The keychain is not failing because it is inexpensive. It is failing because it is portable, and it was built to be. It goes into a pocket at the handover, onto a hall table that evening, and into the drawer where the last three are already lying. Buying a heavier one with a better logo plate changes the material and leaves the reason untouched. An in-car object has the opposite property: it has one fitted position, it does not travel, and it is doing its job on the first drive without anyone deciding to begin. The published retail band for a SOSA hanging car perfume is ₹449 to ₹509, which is the number to run your own arithmetic against.
SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 499
SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume · 12ml · mild scent-throw ₹499 →
The workhorse of a handover line. SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume, ₹499 for 12ml - the citrus least likely to be objected to by somebody who never chose it, and available as the mild hanging or the stronger spray at exactly the same ₹499. It is fitted during pre-delivery checks, so unlike a keychain it never enters a pocket.
Quick answers — read this first
Why do dealership keychains feel forgettable? Because the object is designed to leave the car. A keychain is carried, and what it is carried to is a pocket and then a drawer. There is also a quieter problem: the keyring already has the car's own fob on it, and few people add bulk to the thing they carry daily for something they did not ask for. An in-car object at ₹449 to ₹509 is not competing for that space at all.

What affordable car gift does a customer start using immediately? A hanging car perfume clears the three things that stop day-one use: nothing to unwrap, nothing to install and nothing to decide. It can be fitted during pre-delivery checks, so it is on the mirror before the customer opens the door. Jasmine is ₹449, Lemon ₹499, Oud ₹509.

Is the quieter format the cheaper one? No, and this surprises most people planning a handover line. The mild hanging and the stronger spray of the same scent cost exactly the same. Choosing the quiet one saves nothing, so the format decision is purely about scent-throw and about who controls the dose.
The short answer
Short answer: Because a keychain is portable it leaves the car, and the keyring already carries the vehicle's own fob. An object fitted inside the car is used by default rather than by intention. SOSA hanging car perfumes are Rs 449 to Rs 509 at published retail prices, in eight scents.
The pick: A mild hanging from ₹449, fitted to the mirror during pre-delivery checks rather than handed across a desk.
Why: It has one position in the vehicle and no second home to be moved to, so first use happens on the first drive whether or not anybody at the desk remembered to mention it.
Sending something when somebody is having a hard time - at a glanceKeep it small - candle ₹399, attar ₹379, car scent ₹449For their home - reed diffuser ₹749, nothing to switch onSay the words yourself - no card goes in the parcelNever - a parcel instead of turning up
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
Straight answer
What should a dealership give at vehicle delivery instead of a keychain?
Something that cannot be carried out of the car, and the reasoning is mechanical rather than sentimental. A keychain is an object whose whole purpose is travel; the moment it is handed over it begins moving away from the vehicle, and the drawer it ends in is the drawer every other showroom keychain is already in. A hanging car perfume is fixed to a mirror during pre-delivery checks, which means there is no handover moment to forget, no packaging to open and no decision for the customer to defer on a day when they are signing things. The published retail prices are Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, and Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509 for 12ml. Be clear about two limits before you plan around any of it. SOSA publishes no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume discount and no commercial term of any kind - those are the retail prices a walk-in customer pays, and quantity is a conversation on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than a figure on a page. And nobody can tell you what a gift does to your numbers; what this page can tell you is what the object is, where it sits and where it fails. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
A keychain leaves. That is not a flaw in the keychain - it is the job description. The only fix is an object with nowhere else to go.
The replacement, in one line: the mild hanging from ₹449, fitted before the customer arrives. Same price as the stronger spray, so nothing is saved by choosing the quiet one.
Hanging car perfumes from ₹449

Why the keychain fails, and what the object replacing it has to do

Most dealerships answer a forgettable keychain by buying a better keychain. That is an expensive way to test the wrong hypothesis. Three things decide whether the replacement works, and none of them is the unit price.

1
The defect
The problem is portability, not price
Heavier metal, a leather tab, a crisper logo plate: these are the usual upgrades, and they improve an object whose failure has nothing to do with quality. The keychain is forgettable because of what it is for. It is built to be carried, and the place it is carried to is not the car. Pocket, hall table, drawer, and the drawer already contains three.

There is a second and quieter problem that rarely gets said out loud. A keyring is contested space with very few useful slots, and the vehicle's own fob is already in the one that matters. Your gift is not competing with nothing; it is competing with the key the customer cannot afford to lose, and most people will not add bulk to something they handle every single day for an object they did not ask for. The nicer you make it, the heavier it usually gets, which makes the problem slightly worse.

An object that lives in the car sidesteps the whole contest. It is not asking for a slot, it is not asking to be carried, and it is not being weighed against a key.
Tip: Improving the keychain improves the material and leaves the reason it fails exactly where it was.
2
The requirement
What 'starts using it immediately' actually demands
Immediately is a stricter word than it sounds. For an object to be in genuine use on day one it has to clear three hurdles: nothing to unwrap, nothing to install, and nothing to decide. Most handover gifts die on the third. A boxed item asks the customer where it should go and when they will get to it, and a decision deferred on a day as crowded as taking possession of a vehicle is a decision that never gets made.

A hanging car perfume clears all three for an unusual reason: it can be fitted during pre-delivery checks, before the customer is anywhere near the vehicle. There is no handover moment, so there is nothing to defer. It is on the mirror when the door opens. If you want it acknowledged, one sentence at the desk does it; if your sales executive forgets entirely, the object still works. Very few gifts survive being forgotten by the person giving them.

It is worth being precise about what this is and is not. It adds a scent to an enclosed space. It does not remove, mask or neutralise anything, and no page should tell you otherwise.
3
The arithmetic
Affordable, and what the number actually covers
The published hanging prices, all 12ml: Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. Eight scents, one band, and that is the figure to set beside whatever your current keychain line costs you.

Two things belong in that arithmetic. First, the stronger spray of the same scent costs exactly the same as the mild hanging - Lemon is ₹499 either way - so you never save by choosing the quieter object and the format question is purely about scent-throw. Second, what is not published anywhere: no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no volume discount, no dispatch window, no payment term. Bulk orders are welcome, and what a quantity becomes is settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 instead of being printed here.

If you want the branded version, the whole of the offer is a custom label or logo on product. There is no custom box, no printed sleeve and no gift wrap service, so the object arrives as the retail object with your label if you want one.
Tip: Run the sums on the published ₹449 to ₹509 band, then take the quantity question to WhatsApp.
SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 499
The decision this whole category turns on
Hanging or spray is a scent-throw choice, not a budget choice
Every SOSA car scent is sold in two formats at the same price: the hanging is the mild scent-throw, the spray is the stronger one. Jasmine is ₹449 either way, Lemon ₹499 either way, Oud ₹509 either way. So the question is never which one you can afford - it is who controls the dose. Hand a car to somebody whose taste you have never asked about and the mild hanging is the safer object, because a person who finds a sealed car too loud cannot turn a scent down, only take it out.
See the SOSA car fragrance range →
Work it out in this order
How to retire the keychain without repeating the mistake
  1. Ask where your current gift ends up. If the answer is a drawer, change category.
  2. Pick an object with one fitted position in the car, not one the customer carries.
  3. Choose the mild hanging over the spray. Same price, and nobody asked the customer.
  4. Do your own sums on the Rs 449 to Rs 509 list, then discuss quantity on WhatsApp.
The SOSA principle
The keychain is not a bad gift. It is a gift whose function is to leave, given at the exact moment you wanted something to stay.
Every other argument about material, weight and logo plating is downstream of that, which is why upgrading the keychain has never fixed it for anybody.

Which scents to carry when nobody has asked the customer

Eight scents exist in the hanging format and they are not eight versions of one idea. Jasmine at ₹449 is the lowest-priced and the most conventionally pleasant. Sandalwood and Lavender at ₹479 read as considered rather than functional. Icy Mint at ₹489 is the sharpest, and the one most people describe as clean rather than scented. Lemon at ₹499 is the workhorse citrus and the least likely to be objected to by somebody who did not choose it. Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at ₹509 carry the strongest character, which makes them excellent self-purchases and the riskiest default for a stranger's car. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is worth knowing for a different reason: it is a spray only, with no hanging format at all.

The SOSA gift edit
Four things dealerships hand over at delivery, and where each one goes afterwards
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
A hanging car perfume · ₹449 to ₹509 Fitted during pre-delivery checks, so nothing is handed over and nothing is opened. It is in use on the first drive by default. It fails if you carry more scents than you can count, if somebody picks the most distinctive one for a customer nobody asked, or if that customer already runs their own car fragrance and now has two.
A better keychain · the usual response Heavier, nicer, and it fails in exactly the same place, because the upgrade addresses the material and not the function. The keyring already holds the fob the customer must not lose, and the new tab competes with it for a slot nobody wants to give up. It does not fail loudly; it simply travels away.
A phone holder or a tyre gauge · the useful option Genuinely used by the people who need one, which is the catch: you are making a purchase decision for somebody who may already own it. It also arrives boxed, so it waits for a free weekend, and a fair number never get fitted at all.
A document folder or insurance pouch · the practical option Useful storage and an invisible gift. It goes into the glovebox with the paperwork, which is the one compartment nobody opens unless something has gone wrong. It is the right object if what you wanted was tidy paperwork, and the wrong one if you wanted the customer to notice anything.
SOSA car hanging freshener refills, 15ml, from Rs 399
What happens after the gift
The 15ml refill is bigger than the 12ml bottle and costs less than a new unit
Refills run ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, and ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud - against ₹449 to ₹509 for the unit itself. This matters for one honest reason and not the flattering one: a gift that can be continued without being sold to is a different object from a gift that simply runs out. Whether anybody continues it is up to them, and no supplier can promise you they will.
See the 15ml refills →

One thing worth knowing before you build a line around this. SOSA publishes 15ml refills at ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, and ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud. The refill is larger than the 12ml bottle it refills and costs less than buying the unit again, which means the customer who liked what you fitted can carry on without anyone selling them anything. That is the honest version of the thing people usually overclaim: not a promise about behaviour, just a product with somewhere to go next. Whether anybody takes it up is genuinely not something a supplier can tell you, and any supplier who does is guessing.

from ₹699
When one particular car is not part of the programme
SOSA Safar ₹3,999 for a car, SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 for the building it is parked at
Safar is the waterless, cordless, rechargeable cold-diffusion perfume diffuser for a car or a travel bag - ₹3,999 for the SOSA-scent trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios. It is not a volume gift and should not be described as one; it is what a business reaches for when a single handover genuinely warrants it. Vaayu is the same waterless idea sized for a building: cold-air nebulising of undiluted oil, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and timer, a 400ml tank, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, DC 12V / 1A 5W mains power and CE, RoHS and SGS marks - which makes it a showroom or workshop question rather than a gifting one. Both run waterless nebuliser oil at ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm, and neither takes the ₹299 water-based Hotel Collection bottle. No runtime, battery life or coverage figure is published for Safar. Both add a scent to a space; neither removes one.

You cannot buy anybody's goodwill for ₹449, and a supplier who says otherwise is selling you a story rather than a bottle. What ₹449 buys is an object that is used rather than stored. That is a much smaller claim, and it is the only one that survives contact with a drawer.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.

Choose the format on scent-throw first, because it does not change the price

SOSA hanging car perfumes Eight scents, 12ml, mild scent-throw Hangs from the mirror and is already working when the recipient first sits down - nothing to unwrap, install or learn from ₹449
SOSA car perfume sprays The same scents, stronger throw Exactly the same price as the hanging, so the choice between them is scent-throw and not budget - the recipient doses it themselves from ₹449
Car hanging freshener refills 15ml, eight scents Larger than the 12ml bottle it refills and cheaper than buying the unit again, so a gifted hanging has somewhere to go afterwards ₹399 to ₹449
SOSA car perfume combos Two scents in one box Jasmine & Lemon and Jasmine & Lavender ₹899, Oud + Lemon and Sandalwood & Oud ₹949 - hanging or spray at the same price from ₹899
Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set Three sprays in one set ₹699 to ₹899 depending on the trio, or all nine sprays at ₹2,999 - the one to send when nobody can ask about taste from ₹699

SOSA attars Alcohol-free roll-on oil Worn rather than driven, and a taste decision - only when somebody can name what the recipient already wears from ₹379

Every price above is the published retail price on the live SOSA product page, which is what any business should build its own arithmetic on. SOSA does not publish a bulk rate, a minimum order quantity, a slab, a dispatch window or any commercial term, and nothing on this page should be read as one. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; quantities and everything commercial are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than priced on a page. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune and sends orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

The honest price sheet
What SOSA publishes, and what SOSA does not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Hanging car perfumes, 12ml - Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. Eight scents in the hanging format.
  • The same scents as sprays, at the same price. Hanging is the mild scent-throw, spray is the stronger one, and they cost the same - so the choice is about who controls the dose, not about money. Mysore Orange Blossom ₹549 is a spray only and has no hanging format.
  • Refills, 15ml - ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud. Larger than the 12ml bottle, and cheaper than buying a new unit.
  • Combos and sets - two-scent combos ₹899 to ₹949, the Discovery Set of three sprays ₹699 to ₹899, all nine sprays ₹2,999, and 50ml sprays ₹1,499. SOSA Safar ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios.
  • Duration - the only car product publishing a figure is Mysore Orange Blossom: 10ml is about 100 sprays lasting about 3 months, 50ml is about 500 sprays lasting about a year or more. Those numbers belong to that spray and to nothing else. No duration is published for the hanging format.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any bulk rate, minimum order quantity, slab or volume discount; any dispatch, delivery or cut-off timing; any payment, invoicing or credit term; case packs, carton sizes or unit weights; any claim that a gift will change a customer's behaviour, a survey score or a repeat rate; and any claim that a fragrance removes, neutralises or purifies anything. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

A note from Sonal

The businesses that write to SOSA about car fragrance almost never open with a question about fragrance. They open with a question about a drawer. Somebody ordered five hundred of something last year, and most of it is still sitting in a drawer at the back of the showroom, and nobody wants to repeat that.

What makes a car product different from the keychain and the diary is not that it is nicer. It is that there is nowhere to put it away. A hanging perfume is hanging. It is not in a bag to be taken home and forgotten; it is in the one enclosed space the person is going to sit in tomorrow morning. That is an argument about geometry rather than about generosity, and it is the only argument for this category I am willing to make.

The thing I would push back on hardest is the instinct to buy the strongest one. When you are choosing on somebody else's behalf, and you will never meet most of them, the mild hanging is the correct choice and it costs exactly the same as the spray. A person who finds a scent too loud in a sealed car cannot turn it down; they can only take it out. Quiet is what lets a gift survive contact with a stranger's taste.

And the part I will not pretend about: I cannot tell you this will bring anyone back. No fragrance house can honestly tell a business what a gift will do to its numbers. What I can tell you is what the product is, what it costs, and what happens when somebody likes it enough to buy the refill themselves - which is the only loyalty any of us actually earns.

Frequently asked questions

Why do customers ignore dealership keychains?
Because a keychain is a portable object and the place it is carried to is not the car. It goes into a pocket, onto a table at home and then into a drawer. There is also a practical obstacle: the keyring already carries the vehicle fob, and few people add bulk to the item they handle every day for something they did not ask for. Making the keychain heavier or nicer does not change either problem.
What is the cheapest SOSA car gift for a dealership handover?
The Jasmine hanging car perfume at Rs 449 for 12ml is the lowest-priced item in the hanging range. The full band runs Rs 449 to Rs 509, with Sandalwood and Lavender at Rs 479, Icy Mint at Rs 489, Lemon at Rs 499, and Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at Rs 509. Those are published retail prices, and no bulk rate or minimum order quantity is published anywhere.
Should we give the hanging or the spray version at delivery?
The hanging, when the customer has not been asked what they like. Both formats of the same scent cost exactly the same, so this is not a budget decision at all. The hanging is the mild scent-throw and the spray is the stronger one, and somebody who finds a sealed car too strong has no way to reduce it other than taking the product out.
Can the gift be fitted before the customer arrives?
A hanging car perfume can be fitted during pre-delivery checks by whoever is already inside the vehicle, so it is on the mirror when the door opens and nothing is handed over loose. That removes the handover step rather than adding one, which matters more than the price on a busy delivery day.
Can the label carry our dealership logo, and how do we discuss quantity?
A custom label or logo on product is available and that is the entire branding offer. There is no custom box, no printed sleeve, no insert card and no gift wrap service. Bulk orders are welcome and no quantity is too small or too large to ask about, but nothing about rates, quantities or timing is published on a page. Message SOSA on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.

SOSA has no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mysuru or any other city, and nothing on this page should be read as claiming one; where a city is named, it refers to the businesses and the cars in that city and nothing more. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent and does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify odour, and no SOSA product makes any health, antibacterial, air-purifying or wellbeing claim, nor any claim about being suitable for children, pets or any medical condition. No claim is made anywhere on this page about what a gift will do to a business result - not to a satisfaction or survey score, not to repeat business, referrals, reviews, retention or recall. Those outcomes depend on the business and not on a fragrance, and no fragrance house can honestly promise them. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel. No duration is published or implied for the hanging format. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
