception desk beside the visitor book, pointing at a wall, in the stillest air in the building. It had been sized correctly and filled correctly and it was doing almost nothing, because a diffuser cannot move fragrance across 3,000m³ on its own. The air-conditioning does that. Our job is only to hand it over in the right place.
So in a showroom I look for the air-conditioning return first, then find a wall or column within a couple of metres of it, and fix the Vaayu at about 1.8 to 2.2 metres. Not higher, however tall the room is. Not next to the doors you open to move cars, because that opening empties the space every time. Not beside a car standing open, because that smell belongs to the car and customers want it. If no single wall position can serve the hall evenly, I stop looking for a wall and put an Angaan on the air handling.
And the honest note about placement: it cannot solve a ventilation problem, only a distribution one. If solvent, rubber or exhaust is drifting in from the service side, no bracket position will help. That boundary needs a self-closing door, extraction and air pushed the right way, and only then is fragrance worth discussing in the rooms next to it. Scent works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never instead of them, and I make no claim that it influences whether anyone buys a car. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Where should a scent machine be installed in a car showroom?
On the air path, ideally within a couple of metres of an air-conditioning return, wall mounted at about 1.8 to 2.2 metres and out of reach of customers. Avoid the doorway used to move vehicles, avoid the reception counter where the air is usually still, and avoid mounting high just because the ceiling is high.
How high should the machine be mounted in a tall showroom?
About 1.8 to 2.2 metres, regardless of ceiling height. Fragrance released at four or five metres in a glazed hall drifts along the roof and never reaches the breathing zone. If the hall is genuinely too big for a wall position to serve evenly, the answer is a machine on the HVAC rather than a higher bracket.
Should the machine be near the entrance so customers notice it immediately?
No. The entrance of a car showroom is the least stable air in the building because the doors open regularly to move vehicles in and out. A machine there loses most of its output to the forecourt. Accept that the entrance will be the weakest zone and place the machine deeper into the floor where the air circulates.
Can the machine be placed near the cars?
It can be placed safely near them, because it is waterless and leaves no residue on paint, chrome, glass or leather. It should not be placed close to vehicles standing open, though, since customers open the doors specifically to smell the interior and the new-car smell should remain the car's own.
Where should the machine go in the customer lounge?
On the far wall from the coffee or refreshment counter, at head height, running one intensity step softer than the showroom floor. A lounge is a small enclosed volume with the doors shut, so it needs less output than an open display floor of the same nominal size.
