A car is the smallest space any of us scents, and the one we sit closest to. Two or three cubic metres of air, a metre from your face, with the windows up and the heater on for four months of the year. I say this to customers constantly and it still surprises people: almost every car fragrance problem I am sent is a dose problem, not a scent problem. The bottle is not weak and the oil is not wrong. The cabin simply gives fragrance nowhere to go, and winter takes away the little ventilation that was rescuing you in October.
That is why we sell the hanging bottle and the spray at the same price. They are the same oil. One gives you a mild level that is always there and asks nothing of you; the other gives you a strong level the moment you decide you want one. Neither is the better product, and pricing them differently would only push people toward whichever we wanted to sell. Choose by how you drive: a long daily commute is a hanging car, a car that matters most when somebody else gets into it is a spray car, and plenty of people quite sensibly run both.

Frequently asked questions
Should I just ask my driver what level they want?
Yes, and it is the single most useful thing on this page. The person sitting in the cabin all day is the only accurate instrument you have, and they are also the least likely to volunteer an opinion unless they are asked directly and told plainly that reducing it is a normal answer. Ask in the first week after a new bottle goes in, and ask again about a month later when the winter heater has been running for a while, because the same bottle reads differently in a closed heated cabin than it did in October. Make it easy to act on: the hanging bottle has an adjustable stopper, so tightening it takes five seconds and requires nobody's permission. If the answer is that it is too much, reduce it, air the car or change the scent. That is a recalibration, not a complaint, and no scent is worth anyone spending a working day in air they dislike.
Is a hanging bottle or a spray better for a chauffeur-driven car?
Most cars like this end up wanting both, and since they cost the same it is not really a trade-off. The hanging bottle gives a mild continuous baseline for four to six weeks so the car smells consistent every time a door opens, without anyone having to remember anything on a busy morning. The spray gives a strong throw exactly when you want it, at 100 sprays a 10ml bottle, which is what you use before a specific pickup or when the car has been sitting closed all afternoon. Same oil, same price, from Rs 449 either way, so choose by how the car is used rather than by cost. In a chauffeur-driven car the natural split is a hanging bottle set low for the driver's day, plus a spray in the glovebox for rear-seat occasions. Never spray while driving.
The back of the car does not smell of anything. Should I loosen the stopper?
That is the instinct and it is the wrong lever. Loosening the stopper raises output at the source, and the source is at the rear-view mirror, so the biggest increase lands on the driver and the front row while the rear bench gains comparatively little. You end up with an over-scented front seat to achieve a modest change at the back. Put the fragrance where you want it instead: one spray toward the rear footwell, low, 15 to 30 minutes before the passenger gets in, windows cracked for a minute and then closed. That reaches the rear directly, at a level that has settled by the time the door opens. If you find yourself wanting the rear scented every single day, that is a case for the spray as the primary format for rear occasions with the hanging bottle kept low as a baseline.
Does the car being a Mercedes change any of this?
Not chemically, and it is worth saying that plainly. What changes the answer in any car is cabin volume, how many hours a day someone is inside it, how well sealed it is, and whether the heater or the air conditioning is running with the windows up. A large executive saloon has a slightly bigger cabin than a compact one, which mostly argues for patience rather than for more fragrance. Interior colour and trim - black leather, beige, tan, open-pore wood - are an aesthetic and mood consideration, not a technical one, and anyone telling you a particular scent is formulated for a particular marque is selling you something. Can the SOSA Safar work in a chauffeur-driven car?
It suits this use case better than most, for one specific reason: the timer.
