Everything your skin does either speeds up or slows down that evaporation, and changes which molecules are dominant at any moment. That is the whole mechanism. Let me take the factors one at a time, plainly.

Skin oil and sebum — the natural fixative

Your skin's natural oil, sebum, is the single biggest reason a perfume lasts on one person and disappears on another. Why Indian heat amplifies all of it

This is the section imported guides leave out, and it is the most important one for us. Every factor above exists everywhere in the world — but India's climate turns the volume up on all of them. India is not a single climate, yet most of it is hot, and much of it is humid for months at a time.
