White florals - jasmine, mogra, gardenia - are the most intoxicating flowers in perfumery and the easiest ones to overdo. They are built to carry: these are flowers that evolved to be found across a dark garden, which is exactly why a bottle that smells perfect on the shop shelf can feel like too much in a ten-by-twelve bedroom. If you are buying for someone who loves them, you are buying two things at once: the right product, and the instruction that goes with it. Here is the SOSA white-floral map, with honest dosing advice attached to every single item.
Quick answers — read this first
What are white floral fragrances, and which SOSA products are white florals? White florals are the creamy, heady, high-impact flowers - jasmine, mogra, gardenia, and their relatives - as distinct from the softer rose end of the family. In the SOSA range they appear in four places. Mastani attar at Rs 389 is night jasmine with rose, the wearable one. The Jasmine car perfume at Rs 449 is mogra-inspired, the brightest of them. The woodenwick jar candles at Rs 949 include both a Jasmine and a Gardenia, which is the richest and most buttery of the group. And the Garden Bloom reed diffuser at Rs 799 for 50ml or Rs 1,299 for 130ml carries night-blooming jasmine alongside British rose. There is also a Jasmine votive in the mini set of four at Rs 664.
Why do white florals smell stronger than other flowers? Because they are naturally high-impact and they carry: night-blooming jasmine and gardenia are flowers that announce themselves across a garden after dark, and that carrying power does not switch off when you put them indoors. The practical consequence is that the same amount of product produces a much bigger effect in a small room than a citrus or a soft rose would. So the honest rule for gifting white florals is dose down. Three or four reeds in a Garden Bloom bottle at Rs 799 rather than the full set, an hour-long burn of a Rs 949 woodenwick jar rather than an evening, one dab of Mastani at Rs 389 rather than three, and the hanging car format rather than the spray.
What is the best white floral gift for a small flat? The Garden Bloom reed diffuser at Rs 799 for the 50ml, used with three reeds rather than the whole set - it is the only format that gives the recipient a dial they can turn down, and the 50ml is the right size for a compact home while the 130ml at Rs 1,299 belongs in a larger or open-plan room. The mini votive set of four at Rs 664 is the second-best answer, because each votive burns a small amount of wax for a short session, which keeps a strong flower contained; the set includes Jasmine alongside Cinnamon Vanilla, French Lavender and Ivory Sandal. Avoid gifting a 220g candle and a full reed set into the same small flat.
The short answer
Short answer: White florals - jasmine, mogra, gardenia - are the strongest flowers in the garden, so the gift is the product plus the dosing instruction. SOSA's white florals: Mastani attar Rs 389 (night jasmine and rose), Jasmine car perfume Rs 449 (mogra-inspired, hanging for a mild throw), Jasmine and Gardenia woodenwick jars Rs 949, the Jasmine votive in the mini set of four Rs 664, and the Garden Bloom reed Rs 799 for 50ml or Rs 1,299 for 130ml. In a small room use three or four reeds, burn for an hour not an evening, and dab once.
The pick: a SOSA gift matched to the life they live - personal fragrance from ₹379, home fragrance from ₹379, the Safar for their car (₹3,999), the Vaayu for their business (₹11,999).
Shop: the SOSA gifts collection - alcohol-free, beautifully packaged, from ₹299.
The best fragrance gift is matched to the life the person lives: a scent for their skin, their home, their daily drive - or the business they are proudest of. SOSA covers the whole ladder, from a Rs 379 attar to the Rs 11,999 Vaayu, every step alcohol-free and beautifully packaged.
They love white florals - what do you buy, and how much of it should they actually use?
Product first, dose second, and the dose is the part that makes it a good gift. 1. On skin.Mastani (₹389) is night jasmine with rose in an alcohol-free oil - the rose is what keeps the white floral from turning sharp on warm skin. One dab per wrist is the whole application. 2. The richest flower. Gardenia is the creamiest of the white florals and lives in one place here: the Gardenia woodenwick jar (₹949) in the candle collection. Burn it for an hour before people arrive, not all evening. 3. The lightest. The mogra-inspired Jasmine car perfume (₹449) is the fresh-cut version; choose the hanging format for a mild throw over the spray's strong one, especially given how Indian parked-car heat amplifies everything. 4. The room, with a dial. The Garden Bloom reed (₹799 for 50ml, ₹1,299 for 130ml) is the only format where they control the level: three or four reeds in a bedroom, more only if the room asks. No flame, no plug, six to ten weeks. 5. The contained option. The mini votive set of four (₹664) includes a Jasmine and gives short, small burns. White florals read stronger in a small room, so dose down - write it on the card and the gift lands twice. Alcohol-free, made in India; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: white florals carry - so gift Mastani ₹389 with a one-dab rule, the Gardenia woodenwick ₹949 with an hour-long burn, and Garden Bloom ₹799 with three reeds, not eight.
The gifting ladder at a glance: an attar for them (from ₹379), a reed diffuser or candle for their home (from ₹379), the Safar for their car (₹3,999), the Vaayu for their business (₹11,999) - all alcohol-free, all ready to gift.
White florals - the strongest flowers in the garden
What makes a white floral different, where each one lives in the range, and the dosing rules that keep them beautiful.
1
The family
Jasmine, mogra and gardenia are cousins, not twins
They share a creamy, sweet, high-impact character, but they are not interchangeable. Mogra is the brightest and greenest, the garland flower still smelling of the stem - that is the register the mogra-inspired Jasmine car perfume (₹449) is built on. Night-blooming jasmine is deeper and more romantic, the flower that opens after dark, and it is the one in Mastani (₹389) and Garden Bloom (₹799). Gardenia is the richest of the three, almost buttery, and in the SOSA range it exists in exactly one product: the Gardenia woodenwick jar candle (₹949). That is worth knowing before you shop - there is no gardenia attar and no gardenia reed, so if gardenia specifically is her flower, the candle is the answer and the jasmines are the neighbours.
Tip: gardenia lives in one product here - the ₹949 woodenwick jar - and it is honest to say so rather than sell a jasmine as a gardenia.
2
The physics
These flowers were built to carry across a garden
There is a reason night-blooming jasmine and gardenia smell the way they do: they open after dark and need to be found from a distance, so they project. Indoors, that same quality means a modest amount of product does a great deal of work, and a small Indian flat with the windows shut and the air conditioning running is a far more concentrated environment than the shop where the gift was chosen. None of this is an argument against gifting them. It is an argument for gifting them with a note. A Garden Bloom bottle (₹799) with three reeds in a bedroom is elegant; the same bottle with every reed in can feel crowded by the second day, and the reeds cannot be un-soaked once they are in.
3
The instruction
The dosing note is part of the gift
Write four lines on the card and you have upgraded the present. For the reed: start with three or four reeds, wait a day, add one more only if the room asks - and flip them less often than you think. For the candle: burn the Gardenia or Jasmine woodenwick (₹949) for an hour before guests arrive rather than for a whole evening in a closed room; the mini votive set of four (₹664) is naturally self-limiting and a gentler starting point. For the attar: one dab per wrist of Mastani (₹389), not three, because the oil keeps developing for hours. For the car: hanging, not spray. Nobody finds this patronising when it is written warmly, and it is the difference between a white floral they love and one they quietly move to the guest room.
Tip: the dosing note costs nothing and doubles the gift - three reeds, one hour, one dab, hanging not spray.
The SOSA principle
White florals are the loudest flowers in the garden. The gift is not more of them - it is the right amount, and the note that says so.
Mogra bright, night jasmine deep, gardenia richest of all - each with a dose that keeps it on the beautiful side of the line.

The SOSA gifting universe
Match the gift to the life they live - skin, home, car or business
Waterless scent machine (~1000m³, app + timer) - gift a business its signature
₹11,999
Honest gifting notes: fragrance is personal - when you do not know their taste, choose a gift set (the Attar Trio, ₹1,055) or a home fragrance rather than a personal scent, and favour widely-loved families (sandalwood, citrus, soft florals) over polarising ones. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with any hotel brand. Ultrasonic diffusers use the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; the Safar and Vaayu run waterless oil - the formats are not interchangeable. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal
The gifts people remember are rarely the most expensive - they are the most seen. A scent is exactly that: it enters the person's daily life - on their skin, in their living room, in the car they drive to work, in the shop they built from nothing - and every time they meet it, they think of you.
That is why I built the SOSA range as a ladder rather than a shelf: an attar for the person, a candle or diffuser for their home, the Safar for their car, the Vaayu for their business. Match the gift to the life they live and it stops being a thing and becomes a habit - the daily moment where your gift keeps arriving. Everything is alcohol-free, long-lasting and handmade in small batches in India.
One honest note: fragrance is personal. If you do not know their taste, pick a gift set so they can choose, or scent their space instead of their skin - a home or car fragrance flatters almost everyone. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Does SOSA make a gardenia attar or a gardenia reed diffuser?
No, and it is better to say that plainly than to sell you a substitute. Gardenia exists in exactly one SOSA product: the Gardenia woodenwick jar candle at Rs 949. There is no gardenia roll-on oil, no gardenia reed diffuser and no gardenia car perfume in the range. If gardenia specifically is the flower your recipient loves, the candle is the honest answer and it is a genuinely good one - the wooden wick makes it a ritual object as much as a fragrance. If you want a gardenia lover to have something wearable as well, the nearest neighbours in the range are the jasmines, since they sit in the same white-floral family: Mastani at Rs 389 for skin, and Garden Bloom at Rs 799 for the room. Neighbours, not the same flower.
How many reeds should go in a Garden Bloom bottle in a small bedroom?
Three to start, four at most, and give it a full day before you decide. The reeds are the dosing dial - each one you add increases the amount of oil being drawn up and evaporated - and with a white floral in a small closed room, the difference between three and seven is very noticeable by the second evening. Start low because you can always add another reed, but you cannot un-soak the ones already in the bottle. Place the bottle away from the bed and away from a fan or an air conditioner vent, since moving air pushes the scent around much faster. In a larger living room, five or six reeds is a reasonable starting point, and the 130ml bottle at Rs 1,299 is the size built for that space.
Are white florals a risky gift for someone sensitive to strong scents?
They are the highest-impact end of the floral family, so if your recipient has told you that perfumes generally feel too strong, this is not the family to lead with, and there is no point pretending otherwise. If you still want to give them a white floral because it is genuinely what they love, choose the formats with the smallest footprint: the mini votive set of four at Rs 664, where each votive burns a small amount of wax for a short session, or the hanging Jasmine car perfume at Rs 449, which has a deliberately mild throw. On skin, one dab of Mastani at Rs 389 sits close and does not project the way an alcohol spray does. And avoid the combination of a large candle and a fully loaded reed bottle in the same room.
Is a candle or a reed diffuser the better white-floral gift?
For a strong flower, the reed usually wins, because it is the only format where the recipient controls the level after you have given it: they choose how many reeds go in and can change their mind. It also has no flame and no plug, which matters in a home with a toddler, a cat or a landlord with opinions, and a Garden Bloom bottle at Rs 799 runs about six to ten weeks with no attention at all. A candle wins on ritual and on control of timing - it is on when they light it and off when they blow it out, which suits someone who wants scent for an hour on a Sunday rather than continuously. If they are a candle person already, the Rs 949 woodenwick is a lovely gift; if you do not know, the reed is safer.
Can I build a complete white-floral gift without it being overwhelming?
Yes, if you spread it across surfaces rather than stacking it into one room. A good build is Mastani at Rs 389 for her skin plus the Jasmine car perfume at Rs 449 for her drive, which comes to Rs 838 and puts the flower in two places that never compete with each other. A larger build is Mastani at Rs 389 plus the Garden Bloom reed at Rs 799, at Rs 1,188, covering her wrist and her living room. What I would avoid is gifting the 130ml reed at Rs 1,299 and a 220g candle into the same small flat, because both are room products and they will fight. One product per surface is the rule that keeps a strong floral elegant.
