A car is the smallest space any of us scents, and the one we sit closest to. Two or three cubic metres of air, a metre from your face, with the windows up and the heater on for four months of the year. I say this to customers constantly and it still surprises people: almost every car fragrance problem I am sent is a dose problem, not a scent problem. The bottle is not weak and the oil is not wrong. The cabin simply gives fragrance nowhere to go, and winter takes away the little ventilation that was rescuing you in October.
That is why we sell the hanging bottle and the spray at the same price. They are the same oil. One gives you a mild level that is always there and asks nothing of you; the other gives you a strong level the moment you decide you want one. Neither is the better product, and pricing them differently would only push people toward whichever we wanted to sell. Choose by how you drive: a long daily commute is a hanging car, a car that matters most when somebody else gets into it is a spray car, and plenty of people quite sensibly run both.

Which SOSA scent lasts longest in a large cabin?
We do not publish longevity or throw rankings between the nine scents, and we would be inventing numbers if we did. How long a fragrance lasts in your car depends on the format you chose, how far open the stopper is or how many sprays you use, and how warm and how ventilated the cabin is. What we can tell you is what the formats do. A hanging 12ml bottle gives a mild continuous throw and lasts four to six weeks, in every scent that offers it. A 10ml spray holds 100 sprays, which works out at roughly fifty days at two a day, or three months and more at one a day, and a 50ml spray at Rs 1,499 holds 500. Those durations are the honest answer to a longevity question, and they are the same across the range.
Do I need a different fragrance for a big SUV than for a small car?
Not a different fragrance, no. A different setup, often yes. The character you enjoy is the character you enjoy regardless of what you drive, and no scent in the range is formulated to work better in a larger volume. What changes with a big cabin is that a single hanging bottle at the mirror can only serve the part of the car it is hanging in, so the front seats get most of it and the rear rows get less. That is a placement issue rather than a product issue. The other thing that changes is exposure, because large SUVs tend to carry more people for longer, which argues for a register with low sweetness that stays comfortable over a long journey rather than one that makes a strong first impression.
Is it better to hang two bottles in a large SUV, one front and one rear?
The front one is straightforward. A second hanging source in the back is more awkward than it sounds, because a hanging bottle needs somewhere secure that is not a headrest a passenger will lean against, not a grab handle that swings under braking, and never anywhere it can rest against leather, fabric or trim, since SOSA's own instruction is to avoid direct contact between the bottle and those surfaces. For most owners the simpler and far more controllable answer is a hanging bottle at the mirror for the baseline, plus a spray used low toward the rear footwells before passengers get in. And whatever you do at the front, the rule is absolute: nothing hanging from the rear-view mirror may obstruct the driver's view of the road.
How do I choose between the registers if I cannot smell them first?
Buy the Discovery Set of three mini sprays from Rs 699 and decide in your own car, which is the only place the decision is real. A description tells you a character, but it cannot tell you how that character behaves in your cabin at your temperature with your family in it, and those are the variables that actually decide whether you keep using a scent or quietly stop. Trying three properly over a fortnight is much cheaper than buying two full bottles you do not get on with.
Will a bigger bottle scent a bigger car better?
No. The 50ml spray at Rs 1,499 holds more oil than the 10ml, but a spray delivers the same amount per press regardless of bottle size, so it changes how long the bottle lasts and how much each spray costs - roughly Rs 3 a spray against about Rs 5 - rather than how far the fragrance reaches. Similarly a 15ml refill from Rs 399 tops the hanging bottle back up for another four to six weeks; it does not make the hanging bottle throw further. Reach in a car cabin is a function of where the source is and how the air is moving, and in winter, with the windows shut and the heater on, the air is barely moving at all.
