A big glazed elevation, a west-facing living room and a cluster of warm statement fittings raise the temperature of the air near them, and every sweet molecule in the fragrance gets louder as that happens. The first thing I ask when someone sends me photographs of a new modern interior is not what mood they want. It is what the room is made of and which way the glass faces.
