Reed diffuser refills in India: which scent, what size

Ranked by refill units actually sold in the last thirty days, not by margin and not by what we would like to move. Figures are taken from our own order data on 18 October 2026 and cover 18 September to 18 October 2026.

How this ranking works. One measure only: reed refill units sold between 18 September and 18 October 2026, from our Shopify order data. Refills can be bought on the Reed Diffuser Refills page or as a refill size on each diffuser's own page, so we have added both together for each scent. No sponsored placements, no weighting, no adjustment for what is profitable. Refill numbers are small by nature, because nobody buys a refill until the first bottle runs down, and one scent sold no refills at all this month. We list it anyway. We refresh these figures monthly and the date above changes when we do.

The ranking

Every refill is the same oil as the original diffuser, poured into the glass vessel you already own. The price is the same for every scent: ₹2,399 for 300ml and ₹3,499 for 500ml.

300ml or 500ml?

Decide by the bottle you own, not by the scent. Here is how far each refill goes.

If you own the 50ml

A 300ml refill fills your bottle about six times, and a 500ml about ten times. Six new 50ml bottles would cost roughly ₹4,500 to ₹5,100. The 300ml refill is ₹2,399.

The 300ml is the sensible first refill. The 500ml only makes sense once you are certain you want the same scent for a long stretch.

If you own the 130ml

A 300ml refill fills your bottle twice, with some left over, and a 500ml nearly four times.

A new 130ml costs roughly ₹10 per ml. The 300ml refill is about ₹8 per ml and the 500ml about ₹7. The saving is real but smaller than it is for 50ml owners, so the 500ml is where it starts to matter.

When a refill is not the fix

The most common reason a reed diffuser goes quiet is the reeds, not the oil.

The bottle still has oil

If the scent has faded but there is oil left, flip the reeds so the dry ends sit in the oil. That usually brings the throw back for a while.

If flipping does nothing, the reeds may be saturated or dusty. Adding more oil will not help, and we would rather tell you that here than sell you a refill you do not need. Message us and we will help you work out what is going on.

Changing to a different scent

Reeds hold on to the scent they have been drinking, so switching scents with the old reeds gives you a muddle of both.

Empty the vessel, wash it with warm soapy water, dry it completely and use fresh reeds before pouring in the new scent. If you are not sure you will like the new scent, a 50ml diffuser is a cheaper way to find out than a 300ml refill.

Refilling and use. Refill on a protected surface and wipe up spills straight away, since reed diffuser oil can mark polished wood, paint, marble and plastic. Do not overfill the vessel, keep it on a stable surface out of the reach of children and pets, and keep it away from flames, heat sources and direct sunlight. Keep the refill bottle sealed, upright and out of the sun between uses. Reed refills are for SOSA reed diffuser vessels only, not for ultrasonic diffusers, waterless machines or car fresheners. SOSA makes no therapeutic, medical or psychological claim for any fragrance - nothing here suggests a scent improves sleep, mood, focus, breathing or health in any way. Fragrance is an ambience decision only, never a substitute for ventilation, cleaning or dealing with the source of a smell. How long a fill lasts varies with room size, airflow, AC, heat and how many reeds you use, so no duration stated anywhere is a guarantee. Prices, stock and pack sizes change, and the product page governs at the moment you buy.
