✓ Said first: SOSA makes no ambrette composition and no musk soliflore of any kind✓ All three routes carry white musk in the base; they differ in what is above it✓ Made in India to IFRA standards · a portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali

Two of the three musks in this question are not in my range, and the third is never sold on its own. That sounds like a dead end. It is not, because the question quietly hides a better one: not which musk, but which composition puts the musk where you want it.
Quick answers — read this first
Does SOSA make a white musk or ambrette attar? No to both. Ambrette is not used anywhere in the range, and there is no musk soliflore of any kind. White musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab, so the musk you can buy is always one part of a larger composition.
What separates white, ambrette and sandalwood musk? White musk is usually smooth, clean and quiet. Ambrette is a plant-seed material that tends to read warmer and a little fruity. Sandalwood musk is a creamy wood sitting beside the musk. Three different floors for one idea.
Which SOSA attar puts musk where I want it?SOSA Adaa, from ₹379 for 3ml, for musk with vetiver and cedarwood. SOSA Ameeri for sandalwood and rose above a musk, amber and soft oudh base. SOSA Nawaab only if you accept an oud-led attar.
The short answer
Short answer: The question cannot be answered as asked: ambrette is not in the range and neither is a musk soliflore. What you can choose is a composition, and there are three that carry white musk in the base.
The pick: One 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379 for a dry, skin-like musk, or SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 if sandalwood above the musk is the idea that appeals.
Next step: If ambrette itself is what you love, tell us what you have worn and we will say honestly whether anything here comes close. Ask for an attar recommendation.
Two absences on the first two lines, because they decide everything below them. The three lines after show where musk does exist in the range, and the 3ml entry price sits on the last.
Musk in the base of all three, and a different surface over each
Should I Choose White Musk, Ambrette-Style Musk or Sandalwood Musk for a Soft, Skin-Like Fragrance?
I cannot pick between those three for you, because two of them are not on my shelf and the third is only ever a floor. What I can do is turn the question into one with an answer. Here it is in five steps.
1. Ambrette is not in the range, at all. It is a plant-seed musk material that some perfumers love, and SOSA does not use it in any attar or perfume oil. If ambrette is the thing you are chasing, nothing here is it, and no other note should be sold to you as a stand-in.
2. There is no musk soliflore either. White musk is a base note in three of the four attars: SOSA Adaa, SOSA Ameeri and SOSA Nawaab. It is never the subject. So the real choice is which composition places the musk where you want it.
3. For a dry, skin-like musk, take Adaa.SOSA Adaa at ₹379 has white musk with vetiver and cedarwood in the base, under jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, and carries no oudh. The musk is held up by dry wood rather than sweetness.
4. For sandalwood and musk together, take Ameeri.SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 has Taif rose and Indian sandalwood in the heart over soft oudh, amber and white musk. It is the sandalwood-musk idea, warmer and richer than Adaa, with some oudh in it.
5. Leave Nawaab unless you want oud. Its base is amber, leather and white musk, and the top is white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf. The musk is present and not what you smell. It is the wrong answer to a soft, skin-like brief.
Nobody can promise you how a musk will sit on your skin, because skin changes it, and I will not pretend otherwise. A 3ml and three ordinary days is the honest test.
Ambrette is not in the range and there is no musk soliflore. Choose a composition instead: SOSA Adaa at ₹379 for dry musk, SOSA Ameeri for sandalwood over musk. One 3ml, one dab, judged at hour three.
What to buy when the musk you asked for is not a product
The product
SOSA Adaa for a dry, skin-like musk. White musk is its base note, with vetiver and cedarwood beside it, in an alcohol-free roll-on oil on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier. No oudh.
The size to start on
The 3ml at ₹379. If sandalwood over musk is your picture, the 3ml of SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 is the second thing worth trying.
Dabs, and where
One dab on the inside of the wrist or the chest, applied once, and left alone. Do not add a second dab to find the musk faster.
At hour three
On Adaa the top has thinned and what is left, by the published pyramid, is white musk with vetiver and cedarwood. On Ameeri expect sandalwood and amber to be more present than the musk.
What it costs to stay on it
Nothing beyond that first 3ml until you are sure. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin, and the larger sizes can wait until you have worn it for a week.
If you love musk, I would still start you on Adaa. It is the one where the musk is allowed to be the floor and nothing sweet crowds it. I will not sell you ambrette I do not make. If sandalwood is what you really meant, Ameeri is the better 3ml, and I will say so plainly.
Start with one 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379. Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli on top, jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang in the heart, and white musk with vetiver and cedarwood underneath. It is an alcohol-free roll-on oil, hand-blended in Pune, and the only one of the four with no oudh. Apply one dab and read it at hour three, not at minute five.
You asked about white, ambrette and sandalwood musk as if they were three bottles. In my range they are three different ideas, and only two of them exist, always as part of something larger. All four attars are alcohol-free, DPG-free roll-on oils on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml.
₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml, ₹1,149 for 12ml. Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. The lightest of the four and the only one with no oudh. This is the one where the musk is least decorated and the base is driest.
₹385 for 3ml, ₹679 for 6ml, ₹1,165 for 12ml. Persian saffron, pink pepper and bergamot over Taif rose and Indian sandalwood, on soft oudh, amber and white musk. It carries some oudh, so it is warmer and fuller than Adaa. The right 3ml if sandalwood over musk is the picture you hold.
₹399 for 3ml, ₹699 for 6ml, ₹1,199 for 12ml. White royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf over amber, leather and white musk. The deepest of the four and oud-led. The musk is listed and it is not what you smell. Choose it for oud, never for a soft skin-like musk.
Before comparing compositions, it helps to know what you were asking about. These are general perfumery descriptions, not SOSA claims, and the point of each is the same: a musk is judged by what surrounds it.
1
One
White musk is a smooth floor, and it needs company
White musk is the name for a family of clean, smooth, soft musk materials, and its character is quiet by design. On its own it can read as flat or as powdery, which is why perfumers rarely leave it alone. What decides how it feels is the neighbour. Next to sweet vanilla it reads as creamy, next to a dry wood it reads as skin. In my range it is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab, and it is never sold as the subject. Adaa pairs it with vetiver and cedarwood, which is the driest company available here.
Tip: Do not read the base in isolation. Read which two notes stand next to the musk in the pyramid.
Adaa at ₹379 sets white musk beside vetiver and cedarwood, so the musk stays dry rather than creamy or sweet.
Ambrette is a musky material taken from a plant seed, and people who love it tend to describe something warmer and slightly fruity than a white musk, a little closer to skin. I have read about it as you have, and SOSA does not use it anywhere in the range. I would rather say so on the first screen than let you buy an attar hoping to find it. If you have worn ambrette and loved it, the honest thing is to tell us what it smelled like and let us say whether anything here is in the same territory. Nothing is built to be.
Tip: If a seller claims an ambrette-style effect, ask which material they used and whether it is in the published list.
Ameeri at ₹385 is the warmer direction in the range, with amber and soft oudh, but it is not an ambrette attar and I will not say it is.
Sandalwood musk is a creamy wood beside a quiet musk
A sandalwood musk is the pairing that feels like warm skin, because sandalwood is creamy and soft and the musk keeps it from turning sweet or resinous. The version in my range is SOSA Ameeri: Indian sandalwood sits in the heart, over a base of soft oudh, amber and white musk. That makes it richer than a plain sandalwood-musk, and it carries some oudh, so it is a step further from a pure skin scent than Adaa. For clarity, every one of my attars is carried on a sandalwood and jojoba base; that is the carrier, listed because it is in the bottle.
Tip: If you want the sandalwood to lead rather than the musk, this is the composition to try first.
Nawaab at ₹399 also lists Mysore sandalwood, but in the top beside oud and tobacco, which is a different effect from a soft sandalwood-musk.
Musk does not have a character of its own so much as it takes one from the notes standing next to it: dry beside vetiver, creamy beside sandalwood, lost beside oud.
That is why a three-way choice between musk types cannot be answered as a list of materials. It can only be answered as a list of neighbours, and the three neighbours in my range are vetiver and cedarwood, rose and sandalwood, or oud and leather.
Musk next to dry wood, the closest to skin: Adaa at ₹379: bergamot, cardamom and neroli over three white flowers, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. The lightest of the four attars, no oudh, in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml.
The table is arranged by what stands over the musk, because that is what changes how it feels. It includes the two rows that are plain absences, so you can see where the range stops and where it starts.
The SOSA plan
The musk you asked for, and what sits above or beside it in SOSA
The musk, and what kind of floor it is
What SOSA has, said plainly
Ambrette-style musk: a warm, slightly fruity plant-seed musk
Not in the range. No attar or perfume oil uses ambrette, and no other note should be presented as a substitute. If this was the one you wanted, say so and we will tell you honestly.
White musk as the whole fragrance
Not in the range either. There is no musk soliflore of any kind. White musk exists only as a base note under other materials.
White musk beside vetiver and cedarwood: dry, skin-like
Adaa. Bergamot, cardamom and neroli above, three white flowers in the heart, no oudh. The nearest the range comes to a musk that reads as skin. View →
Sandalwood over musk: creamy, warm, a little rich
Ameeri. Indian sandalwood and Taif rose in the heart over soft oudh, amber and white musk. Warmer than Adaa and carrying some oudh, so closer to perfume. View →
White musk under oud, amber and leather
Nawaab. The musk is in the base and the oud leads. Included for completeness, and not a soft or skin-like answer. View →
Musk under sandalwood and rose, warmer and fuller: Ameeri at ₹385: saffron, pink pepper and bergamot, Taif rose and Indian sandalwood, then soft oudh, amber and white musk. It carries some oudh and reads as perfume sooner than Adaa.
Dry musk or sandalwood over musk: pick the neighbour
The fork is what stands next to the musk. Adaa puts vetiver and cedarwood beside it and carries no oudh. Ameeri puts rose, sandalwood, amber and soft oudh around it. Choose the word you meant.
Two rows, because there are two honest answers. The note beneath them says what neither is, and what Nawaab is for, so the choice is made with the absences in plain view.
The SOSA specification for a soft, skin-like musk
Adaa for dry musk, Ameeri for sandalwood over musk
Both rows start on the 3ml: Adaa at ₹379 or Ameeri at ₹385. The larger sizes are ₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml, ₹1,149 for 12ml for Adaa and ₹385 for 3ml, ₹679 for 6ml, ₹1,165 for 12ml for Ameeri, and they are a purchase for after a week of wearing, not instead of one. To be exact about the gaps: ambrette is not in the range, there is no musk soliflore of any kind, and white musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab and never the whole composition. SOSA Nawaab has it too, under an oud-led top, and is the wrong choice for this brief. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin and nothing further; how long any fragrance lasts depends on skin, dose and the day. A patch test on first use is the only skin advice we give. Nobody can promise you how a musk will sit on you, and I will not. There is a contact page and a person who replies: Ask for an attar recommendation.

A note from Sonal
When someone asks me for the one bottle that is just musk, I understand exactly what they want, and I have to tell them I do not make it. Musk, in everything I have built, is a floor. I use white musk because it makes a base feel finished, and I have never made an attar where it is the whole story. I would rather say that first than have anyone buy a bottle and spend a week looking for the thing they had asked for.
The ambrette question is the same kind of honesty. It is a lovely material and I know why people look for it. I do not use it, so I will not let a page imply otherwise. What I can do is describe the three compositions where musk does appear: Adaa where dry wood stands beside it, Ameeri where sandalwood and rose sit above it, and Nawaab where it is carried under oud. That is a smaller menu than the question wanted and an honest one.
The advice is small. One 3ml, one dab, three ordinary days, and a judgment at hour three, when only the base is left on your skin. If the base is what you meant by musk, you will know. Nobody can promise you how it will sit on you, and I would sooner say so. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Is there any ambrette in a SOSA attar?
No. Ambrette is not used in any of the four attars or the six perfume oils. It is a plant-seed musk material that some people love, and the honest position is that nothing in the range is built around it. If it is what you are after, tell us what you have worn and we will say plainly whether anything here comes near.
Can I buy white musk by itself?
No. There is no white musk attar and no musk soliflore of any kind. White musk is a base note in SOSA Adaa, SOSA Ameeri and SOSA Nawaab, under other materials. Adaa is the one where it is most exposed, beside vetiver and cedarwood, and it carries no oudh.
Is Ameeri a sandalwood musk?
Close, with two caveats. Indian sandalwood is in its heart and white musk is in its base, so the pairing is there. But the base also holds soft oudh and amber, and the top has saffron and pink pepper, so it is richer and warmer than a plain sandalwood-musk and carries some oudh.
Why not choose Nawaab, since it has white musk?
Because the musk is not what you smell. Nawaab is oud-led, with white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf on top and amber, leather and white musk beneath. It is the deepest of the four and suits a reader who wants that, not a soft, skin-like fragrance.
How do I test which musk neighbour I prefer?
Buy the 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379, apply one dab, and read it at hour three, not at the opening. Then, if you want sandalwood in the picture, do the same with a 3ml of SOSA Ameeri on another day, not the same day. Two ordinary days will tell you more than a month of reading.
Musk under oud and leather, not the brief: Nawaab at ₹399: white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, saffron and aged tobacco leaf over amber, leather and white musk. The deepest of the four, and a fine attar for a very different reader.
SOSA — A Dry Muskone 3ml of Adaa, one dab, read at hour three rather than at the opening
SOSA Adaa at ₹379 is Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. SOSA makes no ambrette composition and no musk soliflore, and Ameeri is the sandalwood-over-musk alternative if that is the picture you hold. Alcohol-free, hand-blended in Pune. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali.

Facts verified 16 October 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: SOSA makes four attars, all alcohol-free, DPG-free roll-on perfume oils on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, hand-blended in Pune and sold in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml, with a stated wear of 6–8 hours on skin: Adaa (top Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom, neroli; heart jasmine sambac, magnolia, ylang ylang; base white musk, vetiver, cedarwood; no oudh) from ₹379, Ameeri (top Persian saffron, pink pepper, bergamot; heart Taif rose, Indian sandalwood; base soft oudh, amber, white musk) from ₹385, Mastani (top litchi, bergamot, pink pepper; heart night-blooming jasmine, Damask rose; base Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla, tonka) from ₹389 and Nawaab (top white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron, aged tobacco leaf; base amber, leather, white musk) from ₹399, plus the Attar Trio (Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani) from ₹1,055. White musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab; SOSA makes no pure musk soliflore and uses no ambrette. SOSA also makes no clean-linen, cotton or laundry accord, aldehydic-soapy scent, single-note green or vetiver soliflore, lavender or herbal-spa scent, incense-resin scent, or tuberose.
