Runner-up: Ritz-Carlton-inspired (white tea, bergamot, cedar) if you want a little more lift.
For evenings: St. Regis-inspired (amber, violet, woods) — switch to it deliberately, don't live in it.
2. Ritz-Carlton-inspired — white tea, bergamot, cedar. The same clean spine with citrus lift; choose it if your studio is dark or north-facing.
3. 1 Hotels-inspired — cedarwood, vetiver, green leaves. For a studio that should feel like a home rather than a hotel.
4. St. Regis-inspired — amber, violet, woods. Beautiful, and too much to live in. Switch to it after eight.
5. Avoid all day: Shangri-La-inspired and Four Seasons-inspired are florals, and florals plus dinner is the one combination a studio cannot hide.
All ₹299 for 15ml; the Sukoon arrives with three of your choice. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Why choosing for a studio is different
In every other home, fragrance choice is a matter of taste. In a studio it is a matter of tolerance, because the scent you choose is the scent you are in for sixteen hours a day. Three constraints follow from that, and they eliminate about half the range before taste even enters the conversation.
All seven, ranked for a studio apartment
The full Hotel Collection, judged only on how well each one works in a single-room home you also cook and sleep in. A low rank here is not a bad scent — several of these are the right answer in a 3BHK.
| Scent | Notes | Studio verdict | Best used |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1. Westin-inspired ★ | White tea · aloe · cedar | The pick — clean, dry, never tiring | All day, every day |
| 2. Ritz-Carlton-inspired | White tea · bergamot · cedar | Same clean spine, more lift | Mornings; dark or north-facing flats |
| 3. 1 Hotels-inspired | Cedarwood · vetiver · green leaves | Reads as a home, not a hotel | All day if you dislike 'hotel' scents |
| 4. St. Regis-inspired | Amber · violet · woods | Superb, but too rich to live in | Evenings, guests, deliberate switch |
| 5. W Hotels-inspired | Citrus · pepper · amber | Lively; the pepper tires in a small room | Daytime, work-from-home focus |
| 6. Four Seasons-inspired | Citrus · floral · sandalwood | The sandalwood saves it; floral fights dinner | Weekends, when you are not cooking |
| 7. Shangri-La-inspired | Jasmine · green tea · white tea | Lovely — and the least studio-friendly | Bathrooms via a Boond, or a 2BHK |

The morning/evening switch
This is the technique that makes a one-room flat feel like it has more than one room, and it costs ₹299. Run a clean scent through the working day — Westin-inspired or Ritz-Carlton-inspired — and switch the tank to something warmer in the evening. The Sukoon makes this trivial: rinse, refill, and the flat is a different place within twenty minutes.
The pairing I would recommend to almost anyone in a studio is Westin-inspired by day, St. Regis-inspired after eight. White tea and cedar keep the room feeling aired and awake while you work; amber, violet and woods make the same 350 sq ft feel like somewhere you would pour a drink. Neither would be right for sixteen hours; together they cover the whole day properly.
Practically: use two of the three 15ml bottles your Sukoon arrives with, work out which one you reach for more often after a month, then buy that one as a 300ml 300ml refill at ₹1,799 and keep the other in 15ml. That is the cheapest possible way to run a studio well — one machine, one big bottle of the everyday scent, one small bottle of the occasion scent.
The SOSA studio edit
What to buy, given that the fragrance — not the machine — is the decision that changes how the flat feels.
| Buy | Which | Why | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sukoon ★ | Any trio — ask for Westin + Ritz-Carlton + St. Regis | Machine plus three 15ml scents; covers 270–320 sq ft | ₹1,899 |
| 300ml refill | Westin-inspired | Your everyday scent, at the lowest cost per ml | ₹1,799 |
| Hotel Collection 15ml | St. Regis-inspired | The evening switch — small bottle is plenty | ₹299 |
| Pack of 7 × 15ml | All seven | If you would rather audition everything than choose | ₹1,799 |
| Boond 300ml | Shangri-La-inspired | The floral that doesn't suit the main room suits a bathroom | ₹899 |
Versailles
When we built the Hotel Collection I was thinking about hotel lobbies, which are large, ventilated and transient. A studio is none of those things — it is small, closed and you are in it all night — so the same seven scents behave completely differently there.
That is why I will not give a single answer to "which is best" without asking about the home first. In a 3BHK the Shangri-La-inspired is one of my favourites. In a 350 sq ft studio with an open kitchen, it is the one I would gently steer you away from. Same bottle, different room, different answer.
Everything is made and supported from Pune, and a part of every order funds girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. You get a home that smells like somewhere you chose; a girl gets a classroom. That equation has always felt right to me.
