Taking something to a delivery is a different problem from choosing a gift. The object has to travel, sit on a table or in a boot for three hours, survive being photographed, be understandable in one sentence while somebody is being called away, and not duplicate the accessory bundle already in the car. That rules out most of what people bring.
Quick answers — read this first
What should I take to somebody's car delivery? Something small, unbreakable and self-explanatory - a hanging car perfume at Rs 449 to Rs 509 or a discovery set at Rs 699, meant for use a few weeks later.

What should I avoid taking? Anything fragile, anything needing setup or explanation, anything that duplicates the dealership's accessory bundle, and anything religious unless the family asked.

Should I put it in the car myself? No. The owner decides where things go in their own car, especially on the first day.
The short answer
Short answer: A gift taken to a car delivery has to travel, sit unattended for hours, survive photographs and be explained in one sentence, so small, unbreakable and self-explanatory works best. Avoid duplicating the dealership's accessory bundle - mats, covers, mudflaps, chargers and cushions are already in the boot. A hanging car perfume at Rs 449 to Rs 509 or a discovery set of three sprays at Rs 699, framed as something to use once the new-car smell fades, fits the occasion. Keep it separate from any puja, and let the owner decide where it goes in the car.
The pick: a SOSA return gift - consumable, no shelf space, from ₹299 a head.
Bulk: 10 to 200+ pieces quoted on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. Rates are not published here.

A car is usually a saved-for decision made without anybody else's input, which is why a small gift for it lands harder than a large gift for a house. Two things decide whether it works. Do not buy fragrance to cover the new-car smell - most owners like it and it goes on its own within a few weeks, so month two or three is the honest moment. And choose a dry, green or marine register, because a car standing in Indian sun amplifies sweetness past what a driver can escape. Car fragrance starts at Rs 449, and anything can be checked on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 first.
Straight answer
What should I take to somebody's car delivery?
Small, unbreakable, self-explanatory. Take: a hanging car perfume ₹449 to ₹509, or a discovery set ₹699 - both survive a table, a boot and three hours of photographs. Say it in one line: "for the car, once the new-car smell goes". Avoid: anything fragile, anything needing setup, and anything that duplicates the accessory bundle already in the boot. Do not: put it in the car yourself, or make it part of a puja. Ask on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.
It gets carried, photographed, put down and found later. Choose accordingly. From Rs 449.
If you want one answer for a mixed guest list: hanging car perfume from ₹449, because almost every adult guest drives and almost nobody has done anything about their car. Bulk quantities quoted on WhatsApp.

You are bringing something to an event, not giving a present

Think about the physical life of a gift taken to a car delivery, because it explains most of what goes wrong. It is carried in by somebody who is also carrying sweets or a bag. It is handed over in a doorway or a car park while the recipient is being called by three people. It is put down on a table, or in the boot, or on a chair, and it stays there for three hours while photographs are taken and relatives arrive. It may be picked up in a photograph. It gets found again that night or the next morning, sometimes by somebody else in the family. And it lands in a house that already contains whatever else was brought that day. So the practical specification is narrow. It should be small enough to carry and put down. It should not be fragile, because it will be moved several times by people who do not know what is in it. It should be explicable in one short sentence, because that is all the attention available when it changes hands. It should not need assembling, plugging in, or a demonstration. And it should not duplicate the dealership's accessory bundle, which in India is sold before the keys are handed over and typically includes mats, covers, mudflaps, a charger, cushions and often a cheap perfume from a display by the till. Anything from that list is likely to be a second one. What passes that specification and is still genuinely worth having is a short list, and the car's interior is the most sensible target on it. A hanging car perfume at four hundred and forty-nine to five hundred and nine rupees is small, unbreakable, needs nothing done to it and is explained in five words. The discovery set of three sprays at six hundred and ninety-nine rupees is the same and slightly better suited to the occasion, because it is naturally used over weeks rather than immediately and it hands the choice to the owner rather than deciding for them on a day when a great many people are already telling them things. The Mysore Orange Blossom car perfume spray at five hundred and forty-nine rupees is the tidiest of the three: nothing hangs anywhere, and it works only when the owner uses it, which is the right amount of imposition from a guest. On what to say when you hand it over, one sentence does the whole job: this is for the car, for when the new-car smell goes. That framing matters more than it looks. A new car smells of itself for a few weeks, most owners like it, and it fades on its own as the interior settles, so anything scented presented as something to use right now either competes with a pleasure they are having or reads as a remark about how their new car smells - on a day when they have owned it for two hours. Framed as something for next month, the same object is welcome and it arrives into an empty window, because two weeks later nothing else is being given at all. And the corresponding rule for the afternoon: do not mention the car's smell, not even as a compliment. If you are choosing a scent rather than giving the set, the car decides rather than the person. A cabin holds a few cubic metres of sealed air, stands in the sun for hours, reaches temperatures nothing in a house comes close to, and the occupants are strapped in and cannot walk away from anything - so heat pushes sweetness forward dramatically and dry, green, citrus and marine registers behave. Icy Mint at four hundred and eighty-nine rupees and Sea Breeze at five hundred and nine are the coolest and safest, Lemon at four hundred and ninety-nine is the clean citrus, Vetiver at five hundred and nine is the driest and most grown-up. Sandalwood at four hundred and seventy-nine and Oud at five hundred and nine are the rich pair and belong in a car that will live in a basement or covered parking. Three etiquette points specific to the event. First, if there is a puja, keep your gift completely separate from it. A car puja is a religious occasion; nothing in this range is a religious item or has any ritual significance, and presenting a present as part of a ceremony is a category error that nobody will mention and everybody will register. Second, do not put the gift in the car yourself, however helpfully meant. The owner has had the car for a couple of hours and where things go in it is their decision - hanging something from their mirror on day one is a small trespass. Third, keep the handover short. Delivery days are busy and the kindest thing a guest can do is give the thing, say the sentence, and let them get back to the forty other people. If you want the gift to be useful rather than just present, one remark is worth making and only once: one unit is plenty for an ordinary car, and it lasts far longer if it is kept away from the air conditioning vents, where a gentle release becomes a blast every time the fan runs. Say it, do not repeat it, and do not offer to install anything. And the standing boundary of this cluster: fragrance is a finishing touch, never a fix - which on a car that is two hours old is simply another reason to frame it as something for later.

1
It has a physical life
Carried, put down, found later
Handed over in a doorway while three people are calling them, left on a table or in a boot for three hours, moved by relatives who do not know what is in it.
Tip: So: small, unbreakable, no setup, and explicable in one short sentence.
2
Do not duplicate the bundle
It was sold before the keys changed hands
Mats, covers, mudflaps, a charger, cushions, often a cheap perfume from the display by the till. Anything on that list is likely to be a second one.
3
Frame it for next month
One sentence does the whole job
"For the car, for when the new-car smell goes." The object then arrives into an empty window instead of competing with a crowd.
Tip: And do not mention how the car smells today, even as a compliment.
The SOSA principle
Do not put it in the car yourself, however helpfully meant.
They have owned it for two hours. Hanging something from their mirror on day one is a small trespass.

It has to survive a crowded afternoon

Built for a crowded afternoon and used a month later.

The SOSA scent edit

What to give a new-car owner - by how much you know about their taste and how much time they spend in the car
Gift What it suits Why it works for a new car From
Jasmine hanging car perfume The entry gift · ₹449 The cheapest car item in the range and a complete gift on its own - floral rather than sweet, and best in a car that is parked in shade ₹449
Icy Mint hanging car perfume Safest in Indian heat Cool and dry, which is the register that holds up after an afternoon in the sun - the one to choose when you are guessing ₹489
Vetiver hanging car perfume Somebody who dislikes sweet Earthy and dry, the most grown-up of the eight, and the least likely to tire over a long daily commute ₹509
Car discovery set (pack of 3) You do not know their taste Three sprays so the owner picks - the sensible move, because a car is the least forgiving fragrance space there is ₹699
Mysore Orange Blossom car spray Somebody particular about the car Applied by hand when they want it rather than working continuously - which suits an owner who controls everything about the interior ₹549
SOSA Safar waterless car diffuser Hours a week behind the wheel The premium car object almost nobody buys for themselves - and it should be given with a nebuliser refill rather than empty ₹3,999

A note from Sonal

We sell a lot of car fragrance and we talk people out of buying it more often than you would expect. The reason is always the same. Somebody has just taken delivery, the car has that specific smell of a new interior, and the instinct is to buy something to put in it straight away. Please do not. Most owners like that smell, it fades on its own within a few weeks, and something arriving on top of it reads as though you thought their new car needed fixing. Month two or three, once it has started to smell of ordinary use, is the moment - and it has a second advantage, which is that everybody else has finished congratulating them by then.

The other thing people get wrong is the register. A car is not a small room. It holds a few cubic metres of air, it sits sealed in the sun for hours, and heat does something to sweetness that has to be experienced to be believed - and unlike a room, the driver cannot walk away from it. Dry, green, citrus and marine compositions behave. If you are guessing, guess cool. And one is the right number: two of anything in a car is usually too much by May.

Two honest things. Fragrance is a finishing touch and never a fix - if a car smells of damp, of something spilled under a seat or of smoke, deal with the cause and then scent a clean car, because adding one to the other is worse than either alone. And our Vaayu is not a car product. It is a waterless nebuliser built for roughly a thousand cubic metres - a showroom rather than a vehicle or a flat - and we would rather say so than sell you one. Message us on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 with the car and what they usually wear. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.
