The upgrades that change a home most are usually the ones you cannot point at: the insulation, the extraction that actually works, the soft-close on every door, the cables you never see. This is a straight description of one more of them. What the Vaayu is, where it goes, how to run it, what it costs, and the things it will not do.
Quick answers — read this first
What is the SOSA Vaayu? A waterless cold-air nebuliser for homes, ₹11,999. It is rated to 1000m³, which the product page describes as about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, so one machine covers most Indian flats or a villa floor. It has a 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days, Bluetooth app and onboard buttons, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers with adjustable intensity, runs under 38dB, draws 5W, and has auto-stop and a key-lock. No water and no heat, so no dampness and no residue.

Where should the SOSA Vaayu be placed in a home? Where air already moves: a hall or passage near the entrance airflow, or on the return-air path of the air conditioning. Not in the geometric centre of a living room and not in a closed corner. It can stand freestanding at 165 x 80.5 x 215mm and 0.9kg, be wall mounted, or be mounted to HVAC. In a home with young children, wall mount it and use the key-lock.

How much does a SOSA Vaayu cost and what does it cover? ₹11,999, covering up to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. Running cost is 5W, roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten hour daily schedule, plus fragrance oil, where a 400ml fill lasts up to 75 days depending on intensity and run hours.
The short answer
Short answer: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers and adjustable intensity, under 38dB and 5W, auto-stop and key-lock. Put it on the air path, run it low on a schedule, and air and clean the house first.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for a whole flat or villa floor, wall mounted or freestanding on the main air path, at the lowest intensity you can still notice on entry.
Next step: send us your floor area, ceiling height and where the air conditioning returns, and we will confirm placement - ask us what fits your home.

A 1,200 sq ft flat at a ten foot ceiling holds roughly 340 cubic metres of air, which is well inside what one machine is rated for. Sizing is almost never the hard part in a home. Placement and restraint are.

Straight answer
What is the SOSA Vaayu and why is it a home upgrade you do not see?
It is a waterless cold-air nebuliser at ₹11,999, and it belongs to the same family as every good invisible upgrade: you never look at it, and you register its absence immediately. The specifics: rated to 1000m³, described on the product page as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, which makes it a whole-floor machine rather than a room gadget. A 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours, so refilling is a handful of times a year rather than weekly. Bluetooth app plus onboard buttons, with 1h, 4h, 8h and 24h timers and adjustable intensity. Under 38dB, quieter than a domestic fridge, so it can sit in a passage outside a bedroom. DC 12V/1A at 5W, roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten hour daily schedule. 165 x 80.5 x 215mm and 0.9kg, freestanding, wall mounted or HVAC mounted. Auto-stop and a key-lock, which matters in a family home. CE, RoHS and SGS certified, made in India. The part that decides whether it works in your house is not the specification, it is placement and restraint: put it where air already moves, which is a hall, a passage or the return-air path of your air conditioning, and set it to the lowest intensity you can still notice walking in. Because it is waterless there is no water, no heat, no dampness and no residue, which is the reason we recommend it over an ultrasonic mist diffuser in a home with veneer, joinery, art, books, leather and textiles. And the honest boundary: it is a finish, not a fix. It will not cover damp, a musty wardrobe, pet odour, cooking soaked into upholstery, or new paint and adhesive still off-gassing, and it is not an air purifier and makes no health claim. Air and clean the house first, then scent it. SOSA's hotel-inspired fragrances are our own original interpretations of a style of scenting, composed in our own studio. SOSA is an independent Indian brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel or hotel group. A free home scenting plan will confirm sizing and placement, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

How to install and run it properly in a home

Three things decide whether this works in your home, and only one of them is on the specification sheet.

1
Sizing, which is rarely the problem
Work in cubic metres and most Indian homes need one machine
Multiply length by width by height for the connected space and work in cubic metres. A 1,200 sq ft flat at a ten foot ceiling is roughly 340m³. A 2,000 sq ft villa floor at the same height is around 570m³. Both sit comfortably inside the 1000m³ one machine is rated for, which is why the answer for almost every home is one unit rather than one per room. Floors separated by a closed staircase behave as separate volumes; floors sharing central air conditioning usually do not. If your number goes well past 1000m³, tell us and we will size it honestly rather than selling you a second machine you do not need.
Tip: length times width times height, in metres, divided by 1000. Round down.

The Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, which covers most Indian flats from a single point.

2
Placement and schedule
Put it where the air already moves and run it low
The two mistakes are a corner and a burst. A machine in a dead corner scents that corner; on the entrance air path or beside the air-conditioning return it scents the floor. As for the schedule, two windows a day at a low intensity beats a strong run before guests arrive, which announces itself and reads as staged. If you want the house to smell right when people come, start it 30 to 45 minutes before rather than as the doorbell goes, so the fragrance has settled rather than arrived. And set it lower than instinct suggests, because you adapt to your own home in minutes while your guests do not.
SOSA Vaayu

3
What it will not do
A finish, not a fix, and not an air purifier
This is the part I would rather you read before you buy than after. It will not cover damp, a musty wardrobe, pet odour or cooking that has soaked into soft furnishings, and it will not help a home that is still off-gassing from new paint, adhesives or new furniture; scent over any of those gives you both smells at once. It is not an air purifier and we make no health claim for it. What it does do is hold one fragrance at a low, steady level across a whole floor, every day, without anybody managing it, in a house that is already aired and clean.
Tip: if a room smells of something, fix that first. Then scent it.
SOSA Vaayu
Waterless means no water, no heat, no dampness and no residue near wood, art, books or textiles.

The SOSA principle
The upgrades worth making in a finished home are the ones a guest could never identify and would notice immediately if you removed them.
Nobody has ever admired a diffuser. Everybody notices the house that always smells like itself.

Wait. Let paint, adhesives and new furniture off-gas and air the house thoroughly, then start at a low level.

On fragrance choice, one profile for the whole house, and restrained beats sweet when something is running all day. If you want the reasoning behind automating this layer at all rather than the machine that does it, why automated home fragrance is an underrated luxury upgrade makes that case with the numbers for candles and reeds. If you are still building a wider list of upgrades, luxury home upgrades people often forget puts this one alongside nine others in spending order. Before you buy, the two questions worth answering honestly. First, is the house already aired and clean, and has any recent paint, adhesive or new furniture finished off-gassing? If not, wait, because fragrance is a finish and not a fix, and it is not an air purifier. Second, how big is the connected volume in cubic metres? If it is well past 1000m³, tell us and we will say so rather than pretending one machine covers it. SOSA's hotel-inspired fragrances are our own original interpretations of a style of scenting, composed in our own studio. A note from Sonal

I like the upgrades nobody can point at. The extraction that genuinely clears a kitchen. The door that closes with a click instead of a bang. The cables you never see. None of them are decoration and all of them are the reason a house feels resolved, and the scent layer belongs in exactly that category: invisible, constant, and obvious only by its absence.

What I care about most with the Vaayu is that it is dry. A home is full of things that do not want moisture near them, so a waterless nebuliser is simply the right tool: no water, no heat, no dampness, no residue. After that it is about restraint. Rated to 1000m³ - about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft - one machine covers most homes, and the lowest setting you can still notice on the way in is almost always the right one.

And the honest part, which is the same thing I say to every customer. A home smells good because it is aired and clean first, then scented. Fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never instead of them, it cannot cover damp, cooking, a musty cupboard, pet odour or fresh paint and adhesives, and it is not an air purifier. SOSA's hotel-inspired fragrances are our own original interpretations of a style of scenting, composed in our own studio. SOSA is an independent Indian brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel or hotel group. Everything is made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

What is the SOSA Vaayu and how much does it cost?
It is a waterless cold-air nebulising diffuser for homes at Rs 11,999. It is rated to 1000 cubic metres, which the product page describes as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, has a 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days, Bluetooth app and onboard buttons with 1, 4, 8 and 24 hour timers and adjustable intensity, runs under 38dB, draws 5W, and has auto-stop and a key-lock. It is CE, RoHS and SGS certified and made in India.
How big a home does one SOSA Vaayu cover?
Up to 1000 cubic metres, about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. In practice a 1,200 sq ft flat at a ten foot ceiling is roughly 340 cubic metres and a 2,000 sq ft villa floor is around 570, so one machine covers most Indian homes from a single point. Floors separated by a closed staircase behave as separate volumes.
Where should I put it and how long should it run?
On the air path rather than in a corner: a hall or passage near the entrance airflow, or beside the air-conditioning return. Two windows a day at a low intensity suits most homes, and if you are expecting guests, start it 30 to 45 minutes before they arrive rather than as they knock, so the fragrance has settled.
Does it use water, and will it damage furniture or art?
It uses no water and no heat, so there is no dampness and no residue, which is why we recommend it in homes with veneer, joinery, art, books, leather and textiles. As with any diffuser, do not aim it directly at a surface at very close range.
What will the SOSA Vaayu not do?
It will not cover damp, a musty wardrobe, pet odour, cooking soaked into upholstery, or new paint, adhesives and furniture that are still off-gassing, because scent over an unclean smell gives you both at once. It is not an air purifier and we make no health claim for it. Air and clean the house first, then scent it.
