- 1 The recommendation on this page is ₹0 for the second bottle. A reader who rarely dresses up and prefers a quiet fragrance is not short of range; they are short of occasions, and no purchase fixes that.
- 2 One dab and two dabs are two settings of the same bottle, and the distance between them is wider than the distance between several pairs of attars in this range. Most readers have never deliberately tried the smaller one.
- 3 Adaa is the lightest composition in the range - Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, closing dry on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood, with no oudh anywhere in it. At ₹669 the 6ml is the right size for a bottle worn most days.
- 4 The published wear is 6-8 hours on skin, which is the only performance figure SOSA has for any attar. A morning application is usually still present in the evening, which is part of why a second bottle so often goes unused.
- 5 The three-attar pack is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at ₹1,055, and SOSA's own product page calls it the evening attar trio - the trio for the evenings that matter. Three evening bottles is the wrong answer to a question about rarely having evenings.

SOSA Attar Trio · 3 x 3ml ₹1,055Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani - what SOSA's own page calls the evening attar trio, the trio for the evenings that matter. Excellent for a reader with many evenings, and the wrong purchase for a reader with fewView the Trio →
What do I wear to the rare formal event, then? The bottle you already own, applied more carefully: two dabs rather than one, wrists and the base of the throat rather than a single wrist, put on twenty minutes before you leave rather than on the way out. That is a real change in how a composition behaves. If an event is genuinely important and you want something with more weight underneath it, Nawaab at 3ml ₹399 is the smallest sensible purchase - but buy it for the event, not for the wardrobe.
Should I buy the three-attar set instead of one bottle? It is three bottles in one decision, and it is not an answer to your question. The three-attar pack is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at ₹1,055, and SOSA's own product page calls it the evening attar trio - the trio for the evenings that matter. It is exactly that, and very good at it. Three evening bottles is the wrong purchase for a reader who rarely has evenings.

Counting the occasions, which is the whole of the decision
Do this before anything else, and do it on the last twelve months rather than on the twelve to come, because the coming year always looks more sociable than it turns out to be. Count the evenings that were genuinely dressed - where you changed clothes for them and would have thought about fragrance. Weddings count. A reception counts. Dinner at a friend's flat usually does not, however pleasant, because your ordinary bottle at an ordinary dose was fine for it and nobody was thinking about scent.
If the number comes out at two or three, you have your answer and it is the one at the top of this page. If it comes out at eight or ten, the second bottle is reasonable and the rest of this family of pages is where to go. If it comes out at four or five, you are at the boundary, and the thing I would do at the boundary is buy the second bottle in the smallest size and let the following year decide - a 3ml used five times is a bottle doing its job, and if it turns out to be used twice you have spent very little finding out.
The reason I put this count before any discussion of composition is that composition is the interesting part and frequency is the part that decides. I have had the same exchange dozens of times: a reader asks which two attars suit their day and their evening, I ask how many evenings, and the answer reorganises the whole conversation. It is a dull question and it has saved more money than anything else on this site.
Four reasons you will be given for the second bottle
| The claim you will see | Why nobody can know it | What can honestly be said instead |
|---|---|---|
| Never mind how often you dress up - a proper wardrobe needs a day bottle and an evening bottle | Nobody can know what your week looks like from a product page, and the claim is about an imagined reader rather than a real one. A wardrobe is a description of a set of occasions, not a target to be hit | I would put it the other way round: count your occasions and buy to fit them. A one-bottle life is a perfectly good life and it is the commoner one, especially among readers who describe their own taste as subtle |
| A subtle fragrance will be lost at a formal event | There is no way to know how a composition is received in a room nobody has described to me, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. What can be said is that a lighter base recedes across a long wearing where a heavier one builds | If the event is long and hot, base weight is a genuine consideration and that is the one honest argument for a second bottle. It is an argument for an occasion purchase, not for a permanent second slot on a shelf |
| Wearing one bottle every day means you stop registering it, so you need a second | This is partly true about anyone's own nose and it is not an argument for a second bottle - it is an argument for wearing less of the one you have, since a smaller dose is easier to notice afresh than a larger one | The cheap version of this fix is to skip a day or two a week and to apply one dab rather than two. If after that the bottle still reads as background to you, that is a reason to change the bottle rather than to add one |
| The three-bottle pack is the sensible upgrade from buying a single bottle | Three bottles in one decision is a convenience rather than a reason to own them. The pack is three warm attars, and SOSA's own page describes it as an evening set rather than anything else | Three evening bottles bought by a reader with three dressed evenings a year is not a saving. If you want the set, buy it in a year when the evenings have arrived, and buy one bottle now |
One composition, two doses - the thing the second bottle was for
An oil attar is unusually good at this, and it is worth understanding why. There is no atomiser deciding your dose: there is a wand and your own hand, so you can put a measured amount on a measured place and repeat it exactly tomorrow. A spray gives you roughly the same amount every time whether you want it or not. A dab applicator gives you a dial, and the dial is free.
So the practical version of a day-and-evening wardrobe, for you, is one bottle and two settings. One dab inside one wrist for an ordinary day. Two dabs - both wrists and the base of the throat - for the rare evening, applied twenty minutes before leaving so that the opening has passed and what you are wearing out of the door is the heart rather than the top. Those are genuinely different wearings, and the second one is what you would otherwise have bought a whole bottle to achieve.
One honest limit, which I would rather state than bury. Dose changes how much of a composition is present, not what it is made of. If the rare occasion genuinely calls for amber and oud underneath - a long evening in a warm room - then more of a dry musk-and-cedarwood bottle will not produce it, and that is the single real argument for a second purchase in your case. Buy it for the event, in the 3ml, and do not describe it to yourself as building a wardrobe.
What the second bottle would have been, if you had needed one
| The pair | Overlap | Verdict | Shared published materials | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Adaa + Nawaab | 0.07 | The widest contrast in the range | white musk only | This is the two-bottle answer for a reader whose evenings are real: white musk in common and nothing else, the widest separation four attars allow. Noted here so you can see exactly what the ₹0 recommendation is declining. |
| Adaa + Ameeri | 0.13 | Genuine contrast | bergamot and white musk | The gentler version of the same split, for a reader whose rare events are dinners rather than receptions. Bergamot and white musk in common, and a smaller step. |
If and when the count changes - a year with a wedding season in it, a new job with client dinners, a move to a city where you go out more - the top row is where to start, and the 3ml of Nawaab at ₹399 is the whole of the purchase. That is a decision for a future year rather than for this page, and nothing about buying one bottle now makes it harder.
What I would do, which costs nothing
| What to spend on a second attar | ₹0. At three dressed evenings a year it would be worn three times and stored for the other three hundred and sixty-two days |
| The free substitute | Two dabs instead of one, wrists and the base of the throat, applied twenty minutes before you leave. That is the evening setting of the bottle you already own |
| If you own nothing yet | One bottle, in the larger size: the Adaa 6ml at ₹669, the lightest composition in the range and the one that suits a quiet daily wearing |
| If you would rather test first | The Adaa 3ml at ₹379, and the 6ml as the reorder once you know it is the one |
| If a particular event genuinely needs weight | The Nawaab 3ml at ₹399 - bought for the event, in the smallest size, and not described to yourself as a wardrobe |
| What I would not sell you | The three-attar pack at ₹1,055. It is SOSA’s evening attar trio, it is excellent as that, and it is three evening bottles for a reader with three evenings |
Versailles
I have sold two bottles to readers who needed one, and I can tell when it has happened because they come back eleven months later asking what to do with the one they never wear. It is always the evening bottle. It is always bought with real enthusiasm. And it is almost always bought by somebody who, when I eventually asked, went to three dressed events a year.
So I started asking the frequency question first, before composition, before preference, before anything. It is a dull opening to a conversation about perfume and it changes the answer more often than any other question I ask. A reader with four evenings a month and a reader with four evenings a year are not two versions of the same customer; they are two different problems, and only one of them is solved by buying something.
The part that still costs me money is the sizing advice. One bottle in the 6ml rather than two in the 3ml is less revenue and a better outcome, and I would rather write it down than hope nobody notices. If your life changes - a wedding season, a job with client dinners, a move - the second bottle will still be here and it will be the right purchase then.

On the overlap figures in this guide. Where this guide says two SOSA attars overlap, the figure is derived from their own published note pyramids by counting shared materials against total materials, grouping them the way a nose groups them: Taif rose and Damask rose are both rose, Persian and Kashmir saffron are both saffron, jasmine sambac and night-blooming jasmine are both jasmine though they read differently. It is a measure of shared ingredients, not a measure of how similar two finished compositions smell to you - two scents can share five materials and still be told apart on a wrist. The figures are here because they are checkable against the product pages, and because the alternative is a seller's opinion about its own range. Across the four attars: Ameeri and Nawaab share the most (saffron, sandalwood, oudh, amber, white musk); Ameeri and Mastani are close behind (bergamot, pink pepper, rose, sandalwood, oudh); Adaa and Nawaab share the least, white musk alone.
On the Attar Trio. SOSA's three-attar pack is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, and SOSA's own product page describes it as the evening attar trio - the trio for the evenings that matter. This guide recommends it on that basis and no other. It is not described here as a balanced wardrobe, because it is drawn from the two most overlapping pairs in the range and it does not include Adaa, which is the attar that contrasts most with the others.
What this guide does and does not claim. SOSA publishes one performance figure for its attars: they wear 6-8 hours on skin, longer on warm or oily skin, always as a skin scent rather than a room scent. SOSA publishes no projection, sillage or scent-radius data, and none appears here. Nothing about layering is published by SOSA and no combination has been formally evaluated, so anything this guide says about wearing two scents together is Sonal's own craft assessment, marked as such wherever it appears, and never a promise about what a combination will smell like on you. SOSA makes no claim about compliments, attraction, confidence, mood, sleep, stress or wellbeing, no claim about what another person will notice or think, and no medical, dermatological or allergy claim; anyone with sensitive skin or a fragrance allergy should patch-test and use their own judgement or consult a doctor.
Facts verified 19 October 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: every SOSA attar is an alcohol-free, DPG-free oil perfume carried on sandalwood and jojoba oil with a built-in dab applicator, hand-blended in Pune, sold in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml. SOSA Adaa (3ml ₹379 · 6ml ₹669 · 12ml ₹1,149): Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood - the only one of the four with no oudh. SOSA Ameeri (₹385 · ₹679 · ₹1,165): Persian saffron, pink pepper and bergamot over Taif rose and Indian sandalwood, on soft oudh, amber and white musk. SOSA Mastani (₹389 · ₹685 · ₹1,179): litchi, bergamot and pink pepper over night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose, on Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla and tonka. SOSA Nawaab (₹399 · ₹699 · ₹1,199): white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf on amber, leather and white musk - oud-led, and the deepest in the range. The three evening attars come together as the SOSA Attar Trio (₹1,055 · ₹1,859 · ₹3,189). Separately, SOSA makes six perfume oils in 10ml, 50ml and 100ml - Zaffran, Tabac Noir and Samundar at ₹599, ₹1,799 and ₹3,499, and Khayaal, Chashni and Bahaar at ₹599, ₹1,899 and ₹3,599 - each an independent SOSA composition inspired by a widely known fragrance and not affiliated with, or endorsed by, the house named. SOSA does not run a sampler or tester programme; the 3ml attar is the trial size. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
