Most of what I write on this site tells you to buy one bottle. This is the one question where I will tell you something different, because an oud lover's day and night genuinely ask for different things, and the range was built to answer both.
Quick answers — read this first
Should an oud lover own more than one oud attar? Yes, and it is the one place in this family where I say so plainly. SOSA Nawaab is dry and deep for the day, SOSA Mastani sweeter and richer for the evening, and SOSA Ameeri can do both.
Which one bottle does both day and night?SOSA Ameeri at ₹385. Taif rose rounds the soft oudh, so one dab is an easy daytime thing and two dabs carry an evening. It is the answer if you want a single bottle.
What is the best way to own all three? The Attar Trio at ₹1,055 is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani in 3ml each. For an oud lover, this is genuinely the right purchase, not an upsell.
The short answer
Short answer: Yes. Nawaab is dry for day, Mastani is sweeter for night, and Ameeri is the one bottle that does both. The Trio holds all three.
The pick: The Attar Trio at ₹1,055 for an oud lover who wants the full shelf. Or one 3ml of SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 if one bottle is the aim.
Next step: Tell us what your day looks like and what your evenings are, and we will say whether one bottle or three suits you. Ask for an attar recommendation.
The three SOSA ouds placed by when you would wear them, day, night or either, with the 3ml price under each and the Trio, which is the one place in this family I recommend buying more than one.
The day oud, the night oud and the box that holds both, on their live pages
Should an Oud Lover Own Different Oud Attars for Day and Night?
Yes. An oud lover's day and night ask for different things, and SOSA's three ouds divide naturally between them. Here is the answer in five steps, ending with the one time I will tell you to buy the box.
1. Use a dry oud for day.SOSA Nawaab at ₹399 is white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf, on amber, leather and white musk. Dry and deep, with no sweetness to carry, so one dab sits easily on an ordinary day.
2. Use a sweeter, richer oud for night.SOSA Mastani at ₹389 puts oudh under night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose, then Mysore sandalwood, Madagascar vanilla and tonka. Genuinely sweet, and made for a cooler evening.
3. Or choose one bottle that does both.SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 has Persian saffron, pink pepper and bergamot over Taif rose and Indian sandalwood, on soft oudh, amber and white musk. One dab for the day, two for dinner.
4. Dose by the hour, not by the bottle. One dab is a whisper and two is a sentence. SOSA states six to eight hours on skin and nothing further, so you apply once for the part of the day you are dressing for.
5. Buy the Trio if you want all three. The Attar Trio at ₹1,055 is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani. For an oud lover this is the right purchase, and it is the one place in this family where I say so.
Nobody can promise you what anyone else will think of it, and I am not going to. What an oud attar can be is consistent, close and distinctive. What it does in someone else's head is theirs.
The purchase I would make is the Attar Trio at ₹1,055: Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, in 3ml each. That is a day oud, a night oud and the one that does either, in a single box. They are alcohol-free roll-on oils on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, hand-blended in Pune. If one bottle is the aim, SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 is the single answer.
SOSA makes three attars with oud. All are alcohol-free roll-on oils on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, hand-blended in Pune, in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml, and they fall into exactly the pattern a day-and-night shelf needs.
₹399 for 3ml, ₹699 for 6ml, ₹1,199 for 12ml. White royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf on amber, leather and white musk. Dry rather than sweet, which is what makes it workable in daylight: nothing sugary to carry around, and one dab is the whole dose.
₹389 for 3ml, ₹685 for 6ml, ₹1,179 for 12ml. Litchi, bergamot and pink pepper over night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose, on Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla and tonka. A deep floral-gourmand, warm and sweet, and the one I would keep for evenings and cooler weather.
₹385 for 3ml, ₹679 for 6ml, ₹1,165 for 12ml. Persian saffron, pink pepper and bergamot over Taif rose and Indian sandalwood, on soft oudh, amber and white musk. Rose rounds the oud, so one dab is easy for the day and two dabs carry an evening. If you want one oud only, this is the one.
I do not often tell anyone to buy more than one. These are the three reasons that, for an oud lover, the box is the exception.
1
One
Oud is a family with three real directions, not three prices
Most of the time I tell people the three compositions are different in degree, and one bottle is plenty. With oud, they are different in kind: Nawaab is dry, Ameeri is rounded by rose and Mastani is sweet under night flowers. Someone who loves oud usually loves more than one of those at different times, which is why a day-and-night shelf makes sense here and nowhere else in this family.
Tip: Name which two directions you reach for most, and those are the two bottles you will use daily.
Nawaab at ₹399 is the dry direction, and the natural day oud of the three.
The day and the night ask different things of a fragrance
A morning in a shared room wants something dry and close. An evening that you have time for can carry something sweeter, richer and more floral. A single oud can cover both with a change of dose, and Ameeri does it best. But if you love oud, it is a pleasure to have a composition built for each, rather than one asked to do both jobs. That is not a necessity. It is a pleasure, and a small one.
Tip: Match the dose to the room, not the hour: one dab where the air is shared, two where it is not.
Mastani at ₹389 is the evening oud: jasmine, Damask rose, vanilla and tonka over oudh.
The Trio is the way to find out which two you actually wear
The Attar Trio from ₹1,055 puts all three on your shelf in 3ml each. You do not have to choose before you know. After a season you will have two that you reach for and one you do not, and that is the information a 6ml or 12ml purchase should follow. It is a better method than guessing, and the box makes it a single decision.
Tip: Wear each for two ordinary days before you decide. Comparing them on the same afternoon blurs them.
The Attar Trio from ₹1,055 is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani in one box, and for an oud lover it is the right first purchase.
Most fragrance advice tells you to find one signature and stay with it. Oud lovers are the exception, because oud is not one scent but a family, and a family can have a day member and a night member.
The range happens to divide that way: dry, rounded and sweet. Owning two or three is not excess, it is simply covering the family.
The dry oud, for the day: Nawaab at ₹399 is white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron and aged tobacco leaf on amber, leather and white musk. Deep, dry and oud-led from the first minute.
The sweeter oud, for the night: Mastani at ₹389 is litchi and pink pepper over night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose, on Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla and tonka. Warm, floral and sweet.
The Trio is 3ml each: ₹1,055 for 3ml, ₹1,859 for 6ml, ₹3,189 for 12ml across three sizes. If you buy single bottles after a season, the 6ml and 12ml are ₹399 for 3ml, ₹699 for 6ml, ₹1,199 for 12ml for Nawaab, ₹389 for 3ml, ₹685 for 6ml, ₹1,179 for 12ml for Mastani and ₹385 for 3ml, ₹679 for 6ml, ₹1,165 for 12ml for Ameeri. SOSA states six to eight hours on skin and nothing further; how far a fragrance carries depends on skin, dose, clothing and the weather, and varies from person to person. Where a workplace or venue sets a fragrance-free policy, that policy decides what may be worn and it outranks anything written here. Nobody can promise you what anyone else will think of it, and I am not going to. Ours is a contact page and a person who replies — Ask for an attar recommendation and tell us about your days and evenings.

A note from Sonal
I have spent most of this series telling people to buy one 3ml and wait. It is the right advice for most questions. It is not the right advice for this one, and I would be dishonest if I pretended it were.
Oud is a family. The dry one and the sweet one are not the same composition in different strengths, and someone who loves oud will usually like more than one of the three. The three in this range are directions rather than a ladder. Nawaab is the dry one, Mastani the sweet one and Ameeri the one between.
So here, and only here, I will say buy the box. Nobody can promise you what anyone else will think of how you smell, so the only measure that matters is whether you enjoy each one at hour three. A portion of every order supports Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Do I really need more than one oud attar?
You do not need to, and SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 will cover both day and night on a change of dose. But oud has three directions in this range, dry, rounded and sweet, and an oud lover often enjoys more than one. That is why this is the one question where I recommend the box.
Which is the day oud and which is the night oud?
SOSA Nawaab is the dry, deep oud for the day, and SOSA Mastani is the sweeter, richer one for the evening. SOSA Ameeri sits between and does either. This is a suggestion rather than a rule; wear what you reach for.
Is the Trio good value for an oud lover?
It is the right purchase in that it puts all three oud directions in front of you at ₹1,055 for 3ml each, which is how an oud lover finds out which two they actually wear. It is not a discount scheme and I will not call it one.
Can I wear two ouds on the same day?
Yes, but not on the same skin at the same time. Use one in the morning and another in the evening, on a different wrist if you like, and judge each at hour three. SOSA states six to eight hours on skin and nothing further.
What if I only want one bottle?
SOSA Ameeri at ₹385. Taif rose rounds the soft oudh, so one dab suits the day and two suit an evening. If you want it dry, SOSA Nawaab at ₹399, and if you want it sweet, SOSA Mastani at ₹389.
All three, if you want the full shelf: the Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani box from ₹1,055, which is the plain answer to this question and the one time I say so.
SOSA — Day And Night Oudthe dry one, the sweet one and the one between, in a single box
The Attar Trio at ₹1,055 is Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani in 3ml each. All alcohol-free, hand-blended in Pune, on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier. SOSA Ameeri at ₹385 is the single bottle if you want only one. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali.

The compositions are made in India to IFRA standards and are phthalate-free; a patch test on first use is the only advice offered on skin. Alcohol-free and DPG-free are statements about ingredients and nothing more. SOSA's attars are Indian-made compositions in a rose, oud, sandalwood and saffron idiom; they are not presented as the product of any other house and are not described as a version of any named fragrance. Fragrance is a grooming and personal-style decision. SOSA makes no medical, clinical, dermatological or therapeutic claim of any kind, and no claim about how a fragrance will be received by anyone else. Where a workplace, venue or household sets a fragrance-free policy, that policy decides what may be worn and it outranks anything written here. How far a fragrance carries depends on skin, dose, clothing, climate and the day, and varies from person to person. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali.
