Put the machine near the air-conditioning return or on the natural path between the entrance and the main living space, at waist height or above, and away from a wall that traps it in a dead corner. Keep it out of reach of children, and away from where a pet sleeps. In a home on central HVAC, mounting it to the air handling is the cleanest option because the building's own airflow carries the fragrance evenly.
