✓ One machine per genuinely separate body of air, never a second unit in the same room✓ Waterless, so the machine adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces✓ Made in India · independent, not affiliated with any hotel · a portion funds girl-child education

This is the question the whole size-and-layout family has been walking towards, and it deserves a procedure rather than an opinion. Run the test on your own building and the answer stops being a matter of taste, which is the point of writing it down.
Quick answers — read this first
When does a boutique genuinely need more than one machine? When it genuinely contains more than one volume of air, and the test has two halves that must both be true. First, a door that can be closed and actually is closed during ordinary trading. Second, a separate air path - its own air-conditioning circuit, a separate floor, or a room the main supply does not reach. Both, not either. Fail one and the space is a single zone however large it looks on a drawing, and a second machine there only makes part of one room louder than the rest of it.
What goes wrong if I add a machine anyway? You buy a seam. Two sources in one connected volume do not add together; each produces its own gradient and the two meet at different intensities, usually in an aisle a customer walks along. That step change reads as an inconsistency rather than as more fragrance, and it is awkward to undo, because turning either unit down thins exactly the area it was bought to serve. It also doubles the number of dials on a shop floor, which is the opposite of what a floor with many hands needs.
What do the honest configurations cost? Three architectures cover almost everything. One connected floor inside 1000m³: one SOSA Vaayu, total ₹11,999. Two genuinely separate volumes: two Vaayus, total ₹23,998. A flagship floor plate on air handling plus one genuinely closed client suite: a SOSA Aangan at ₹25,999 plus one Vaayu, total ₹37,998. Same profile in every zone; only the machine count follows the air.
The short answer
Short answer: when the building genuinely holds a second volume of air, which needs two things true at once - a door that is actually shut during trading, and a separate air path such as its own AC circuit or a separate floor. Fail either and it is one zone. One connected floor is ₹11,999; two genuine volumes are ₹23,998; a flagship plus a closed suite is ₹37,998.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) per genuinely separate volume of air, mounted on each volume's own supply path, with a SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) into the air handling where a single floor plate exceeds one machine's volume.
Next step: send the floor plan with every door that is genuinely shut during trading marked, the AC zones noted and the ceiling height written on it, and we will count your volumes and price each architecture - Ask for a retail scenting plan.
Run this on your own plan rather than taking anyone's word for it, mine included. Marking the doors that genuinely close is a ten-minute job and it settles a decision worth ₹11,999 either way.
One machine per volume of air - tap for the specification
When does a large watch boutique genuinely need multiple scenting zones?
When it genuinely holds more than one volume of air - and because that phrase is easy to stretch, here is the test as a procedure rather than a principle. Two things must both be true of a space before it counts as a second zone. First, a door that can be closed and is actually closed during ordinary trading. Second, a separate air path: its own air-conditioning circuit, a separate floor, or a room the main supply genuinely does not reach. Both halves, not either. A mezzanine reached by an open stair fails the first and is one zone. A private lounge with a permanently open doorway fails the first and is one zone. A room with a door that is only ever shut for cleaning fails it too. And a room with a door that closes but sits on the same AC circuit as the showroom, fed by the same supply, fails the second: the air is already shared, so a second machine there would be adding a source to a volume that is already being served. Run the test honestly and most boutiques - including some very large ones - come out as a single zone, which is the answer people least expect and most often need. Why the discipline matters: two sources inside one connected volume do not add together, they meet. Each produces its own gradient, and the gradients meet somewhere - usually an aisle a customer walks along - at two different intensities. What that produces is a step change, and a step change reads as an inconsistency rather than as more fragrance. It is also awkward to unpick afterwards, because turning either machine down thins exactly the area it was installed to serve. So before adding hardware, exhaust placement. Mount the existing machine high, on an air-conditioning supply path so the building distributes for you, well away from any return grille that would draw the output out before it travels, and well inside the entrance - a door onto a street or a corridor exchanges the threshold air many times an hour and the threshold is not where a store's scent lives. One placement change ends this question more often than a second machine does. When the test genuinely passes, the rule is one machine per volume and the same profile at each: sameness is what a customer perceives as they walk between spaces, not what two dials read. Three architectures cover nearly every real building. One connected floor inside 1000m³ - one SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, total ₹11,999. A ground floor plus an upper floor on its own circuit with a door at the stair - two Vaayus, total ₹23,998. A flagship floor plate served by air handling plus one genuinely closed client suite - a SOSA Aangan at ₹25,999 into the plant plus one Vaayu for the suite, total ₹37,998. Anything inside the ductwork or air-handling equipment is your HVAC contractor's decision rather than mine. Two disclosures before you commit to a multi-machine plan. SOSA does not currently sell a cold-air refill oil separately: the 4 × 100ml supplied in the box is the whole supply, the 400ml tank runs 90+ days a fill, and continuity of supply should be confirmed with SOSA before you standardise a building on several machines. And warranty, installation, bulk pricing and invoicing terms are not published - confirm them rather than assume them. Each machine is waterless, so it adds no moisture to the room and leaves no residue on surfaces; that is a fact about the machine, and what room conditions mean for any given piece is a question for the brands you carry and their watchmakers. Set every zone's level for the advisor who stands in it nine hours a day, key-lock on. This is a presentation decision like lighting or case layout; it is never a way to cover another smell. And plainly: no one can promise you that ambient scent moves footfall, dwell, conversion or spend, and any supplier quoting you a figure is selling. Ask for a retail scenting plan and send the plan with the shut doors marked.
A second machine needs a second volume of air: a door that actually shuts and a separate air path, both true. Otherwise it is one zone and a second unit only makes part of the room louder. ₹11,999, ₹23,998 or ₹37,998, depending on the architecture.
One SOSA Vaayu per genuinely separate volume - 1000m³, waterless, wall or HVAC mountable, app timers, adjustable intensity, key-lock, under 38dB, 400ml running 90+ days a fill. ₹11,999 each. Cold-air refill oil is not sold separately today, so confirm continuity with SOSA before standardising a building on several machines.
The rule is one machine per genuinely separate body of air, and which machine depends on whether a volume is a room or a floor plate. The images link to the product pages so you can check the specifications before ordering.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³ - roughly 3,530 sq ft at a 10 ft ceiling. 400ml running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, auto-stop and key-lock, freestanding or wall and HVAC mountable. ₹11,999 per zone, each mounted on that zone's own supply path.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to approximately 8,000-10,000 sq ft, installed into the air handling so the building's own distribution carries one profile across a floor plate no free-standing unit could serve. ₹25,999. Fitting into your particular plant is a conversation for your HVAC contractor.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml and further supply must be confirmed with SOSA before a multi-machine building is standardised on it.
Take the halves in order, then take the third card seriously, because it is where most second machines are actually avoided.

Half one - find a door that is genuinely shut
Shut during trading, not shut in principle
Walk the building on an ordinary trading day and note which doors are actually closed while customers are in the store. Not doors that could be closed, not doors closed after hours, not a doorway with a curtain. A door that is open during trading is not a boundary and the space behind it is part of the showroom's air. This is where most zoning plans fail, and they fail in the most expensive direction: a lounge with a permanently open doorway looks like a separate room on a drawing and behaves like an alcove in practice. If your private space is only closed for a fitting or a valuation, treat the building as one zone and place the single machine so that space sits on the air path.
Tip: Do the walk on a Saturday, not on a quiet Tuesday morning with the team expecting you.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
A closed door on the same AC circuit is still shared air
The second half is about the services rather than the architecture. A room with a real door, fed by the same supply grilles and returned through the same circuit as the showroom, is already receiving the showroom's air whenever the system runs - so a second source inside it is adding to a volume that is being served rather than serving one that is not. A genuine second volume has its own air path: its own AC zone, its own floor, or a room the main supply does not reach. Ask your HVAC contractor for the zoning drawing rather than guessing; duct layout, filtration and plant are their domain and they will answer this in a minute.
Tip: The zoning drawing usually exists. It is worth one phone call to your contractor to get a copy.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Most second machines are bought to fix a placement problem the first machine still has
If part of the store reads thin, look at where the source is before you consider what to add. On an air-conditioning supply path the building distributes for you; within reach of a return the output is drawn out before it travels; standing behind a display case in a still corner, the machine is working alone. Mount it high, well inside the entrance, on a supply path - then live with it for a fortnight. A single placement change resolves this question more often than a second machine does, and it costs nothing. Accept too that the first few metres inside a constantly opening door are a transition zone that no setting and no second unit will win.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
A second zone exists only where a door is genuinely shut during trading and the air arrives by a different path - both true at once, or the building is one volume and a second machine simply makes part of one room louder than the rest.
Run it as a test rather than a judgement, and most boutiques, including large ones, come out as a single zone.
One machine per volume, same profile: SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 each, mounted on each zone's own supply path, key-lock on.
Almost every real building lands on one of these three, and the totals are named so you can decide before anyone quotes you.
The SOSA plan
Three honest zoning architectures, with totals
The architecture
What to do
One connected floor, inside 1000m³
Entrance, showroom, seating and till all sharing one body of air with no door shut. One Vaayu, mounted on the supply path. Total ₹11,999.
Two genuinely separate volumes
A ground floor plus an upper floor on its own AC circuit with a door at the stair, or a client suite that is genuinely closed and separately fed. One machine each, same profile, levels set separately. Total ₹23,998.
A flagship floor plate plus a closed suite
One Aangan into the air handling for the main floor plus one Vaayu for the suite. Same profile in both. Total ₹37,998.
The architecture that is not on the list
Two machines in one connected showroom. They meet in an aisle at two intensities and the meeting point is the only thing anyone notices.
What is the same in all three
One profile, levels set per zone by the people standing in them, key-lock on, and a quarterly walk-in from the street to check for drift.
What to confirm before committing
Cold-air refill continuity, plus warranty, installation and invoicing terms, none of which are published today.
One machine per genuinely separate volume, and which machine depends on whether the volume is a room or a whole floor plate. Cold-air refill oil is not currently sold separately, so the 400ml runs 90+ days a fill and continuity must be confirmed with SOSA before a multi-machine building is standardised; warranty, installation and invoicing terms are not published either and should be confirmed rather than assumed. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA watch-boutique specification
The machine follows the air, and the profile never changes
Run the two-part test before you buy anything, exhaust placement before you add hardware, and keep one profile across every zone. Ambient scent here is a presentation decision like lighting or case layout; it is never a way to cover another smell, and a building with a corridor, carpet or fit-out problem should have that fixed first. And to be plain: no one can promise you that ambient scent moves footfall, dwell, conversion or spend, and any supplier quoting you a figure is selling. Ask for a retail scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal
Zoning is the part of this subject where the most money is spent for the least reason, so I have turned it into a test that anybody can run without me. Two halves, both required. Is there a door that is genuinely closed while customers are in the building? And does the air behind that door arrive by a different path - its own circuit, its own floor, somewhere the main supply does not reach? If either answer is no, you have one volume of air and one machine's worth of work to do, however grand the floor plan looks.
What people find hardest to accept is that a beautiful private lounge with an open doorway is, for this purpose, an alcove. I understand why that is unwelcome. But adding a machine to it gives you two gradients meeting in the opening, and the customer walking through that opening is exactly the customer you were trying to impress. The better move is almost always to place the single machine so that the lounge sits downstream of it on the air path, and let the room inherit the showroom quietly. Inheriting is not a compromise; it is what connection feels like.
The three honest architectures are these. One connected floor: one Vaayu, ₹11,999. Two genuine volumes: two Vaayus, ₹23,998. A flagship floor plate plus a genuinely closed suite: an Aangan at ₹25,999 plus one Vaayu, ₹37,998. Same profile in every zone. Before you commit a building to several machines, confirm cold-air refill continuity with us, because it is not a published line item today and I would rather flag it than have you find it. Stay dry rather than sweet, set each level for the advisor rather than yourself, and remember that fragrance is never a substitute for ventilation or cleaning and that nobody can honestly promise you it moves a business number. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
When does a large watch boutique need multiple scenting zones?
When it genuinely contains more than one volume of air, and the test has two halves that must both be true. First, a door that can be closed and actually is closed during ordinary trading. Second, a separate air path, such as its own air-conditioning circuit, a separate floor, or a room the main supply does not reach. Fail either half and the building is one zone, and a second machine there only makes part of one room louder than the rest of it.
What happens if I put two machines in one connected showroom?
You get a seam rather than more fragrance. Each source produces its own gradient and the two meet at different intensities, usually in an aisle a customer walks along, which reads as an inconsistency. It is also awkward to correct, because turning either machine down thins exactly the area it was bought to serve. Before adding hardware, move the machine you have onto an air-conditioning supply path, well inside the entrance and away from any return grille.
What do multiple zones actually cost?
Three architectures cover nearly every building. One connected floor inside 1000 cubic metres takes one SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999. Two genuinely separate volumes take one machine each, a total of Rs 23,998. A flagship floor plate served by air handling plus one genuinely closed client suite takes a SOSA Aangan at Rs 25,999 plus one Vaayu, a total of Rs 37,998. The profile stays the same in every zone; only the machine count follows the air.
Should each zone have a different fragrance or a different level?
The same profile everywhere, and levels set per zone by the people who stand in them. Sameness is what a customer perceives walking between spaces, not what two dials read, so a smaller or quieter room often needs a lower number to feel identical. Write each zone's setting down, put the key-lock on, and have someone walk in from the street once a quarter to check for drift, because levels only ever move upward.
What should I confirm before committing a building to several machines?
Two things. SOSA does not currently sell a cold-air refill oil separately, so the 4 by 100ml supplied in the box is the whole supply and the 400ml tank runs 90 plus days a fill; continuity should be confirmed with SOSA before a multi-machine building is standardised on it. And warranty, installation, bulk pricing and invoicing terms are not published, so confirm them rather than assume them. I would rather flag both than have you discover them later.
Before you standardise on several: Cold-air refill oil is not sold separately today - confirm continuity of supply with SOSA first.

Same profile everywhere. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Send the plan with the shut doors marked and we will count your volumes.
About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the planning advice applies to any brand.
Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
