Large dealerships get quoted six or eight machines and need three. The reason is that quotes are written off floor area and showrooms are built tall, so here is the actual arithmetic: cubic metres per connected volume, divided by what each machine honestly covers, with the areas that should never be scented removed first.
Quick answers — read this first
How many scent machines does a large car dealership need? Usually three: one for the main hall and one each for the customer lounge and the delivery bay. Work in cubic metres. A 5,000 sq ft showroom at a six metre ceiling is roughly 2,800m³, which is one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the central air handling rather than several small machines. A lounge or delivery bay of a few hundred square metres is one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) each, since the Vaayu covers 1000m³.
How do I calculate scent machine coverage for a showroom? Multiply length by width by ceiling height to get cubic metres, then divide by the machine rating. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is rated at 1000m³ and the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) at 3,000m³. Showrooms are glass-fronted and tall, so a modest floor area can hold two or three times the air you would expect, which is why floor-area rules of thumb over-order machines and under-deliver coverage.
Is one machine enough for a 10,000 sq ft dealership? It depends entirely on the ceiling and on how the air is divided. If 8,000 of those square feet are one hall on one air handling system at a normal height, one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) can carry it. If the site is a hall plus a closed lounge plus a delivery bay plus a service waiting area, that is four separate bodies of air and one machine cannot reach across closed doors.
The short answer
Short answer: usually three. A 5,000 sq ft main hall at six metres is about 2,800m³, which is one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the central air handling, and the customer lounge and delivery bay take one SOSA Vaayu each (₹11,999, rated 1000m³). The count comes from cubic metres of connected air, not from floor area or room count.
The pick: the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) for the main hall on the HVAC, with a SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for each enclosed zone such as the lounge, the delivery bay or a far corner the airflow reaches last.
Next step: send the floor plan with ceiling heights and the AC zoning marked, and we will return the count in writing - book a free scenting plan.
A large dealership usually comes out at one Angaan and two Vaayu. The number that decides it is cubic metres of connected, conditioned air, and the fastest way to reduce it is to take the areas that should be ventilated off the list.
The large dealership shortlist - tap either machine
How many scent machines does a 5,000 to 10,000 sq ft car dealership actually need?
Three, in most large dealerships. Here is how that number appears. Start with the main hall and measure it as length times width times ceiling height. A 5,000 sq ft showroom is about 465m², and at a six metre ceiling that is roughly 2,800m³ of air. One SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is rated to 3,000m³ and connects to the building's central air handling, so it carries that whole hall on the airflow you are already paying to run. Trying to do the same volume with small wall units means five or six of them, each one strong near itself and weak everywhere else. Then count the volumes the hall's air cannot reach. A customer lounge behind a door is one. A delivery or handover bay is another. A service waiting area is a third if you have one. Each of those is a few hundred cubic metres and takes one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), rated to 1000m³. Sales cabins opening off the main floor normally need nothing at all, because they sit on the same air loop. Now subtract. The workshop, wash bay and paint area never enter the count, and the service reception should not either until its extraction and door are sorted, because oil, rubber and solvent are a ventilation problem and fragrance laid over them gives you both at once. That is how a quote for eight machines becomes an honest specification for three. If a single connected volume comes out past 3,000m³, the answer is the Angaan on the HVAC plus one Vaayu covering the zone the airflow reaches last, and we will confirm that from your drawings on a free scenting plan. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Cubic metres per connected volume, divided by 3,000 for the Angaan and 1000 for the Vaayu. Most large dealerships land on one Angaan and two Vaayu.
For a large main hall the honest answer is one SOSA Angaan - an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³ (about 8,000-10,000 sq ft), with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and under 42dB running. Add a Vaayu for each enclosed zone the hall's air cannot reach.
The count only ever uses two machines. The Angaan carries the main hall from the air handling; the Vaayu covers each enclosed zone that sits behind a door. Both pictures link to the product page so your projects team can check coverage against your own volumes.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³ - roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft. 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules, under 42dB. Connects to the building's air handling and carries scent on the existing airflow, or works standalone wall-mounted.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³ - about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. 400ml tank up to 75 days, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, key-lock for public floors. One per enclosed zone.
On very large or awkwardly shaped floors, one Vaayu at the far end finishes the job the HVAC starts, set a step lower so the two do not stack where they meet.
3,000m³ coverage (roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft), 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules, under 42dB. Connects to the building's HVAC and carries scent on the existing airflow, and also works standalone wall-mounted or lay-flat. Made in India.
Three steps produce the count, and the third one is the step that saves the most money: measure the volumes, split them by air handling, then delete everything that should be ventilated rather than scented.

Convert floor area into cubic metres
The ceiling is doing more than half the work
Take the main hall in metres. A 5,000 sq ft floor is 465m². At 3.5 metres that is 1,630m³, at five metres it is 2,325m³, and at six it is 2,790m³. Same floor plan, nearly double the air. Showrooms are built tall and glazed to be seen from the road, so this is not an edge case, it is the normal case. Do the multiplication before you look at any product page. Then divide: 3,000m³ per Angaan, 1000m³ per Vaayu, rounding to whole machines and being honest about the remainder.
Tip: write the ceiling height on the drawing before anyone quotes you for machines.
The Angaan is rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, which covers most single-hall showrooms outright.
Two spaces are one volume only if the air genuinely moves between them. An open showroom where the display floor, the reception and the accessories counter share one air loop is a single volume and a single machine. A customer lounge with its own door and its own split unit is separate however close it sits. A delivery bay with a shutter is separate again, and it also loses air every time the shutter goes up. Walk the site and count how many times you can close a door behind you. That number, not the room count, is your machine count.
Each enclosed zone takes one Vaayu at 1000m³, with its own schedule and its own intensity from the app.
This is where a quote for eight becomes a specification for three. The workshop, the wash bay and the paint area are never scented, because solvent, rubber and exhaust are stronger than any diffuser and layering fragrance on them produces both smells at once. The service reception is the honest grey area: if it shares air with the bays it needs a self-closing door, extraction and the airflow pushed the right way before fragrance is worth discussing. Do that work, then scent the service waiting lounge where customers sit. You will have removed two or three machines from the quote and improved the building.
Tip: if the room has a ventilation problem, a diffuser is not a discount on fixing it.
Once the count is clean, the Angaan handles the main volume on the building's own airflow, evenly, from one point.
A large dealership does not need more machines than a small one. It needs bigger ones in the right place and none at all in the places that need extraction.
Every quote I have ever been shown for a 10,000 sq ft site was priced off floor area. None of them had asked how tall the room was.
For each zone behind a door: SOSA Vaayu, 1000m³ coverage, 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, app timers and key-lock for public floors, ₹11,999.
The whole count fits in one table. Big connected volume on central air handling goes to the Angaan; every enclosed zone behind a door goes to a Vaayu; the workshop side gets nothing at all.
The SOSA plan
Large dealership sizing - the count in one table
Your volume
What it needs

One SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the central air handling. View →
Customer lounge or service waiting area behind a door
One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), rated 1000m³, run one step softer than the hall. View →
Delivery or handover bay
One Vaayu, scheduled to handover appointments rather than left running all day. View →
A far corner or mezzanine the hall's airflow reaches last
One additional Vaayu, set a step lower so the two do not stack where they meet. View →
The arithmetic here is the same arithmetic used for any tall, glazed, high-value showroom space, which is why our guide to sizing a luxury sales gallery reaches identical numbers from a different building. The dealership-specific part is what you take out of the count rather than what you put in. Once the count is agreed, the next two decisions are placement and settings: how to choose the machines covers the specification side, and where they should be installed covers the mounting points.
For the main hall: SOSA Angaan connects to your HVAC and scents up to 3,000m³ - about 8,000-10,000 sq ft - with an 800ml reservoir, metal body and programmable schedules, ₹25,999.
SOSA Angaan ₹25,999 covers up to 3,000m³ on your HVAC. Send the plan with ceiling heights and AC zoning and we will put the machine count in writing before you buy.
Two machines cover every large dealership count. The Angaan carries the main hall from the building's own air handling; the Vaayu takes each enclosed zone behind a door. Both are waterless, so there is no damp and no residue on paintwork, chrome or glass, and both are made in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA large dealership specification
Three machines, in the order the count produces them
A quick word on the count: it is driven by cubic metres of connected air, not by floor area, room count or budget. Adding machines to a volume that already has enough coverage makes the building smell uneven, not stronger. And the honest note - fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never instead of it. It cannot cover solvent, tyre or exhaust smell on the workshop side, so extraction comes first and scent goes into the customer-facing rooms. Send the drawings for a free scenting plan.

A note from Sonal
Almost every large dealership I am asked to look at has already been quoted, and the quote is almost always for too many machines. It is not dishonesty, it is arithmetic done on the wrong number. Somebody took the floor area, divided it by a coverage figure printed on a box, and pressed send. Nobody asked how tall the room was, and in a car showroom the height is where most of the air lives.
Do it in cubic metres and the answer usually shrinks. A 5,000 sq ft hall at six metres is about 2,800m³, which is one Angaan on the central air handling at 3,000m³, not six wall units. Then one Vaayu at 1000m³ for each space behind a closed door - the lounge, the delivery bay, the service waiting area. Three machines for a building that was quoted eight, and it will smell better than the eight would have.
The part that saves the most is what you take out. The workshop, the wash bay and the paint area are not scenting jobs, they are extraction jobs, and I will not sell a machine into one. If your service reception smells of oil and brake cleaner, the fix is a self-closing door and air pushed the right way, then scent the waiting lounge. Fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never in place of them, and I make no claim that it influences whether anyone buys a car. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
How many scent machines does a large car dealership need?
Usually three. One SOSA Angaan (Rs 25,999) carries the main hall from the central air handling at up to 3,000 cubic metres, and one SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999) each covers the customer lounge and the delivery bay at 1000 cubic metres apiece. Sales cabins opening off the main floor normally need nothing, and the workshop side is never counted at all.
How do I work out the coverage my showroom needs?
Multiply length by width by ceiling height in metres to get cubic metres, then divide by the machine rating. A 5,000 sq ft floor is about 465 square metres, which is 1,630 cubic metres at a 3.5 metre ceiling and about 2,790 at six metres. That is why two showrooms with identical floor plans can need completely different machines.
Can one machine cover a 10,000 sq ft dealership?
Only if that 10,000 sq ft is genuinely one connected body of air on one air handling system at a normal ceiling height. In practice a large dealership is a hall plus a lounge plus a delivery bay plus a service waiting area, and air does not travel through closed doors, so each of those needs its own machine.
Should the workshop and service bays be included in the machine count?
No. Oil, rubber, solvent and exhaust cannot be covered by fragrance, and a diffuser installed there produces both smells at once. Those areas need extraction, air movement and a properly sealed door between them and the customer areas. Once that is done, scent the service waiting lounge rather than the bays.
Is it cheaper to buy several small machines instead of one large one?
It is usually more expensive and always less even. Six small units in one hall each create a strong pocket near themselves and a weak zone between, and you then have six tanks to refill instead of one 800ml reservoir. For a single large connected volume, one machine sized to the air is both cheaper to run and better to stand in.
The smaller zones in the count: One SOSA Vaayu per enclosed volume, same fragrance as the main hall, one step softer. ₹11,999.
