Two bottles give a home a rhythm; three give it a repertoire. Fresh for the day, warm for the night, and one bolder scent for when there's company — that's the trio I'd build for almost any home. It's the sweet spot: enough range to feel considered, few enough that every bottle earns its place.
Quick answers
Which three? Fresh, warm and bold — a Westin-inspired daytime, a Ritz-Carlton-inspired evening, a W Hotels-inspired hosting scent (₹299 each).

How many machines? One Sukoon (₹1,799) runs all three.
The short answer
Short answer: pick three by job, not by whim — one fresh daytime, one warm evening, one bolder hosting (or a seasonal trio: summer / monsoon-winter / occasion). Choose for contrast, never three variations on one.
The pick: three Hotel Collection styles (₹299 each), one Sukoon (₹1,799).

Choose by job, not by whim

The trap when you're buying three at once is picking three scents you like the smell of in the shop — which, if you have a type, tends to mean three soft florals or three fresh citruses. That leaves you owning, effectively, one scent three times. The fix is to choose each bottle by the job it does in a room, so that the three contrast rather than crowd each other.

The trio I recommend most often is fresh, warm and bold. A fresh scent for ordinary daytime, when you want the home aired and awake. A warm scent for the evening, when you want it settled and enveloping. And a bolder scent held back for when there's company — a proper arrival note that says the evening is an occasion. Three clearly different characters, three different moods, and no overlap.

The sweet-spot trio
Three jobs, three styles
The job The feel you want Cast (Hotel Collection style)
Fresh · everyday Clean, aired, awake — the ordinary day Westin-inspired white-tea, or 1 Hotels-inspired green-citrus
Warm · evening Settled, enveloping — quiet nights in Ritz-Carlton-inspired floral-woody, or Shangri-La-inspired soft oriental
Bold · company Confident, memorable — a real arrival W Hotels-inspired, or St. Regis-inspired for classic elegance

Prefer to frame it by weather? A seasonal trio works on exactly the same logic — a fresh citrus for summer, a warm woody or oriental for the monsoon and winter, and a comforting or festive scent for occasions. Time of day, mood or season: the principle is always three contrasting characters, not three shades of the same one. And, as ever, these are SOSA's own interpretations by feel — independent, not affiliated with any hotel.

Why three, and not five straight away

Three is the number I steer most homes toward because it's the point where variety and use are in balance. Two covers morning and night. Three adds the occasion — the guests, or the season — which is almost always the next real need. Beyond three you're into a fuller five-scent wardrobe, and that's worth it only if you genuinely want mood-by-mood range; buy five before you've lived with three and you'll end up with half-used bottles ageing on a shelf. Build to three, live with it, and add the fourth and fifth if and when a real moment asks for them.

The SOSA principle
Three scents, chosen for contrast, is the smallest wardrobe that feels complete.
Fresh for the day, warm for the night, bold for the company. One Sukoon runs all three, and the home is dressed for almost anything.

One machine, three moods

Three fragrances do not mean three diffusers. A single Sukoon runs all three — empty it, rinse it, pour in the next mood, about a minute's work — so the same 500ml machine becomes a different scent whenever you want. Keep the three bottles on a small tray beside it and you choose the mood the way you'd choose what to wear. The only reason to add a second Sukoon is if you want two rooms scented differently at once: a fresh scent greeting people in the living room while the bedroom holds something warm.

Two honest caveats. Fragrance crowns clean, aired, dry air — three bottles won't cover cooking, damp or a stale room, so fix the source first. And the Sukoon is ultrasonic, adding a little humidity: in coastal cities or the monsoon, run it in thirty-to-sixty-minute sessions rather than continuously. If you find you want one signature running for hours across a large or humid whole home, the waterless Vaayu is the honest step up — but for a trio you rotate through, a Sukoon run in sessions is exactly right.

Three scents chosen well beat ten chosen badly. Pick for contrast, and the home never smells like itself twice in a row.

Frequently asked questions

Which three hotel-inspired fragrances should I choose?
The most useful trio is fresh, warm and bold: a fresh daytime scent (a Westin-inspired white-tea or 1 Hotels-inspired green-citrus), a warm evening scent (a Ritz-Carlton-inspired floral-woody or Shangri-La-inspired soft oriental) and a bolder hosting scent (a W Hotels-inspired signature). That covers ordinary days, quiet nights and having people over. Each SOSA Hotel Collection fragrance is ₹299 and all three run on one Sukoon.
Why is three a good number of home fragrances?
Three is the sweet spot: enough variety to dress the home for daytime, evening and company, but few enough that every bottle gets used before it ages. Two covers morning and night; three adds an occasion scent for guests or a season, which is usually the next real need. Beyond three you're into a fuller five-scent wardrobe, which is worth it only if you genuinely want mood-by-mood range.
How do I make sure three fragrances don't overlap?
Choose them by job, not by which ones you happen to like the smell of in isolation. One fresh, one warm and one bold are three clearly different characters that do different things in a room. If you find yourself drawn to three scents that are all soft and floral, you effectively own one scent three times, so deliberately pick for contrast.
Can I frame my three fragrances around the seasons instead?
Yes. A seasonal trio works just as well: a fresh citrus for summer, a warm woody or oriental for the monsoon and winter, and a comforting or festive scent for occasions. Whether you frame the three by time of day, by mood or by season, the principle is the same — three contrasting characters rather than three variations on one.
Do three fragrances need three diffusers?
No. One Sukoon runs all three, one at a time. Empty it, rinse it and refill with the next scent in about a minute. You would only add a second Sukoon if you wanted two rooms scented differently at the same moment, for example a fresh scent greeting guests in the living room while the bedroom holds something warm.

Notes: The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels — SOSA is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand, and the style names describe a feel rather than any hotel's actual scent. Ultrasonic diffusers such as Sukoon add mild humidity; in coastal and monsoon conditions run them in sessions or choose a waterless system for long runs. Fragrance crowns clean, dry, well-aired air and does not mask damp or odour; fix ventilation first. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
