An attar gift for a brother is not improved by a rule about what brothers are supposed to wear. There is no such rule at SOSA, because no attar is marketed by gender. What matters is whether the scent matches what he already wears.
Quick answers — read this first
What attar should you get your brother? Whatever is adjacent to what he already wears. If he wears florals, Mastani from ₹389. If he wears something deep, Nawaab from ₹399.

Is Mastani a "women's" attar? No. No SOSA attar is marketed by gender. Mastani suits anyone whose taste already sits in florals, regardless of who they are.

What if you do not know his taste well? The pack of three from ₹1,055 is the more honest buy than guessing at a single bottle.
The short answer
Short answer: match the attar to what your brother already wears. No SOSA attar is gendered, so floral or resinous is a matter of taste, not sex.
If he wears florals: Mastani from ₹389. If deep and resinous, Nawaab from ₹399.
If you are not sure: the pack of three from ₹1,055.
Straight answer
How should you actually pick an attar gift for a brother?
1. There is no gendered shortcut. No SOSA attar is built for men or women. Florals, oud, rose and sandalwood all sit in the same unisex range.

2. Read what he already wears. If he leans floral, Mastani is adjacent. If he leans deep and resinous, Nawaab is.

3. One bottle commits to a scent. A single attar says you noticed something specific about him. That only works when the observation is right, not when it follows a stereotype.

4. The trio is the safer move when unsure. The pack of three, from ₹1,055, costs close to a single 12ML bottle and does not require certainty.

5. There is no packaging to fall back on. SOSA has no gift box, wrap or note. The scent choice carries the whole gift.

And a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
TL;DR: match his taste, not a gendered assumption. Mastani from ₹389 for a floral wearer, or the pack of three from ₹1,055 if you are not sure.
Mastani Attar
If he already wears florals
Mastani Attar from ₹389
Night-blooming jasmine and damask rose. Alcohol-free roll-on oil in 3ML, 6ML and 12ML, unisex like every attar SOSA makes. Right for a brother whose existing taste already sits in florals, not a gendered default.

Why there is no "brother" rule to follow

It is tempting to reach for a rule like "something woody for a brother" and stop thinking. That rule does not exist at SOSA. No attar in the range is formulated or marketed by gender, so the only useful question is what he personally already wears.

1
Evidence
What he already wears, not what a brother "should" wear
A scent he keeps reaching for tells you more than any assumption about gendered taste. Start there rather than at a stereotype.
The honest question: can you name the last attar or fragrance he actually wore, or are you about to guess based on a category?
2
Adjacent, not gendered
Move one step from his taste, whatever family it sits in
If he already wears florals, Mastani sits next to that. If he wears something deep, Nawaab does. Neither choice depends on his gender.

Buy adjacent to what he already wears

The method does not change because the recipient is family, and it does not change based on gender either. Identify his existing scent family, then move one step within it.

The SOSA principle
No attar here is for him or for her. Every one of them is just a scent, waiting to match someone's actual taste.
Which means gender never belongs in the decision, only observation does.

The honest answer if you are not sure

If you cannot say with confidence what he wears, the pack of three at ₹1,055 costs close to a single 12ML bottle and does not ask you to guess correctly on the first try.

A gift for a brother needs no gendered rule. It only needs you to have paid attention.

The SOSA attar edit
Match the bottle to what he already wears
Option Best when Why From
Mastani He already wears florals Night-blooming jasmine and damask rose, adjacent to that taste ₹389
Nawaab He already wears something deep or resinous White oud and saffron, adjacent to that taste ₹399
Pack of three You are not confident you know his taste Almost the same money as one 12ML bottle, without the guess ₹1,055
Honest notes: no SOSA attar is marketed by gender. The pack of three contains Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, and does not contain Adaa. SOSA has no gift wrap, box, note or pouch. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal

I am often asked whether Mastani is "too feminine" for a brother. It is not feminine at all. It is jasmine and rose in an unmarked bottle, worn across the board by whoever likes it.

So my answer for a brother gift is the same as for anyone else: look at what he already wears and move one step from it. Nawaab suits a brother whose taste already leans deep, not brothers in general.

If you cannot say with confidence what he wears, buy the pack of three and let him tell you by which one he reaches for. A girl gets a classroom through Nanhi Kali either way.

Frequently asked questions

What attar should you buy for a brother?
Whatever is adjacent to what he already wears. Someone who wears florals is a match for Mastani from ₹389. Someone who wears something deep and resinous is a match for Nawaab from ₹399.
Is Mastani too feminine to give a brother?
No. No SOSA attar is marketed by gender. Mastani is night jasmine and damask rose, and it suits anyone whose taste already sits in florals, regardless of who they are.
How do I choose without asking him directly?
Note what he already wears or reapplies, then buy one degree away from that. There is no gendered default to fall back on.
What if I genuinely do not know his taste?
Buy the pack of three, Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, from ₹1,055 instead of guessing at a single 12ML bottle. It costs close to the same and lets him choose.
Does the attar come with any gift packaging?
No. SOSA does not supply a gift box, wrap, card or pouch with any attar. The considered part of the gift is the scent you chose.
