We make more than one thing, so it is fair to ask which of them belongs in a home like yours. The answer is shorter than the catalogue suggests, and the useful part is the reasoning: what the machine is for, what it takes, what it is not, and where a much cheaper product is still the right call.
Quick answers — read this first
Which SOSA fragrance system is best for a luxury home? The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), one per floor of air. It is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, running pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml refillable tank, with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB and 5W. Reed diffusers remain the right answer for a small room or a corner with no plug point, but they are not a whole-home system.
What fragrance goes into a SOSA Vaayu? Pure fragrance oil, in the machine's own 400ml refillable tank. It is not a water-based system, so nothing is diluted and no water is added - which is why there is no dampness, no residue and nothing to descale. A tank lasts up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours, roughly five fills a year.
Do I need more than one machine for a villa? Usually one per floor. A SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, and two storeys are two bodies of air even with an open staircase, because the levels do not exchange air evenly. Run both machines on the same fragrance and the same schedule so the house reads as one home rather than two.
The short answer
Short answer: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) per floor of air, running pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml tank. Waterless, rated to 1000m³ or about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, 5W. Reeds stay for a small room or a corner with no plug point, and they are not a whole-home system.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), one per floor, all on the same fragrance and the same schedule.
Next step: tell us the floor area, the ceiling height and how many levels the house has, and we will say how many machines it honestly needs - ask us what fits your home.
The range looks bigger than the decision. For a luxury home it comes down to one machine for the floor, plus reeds in the places a machine cannot reach, all running one fragrance.
Which product in the SOSA range should a luxury home actually buy?
One machine: the SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, one per floor of air. Here is the reasoning rather than the assertion. It is a waterless cold-air nebuliser, which means it disperses pure fragrance oil dry, with no water and no heat, so nothing damp or residual reaches veneer, framed work, books or upholstery, and there is nothing to descale. It is rated to 1000m³, described on the product page as about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, so it is a whole-floor machine rather than a device for one room - a typical apartment needs one, a two-storey villa one per floor, both on the same oil and the same schedule. It takes 1h, 4h, 8h and 24h timers with adjustable intensity from a Bluetooth app or the buttons on the machine. It runs under 38dB and at 5W, roughly 1.5 units of electricity a month on a ten hour daily schedule, and it has auto-stop and a key-lock. Now what it is not, because this confusion is common. The Vaayu takes pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml tank; it is not an ultrasonic diffuser and water-based fragrance is a different system entirely, not something to pour into this machine. And our reed diffusers stay exactly where they have always belonged: a small room, a guest bathroom, a landing, any corner with no plug point. They are silent, unpowered and undemanding, and they are not a coverage tool for 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. A 400ml fill lasts up to about 75 days depending on intensity and hours, roughly five fills a year. And the honest part. Three people should not buy this machine, and I would rather say so here than take the order. If you want one room lightly scented now and then, something small and cheap will serve you better. If the real problem is damp, a bin, a drain, a wardrobe or last night's cooking, fix the source - a machine will only give you both smells at once. And if you enjoy changing fragrance every fortnight, you will never get the thing a signature scent is actually for. SOSA's hotel-inspired fragrances are our own original interpretations of a style of scenting, composed in our own studio. SOSA is an independent Indian brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel or hotel group. Ask us what fits your home; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One Vaayu per floor of air, running pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml tank. Reeds for corners with no plug. That is the whole home system.
The home machine: one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, waterless, rated to 1000m³ (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), taking pure fragrance oil in a 400ml refillable tank that lasts up to about 75 days, at under 38dB and 5W, with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers.
One machine is the whole recommendation, so here it is properly, in three views, each linking to the live product page where the specification and the price are stated.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser at ₹11,999, rated to 1000m³ - about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. One per floor of air, all running the same fragrance on the same schedule.
Pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml refillable tank, lasting up to about 75 days depending on intensity and hours. No water, no dilution, nothing to descale - this is not an ultrasonic system.
Under 38dB, 5W, 0.9kg, freestanding, wall mounted or HVAC mounted, with auto-stop and a key-lock so the settings stay where you put them. CE, RoHS and SGS certified, made in India.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers with adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India.
Three questions decide which product in any range belongs in a home, and they are worth asking us as much as anybody else.
1
Is it a coverage tool or a corner tool?
Cubic metres separate the two, and nothing else does
Everything we make falls into one of two categories. Coverage tools are rated in cubic metres and are designed to hold a level across a volume of air: the Vaayu is rated to 1000m³, about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft. Corner tools scent the air near themselves and ask nothing of you - reeds are the obvious example, and they are genuinely the right answer for a guest bathroom or a landing with no plug point. Trouble only starts when a corner tool is asked to do a coverage job, which is how homes end up with five bottles and no consistency.
Tip: count your bottles. If a floor has more than one fragrance on it, it has none.
The Vaayu is the coverage tool: 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, from one point.
This trips people up, so it is worth being blunt. The Vaayu is a nebuliser and takes pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml refillable tank. It does not take water, and water-based fragrance made for ultrasonic diffusers is a different system that does not belong in this machine. That distinction is also the reason the Vaayu behaves the way it does in a home: nothing damp goes into the room, nothing settles on surfaces, and there is no tank to descale. One fill lasts up to about 75 days depending on intensity and hours, which is roughly five fills a year.
400ml of pure fragrance oil per fill, up to about 75 days, roughly five fills a year.
Quiet, locked, low powered and dull in the best sense
A commercial machine can be loud, ugly and demanding because it lives in a plant room. A home machine cannot. This is the reason the Vaayu is the one we point homeowners at: under 38dB so it can sit in a passage outside a bedroom, 0.9kg and 165 x 80.5 x 215mm so it fits on a console or a wall bracket, 5W so nobody thinks about the bill, auto-stop and key-lock for households with children or staff, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. Made in India, so service is not a transcontinental exercise.
Tip: put it where the air moves, then lock the settings and forget it.
Under 38dB, 5W, auto-stop, key-lock, CE, RoHS and SGS, made in India.
Our range is wider than this answer. For a whole luxury home the answer is still one machine per floor, and I would rather say that than sell you three things.
Reeds are not a smaller machine. They are a different tool for a corner, and they are excellent at it.
The home machine: SOSA Vaayu, waterless, rated to 1000m³ - about 2,000-3,000 sq ft - one per floor of air. ₹11,999.
One machine per floor of air, running pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml tank. Waterless, quiet, lockable and certified, made in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Two clarifications worth having in writing. The Vaayu takes pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml tank and is not a water-based or ultrasonic system, so water-based fragrance does not belong in it. And reeds are not a smaller version of the machine; they are the right tool for a corner with no plug and nothing more. Beyond that, the usual honesty: fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never instead of them, it cannot cover damp, a bin, a drain, a wardrobe or cooking, and it is not an air purifier. A note from Sonal
It would be easy to answer this question with a list, because we make several things and every one of them has a place. But a list is not advice, and a house does not need four products. So here is the version I give people who write to me directly.
For a luxury home, buy one Vaayu per floor of air and nothing else. It is rated to 1000m³, about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, it is waterless so nothing damp or residual goes near your wood, books and framed work, it runs under 38dB at 5W, and it takes pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml tank, up to about 75 days a fill. Keep reeds for the bathroom corner with no plug. That is the entire recommendation, and it costs less than the three-product version somebody else will suggest.
Whatever you buy from us, a home smells good because it is aired and clean first, then scented - fragrance is a finish, not a fix, and not an air purifier. Frequently asked questions
Which SOSA home fragrance system is best for a luxury home?
The SOSA Vaayu, at Rs 11,999, one machine per floor of air. It is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000 cubic metres or about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, running pure fragrance oil in its own 400ml refillable tank, with 1, 4, 8 and 24 hour timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB and 5W. Reed diffusers remain right for a small room or a corner with no plug point, but they are not a whole-home system.
What fragrance goes into the SOSA Vaayu?
Pure fragrance oil, in the machine's own 400ml refillable tank. The Vaayu is not an ultrasonic or water-based diffuser, so no water is added and nothing is diluted. That is why there is no dampness in the room, no residue on nearby surfaces and nothing to descale. One tank lasts up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours.
How many machines does a two-storey villa need?
Normally one per floor. Each SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999) is rated to 1000 cubic metres, about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, and two storeys are two separate bodies of air even with an open staircase, because the levels do not exchange air evenly. Run both on the same fragrance and the same schedule so the house reads as one home.
Should I use reed diffusers as well?
Only where a machine cannot go. A reed diffuser is silent, needs no power and is genuinely the right answer for a guest bathroom, a landing or a corner with no plug point. It is not a coverage tool for 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, and using several around a floor is how a house ends up smelling of three different things at once.
Are SOSA hotel-inspired fragrances connected to any hotel?
SOSA's hotel-inspired fragrances are our own original interpretations of a style of scenting. SOSA is an independent Indian brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel or hotel group.
One fragrance, every machine: Run the same oil on every Vaayu in the house, on the same schedule, so the home reads as one place. ₹11,999.
One machine per floor. That is the whole recommendation.
