What can actually be adjusted between a long commute and a short errand? Four things, and all four are published. Whether anybody presses at all; which scent, since the range runs Lavender softest, then Lemon, then Sandalwood, with Oud deepest; the stopper on a 12ml hanging, which loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler; and the windows. Quantity, in any finer sense, is not on that list.
Who ends up using most of the bottle? Usually the short-trip driver, which surprises people. A 10ml is 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one a day or 50 days at two a day. One press before a two-hour commute is one a day. Four errands with a press before each is four a day. The long exposure costs one press; the short ones cost four.
Three things to separate when one car carries two very different exposures
A twelve-fold difference in exposure is real and it deserves a real answer, but the answer is not the one the question is reaching for. Three things want separating, and the third is the one that decides whose habit empties the bottle.
- Accept the unit. One press is the smallest action; there is no half press.
- Make the short trip a yes-or-no question, not a smaller version of the long one.
- Count it. A 10ml is 100 sprays; four short trips a day is under a month.
- If you want separate scents and separate counts, a spray combo is 200 sprays.
What is actually adjustable, and what is fixed at one press
Because the spray and the hanging are the same price for the same scent, choosing between them costs nothing, and scent is the one control on the list that genuinely changes the character of both journeys. The published ordering runs Lavender at ₹479 softest, then Lemon at ₹499, then Sandalwood at ₹479, with Oud at ₹509 the deepest of the nine. Jasmine at ₹449 sits at the softer end, Icy Mint at ₹489 and Sea Breeze at ₹509 are the bright pair, and Vetiver at ₹509 is the dry grassy wood. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only, with no hanging version, which matters if the two of you later want one scent running continuously.
| The option | Who it suits, and where it fails |
|---|---|
| One press before the long drive, nothing before the short ones | The arrangement the arithmetic points at. It keeps the count near the published 3 months and above at one a day and puts the fragrance where the hours are. It fails if the short-trip driver wanted the cabin to be something too, which is a fair thing to want. |
| A press before every journey, long or short | Treats both drivers identically and takes no negotiating. It fails on the count: four short trips with a press each is four a day, and 100 sprays at that rate is under a month rather than the published three months. |
| A spray combo, 200 sprays across two bottles | Two 10ml bottles published at 100 days at two a day rotating, so each driver keeps their own scent and their own count and neither is subsidising the other. It fails as economy, since it is two purchases to answer a question about one cabin. |
| A 12ml hanging at the same price, one stopper setting for both | Nothing to press and nothing to divide, with 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass. It fails on exactly the premise of the question: it cannot distinguish a two-hour drive from a ten-minute one, and there is no unfragranced state. |
Two things worth knowing before either of you buys the bigger bottle. The 50ml is ₹1,499, holds 500 sprays and is published at about a year and more - the right size once your combined rate is known, and the wrong one while the short-trip habit is still unsettled, because there is no spray refill at all. 15ml refills exist for the hanging at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents in a refillable glass bottle, with none for Orange Blossom. The whole range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity - a formulation and stability statement about an Indian car park, not a claim that anything performs differently across a long drive or in one season over another, and SOSA publishes no such curve for this page to quote.
The SOSA gifting range
Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.
| Product | What it is | What it is for | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| SOSA car perfume spray - 10ml | Fragrance you switch on | ₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin | from ₹449 |
| SOSA car hanging - 12ml | Fragrance that simply runs | The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler | from ₹449 |
| SOSA car perfume spray - 50ml | The long-run size | ₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out | ₹1,499 |
| Car perfume combos | Two scents, one purchase | ₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs | from ₹899 |
| Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set | Three to try | ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays, or ₹2,999 for all nine. Nine published combinations, and those nine are the whole range - none is composed to order | from ₹699 |
| Hanging refills - 15ml | Only the hanging refills | ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you | from ₹399 |
| SOSA Safar | The powered option | ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder | from ₹3,999 |
The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Versailles
We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.
What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.
So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.
And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.
