SOSA Founder Diaries · Safar ownership
The operational fact in retail is not proximity on its own - plenty of jobs are close-quarters. It is repetition without consent. The same dose, applied once, met at arm's length by forty or sixty people across a shift, none of whom chose to stand near it and most of whom will never say a word about it either way. That is the question, and the first honest thing on this page is that the published record has no figure for it in either direction.
Answer in brief
- Which musk, woody or fresh attar should I compare? None of the three is a product. There is no white musk attar to buy. White musk is a published base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab, which means it sits inside a composition rather than in a bottle of its own. For a musk-and-dry-woods brief the composition to read is Adaa, at ₹379 for 3ml, whose base publishes white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. The attar pages carry no family label of the kind the car fragrance pages carry. What they publish instead is a three-tier pyramid, a mood line, a gender line, an occasion line, a self-assigned strength figure and a wear time.
- Will forty customers a day notice it? There is no published answer and no honest one available. SOSA publishes no projection figure and no sillage figure for any attar, so no page of mine will turn a strength figure into a distance. That cuts both ways, and it is the sentence this whole cluster wants me to break. A page that promised you one of these carries to the next person, or promised you that it does not, would be inventing the same missing figure twice. What exists is a self-assigned score out of ten and a wear time of 6 to 8 hours on skin.
- What should I actually control, then? The amount, because it is the only variable in your hands. The published applicator is a built-in dab applicator, which is worth one sentence here because it is the only part of this that you hold: how much goes on is decided by your hand at the moment you apply it, and by nothing printed anywhere. All four publish the same wear time, 6 to 8 hours on skin, longer on warm or oily skin, and nothing beyond that figure is published.
The short answer
No musk attar, woody attar or fresh attar exists as a product: those are notes and labels, and white musk is a published base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab while the attar pages carry no family label at all. For a musk-and-dry-woods brief, Adaa publishes white musk, vetiver and cedarwood in its base at Rs 379 for 3ml, with a self-assigned 8.5 and 4.9 from 98 published customer reviews. No projection figure exists in either direction, so the amount at the dab is the real control.
The claim this page refuses, in both directions: that a customer at the counter will or will not pick anything up. SOSA publishes no projection figure and no sillage figure for any attar, so a reassurance and a warning would be the same invented number in different clothes. You asked a fair question and the fair answer is that nobody has published it.

- Questions people ask
I work in retail and meet customers at close range all day. Which musk, woody or fresh attar profiles should I compare while considering fragrance sensitivity?
Let me name the fact in your job that makes your question different from a lawyer's or a founder's, because it changes what matters. You apply once. Then that single decision is presented, at a counter's width, to forty or sixty people you have never met, over and over, for a whole shift. Nobody in that queue chose to be near you, nobody is going to mention it, and you will never find out. Repetition without consent and without feedback: that is the shape of it, and it is the reason your question deserves a straighter answer than the usual reassurance. So here is the straight answer. I am spelling that out because your question is the one that pulls hardest at the comfortable sentence, the one that says a counter is far enough, and that sentence is exactly as unpublished as its opposite. If you read it on a product page anywhere, somebody made it up. Now the three words you offered, which need recutting before they can be compared at all. There is no white musk attar to buy. White musk is a published base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab, which means it sits inside a composition rather than in a bottle of its own. There is no woody attar either, and no fresh attar: those are directions rather than bottles. The attar pages carry no family label of the kind the car fragrance pages carry. What they publish instead is a three-tier pyramid, a mood line, a gender line, an occasion line, a self-assigned strength figure and a wear time. So the comparison you asked for is a comparison of tiers, and here it is. Adaa is the one that carries your musk-and-dry-woods brief in a single tier. Adaa publishes Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli in its opening, jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang in its heart, and white musk, vetiver and cedarwood in its base. White musk, vetiver and cedarwood in the base, in a tier Adaa's page labels a clean composure drydown, with a clean lifted opening of Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli above it. Adaa's mood line reads light, elegant, composed, distinctive without being loud. Adaa publishes its occasion line as office hours, business lunches, daytime weddings, meetings and summer wear. Adaa's published strength figure is 8.5, the lightest end of the range. It is ₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml and ₹1,149 for 12ml. Adaa carries 4.9 from 98 published customer reviews. Those are customer reviews Sonal collated over WhatsApp, which is why I quote the count beside the figure rather than the figure on its own. Adaa publishes its gender line as unisex, and the most genuinely gender-fluid attar in the range. White musk is also published in Ameeri's base, beside soft oudh and amber, and in Nawaab's base, beside amber and leather - three bases, three different sets of companions, and the companions are what make the three bottles different. Ameeri publishes Persian saffron, pink pepper and bergamot in its opening, Taif rose and Indian sandalwood in its heart, and soft oudh, amber and white musk in its base. Nawaab publishes Kashmir saffron, black pepper and cardamom in its opening, white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood and aged tobacco leaf in its heart, and amber, leather and white musk in its base. Mastani is the one pyramid of the four that does not publish white musk at all. Mastani publishes litchi, bergamot and pink pepper in its opening, night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose in its heart, and Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean in its base. And the thing you can actually do something about, which on your page is the whole practical answer. The published applicator is a built-in dab applicator, which is worth one sentence here because it is the only part of this that you hold: how much goes on is decided by your hand at the moment you apply it, and by nothing printed anywhere. Forty people meet the same dose because you only get to set it once, at the start of the shift, so set it deliberately. All four publish the same wear time, 6 to 8 hours on skin, longer on warm or oily skin, and nothing beyond that figure is published. The strength figures are SOSA's own self-assigned scores out of ten, on a scale SOSA invented and nobody else uses: Adaa 8.5, Ameeri 9.0, Mastani 9.2 and Nawaab 9.5. Your own employer's rule is the one that settles this, and it is the one thing here you have to check yourself. All four are the same format: a concentrated oil attar with a built-in dab applicator, carried in sandalwood oil and jojoba, alcohol-free and DPG-free. Sonal Sahani trained at ISIPCA, Versailles, she designs all four attars herself, and she signs off every small batch by hand in Pune. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Repetition without consent: what is published, what is recut, what is yours
Three parts, and they come apart cleanly. The claim your question invites is refused in both directions, the three words you used are notes rather than bottles, and the only live variable is the amount.
Repetition without consent - the comfortable sentence, refused both ways
Forty people at a counter's width is not the same problem as one room for six hours, because none of these forty opted in and none of them will tell you. The temptation on a page like this is to say nobody will pick it up. What you can hold onto is this: the record is honest about its own limits, and the two published quantities - a score out of ten and 6 to 8 hours on skin - are real, checkable and not distances.
No reach figure exists, in either direction. That is the whole position.
Musk, woody, fresh - three directions, none of them a bottle
There is no white musk attar to buy. White musk is a published base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab, which means it sits inside a composition rather than in a bottle of its own. The attar pages carry no family label of the kind the car fragrance pages carry. What they publish instead is a three-tier pyramid, a mood line, a gender line, an occasion line, a self-assigned strength figure and a wear time. So the comparison runs through tiers rather than through categories. Adaa publishes white musk, vetiver and cedarwood in its base. Ameeri publishes white musk with soft oudh and amber in its base and Indian sandalwood in its heart. Nawaab publishes white musk with amber and leather. Mastani publishes none, and its base carries Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean instead. Four bases, four different answers, all printed. Adaa's published strength figure is 8.5, the lightest end of the range.
The amount - the one variable a shift actually lets you set
The published applicator is a built-in dab applicator, which is worth one sentence here because it is the only part of this that you hold: how much goes on is decided by your hand at the moment you apply it, and by nothing printed anywhere. On your page this is not a footnote. Everything else here is fixed by the time you clock in: the pyramid is printed, the score is printed, the wear time is printed, and the queue is the queue. The dose is the exception, it is set once, and forty people meet whatever you decided. Adaa's published strength figure is 8.5, the lightest end of the range.
A built-in dab applicator. One decision, met forty times.
Nobody in the queue chose to stand near your fragrance and nobody is going to mention it. That is why the comfortable sentence - they will not notice - has to be refused here along with its opposite: neither one is published.
A score out of ten and 6 to 8 hours on skin. No distance, either way.
Adaa's published pyramid, tier by tier
Adaa publishes Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli in its opening, jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang in its heart, and white musk, vetiver and cedarwood in its base. Adaa's mood line reads light, elegant, composed, distinctive without being loud. Adaa publishes its occasion line as office hours, business lunches, daytime weddings, meetings and summer wear. Adaa publishes its gender line as unisex, and the most genuinely gender-fluid attar in the range. Adaa's published strength figure is 8.5, the lightest end of the range. It is ₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml and ₹1,149 for 12ml. Adaa carries 4.9 from 98 published customer reviews. Two of its three tier labels carry the word clean in SOSA's own wording - a clean lifted opening and a clean composure drydown - which is the nearest the record comes to your word fresh. The heart between them is jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, labelled soft white florals, and a reader who asked for musk and woods should know that tier is in there.
Adaa 3ml is ₹379 and the 12ml is ₹1,149, and white musk is published in the base either way.
View SOSA AdaaYour shift, set against what is actually published
| What you are deciding | What is actually published |
|---|---|
| Forty strangers at a counter's width | No published figure, in either direction. SOSA states no projection and no sillage for any attar, so neither a reassurance nor a warning is available from the record. The published quantities are a score out of ten and 6 to 8 hours on skin. |
| A musk attar | Not a product. White musk is a published base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab. Adaa's base pairs it with vetiver and cedarwood at ₹379 for 3ml; Mastani is the one pyramid that does not publish it. |
| A woody or fresh attar | Neither is a product and neither is a SOSA label. The attar pages carry no fragrance family label at all. Adaa's base publishes vetiver and cedarwood, and two of its tier labels use the word clean. |
| Fragrance sensitivity at work | Not a position SOSA publishes and not one this page takes. Your own employer's rule is the one that settles whether you wear anything, and the amount you apply is set by your hand at the dab. |
The other three pyramids, so that the comparison you asked for is actually available on one page. Ameeri publishes Persian saffron, pink pepper and bergamot in its opening, Taif rose and Indian sandalwood in its heart, and soft oudh, amber and white musk in its base. Ameeri's mood line reads warm, festive, opulent, never theatrical. Ameeri publishes its occasion line as Diwali, Eid, Karwa Chauth, family weddings and festive dinners. Ameeri's published strength figure is 9.0, the festive warm middle of the range. It is ₹385 for 3ml. Ameeri carries 4.9 from 104 published customer reviews. Nawaab publishes Kashmir saffron, black pepper and cardamom in its opening, white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood and aged tobacco leaf in its heart, and amber, leather and white musk in its base. Nawaab's mood line reads regal, refined, long-wearing, never aggressive. Nawaab publishes its occasion line as weddings, boardrooms, important evenings and signature wear. Aged tobacco leaf sits in Nawaab's heart and leather in Nawaab's base, both printed. Nawaab's published strength figure is 9.5, the deepest in the SOSA attar range. It is ₹399 for 3ml. Nawaab carries 4.9 from 86 published customer reviews. Mastani publishes litchi, bergamot and pink pepper in its opening, night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose in its heart, and Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean in its base. Mastani's mood line reads sensual, romantic, never sweet, never sharp. Mastani publishes its occasion line as anniversaries, date nights, evening receptions and signature wear. Mastani's published strength figure is 9.2, the sensual depth end of the range. It is ₹389 for 3ml. Mastani carries 4.9 from 112 published customer reviews. Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean are published in Mastani's base and in no other pyramid in this range, so a reader who dislikes sweetness can rule one bottle out on published words and keep the other three.
Nobody in the queue chose to be there and nobody will ever tell you. That is the fact in your shift, and it is exactly why the reassuring sentence has to be refused along with the alarming one.
Four steps for a shift behind a counter
- Accept the gap: no reach figure is published, in either direction.
- Do not look for a note sold as a bottle. Find it in a published base.
- Read Adaa's base: white musk, vetiver, cedarwood, a clean composure drydown.
- Set the amount once at the dab, then pick a size: Adaa 3ml Rs 379.

From the founder
I am Sonal Sahani, and I compose every SOSA fragrance myself in Pune. I would rather tell you what we measure than guess at what we do not. If a number is not on the product page, you will not find it invented here.
Buy the composition, not the note
White musk is a published base note in three of the four attars. Adaa pairs it with vetiver and cedarwood; Nawaab pairs it with amber and leather.

The 15ml hanging refills are ₹399 to ₹449 depending on the scent. Mysore Orange Blossom is a spray only and has no refill in that range.

Will customers at the counter notice an attar?
There is no published answer, in either direction, and I will not invent one. SOSA publishes no projection figure and no sillage figure for any attar, so a page that promised you it carries, or promised you it does not, would be making up the same missing number twice. What is published is a self-assigned score out of ten and a wear time of 6 to 8 hours on skin.
Which SOSA attar is the musk attar?
None of them, because there is no musk attar. White musk is a published base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab, and Mastani is the one pyramid of the four that does not publish it. For a musk-and-dry-woods brief the composition to read is Adaa, at Rs 379 for 3ml with 4.9 from 98 published customer reviews.
Who actually makes these attars?
Sonal Sahani, who founded SOSA and trained as a perfumer at ISIPCA, Versailles. She composes all four attars herself, and every small batch is hand-blended in Pune and signed off by her before it goes out. The attar pages publish that training outright, which is the honest answer to why a hand-blended Pune attar is worth reading about at all.
What about fresh? Is there a fresh attar?
No, and there is no fragrance family label on any of the four attar pages, so there is nothing to shortlist under that heading. The nearest printed words are Adaa's own tier labels: a clean lifted opening of Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli, and a clean composure drydown of white musk, vetiver and cedarwood.
How do I keep it light across a long shift?
The amount is the only part of this you set, and you set it once: the published applicator is a built-in dab applicator, so the dose is decided by your hand at the moment of application. The published wear time is 6 to 8 hours on skin, longer on warm or oily skin, and no reapplication schedule exists anywhere in the range.
