This is the wrong question, gently put - in a large luxury home you almost always want both, not one. The Sukoon is a per-room device for enclosed bedrooms; the Vaayu is a large-volume machine for open living areas. The real decision is which room gets which.
Quick answers — read this first
Sukoon or Vaayu - which is right for a big home? Both, for different jobs. The Sukoon (₹1,799) scents an enclosed bedroom; the Vaayu (₹11,999) scents a large open living area. A large luxury home needs the Vaayu for the open span and Sukoons in the bedrooms.

When is the Sukoon simply not enough? In an open-plan, high-ceilinged or above-~300 sq ft space, ultrasonic mist can't carry. That is a Vaayu job - not a 'more drops in the Sukoon' job.

Is the Sukoon 'worse' than the Vaayu? No - it's a different tool. In a bedroom the Sukoon is perfect and the Vaayu would be overkill. The Vaayu isn't an upgrade so much as the right machine for a big open volume.
The short answer
Short answer: For a large luxury home you want both: a Vaayu (₹11,999) for the large open living areas and a Sukoon (₹1,799) in each enclosed bedroom - the Sukoon is a per-room device, the Vaayu a large-volume one.
The pick: the SOSA Sukoon (₹1,799) ultrasonic diffuser plus a Hotel Collection scent (from ₹299) is the hotel-at-home starter; a Boond (₹799) suits a small room or desk, and for a large, open-plan or high-humidity space the waterless Vaayu (₹11,999) adds no moisture.

Straight answer
Sukoon or Vaayu for a large luxury home - which should you choose?
1. Stop thinking 'either/or'. A large home has both enclosed rooms and open spans, so it wants both machines - the choice is per room, not per home.

2. Open living-dining, high ceilings, above ~300 sq ft? That's the Vaayu (₹11,999), which carries a dry scent across large open volume with no added humidity.

3. Enclosed bedroom, normal ceiling, ~120-250 sq ft? That's the Sukoon (₹1,799) - perfect throw, gentle humidity, evening timer.

4. Don't over-dose a Sukoon to fill an open plan. You'll get strong-near-machine and nothing far; that space simply needs the Vaayu.

5. Run different oils in each. The Sukoon runs water-based Hotel Collection drops; the Vaayu runs its own waterless oil.

Made in India; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: not Sukoon vs Vaayu - Vaayu (₹11,999) for the open areas, Sukoon (₹1,799) in the bedrooms.

What each machine is actually built for

1
SUKOON = ONE ROOM
A per-room device, and superb at it
Sukoon - the diffuser Sukoon · the diffuser₹1,799 The Sukoon is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser built for one enclosed room up to roughly 200-250 sq ft at a normal ceiling. Its mist has limited throw - strong within a few feet, fading toward far corners - which is exactly right for a bedroom and exactly wrong for an open hall. It gently humidifies, has a 7-colour light and an evening timer, and runs the water-based Hotel Collection. In a bedroom it's flawless.
Tip: If a door closes the space off and it's normal-sized, it's a Sukoon room.
2
VAAYU = BIG VOLUME
For open, tall, above-300 sq ft spaces
Vaayu - large room Vaayu · large room₹11,999 The Vaayu is a waterless cold-air machine covering up to 1000m³ - a large open living area, a double-height space, a villa ground floor. It diffuses a dry scent that carries across open volume, adds no humidity (ideal for big AC or coastal rooms), and runs on an app with timers. This is the machine for the space a Sukoon can't fill, not because the Sukoon failed but because that volume was never a Sukoon's job.
3
THE REAL CHOICE
Which room gets which machine
Hotel Collection scents Hotel Collection scentsFrom ₹299 In a large luxury home the honest decision isn't Sukoon versus Vaayu - it's mapping each space to its right machine. The open, grand, high-ceilinged areas get the Vaayu; the private, enclosed bedrooms get the Sukoon. Run them together and the home reads like a good hotel: a signature in the public spaces, a considered calm behind each door.
Tip: Map rooms to machines; don't force one machine onto every room.
SOSA Sukoon 500ml ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser with mood light
The hero of this guide SOSA Sukoon · 500ml Ultrasonic ₹1,799 A 500ml cool-mist ultrasonic diffuser with a 7-colour mood light and quiet, long runtime - the natural home for the Hotel Collection scents. Add a few drops to the water, choose continuous or intermittent mist, and one fill carries a room all evening. It gently humidifies too, which Indian air-conditioned rooms quietly love. View the Sukoon →

How to choose per room in five seconds

Stand in the space and ask two questions: is it enclosed, and is it normal-sized? If yes to both - a bedroom, a study, a closed sitting room - it's a Sukoon (₹1,799), full stop. The mist has all the throw it needs, the gentle humidity is welcome, and you get a per-room signature you can change at will.

If the space is open to other rooms, high-ceilinged, above about 300 sq ft, or somewhere you don't want added humidity, it's a Vaayu (₹11,999). Don't try to rescue a Sukoon there with extra drops - you'll only get a strong patch by the machine and nothing across the room. And if you want one scent through the entire home rather than per-room, that's when the ducted Aangan (₹25,999) enters the conversation.

Sukoon vs Vaayu, decided by room

Read down the space you're scenting: the machine with 'ideal' in its column is your answer for that room.

Decide by room
Sukoon vs Vaayu, room by room in a large home
Space Sukoon Vaayu
Enclosed bedroom (~120-250 sq ft) Ideal - per-room throw, gentle humidity Overkill
Study / nook Ideal (or a Boond) Unnecessary
Open living-dining (>300 sq ft) Strong-near, weak-far - not enough Ideal - carries across open volume
Double-height / high ceiling Can't fill the height Ideal - dry scent climbs the volume
Coastal / humid open room Adds unwanted humidity Ideal - waterless, no added moisture
Whole open ground floor Needs several, still patchy One Vaayu covers it

The hotel-at-home kit: one diffuser, seven scents, one small room option
The SOSA principle
The Sukoon isn't the small Vaayu, and the Vaayu isn't the big Sukoon. They're different tools for enclosed rooms and open volumes - a large home needs both.
Per-room throw and open-volume reach are two different jobs.

Asking whether to buy the Sukoon or the Vaayu for a big home is like asking whether to own a kettle or a stove. You want both - they were never doing the same job.

Sizes & how to use: every scent comes as 15ml (₹299, to try), 100ml (₹999, the value bottle) or 300ml (₹1,799, best per-ml); the 15ml Pack of 7 (₹1,799) is the whole wardrobe. Add just 3-6 drops to the Sukoon's water tank and adjust to taste - a little goes a long way - and rinse the tank when you switch scents so each stays true. These are water-based, ultrasonic-safe fragrances made for SOSA diffusers; do not substitute raw essential or carrier oils, which can clog the misting plate. The scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by (not affiliated with) the named hotels. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Can't I just buy several Sukoons instead of one Vaayu?
For several enclosed rooms, yes - a Sukoon each. But for one large open span, several Sukoons still leave cold spots between them and add a lot of humidity. A single Vaayu covers that open volume cleanly, from one point, with no moisture.
Is the Vaayu just a more powerful Sukoon?
No - it's a different technology. The Sukoon is ultrasonic cool mist (adds humidity, limited throw, per-room); the Vaayu is waterless cold-air (no humidity, large-volume reach). One isn't an upgrade of the other; they suit different spaces.
Do the Sukoon and Vaayu use the same fragrance?
No. The Sukoon runs the water-based Hotel Collection (a few drops in the tank); the Vaayu runs its own waterless oil made for cold-air machines. In a large home you'll simply keep both on hand, one per machine type.
If I can only buy one first, which?
Buy for the room that matters most. If your evenings are in a large open living area, start with the Vaayu. If it's your bedroom, start with a Sukoon. Then add the other machine for the other zone.
When does neither answer and I need the Aangan?
When you want one seamless signature through an entire large home via ducting - not a per-room mix. That's the Aangan (₹25,999), a whole-home HVAC diffuser for 8,000-10,000 sq ft.
Choose by room
Not Sukoon vs Vaayu - both, each in the room it was built for
Vaayu for the open living areas, Sukoons in the bedrooms. A large home wants the pair, not a winner.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the technique applies to any brand's ultrasonic system.

Facts verified August 2026: An ultrasonic diffuser disperses a water-based fragrance as a cool micro-mist, scenting a room without heat or flame and adding a little humidity. Great hotels use commercial HVAC scenting to create a signature smell; at home the same effect comes from a diffuser plus a hotel-inspired blend. SOSA Sukoon is a 500ml ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser with a 7-colour mood light (₹1,799); Boond is a 300ml mini ultrasonic diffuser (₹799); both run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. The Hotel Collection comes in seven scents (Ritz-Carlton, Westin, 1 Hotels, St. Regis, Shangri-La, Four Seasons and W Hotels styles) in 15ml (₹299), 100ml (₹999) and 300ml (₹1,799), plus 15ml Pack of 7 (₹1,799); dose 3-6 drops per tank, use SOSA diffuser fragrance only (not raw essential/carrier oils), and rinse between scents. For large, open-plan or high-humidity spaces the waterless SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, up to 1000m³) adds no humidity; the Aangan (₹25,999) is a whole-home HVAC system. The scents are SOSA's own interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
