A 1,200 sq ft flat at a ten foot ceiling holds roughly 340 cubic metres of air; a 2,000 sq ft villa floor is around 570. So one machine, correctly placed on the air path, is the normal answer for a whole floor. The honest boundary is connected air: a floor closed off by a staircase door, or a wing on separate air conditioning, behaves as a separate volume. Genuinely double-height or multi-floor houses need more than one machine or a larger HVAC-connected unit, and we will say so rather than sell you one that is undersized.

The limits, stated before you buy rather than after
One: it is not an air purifier and we make no health claim for it. Olfactory signals reach the brain by a short pathway that sits close to the regions handling memory and emotion, which is why a smell can return a place to you years later, faster than a photograph of it can. That is a description of how recognition works, not a promise about mood or health: fragrance is a finish, it is not an air purifier, and we make no health claim for it. Two: it will not cover a smell that has a source. Damp, a musty wardrobe, pet odour, cooking soaked into upholstery and a new interior still off-gassing all need ventilation, cleaning or time, and fragrance on top of any of them gives you both smells at once, which is the single most common way home scenting disappoints people. Three: it addresses one channel of five. It will do nothing about a 4000K bulb, a room that rings, or a switch plate that feels like plastic. If somebody in the household is sensitive to fragrance, run it lower, ventilate well and be willing to decide it is not right for that home.
