Seven hundred and fifty square feet is the first size where I cannot answer from the floor area alone. Two things take over: whether the shop is genuinely one connected body of air, and where the stockroom door opens. Get those two right and the product almost chooses itself.
Quick answers — read this first
How do I scent a 750 sq ft designer-footwear store? It depends on two things rather than on the square footage. First, whether the floor is one connected volume: a standard-ceiling 750 sq ft room holds roughly 230 cubic metres of air, which sits below the floor a commercial nebuliser is built for, so reeds by zone or a Sukoon near the entrance remain the honest specification. Second, the ceiling. Designer stores are often double-height, and a 750 sq ft room with a five-metre void holds nearly 350 cubic metres with most of that air above head height, where a point source at floor level cannot reach it. That is the case where a wall-mounted machine starts to be arguable.
Does the stockroom door really matter more than the product choice? In most 750 sq ft stores, yes. The stockroom holds the highest density of boxes, adhesive and new rubber in the building, and it vents onto the shop floor every time the door opens - which on a busy day is constantly, because at this size the stockroom is usually being worked hard. If that door opens mid-floor into your best display run, no fragrance decision survives it, and adding scent on top gives you a room that smells of both. Fit a self-closing door, run extraction if you can, keep the stockroom slightly negative in pressure to the floor, and then choose a register.
When would you actually specify a machine at 750 sq ft? In three situations. When the store is genuinely double-height or has a deep plan with a far wall that no point source is reaching. When the owner needs control that reeds cannot give - run windows matched to trading hours, adjustable intensity, and a key-lock so the level cannot be nudged upward on a difficult afternoon. And when a free-standing source has nowhere sensible to stand, because a wall or HVAC mount puts the source where the air actually moves. Coverage alone does not justify it at this size, and we would say so rather than specify it in.
The short answer
Short answer: It turns on volume rather than floor area. A standard-ceiling 750 sq ft store holds about 230 cubic metres of air and is still below the floor a commercial nebuliser is built for, so reeds by zone or one Sukoon near the entrance is the honest specification. A double-height designer space is a different question, because most of its air sits above head height where a point source cannot reach it. And the stockroom door outranks both.
The pick: For a standard-ceiling floor: reeds by zone, or one Sukoon (₹1,899) at the entrance with Mountain Breeze (₹849) deeper in. Only if the store is double-height or genuinely deep does one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) become arguable.
Next step: Send us the ceiling height, the plan and a note of where the stockroom door opens, and we will tell you which side of the edge you are on - ask for a store scenting plan.
This is the first size in the family where two stores with identical floor areas get different answers, and the difference is ceiling height and a door.
What is the right scenting setup for a 750 sq ft designer-footwear store?
This is the first size in the family where I cannot answer from the floor area, and it is worth being explicit about why. Coverage is volumetric. A machine is rated in cubic metres of air, and a square-foot figure is only that number translated at an assumed ceiling height - so a double-height floor holds far more air than its plan suggests, and a mezzanine is a separate volume rather than extra capacity for the floor below. A 750 sq ft store with an ordinary three-metre retail ceiling holds roughly 230 cubic metres of air. The SOSA Vaayu is rated at 1000 cubic metres, so at a standard ceiling you are still at about a quarter of what the machine is built for and the honest specification remains passive: reeds by zone, or one Sukoon at ₹1,899 near the entrance where you want something continuous and adjustable, with reeds deeper in. But designer stores are frequently not standard-ceiling rooms. A 750 sq ft space with a five-metre void holds nearly 350 cubic metres, and - this is the part that matters - most of that additional air sits above head height. A reed is a point source with no air movement behind it. It has no fan, no pump and no throw, and there is no published figure for how far a reed projects - we will not invent one. What a reed reliably does is make a fragrant zone around where it stands. A bottle on a console has no way to move air, so it cannot reach the upper half of a double-height room at all; what you get instead is a zone at the console and a large volume of untouched air overhead that keeps diluting whatever drifts up into it. That is the genuine argument for a wall-mounted machine at this size, and it is a distribution argument rather than a coverage one. The second thing that decides it is where the stockroom door opens, and in most stores of this size it outranks every product on this page. A 750 sq ft designer store works its stockroom hard: it holds the highest density of boxes, adhesive and new rubber in the building, and it vents onto the floor every time somebody fetches a size. If that door opens mid-floor into your best display run, no fragrance strategy survives it - you will simply have a room that smells of both things. A self-closing door, extraction where you can run one, and keeping the stockroom slightly negative in pressure to the floor come first, in that order, and they are worth more than anything I could sell you. So: standard ceiling, one connected floor, door under control - reeds by zone or a Sukoon at the entrance, and we would rather specify that than sell up. Double-height or a deep plan with a far wall nothing is reaching, plus an owner who wants run windows matched to trading hours, adjustable intensity and a key-lock so the level cannot drift - then one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 becomes arguable, bought for distribution and control rather than for coverage. We make no claim that any SOSA product removes, neutralises, eliminates or absorbs an odour, or that it cleans, purifies, sanitises or disinfects air - it adds scent, and that is all it does. We make no claim that scent affects sales, conversion, footfall, browsing or what anybody buys. Ask for a store scenting plan and give us the ceiling height.
Standard ceiling and a controlled stockroom door: reeds or a Sukoon. Double-height or deep, with control that matters: the machine becomes arguable, for distribution.
Where the machine does become arguable at this size, it is one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999): 1000m³, waterless, under 38dB, 5W, wall or HVAC mountable so the source sits where the air actually moves, with adjustable intensity, trading-hour timers and a key-lock.
The honest position at the edge: most 750 sq ft stores should not buy a machine, because at a standard ceiling they hold about a quarter of what one is rated for. Reeds by zone, or a Sukoon at the entrance with reeds deeper in, is the specification. The Vaayu appears below with a condition attached rather than as a recommendation, and the condition is a double-height or genuinely deep floor plus a real need for control.
500ml ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270 to 320 sq ft, sixteen to eighteen hours on low, three 15ml water-based fragrances included. ₹1,899. At 750 sq ft it holds the entrance zone while reeds carry the deeper areas. Being ultrasonic it adds a little humidity, which is worth weighing near leather and boxes.
Himalayan pine, sage and cedar, ₹849 for 50ml. Dry woods extend leather instead of competing with it, which is almost always the right register in a designer store where the material itself is doing the talking. Passive, silent, and nothing damp added near boxed stock.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated at 1000m³ - about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. At 750 sq ft it is bought for distribution and control rather than coverage: wall or HVAC mounted so the source sits in moving air, adjustable intensity, trading-hour timers, a key-lock, under 38dB and 5W. ₹11,999.
500ml ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft, running 16-18 hours on the low setting, supplied with three 15ml Hotel Collection fragrances. Water-based, so it adds a little humidity to the room.
The three things that decide which side you are on
Three things that decide which side of the edge a 750 sq ft store falls on.
1
First, the ceiling
A double-height store puts most of its air above head height
Take the height seriously, because at this size it changes the answer rather than refining it. A 750 sq ft store at three metres holds about 230 cubic metres. The same footprint with a five-metre void holds nearly 350, and the extra 120 cubic metres are all overhead. That upper air is not decoration; it is a large, slow reservoir that continuously dilutes whatever rises into it, which is why double-height rooms so often read as thin at ground level while the owner is convinced the level is set correctly. A passive source cannot address it - it has no fan and no way to move air. A wall-mounted machine at height, or one connected to the supply side of the air-conditioning, can. If your designer store has a void, a gallery or a five-metre shopfront, say so before anybody quotes you anything.
Tip: if you have a mezzanine over part of the floor, that is a separate volume, not extra height for the room below.
Where the void makes the case, the SOSA Vaayu is ₹11,999 and mounts on a wall or into the HVAC.
In most stores of this size it outranks the product decision entirely
A 750 sq ft designer store runs a hard-working stockroom, and that stockroom is where the strongest smell in the building lives: boxes, tissue, adhesive, new rubber, all at high density in a small unventilated volume. Every time somebody fetches a size, some of that air arrives on your shop floor. If the door opens mid-floor into the main display run - which is a very common plan at this size, because it is convenient for staff - you have a source that no fragrance decision can sit on top of. The order of work is fixed: a self-closing door, then extraction where you can run one, then keeping the stockroom slightly negative in pressure to the shop floor so air moves in rather than out. Only then does the register question mean anything. We make no claim that any SOSA product removes, neutralises, eliminates or absorbs an odour, or that it cleans, purifies, sanitises or disinfects air - it adds scent, and that is all it does.
Tip: stand where a customer stands, and have a colleague open the stockroom door normally. That is your finding.
Once the door is handled, Mountain Breeze is the designer-leather register, ₹849.
The four reasons to buy a machine below its coverage floor
If you do end up specifying a machine at 750 sq ft, be honest that you are not buying coverage. There are four real reasons, and they have nothing to do with square feet. Control: run windows matched to trading hours, chosen days, adjustable intensity and a key-lock so staff cannot drift the level upward over months. No water: nothing damp added near leather, boxes and a stockroom already fighting the monsoon, and no residue on glass or display. Distribution: a wall or HVAC mount puts the source where air is actually moving, which reaches a deep or tall floor that a bottle on a console never will. Uptime: a 400ml tank running up to about seventy-five days, under 38dB, at 5W - roughly a unit and a half of electricity a month on a ten-hour day. If none of those four is a real problem for you, you do not need the machine yet.
Tip: write down which of the four applies to you. If the honest answer is none of them, buy reeds.
Between the two, the Sukoon at ₹1,899 gives adjustability at the entrance without the spend.
Two 750 sq ft stores, identical plans, opposite answers - one has a three-metre ceiling and a self-closing stockroom door, the other has a void and a door that opens into the main run.
Which is why this page will not give a single specification, and why the ceiling height is the first thing we ask for.
At the entrance: The Sukoon holds roughly 270-320 sq ft, sixteen to eighteen hours on low, ₹1,899 - water-based, so weigh it against your stock.
One specification with a condition attached, because at this size there is no single honest answer. Most 750 sq ft stores want reeds or a Sukoon; a double-height or deep floor with a real need for control is the exception. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The last row carries a condition and is not this page's default recommendation: at a standard ceiling, 750 sq ft holds about a quarter of what that machine is rated for and reeds are the honest answer. We make no claim that any SOSA product removes, neutralises, eliminates or absorbs an odour, or that it cleans, purifies, sanitises or disinfects air - it adds scent, and that is all it does. Fragrance works alongside ventilation, stock rotation and cleaning, never instead of them, and is never used to mask a smell that has a source - the stockroom door comes first. We make no claim that scent affects sales, conversion, footfall, browsing or what anybody buys. If staff say it is too much, it is too much. Ask for a store scenting plan.

A note from Sonal
Seven hundred and fifty square feet is the size where I stopped being able to answer by email without a photograph. Two stores send me the same number and one of them has a three-metre ceiling and a stockroom off a back corridor, while the other has a five-metre void, a gallery and a stockroom door in the middle of the main run. They are not the same problem and they do not get the same answer.
So I ask for the section as well as the plan. If the ceiling is ordinary and the door behaves, it is reeds by zone or a Sukoon at ₹1,899 near the entrance, and I would rather sell that than a machine somebody would run at its floor. If there is a void, most of the air is over everybody's head and no bottle on a console is going to reach it - that is when a wall-mounted Vaayu starts to earn its ₹11,999.
The limits, plainly. This is a brand and interior decision, and we make no medical, hygiene or therapeutic claim of any kind. We make no claim that any SOSA product removes, neutralises, eliminates or absorbs an odour, or that it cleans, purifies, sanitises or disinfects air - it adds scent, and that is all it does. It never masks a smell that has a source, and at this size the stockroom door is worth more than anything in my catalogue. We make no claim that scent affects sales, conversion, footfall, browsing or what anybody buys. Staff judgement on level outranks mine. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
How do I scent a 750 sq ft designer-footwear store?
It depends on the ceiling and the stockroom door rather than the floor area. At a standard three-metre ceiling the room holds about 230 cubic metres of air, well below the floor a commercial nebuliser is built for, so reeds by zone or one Sukoon at the entrance is the honest specification. A double-height space holds nearly 350 cubic metres with most of it overhead, which is a different question.
Why does a double-height store change the answer?
Because the extra air sits above head height, and a reed is a point source with no air movement behind it - no fan, no pump, no way to reach air it cannot move. That upper volume keeps diluting whatever rises into it, which is why tall rooms read thin at ground level. A wall-mounted or HVAC-connected machine can address it; a bottle on a console cannot.
Where should the stockroom door be in a store this size?
Anywhere but mid-floor in the main display run, if you have a choice. The stockroom holds the highest density of boxes, adhesive and new rubber in the building and vents onto the floor every time it opens. Fit a self-closing door, run extraction where you can, and keep the stockroom slightly negative in pressure to the shop floor. That work comes before any fragrance decision.
What are the honest reasons to buy a machine below its coverage floor?
Four, and none is coverage. Control: run windows matched to trading hours, adjustable intensity and a key-lock so the level cannot drift. No water: nothing damp near leather and boxes and no residue on glass. Distribution: a wall or HVAC mount reaches a deep or tall floor a free-standing source will not. Uptime: a 400ml tank up to about 75 days, under 38dB, 5W.
How much electricity does the machine use?
The SOSA Vaayu runs at 5W, which on a ten-hour trading day works out at roughly one and a half units of electricity a month. It also runs under 38dB, which matters more than owners expect in a quiet designer store where the machine may sit close to where customers are standing and talking.
Two zones at one level: The Fresh & Grounded duo carries two registers without either being loud, ₹1,548 for two 50ml reeds.
At a standard ceiling, 750 sq ft is reeds by zone from ₹749 or a Sukoon at ₹1,899 with reeds deeper in. A void, a gallery or a deep plan with a far wall nothing reaches is the case where one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 becomes arguable - for distribution and control, never for coverage. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Tell us the ceiling height and where the stockroom door opens.
