How? A Vaayu (₹11,999) holds the public zone; Sukoon units (₹1,899) make each bedroom its own private zone.
The rule: zones must share a note — cedar or white tea — or the house reads as several houses.
2. Treat public and circulation as one. Entrance, living, dining and the corridor spine flow into each other, so they should carry one scent from one machine. A Vaayu at ₹11,999 does exactly this.
3. Make each bedroom its own private zone. A Sukoon at ₹1,899 per room, because private zones are the only ones that should differ from each other.
4. Give neighbouring zones a shared note. Cedar runs through the Ritz-Carlton-inspired, Westin-inspired and 1 Hotels-inspired; white tea through the Ritz-Carlton-inspired, Westin-inspired and Shangri-La-inspired. A shared note is what stops five zones reading as five houses.
5. Leave the service zone alone. Kitchen, utility and storage want extraction and air, not fragrance layered on top.

The five zones a villa actually supports
The temptation with a big house is to treat every room as its own statement. It does not work, for the same reason a restaurant menu with forty dishes does not work: distinction requires contrast, and past a certain count everything is contrasting with everything and nothing registers. Five zones is the practical ceiling, and most villas are better at four.
Building each zone
Zone by zone, with the machine, the scent and the reasoning. The scents are starting positions from the Hotel Collection Pack of 7 — the structure matters more than the specific bottle.
| Zone | What it covers | Machine | Scent |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Arrival + public ★ | Entrance, living, dining | Vaayu · ₹11,999 | The house signature — Ritz-Carlton-inspired |
| 2. Circulation | Corridors, landings, stairs | Extend the Vaayu; Boond ₹899 if needed | The same signature — never a second scent |
| 3. Private — master | Master suite | Sukoon · ₹1,899 | The St. Regis-inspired — warm, low, private |
| 4. Private — other bedrooms | Each further bedroom | Sukoon · ₹1,899 each | Occupant's choice; Westin-inspired for guests |
| 5. Service | Kitchen, utility, storage | None | Extraction and ventilation, not fragrance |
| Optional: en-suites | Bathrooms, dressing rooms | Boond · ₹899 | A lighter version of that bedroom's scent |

Making the transitions read as designed
Everything about zoning that works, works at a threshold. Standing in a room, you stop registering its scent within a few minutes; walking from one zone into another, you register the change immediately. So the quality of a zoned villa is decided almost entirely by what happens in the second after a door — and that means the relationship between adjacent scents matters far more than the merit of any one of them.
The rule that makes it cohere is a shared note. Cedar runs through the Ritz-Carlton-inspired (white tea, bergamot, cedar), the Westin-inspired (white tea, aloe, cedar) and the 1 Hotels-inspired (cedarwood, vetiver, green leaves). White tea runs through the Ritz-Carlton-inspired, the Westin-inspired and the Shangri-La-inspired (jasmine, green tea, white tea). Build neighbouring zones from scents that share one of those and the transitions feel like movement within one house. Build them from unrelated scents and each doorway is a small argument.
The second rule is direction. Zones should get quieter and warmer as you go inward — clean and lifted at the entrance, warm and low in the master bedroom. A villa that is most strongly scented in its private rooms and neutral at the door has it backwards, and the effect is subtle but genuinely disorienting: the house feels like it is trying hardest where nobody is watching.
The SOSA villa edit
What zoning actually requires, in buying order. Note how much of it is decisions rather than purchases.

| 2. Sukoon × bedrooms | Each private zone | The only zones that should differ from each other | ₹1,899 each |
| 3. Pack of 7 | The palette for all zones | Lets you choose neighbours that share a note | ₹1,799 |
| 4. Boond | Long circulation, en-suites | Extends a zone — never starts a new one | ₹899 |

| Buy nothing for: the service zone | Kitchen, utility, storage | Extraction and airing, not fragrance | — |
Versailles
The best-scented large house I have ever walked into had three scents in it, not nine. What made it feel designed was that you noticed the change exactly twice — once coming in off the drive, and once going from the corridor into the bedroom wing. Both times it felt intentional.
The houses that do not work are almost never underscented. They are zoned to death — every room its own idea, so the whole thing reads as noise. If you take one thing from this, take the corridor rule: circulation extends a zone, it never starts one.
Everything is made and supported from Pune, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. You get a home that smells like somewhere you chose; a girl gets a classroom. That equation has always felt right to me.
