What is cotton musk? A musk-led accord with no aldehyde lead. Softer, rounder and more skin-like than clean linen, reading as a worn garment rather than a laundered one.
What is white tea, and what is a laundry accord? White tea is light, green and faintly smoky-dry, the most abstract of the four. A laundry accord deliberately references detergent and fabric conditioner rather than fabric itself.
Four accords, four definitions
The ranking that actually helps a buyer is by how each accord fails, because all four of them do, and knowing the failure mode tells you whether you can live with it. Clean linen fails towards soap: when the aldehydes are overdosed or the base is thin, you get bathroom rather than bedroom. Cotton musk fails towards nothing: it is the quietest of the four, and a weak version simply disappears, leaving you unsure whether you are wearing anything. White tea fails towards emptiness with a sour edge: the green top goes, the dry tannic middle has nothing to stand on, and what remains can read as faintly stale. A laundry accord fails towards cheapness: the detergent reference is explicit, so the moment the materials are not excellent the whole thing reads as a supermarket aisle. Now match those to yourself. If you cannot tolerate soap, clean linen is a gamble regardless of price. If you need to be able to perceive what you are wearing, cotton musk will frustrate you. If you want something that holds its shape through a day, white tea is the wrong choice in any format and a particularly poor one in an oil. And if you associate detergent smells with comfort rather than with cheapness, the laundry accord may be the most satisfying of the four for you, which is a genuinely legitimate position that fragrance snobbery tends to dismiss.
None of the four, and what we have instead
Where we stand against the four, with no stretching. Clean linen: not made. It requires aldehydes, which an oil carrier mutes and warm storage can alter. Cotton musk: not made as a named accord, although Adaa ₹379 is the closest thing in our range, being musk-led, transparent and skin-adjacent, with bergamot and green cardamom instead of any fabric reference. White tea: not made, and the one we would most actively advise against in an oil from anyone. Laundry accord: not made, and not something we plan to make, since it is the furthest of the four from what a fine fragrance does. What we actually have: one clean attar in Adaa, three warm attars in Ameeri ₹385, Mastani ₹389 and Nawaab ₹399, and eleven solid body perfumes that are mostly gourmand. For the clean idea in a room: the Hotel Collection from ₹299 is water-based for ultrasonic diffusers and is not assessed for skin.
| Scent | Why it suits the mood |
|---|---|
| Clean linen | Aldehydic over soft floral and musk. Suggests cotton, warmth and ironing. Fails towards soap. Not made by us |
| Cotton musk | Musk-led, no aldehyde lead, reads as a worn garment. Fails towards nothing. Adaa ₹379 is our nearest, without the fabric reference |
| White tea | Light, green, faintly smoky-dry and tannic. Fails towards staleness. Not made by us, and weakest of the four in an oil |
| Laundry accord | References detergent rather than fabric, sweeter by intention. Fails towards cheapness. Not made by us and not planned |
For the three styles behind these accords, clean musk, soft floral and aldehydic styles for fresh hotel linen. For the soapiness mechanism, clean without soapy, and how. What SOSA actually makes
Every SOSA attar and solid perfume is alcohol-free and assessed for leave-on skin application. Our reed diffusers and the Hotel Collection ultrasonic fragrance are home products and are not assessed for skin. Here is the range with the honest description of each, including the families we do not make at all.
| Product | Where it sits | What it is, honestly | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Adaa attar 3ml | The clean one · closest to a hotel lobby | Bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac and a white musk accord. The only genuinely clean, airy composition in our attar range, and the honest answer to most hotel-inspired requests | ₹379 |
| Nawaab attar 3ml | Polished woods · expensive interiors | White royal oud, Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron. For wooden-interior and quiet-luxury requests rather than clean-linen ones | ₹399 |
| Ameeri attar 3ml | Warm sandalwood · heritage hospitality | Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, saffron and soft oudh. Rose inside a warm resinous structure, closest to a grand Indian hotel atmosphere | ₹385 |
| Velour solid 15g | White musk base · skin-close | Toasted almond and whipped cream over a white musk base. Soft and skin-close, and sweeter than a hotel-clean scent, which we would rather say than imply | ₹479 |
| Sterling solid 15g | Powdered musk · refined | Almond nougat and white amber over powdered musk. Refined and velvety, and genuinely powdery, so not for anyone who has told us they dislike powder | ₹469 |
| Hotel Collection 15ml | Rooms only · never skin | Water-based fragrance for ultrasonic mist diffusers. Our own interpretation of hospitality scenting, for air rather than for people | ₹299 |
Attars come in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml: Adaa ₹379 / ₹669 / ₹1,149; Ameeri ₹385 / ₹679 / ₹1,165; Mastani ₹389 / ₹685 / ₹1,179; Nawaab ₹399 / ₹699 / ₹1,199; the three-attar trio ₹1,055 / ₹1,859 / ₹3,189 against ₹1,173 / ₹2,063 / ₹3,543 bought singly. Solid body perfumes are 15g, alcohol-free, from ₹459. What we do not make as a skin fragrance: white tea, clean linen or cotton musk, lavender, vetiver, cedarwood, aquatic or marine, and pine. Several of those exist in our home range and are not assessed for skin. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Versailles
"I want to smell like a five-star hotel" is one of my favourite things a customer can say, because it tells me far more than a note list would. It tells me you want clean rather than sweet, quiet rather than loud, and expensive-feeling rather than obviously perfumed. That is a brief I can work with.
It also comes with two things I have to be straight with you about. The first is that I cannot sell you a hotel's scent. Those are proprietary compositions made for specific groups, and anybody offering you a reproduction is either guessing or doing something they should not. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel group. What I can do is work in the same fragrance families and say so honestly.
The second is harder on my own sales. Our home fragrances are not for your skin. Reed oil is assessed for evaporating from a reed in a room. The Hotel Collection is a water-based fragrance for an ultrasonic mist diffuser. Neither has been assessed for leave-on application to a person, and the exposure is completely different. I will not sell you one as the other, however much you like how it smells in your hallway.
And there are things we simply do not make. No lavender attar. No vetiver attar. No white tea, no clean linen, no cedarwood, no aquatic. Several of those scents live in our reed diffusers and stay there. If that is what you came for, I would rather tell you than sell you something adjacent and hope you do not notice. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Formulation and use: SOSA attars are formulated with an oil carrier and no added ethanol, contain no intentionally added DEP, and are assessed as leave-on fine fragrance applied to skin at their actual selling concentration. Supplier IFRA conformity statements, declarable-allergen lists and the finished-product safety assessment are available per product on WhatsApp on +91 96192 18531; formula compositions and percentages are not disclosed. Reed diffuser oil and the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance are assessed for room use and are not assessed or sold for application to skin. SOSA does not describe its products as chemical-free, hypoallergenic or safe for everyone, publishes no longevity or hour figures, and makes no claim to reproduce any hotel, spa, resort or retail brand's proprietary fragrance. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel, hospitality or fashion group. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live collection pages.
General context: Fragrance safety standards set limits by product use category, so a composition assessed for diffusion in a room has not thereby been assessed for leave-on skin exposure.
