You have already worked out the difficult half of this on your own, which is rarer than it sounds. Most studios treat the door-opening moment and the fragrance decision as one thing. They are two things, and separating them is what makes the answer easy. One is about the car being finished. The other is about somebody else's cabin acquiring a smell they did not ask for and may not be able to undo without airing the car for a week. A gift can do the first without committing you to the second - but only in one of the two forms SOSA sells, and not for the reason most people assume.
SOSA car perfume spray and hanging variants, from Rs 449
SOSA car perfume · 12ml · spray or hanging, one price from ₹449 →
The form that keeps the decision with the owner. SOSA car perfume, 12ml, ₹449 to ₹509 - published in two variants at the same price: Spray (Strong scent-throw) and Hanging (Mild scent-throw). A spray is applied when the owner decides and leaves nothing visible in the cabin; a hanging bottle works from the moment it goes in. Alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, made in India.
Quick answers — read this first
How can a detailer give a scent moment at collection without choosing the scent for the owner? By handing over a sealed spray instead of putting anything in the car. SOSA car perfume is ₹449 to ₹509 at 12ml, published as Spray (Strong scent-throw) and Hanging (Mild scent-throw) at the same price. A spray is applied when the owner decides and leaves nothing visible in the cabin, so the decision travels with the car instead of being made at your counter.

Does the hanging bottle cost less than the spray? No. They are two variants of one 12ml product at one price - Jasmine is ₹449 in either form and Oud is ₹509 in either form. Neither is the upgrade. A hanging bottle works from the moment it goes in and occupies the rear-view mirror; a spray waits in a door pocket until somebody picks it up. That is the entire difference, and it is not a financial one.

Is there a published quantity rate for a detailing studio? No rate, no minimum quantity, no price break and no lead time is published anywhere, and nothing here will invent one. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is the one branding option offered. Quantities are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.
The short answer
Short answer: Yes. A spray is applied when the owner decides and leaves nothing visible in the cabin, so you create the moment without committing their car to a scent. SOSA car perfume is Rs 449 to Rs 509 at 12ml, and the spray and the hanging bottle are the same price, so this is not a budget choice. Quantities go to WhatsApp on +91 96192 18531.
The pick: The spray at ₹449 to ₹509 - identical in price to the hanging bottle, and the only form that leaves the decision with the person who owns the car.
Why: A hanging bottle begins working the moment it goes in and sits on the mirror. A spray does nothing until somebody picks it up, which is the difference you were describing.
Sending something when somebody is having a hard time - at a glanceKeep it small - candle ₹399, attar ₹379, car scent ₹449For their home - reed diffuser ₹749, nothing to switch onSay the words yourself - no card goes in the parcelNever - a parcel instead of turning up
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
Straight answer
We want every customer collecting a freshly detailed car to experience something when they open the door, but we do not want to permanently apply a fragrance they did not choose. Does gifting a spray give them control?
Yes, and it is worth being precise about why, because the two forms are the same product at the same price and the difference is easy to misread. SOSA car perfume is published at ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Sandalwood and Lavender, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, and ₹509 for Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at 12ml, and every one of those is sold in two variants the store names plainly - Spray (Strong scent-throw) and Hanging (Mild scent-throw) - at exactly the same price. So nothing about this decision is financial. A spray is applied when the owner decides to apply it, and it leaves nothing visible in the cabin. A hanging bottle works from the moment it goes in and occupies the rear-view mirror, which is the most looked-at object in any interior. For a car you do not own, that is the whole argument: handing over the sealed bottle gives the owner the moment at the door and keeps every subsequent decision theirs. Be clear about what the bottle is, too - it adds a scent, and it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and it is never a replacement for the interior work you just did. Everything is alcohol-free, oil and water based, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, made in India. On quantities: no bulk rate, no minimum quantity, no price break and no lead time is published anywhere, bulk orders are welcome, custom label or logo on product is the single branding option, and the conversation happens on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Applying a scent and handing one over feel identical from behind a counter. They are opposite acts, and only one of them leaves the customer able to change their mind.
The form that answers this question: the spray, ₹449 to ₹509 - the same price as the hanging bottle, sealed until the owner opens it, and nothing left on their mirror.

Two acts that look the same from the counter and are not

Three things settle this, and the first is the distinction you were already halfway to making.

1
The distinction
Applying a scent and handing one over are opposite acts
When you put a fragrance in a car, you have made a decision on behalf of somebody who is not in the room. When you hand a sealed bottle across a counter, you have made an offer. Those look the same on an invoice and they are not the same at all.

The practical difference is reversibility. A bottle that has not been opened can be left unopened, given away, or kept for the second car. A scent already released into an interior cannot be taken back out on request, and an owner who dislikes it has to wait it out. That is a small imposition, but it is an imposition you chose for them, in a car they are about to be particular about because it has just been detailed.

There is a second difference that matters at the door. The moment you described - the customer opening a freshly finished car - is created by the interior work, not by the fragrance. A clean, correctly dressed cabin already smells like something has happened. The bottle is what extends that past the forecourt, on the owner's terms. Loading the moment onto the fragrance is what pushes studios into applying something, and that is the step worth not taking.
Tip: An unopened bottle is an offer. A scent already in the cabin is a decision you made for them.
2
The mechanism
Same product, same price, two completely different behaviours
This is where the misreading happens, so it is worth stating flatly. Every 12ml SOSA car scent is published in two variants at one price. Jasmine is ₹449 whichever you pick. Sandalwood and Lavender are ₹479. Icy Mint is ₹489, Lemon ₹499, and Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. The store's own names carry the whole difference: Spray (Strong scent-throw) and Hanging (Mild scent-throw). Neither is the upgrade and neither is the economy option.

What actually differs is two things. Who decides when the scent happens. A spray sits in a door pocket doing nothing until the owner reaches for it, on a day they want it. A hanging bottle begins the moment it is hung and continues on the mornings nobody wanted it. And what stays visible. A hanging bottle occupies the rear-view mirror; a spray occupies a door pocket and shows nothing at all.

Map that onto your question and it answers itself. You want the moment at the door, and you do not want to commit somebody else's cabin. The spray is the form that does the first without doing the second. The hanging bottle is a genuinely good product for a car whose owner chose it - which, at a collection counter, is not the situation you are in.
3
The guess
You are still choosing a scent, so make the guess smaller
Handing over a spray removes the timing decision but not the scent decision. You are still picking what is in the bottle, and that is worth shrinking rather than pretending away.

Two practical ways to shrink it. Keep the range narrow and the choices safe. Jasmine at ₹449 and Lemon at ₹499 are the least likely to be actively disliked by somebody who did not choose them. Sandalwood at ₹479 is the warm middle. Oud at ₹509 is rich and woody and divides people, so keep it for customers whose taste you already know. Two or three scents on the shelf, not eight, also removes a decision from a busy collection slot.

Or hand the choosing over entirely. A Discovery Set at ₹699 to ₹899 is three travel-size mini sprays, so the owner finds their own answer rather than accepting yours. The eight trios are fixed and a chosen-to-order three is not offered, so pick the published trio closest to the customer.

Two things that are simply not published, and you should not let anybody fill them in for you. SOSA does not publish how long a 12ml bottle lasts, in either form, for any scent - only Mysore Orange Blossom publishes a life, spray only, at about 100 sprays at 10ml (₹549) and about 500 sprays at 50ml (₹1,499). And no bulk rate, no minimum quantity, no price break and no lead time exists on any page; quantities are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.
Tip: Narrow the shelf, or hand the choosing over with a fixed trio. Both shrink the guess.
SOSA Mysore Orange Blossom car perfume spray, Rs 549
The two variants, and why the price is not the question
Spray or Hanging - same product, same price, different control
The store publishes both forms of every 12ml scent and names them plainly: Spray (Strong scent-throw) and Hanging (Mild scent-throw). They cost the same - ₹449 for Jasmine up to ₹509 for Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver. So the decision is about two other things. Who decides when the scent happens: a spray sits in a glovebox until somebody picks it up; a hanging bottle works from the moment it goes in. And what stays visible: the hanging bottle hangs where the owner sees it, the spray does not. When the car belongs to your customer, those two usually settle it. Only Mysore Orange Blossom publishes a life: about 100 sprays at 10ml, about 500 at 50ml. No 12ml bottle publishes one, in either form.

Work it out in this order
How to build this into a collection without imposing on anybody
  1. Separate the two acts: applying a scent, and handing a sealed one over.
  2. Same product, same price. Only control and visibility actually differ.
  3. Keep two or three safe scents, or hand the choosing over with a fixed trio.
  4. Settle quantities and label on WhatsApp. Nothing is published to quote you.
The SOSA principle
The moment a customer opens a freshly detailed car is made by the interior work, not by a fragrance. Treat the bottle as what extends that moment on the owner's terms, and the question of which form to give stops being difficult.
It is also why the spray is the answer here even though the hanging bottle is the same product at the same price.

Which scent reduces the guess, and what is not published

Eight scents, and when you are choosing on somebody else's behalf the sensible shelf is narrower than the range. Jasmine at ₹449 is soft and floral and hard to object to. Lemon at ₹499 is bright and clean, and reads naturally as the smell of a car that has just been finished. Sandalwood at ₹479 is warm and considered. Icy Mint at ₹489 and Sea Breeze at ₹509 are the cool end, and Lavender at ₹479 sits quietly between the two. Oud at ₹509 is rich and woody, which makes it the one scent to reserve for customers you have actually discussed it with. All are alcohol-free, oil and water based, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, made in India.

The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to handle the scent at collection, and where each one breaks
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
Hand over a sealed spray · ₹449 to ₹509 The owner decides when and whether, nothing stays visible, and an unopened bottle can be kept, moved to another car or given away. It fails if you wanted the cabin to smell of something the second the door opens - a sealed bottle by definition has not done anything yet.
Hang a bottle in the car · the same ₹449 to ₹509 Present from the moment they open the door, and topped up later from a 15ml refill. It fails on exactly the ground you raised: it occupies their mirror and commits their cabin to a scent chosen at your counter, with no simple way for them to undo it.
Hand over a Discovery Set · ₹699 to ₹899 Three travel-size mini sprays in eight fixed curated trios, which removes the scent guess as well as the timing one. It fails on cost discipline if every collection gets one, and the trios are fixed - you cannot assemble three of your own.
Let them pick at the counter · your shelf The smallest guess of all, because the customer chooses in front of you. It fails on the thing collections are short of, which is time: a choice at the counter is a conversation, and it needs two or three scents on hand rather than one.
SOSA Car Perfume Discovery Set, three mini sprays
What exists for handing out in quantity, and what does not
Sets, combos, refills - and the four things nobody publishes
For businesses handing something to a lot of customers, this is the honest inventory. The Car Perfume Discovery Set is three travel-size mini sprays in eight fixed curated trios, ₹699 to ₹899, with a Pack of 9 at ₹2,999. Combos pair two scents at ₹899 and ₹949. 15ml refills are ₹399 to ₹449 and they refill the hanging bottle. Now the gaps, because you are planning around them: the trios are fixed and a build-your-own set is not offered; no spray refill is published; no bulk rate, minimum, lead time or per-unit cost is published anywhere; and no cost per spray can honestly be given. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available - that is the one branding option. Quantities are settled on WhatsApp.

Three more parts of the range, and one warning inside them. Combos pair two scents at ₹899 and ₹949, sold as spray or hanging at the same price, which is a reasonable way to give a choice without a full set. 15ml refills at ₹399 to ₹449 read like a useful follow-up until you look closely: they refill the hanging bottle, and no spray refill is published - a spray refill system is described as in development, so do not build a returning-customer offer on it. And SOSA Safar at ₹3,999 is a cordless waterless diffuser with three speeds and a 1, 2 or 3-hour auto shut-off - an imported device, roughly eight times a 12ml bottle, and a genuine answer only where a driver is in the car all day and controls the cabin themselves.

The one published fact that settles most of this decision
Spray and Hanging are the same price. So the choice is never the money.
Every SOSA car scent is sold in two forms and the store names them plainly: Spray (Strong scent-throw) and Hanging (Mild scent-throw). They cost exactly the same - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Sandalwood and Lavender, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, and ₹509 for Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at 12ml. So the decision is not a budget decision at all. It is two other things. Who decides when the scent happens: a spray waits in a glovebox until somebody picks it up, while a hanging bottle starts working the moment it goes in and keeps working. And what stays visible: a hanging bottle hangs where the owner sees it, and a spray does not. For a business handing something to a customer, those two facts usually decide it on their own, because the car belongs to the customer and not to you. Every one of these is alcohol-free, oil and water based, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, made in India. Only one scent publishes how long it lasts: Mysore Orange Blossom, spray only, about 100 sprays at 10ml for ₹549 and about 500 sprays at 50ml for ₹1,499. No 12ml bottle publishes a life, in either form.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.

Spray and Hanging are the same product at the same price. The store publishes them as Spray (Strong scent-throw) and Hanging (Mild scent-throw), and the choice is scent-throw and who controls it, never budget. Every SOSA car fragrance is alcohol-free, oil and water based, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and it is not a substitute for cleaning a car. No spray refill is published - the 15ml refills are for the hanging bottle. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, and quantities, rates and anything commercial are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than published here. What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Two forms, one price - Spray (Strong scent-throw) and Hanging (Mild scent-throw) are published as variants of the same 12ml product at the same price: Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, and Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. Every one also carries a 50ml spray at ₹1,499.
  • Composition - alcohol-free, oil and water based, phthalate-free, paraben-free, IFRA-compliant, formulated by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles trained, and made in India.
  • The only published longevity - Mysore Orange Blossom, spray only: about 100 sprays at 10ml (₹549) and about 500 sprays at 50ml (₹1,499), published as about 50 days at two sprays a day and 3 months and above at one. No other scent publishes a spray count or a duration, and no 12ml bottle publishes a life in either form.
  • Sets and combos - the Discovery Set is three travel-size mini sprays in eight fixed trios, ₹699 to ₹899, with a Pack of 9 at ₹2,999. Combos are ₹899 and ₹949. The trios are fixed; a build-your-own set is not offered.

A note from Sonal

The enquiries that come from automotive businesses are refreshingly unsentimental. Nobody writes to me about the magic of a first drive. They write: we hand over ninety cars a month, we currently give a keychain, and we are fairly sure nobody keeps it. That is a good question, and it deserves a better answer than a brochure.

So here is the part I would want you to take away, and it is the only part that is actually a fact. The spray and the hanging bottle are the same product at the same price. Jasmine is ₹449 either way. Oud is ₹509 either way. That surprises people, because they assume one must be the upgrade. Neither is. What you are choosing between is who decides when the scent happens and whether anything stays visible in the cabin - and when the car belongs to your customer rather than to you, those two questions usually answer themselves.

The part I will not pretend about is the part most of these enquiries are really asking. I cannot tell you that a gift brings anybody back. Nobody selling you a gift can, and the ones who say they can are selling you something else. What I can tell you is the mechanism: a small bottle goes into a car, it does not need fitting or explaining, it works the same in a hatchback and in a seven-seater, and if the customer likes it they will use it where they spend an hour a day. What that is worth to your business is your judgement, not mine.

And the honest gaps, because you are planning around them. There is no published bulk rate, no minimum, no lead time and no per-unit cost - not because they are secret but because they are settled properly in a conversation, and a page that invented them would be lying to you. Custom label or logo on product is real, and it is the only branding there is.

Frequently asked questions

Does handing over a spray really give the customer more control than a hanging bottle?
Yes, and the difference is mechanical rather than a matter of opinion. A spray is applied when the owner decides to apply it and leaves nothing visible in the cabin. A hanging bottle works from the moment it goes in and occupies the rear-view mirror. Both are the same 12ml product at the same price, so the choice is entirely about who decides and what stays in view.
Is the hanging version the cheaper option for a studio buying in quantity?
No. Every 12ml scent is published in both forms at a single price, from Jasmine at Rs 449 to Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at Rs 509, so the form never changes what you pay. Strong scent-throw and Mild scent-throw are descriptions of the two variants, not of two price points, and no bulk rate is published for either of them in any case.
Should we put the fragrance in the car before the customer arrives?
That is the one step this page would argue against, because it makes the scent decision for somebody who is not there and cannot easily undo it. Handing the sealed bottle over at collection gives the same object, at the same price, without committing their cabin. If you want the car to smell finished at the door, that comes from the interior work rather than from a fragrance.
Will a car perfume help if the interior still smells of food or damp?
It will not, and it is better to say so. A fragrance adds a scent; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and it is no substitute for cleaning the car properly. A bottle handed over after the interior work is finished is a gift. A bottle handed over instead of it is a complaint waiting to happen.
How many of our customers actually use something like this?
SOSA publishes no figure on that and this page will not guess at one. What is knowable is the mechanism and its limits: a sealed 12ml bottle goes into the car, it needs no fitting and no explanation, and it is used only if the owner decides to use it. Whether that changes anything about what a customer does next is not something SOSA can tell you, and nobody selling you a gift can either.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the buying reasoning applies to any brand.

Specifications verified from the live SOSA product pages, September 2026: every SOSA car fragrance is published in two forms of the same 12ml product - Spray, described on the store as strong scent-throw, and Hanging, described as mild scent-throw - and the two forms are the same price. Those prices are Jasmine ₹449; Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479; Icy Mint ₹489; Lemon ₹499; and Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. Each of those products also carries a 50ml car perfume spray at ₹1,499. Mysore Orange Blossom is sold as a spray only, at ₹549 for 10ml and ₹1,499 for 50ml, and is the only car scent publishing a spray count: approximately 100 sprays in the 10ml and approximately 500 sprays in the 50ml, stated as about 50 days at two sprays a day and three months and above at one spray a day. Car perfume combos are ₹899 for Jasmine with Lemon and Jasmine with Lavender, and ₹949 for Oud with Lemon and Sandalwood with Oud. The Car Perfume Discovery Set is three travel-size mini sprays in one of eight fixed curated trios, ₹699 to ₹899, with a Pack of 9 at ₹2,999. Car hanging freshener refills are 15ml at ₹399 to ₹449. Every SOSA car fragrance is alcohol-free, oil and water based, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, and is made in India. SOSA Safar ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios, is a waterless cordless portable diffuser of approximately 6.9 cm with a 2000 mAh Type-C battery giving up to 10 hours continuous or 30 hours intermittent per charge, three speeds and a 1, 2 or 3-hour auto shut-off; its country of origin is China. What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: how long a 12ml bottle lasts in either form; any spray count or duration for any scent other than Mysore Orange Blossom; any cost per spray; any bulk rate, minimum quantity, slab, price break, lead time, turnaround or per-unit cost; any trade, partner or dealer programme; and any spray refill, since the 15ml refills are published for the hanging bottle. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and it is never a substitute for cleaning a vehicle. No claim is made anywhere on this page about mood, stress, calm, alertness or wellbeing, nor about the safety of any product for children, pregnant passengers, elderly passengers or pets, nor about flammability, nor about how any customer or passenger will feel. No claim is made about business outcomes. Nothing on this page states or implies that a gift increases customer retention, referrals, repeat business, reviews, recall or sales; SOSA publishes no data of that kind and none is invented here. No competitor is named or characterised, and no rating, review count or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
