Air on its own cannot make an ordinary office feel like an expensive company, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling something. What air can do is finish a room that four cheaper things have already made good, which is exactly why it comes fifth.
Quick answers — read this first
Can scent premiumise the experience of an ordinary office? Not by itself, and the honest version of the answer is a build order rather than a yes. There are five channels a visitor reads in a room — clutter, light, sound, seating and air — and they are not additive. Each one sets a ceiling for the next, so a room with a covered desk and a droning split unit cannot be rescued by fragrance; the fragrance simply becomes a fifth thing going on. Work the channels in order and the last one finishes the job. Skip to the last one and you have bought a ₹11,999 addition to a room that was already saying too much.

Why that particular order? Because it runs from what the eye reads fastest to what registers last, and from what you can change today to what needs a decision. Clutter is read before anything else and removing it costs nothing. Light is read next and is usually a matter of changing what is in the fittings above the seating. Sound is third because it is the one nobody adapts to — an intermittent noise from the works will outweigh everything else in a long meeting. Seating is fourth because where somebody sits and what they can see decides how the first four minutes go. Air is fifth, over the top of all of it.

If four of the five are nearly free, why sell the fifth at all? Because a good room is still improved by being consistent, and air is the only channel that is present continuously without anybody maintaining it daily. A clear desk drifts back within a fortnight unless somebody owns it; a machine on a locked setting simply keeps doing the same thing every Tuesday for years. That is a real and modest contribution. It is not premiumisation, it is consistency, and it is worth ₹11,999 only after the four channels above it have been dealt with.
The short answer
Short answer: There are five channels — clutter, light, sound, seating, air — and each sets the ceiling for the next, so air cannot lift a room past the level the other four have already fixed. Clear the room, fix the light over the seating, deal with the noise through the wall, arrange the seating for sightlines, and only then add one machine sized on the connected cubic metres and run low. Four of the five cost almost nothing; the fifth is the one we sell, and it ranks last.
The pick: when you reach channel five, one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 for a connected volume up to 1000m³, run low on a fixed window, with the production floor at zero.
Next step: send a plan of the office side with the ceiling height marked and the works doorway shown, and we will do the cubic-metre sum and tell you which of the five channels to spend on first — ask for a scenting plan.

The fifth-channel ladder — tap through for the coverage figures
Straight answer
We make expensive industrial goods but customers meet us in a very ordinary office — can scent help?
It can help, and it cannot do the job on its own, and the difference between those two statements is the whole of this page. A visitor reads a room through five channels: clutter, light, sound, seating and air. They are not five separate contributions that add up. Each one sets a ceiling for the ones after it, which is why the order matters far more than the budget. A room full of stacked cartons cannot be rescued by warm lighting — you get a well-lit room full of cartons. A clear, well-lit room with an intermittent grinding noise through the wall cannot be rescued by good chairs, because sound is the one channel nobody adapts to. And a room that has not settled the first four cannot be rescued by fragrance; the fragrance becomes a fifth signal in a room where four are already disagreeing, and a visitor reads that as effort rather than as quality. So work them in order. One, clutter: take the room down to what the room is for. This is free, it is the fastest thing anybody reads, and it is the single largest change available to most factory offices. Two, light: change what is in the fittings over the seating so that the visitor is not sitting under the same cool white as the stores, and let the rest of the room be as it is. Three, sound: deal with what comes through the shared wall and with whatever the split unit is doing, because an hour of intermittent noise undoes everything else. Four, seating: decide where somebody sits, what they face, and whether they can put a bag down — sightlines cost nothing to change and set the tone of the first four minutes. Five, air: one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 sized on the connected cubic metres, run low, on a fixed window, with the production floor at zero. Four of those five cost almost nothing and all four outrank the one I sell. Two limits, stated plainly. Ambient fragrance is an interior and brand-experience decision that sits alongside your housekeeping, ventilation and source control and never replaces them. And nobody can promise you that any of this moves a business number — not an order, not an enquiry, not a contract. What the five channels together can do is stop an ordinary room from contradicting an extraordinary works, and that is the only claim available to anyone.
Five channels — clutter, light, sound, seating, air — and each sets the ceiling for the next. Air cannot lift a room past the level the other four have fixed, so it goes last, after four changes that cost almost nothing.
The fifth channel is one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 for a connected volume up to 1000m³, run low on a fixed window. Waterless, no moisture added, no residue on surfaces, 400ml at 90+ days, about 5W — roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month.

One connected office volume, the usual answer
SOSA Vaayu
₹11,999. Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, roughly 2,000-3,000 sq ft at an ordinary ceiling. Adjustable intensity, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, app and onboard control, key-lock, under 38dB, a 400ml tank at 90+ days. Waterless, so it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces.

Where the connected volume passes 1000m³
SOSA Angaan
₹25,999. HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft at an ordinary ceiling, 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules, under 42dB. This is the rung you reach by arithmetic — a large connected office on its own air handling — and never by ambition.

Ceilings, the four free channels, and the sum at three sizes

First why the channels cap each other rather than adding up, then a practical walk through the four that cost almost nothing, then the arithmetic for the fifth worked at three different office sizes so you can find your own.

1
One
The channels set ceilings; they do not add up
If the five channels were additive you could compensate for a poor one by spending heavily on another, and every supplier in this trade would be right to encourage you. They are not additive. A visitor forms a single impression, and the weakest channel in the room caps that impression regardless of how strong the others are. Stacked cartons put a ceiling on the room that no light fitting can lift. An intermittent noise from the works puts a ceiling on it that no chair can lift, because sound is the one channel a person never comfortably adapts to. And the fifth channel is the most easily capped of all: a fragrance introduced into a room whose first four channels are unresolved does not read as quality, it reads as an attempt, which is the exact impression a technical buyer is most alert to. This is why the order is worth more to you than the budget, and why a page selling channel five should say so. There is a particular version of the problem in a city that sells machines to other manufacturers: the frame or the pump set you are quoting for may well be worth more than the entire office block it is being quoted from, and your visitor has just watched it run on your floor before sitting down in the ordinary room. The contrast is not in their imagination and it is not fixed by air.
Tip: Ask a visitor to name the worst thing about the room. Whatever they say is your ceiling, and everything above it is wasted money until it is dealt with.
SOSA Vaayu
It is also why I would rather you bought a Vaayu in month three than in week one. The room has to be able to hold it.
See SOSA Vaayu →
2
Two
The four that cost almost nothing, walked through
Clutter. Take the room down to what it is for: one thing on the desk, the registers and the courier pouch out of sight, the noticeboard edited to what is current. It is free, it is read before anything else, and it drifts back within a fortnight unless somebody owns it by name. Light. Change what is in the fittings above the seating so a visitor is not sitting under the same cool white as the stores; a warmer light over the seats alone does more than new furniture. Sound. Find what comes through the shared wall and what the split unit does at full load, then treat that wall, seal the door and service the unit — this is the channel most often ignored and the one that ruins the longest meetings. Seating. Decide where a visitor sits, what they face, whether they have a surface for a laptop and somewhere to put a bag, and whether the chair is still comfortable at hour two. Rearranging costs nothing at all.
Tip: Do the four in four separate weeks and live with each. Doing them all in one weekend makes it impossible to know which one mattered.
SOSA Vaayu
Every one of those four outranks the Vaayu, and three of them will improve the room more than it does. I would rather publish that than have you spend in the wrong order.
See SOSA Vaayu →

Three
Channel five, sized properly, at three office sizes
Always in cubic metres, never square feet: square feet × ceiling height in metres × 0.0929. A small office: 600 sq ft under a 3 m ceiling is 600 × 3 × 0.0929, about 167 m³ — so small that a reed at ₹849 is a serious answer and a machine would spend its life at the very bottom of its range. A typical connected office side — the front block of a textile-machinery works, reception and corridor and accounts all sharing air: 1,600 sq ft under a 3.2 m ceiling is 1,600 × 3.2 × 0.0929, about 476 m³ — one machine rated to 1000m³, run low, with plenty in reserve. A large office block: 3,200 sq ft under a 3.4 m ceiling is 3,200 × 3.4 × 0.0929, about 1,011 m³ — just past the rating, which is the point at which you either split the building into connected volumes with one source each, or move to a ducted machine if the air handling exists. That is the whole ladder, decided by arithmetic rather than by how the company feels about itself.
Tip: Measure the height with a tape. Almost every sizing error I see comes from taking an area off a lease and guessing the third dimension.
SOSA Vaayu
Notice that two of the three sums land well inside one Vaayu. The ladder is short, and most companies are on its bottom rung whether they expected to be or not.
See SOSA Vaayu →
The SOSA principle
The five channels are not five contributions that add up — each one sets a ceiling for the next, and a visitor's impression is capped by the weakest of them. Air is the most easily capped of all, which is why it belongs at the end of the list rather than the start.
And the ceiling in a factory office is usually sound, not smell: an intermittent noise through a shared wall is the one channel nobody in the room ever adapts to.
SOSA Vaayu
What channel five contributes, stated modestly: consistency without daily maintenance. A clear desk needs somebody to own it; a locked setting simply repeats itself for years. The machine is waterless, adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces, and that is the whole of what it does.

The five channels, in build order

This is the ladder in full. Work down it, not across it, and stop wherever the money runs out — the rows are arranged so that stopping early still leaves you better off, which is not true if you start at the bottom.

The SOSA plan
The five channels, in build order, and the ceiling each one sets
The channel, in build order What it costs, and the ceiling it sets
One — clutter: what is actually in the room
Free, and the largest single change available to most factory offices. One object on the desk, the pouches and registers out of sight, the noticeboard current. Until this is done every other channel is capped, and it needs a named owner or it returns within a fortnight.
Two — light: temperature, and where it falls
Near free. Warmer light over the seating alone, so a visitor is not sitting under the same cool white as the stores. Do not relight the whole room; relight the two square metres somebody actually occupies, and leave the rest as it is.
Three and four — sound, then seating
Cheap, and the pair most often skipped. Treat the wall shared with the works, seal and weight the door, service the split unit so it is not droning at full load — nobody adapts to intermittent noise, which makes it the most common real ceiling here. Then sightlines, a surface for a laptop, somewhere for a bag, and a chair still comfortable at hour two. Rearranging costs nothing.
SOSA VaayuFive — air: the only channel on this list we sell
Last, deliberately. One source sized on the connected cubic metres, run low on a fixed window, key-locked so it does not drift — the one channel that stays consistent without anybody maintaining it daily. Worth ₹11,999 after the four above it, and not before. View →

Channel five is the only one this site sells, and whether it is worth buying at all in a building with few visitors is worked through honestly in readiness rather than reach. The character that channel should carry in a technical business is argued out in the engineering reception register, and if more than one room is in scope, treat them as one register at falling levels — that is one register, three levels. SOSA makes no claim that ambient fragrance affects enquiries, orders, contracts or any commercial number.

SOSA Vaayu
Channel five, set once and locked: a fixed low setting on a fixed window, with the key-lock on. The value of this channel is that it does not need anybody's attention, and the moment it starts getting attention weekly it has stopped being consistency and started being a hobby.

Air cannot lift a room past the ceiling the other four channels have already set for it. It can only make a good room coherent, or an unresolved one obviously treated.

At around 167 m³ — a 600 sq ft office under a 3 m ceiling — the honest specification is a Mountain Breeze reed at ₹849 and nothing else, and I would rather sell you that than a machine you will run at its lowest step forever. Ambient scent here is an interior and brand-experience decision, with no claim that it affects enquiries, orders, contracts or any commercial number; nobody can promise that, and a supplier quoting a figure is telling a story. It works alongside housekeeping, ventilation and source control rather than instead of them, and it does not remove, settle or reduce dust. The production floor, the stores and every area governed by a plant safety rule or a customer's audit requirement stay unscented, and those protocols decide, not us. SOSA publishes no bulk pricing, no minimum order, no custom branding, no lead time, no installation and no maintenance terms; multi-site questions go to our contact page with nothing promised. Ask for a scenting plan and we will do the cubic-metre sum on your own drawing.

A note from Sonal

I am a perfumer, so the first thing I want to talk about in any room is the air, and I have had to train myself out of it. The buildings that changed most in my experience — and several of them were works here, selling machines to the mills at Tiruppur and Palladam an hour up the road — were not the ones that bought the best machine; they were the ones where somebody finally dealt with the cartons in the corridor, put warm lamps over two chairs, and got a plasterer to line the wall the grinding came through. In several of those buildings the fragrance decision was made months later and took twenty minutes.

The reason is that a visitor arrives with one impression to form and forms it from whichever channel is weakest. That is an uncomfortable fact for anybody selling a single channel, and it is why this page exists in the shape it does — four channels that cost almost nothing, ranked above the one I sell, published on my own shop. If I only had one sentence to give an owner, it would be about sound, not smell.

So use the order, and treat the machine as the finish rather than the fix. We make no claim that ambient fragrance affects enquiries, orders, contracts or any commercial outcome, and there is no business case sitting underneath one — not for the air, and not for the other four either. What the five channels together can do is stop an ordinary office from arguing with the works behind it. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Is fragrance genuinely the last of the five, or is that false modesty?
It is last, and I would rather be believed than flattering. Clutter, light, sound and seating are all read faster or felt longer than smell is, all four cap what the fifth can contribute, and three of them cost effectively nothing. Air is the finish on a room the other four have already made good. Put it first and it becomes the most obvious thing in an unresolved room, which is the opposite of the intention.
We renovated recently. Does that mean the first four are already done?
Rarely, in my experience. The renovations I am shown in Coimbatore are nearly always the street elevation and the reception — the two things a visitor sees from the gate — while the corridor, the cabin and the wall shared with the shed are exactly as the grandfather left them. A renovation usually deals with surfaces, which is not the same as the four channels — the cartons come back, the fittings over the seating go in as a matched set rather than for the seats, the shared wall with the works is left exactly as it was, and the chairs are chosen to look right rather than to be sat in for three hours. Walk the five channels through a renovated room and at least two are usually still open.
How do I deal with noise from the works without spending a lot?
Start with the cheap things and measure after each. Seal and weight the door between the office and the passage, add a dense lining or a bookcase against the shared wall, service the split unit so it is not running at full load all afternoon, and move the seating away from the wall the sound arrives through. Those four usually take the room from intermittently distracting to simply quiet.
How do I size channel five for my own office?
Square feet × ceiling height in metres × 0.0929, on the connected volume rather than on a single room. A 1,600 sq ft office side under a 3.2 m ceiling is about 476 m³, which sits inside one machine rated to 1000m³ with margin to spare. A 3,200 sq ft office under 3.4 m is about 1,011 m³, which is the point at which you split into volumes or move to a ducted machine.
Does any of this actually change what a customer thinks of the company?
I cannot tell you that, and neither can anybody selling you any of the five channels. There is no claim here that ambient fragrance affects an enquiry, an order, a contract or any commercial number, and a figure offered for it is a story. The defensible reason is narrower: a coherent room stops a visitor spending the meeting reconciling two different impressions of the same company.
SOSA Angaan
Reached by arithmetic, never by ambition: the SOSA Angaan at ₹25,999 is rated to 3,000m³ and belongs on an office block's air handling once the connected volume has passed a single machine's rating. Making expensive goods is not a reason to move up this ladder; a cubic-metre figure is the only reason there is.

Facts verified 16 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, DC 12V/1A at 5W (roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten-hour daily schedule), freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB, and also runs standalone wall-mounted or lay-flat. The SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) is the largest machine in the range, quoted for roughly 12,000-18,000 sq ft of HVAC-connected space. Ambient scent is an interior and brand-experience decision: it works alongside proper ventilation, housekeeping and source control and is not a substitute for any of them. SOSA makes no claim that ambient fragrance affects sales, footfall, enquiries, order value, buyer decisions, contracts or any commercial outcome. CE, RoHS and SGS are electrical and compliance marks. SOSA makes no claim about the effect of ambient fragrance on any product, material, fabric, finish or stock held in a building; what can be stated is that the Vaayu is waterless, adds no moisture to the air and leaves no residue on surfaces.
