This question gets argued in the abstract and it should not be. There is a rule that resolves it in one line, a cost comparison that is easy to run, and a short list of things each route genuinely gives up. All three are below.
Quick answers — read this first
Is one large scent machine better than several small ones in a car showroom? Neither is better in general. The rule is one machine per connected body of air. If the showroom is one open ducted volume, one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999, 3,000m³) distributes on existing airflow and beats several units on evenness and maintenance. If the showroom is split into separately cooled zones, several SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, 1000m³ each) are correct, because scent will not cross between cooling loops on its own.
What is wrong with putting several diffusers in one big showroom? Inside a single connected volume, extra machines build strong pockets around themselves rather than raising the whole room evenly, and each one adds a tank, a schedule and an intensity dial that will drift. Three SOSA Vaayu cost ₹35,997 against ₹25,999 for one SOSA Angaan covering the same 3,000m³, so the stacked route is usually more expensive as well as less even.
Which works out cheaper per square foot, one big machine or several small ones? The large machine, on rated coverage. One SOSA Vaayu is ₹11,999 for 1000m³, about ₹12 per cubic metre. One SOSA Angaan is ₹25,999 for 3,000m³, about ₹8.70 per cubic metre. That advantage only applies where a single machine can actually reach the whole space, which in practice means a ducted building.
The short answer
Short answer: one machine per connected body of air. Several SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, 1000m³ each) where a showroom is divided into separately cooled zones; one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999, 3,000m³) where it is a single ducted volume. Stacking several machines inside one open floor is the only clearly wrong answer.
The pick: several SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999 each) for a zoned showroom, one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) for a single large ducted volume.
Next step: tell us how many separately cooled areas your showroom has and we will settle the argument - book a free coverage plan.
The argument is usually framed as big against small. It is really about how many separate bodies of air the building has, and stacking machines inside one of them is the only genuinely wrong answer.
Should a car showroom use one large scent machine or several small ones?
The rule is one machine per connected body of air, and almost every argument about this is really an argument about how many bodies of air the building has. If your showroom is a single open volume ducted from one air handling unit, that is one body of air, and one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999, rated 3,000m³) will beat several small units, because the ducting distributes for you and the far corner receives what the entrance receives. If the site is a showroom floor, a separately cooled customer lounge and a delivery bay on its own split, that is three bodies of air, and three SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999 each, 1000m³ each) are correct - not a compromise, the correct answer - because scent does not cross a cooling boundary on its own. The genuinely wrong answer is the one people reach for most: several machines inside one open floor. Extra units in a single volume build a strong pocket around each machine rather than lifting the whole room, and they multiply the things that decay - four tanks on four refill dates, four schedules, four intensity dials that different people adjust in different weeks. Now the honest costs of each side. The large machine works out at about ₹8.70 per m³ of rated coverage against about ₹12 per m³ for the small one, needs a duct to be at its best, cannot run one zone softer than another, and if it stops the whole site is unscented. Several small machines give you independent intensity per zone, keep working if one fails, need no ducting at all, and cost more per cubic metre with more to maintain. Neither is a premium option. One honest note: fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning either way. A free coverage plan will tell you which shape your building is.
One machine per connected body of air. One ducted volume means one large machine; several cooled zones mean one machine each. Never several inside one open floor.
On the multiple-machine side of the argument the unit is the SOSA Vaayu - 1000m³ each at ₹11,999, independently scheduled and adjusted, waterless, under 38dB, with a 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days and a key-lock so a public floor cannot retune it.
Each side of this argument has a machine attached to it. Both images link to the live product page so you can compare the ratings rather than the rhetoric.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about ₹12 per cubic metre of rated coverage. One per separately cooled zone, each with its own intensity and schedule. 400ml tank up to 75 days, app timers, under 38dB, key-lock, no ducting needed.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, about ₹8.70 per cubic metre of rated coverage. One reservoir, one schedule, one intensity, distributed by the building's own ducting. 800ml, metal body, under 42dB, HVAC-connected or standalone.
A large ducted floor on one Angaan plus a Vaayu on the first-floor lounge is the commonest honest specification, because almost no dealership is a single perfectly sealed volume.
1000m³ coverage per unit (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, independently adjustable intensity, under 38dB, freestanding, wall or HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India.
Three arguments settle this, and price is the least important of them. Evenness, maintenance, and what each route costs per cubic metre of coverage you can actually use.
1
Evenness
Distribution is done by air, not by machine count
A machine raises the fragrance level in the air immediately around it and then relies on the room's air movement to carry it further. Put four machines in one open showroom and you get four raised areas and whatever the air between them manages, which on a big floor with cars absorbing and blocking airflow is not much. Put one machine on the supply duct and every outlet in the building becomes a diffusion point. That is why the single-machine route wins on evenness wherever ducting exists, and why it has no advantage at all where it does not.
Tip: count the diffusion points, not the machines. A duct has dozens.
The Angaan turns the building's ducting into the distribution network, covering up to 3,000m³ evenly.
Every machine is a setting somebody will eventually change
This is the argument nobody makes at the quoting stage and everybody makes a year later. Each additional unit is another tank to refill on another date, another schedule to keep aligned and another intensity dial on a public floor. Settings drift because a salesperson turns one down on a quiet afternoon and nobody turns it back up. If you do run several machines, engage the key-lock on all of them, put one named person in charge and keep the intensities written down. One machine avoids the problem by having nothing to disagree with.
Every Vaayu has a key-lock and app scheduling, which is what makes a multi-machine site stay consistent.
About ₹12 against about ₹8.70, and it only counts if you can use it
One Vaayu is ₹11,999 for 1000m³ of rated coverage, which is about ₹12 per cubic metre. One Angaan is ₹25,999 for 3,000m³, about ₹8.70 per cubic metre. So the large machine is roughly a quarter cheaper per unit of coverage - but only where a single machine can genuinely reach the whole space. Rated coverage you cannot reach is not coverage. In a showroom split into three sealed zones, an Angaan's 3,000m³ is worth whatever the largest zone is, and the small machines win on every count.
Tip: compare cost per cubic metre you can actually reach, not cost per machine.
Two Vaayu at ₹23,998 cover two independent zones - useful capacity in both, which is the number that matters.
Machines do not distribute fragrance. Air does. Every argument in this debate is really a question about how your building moves air.
Rated coverage a machine cannot reach is not coverage, however good the price per cubic metre looks.
The single-machine side: SOSA Angaan covers 3,000m³ from one unit - about 8,000-10,000 sq ft - with one 800ml reservoir and one programmable schedule, distributed by your own ducting. ₹25,999.
Cost per cubic metre, and what each route gives up
Here is the argument settled by building type rather than by preference. Read down the left column until you find your showroom.
The SOSA plan
One machine or several - by building, not by budget
Your showroom
The right route
One open floor, ducted from a single air handling unit
One large machine. SOSA Angaan (₹25,999), 3,000m³, one reservoir, one schedule, even across the whole volume. View →
Showroom, lounge and bay on separate split systems
Several machines. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) per zone, same fragrance, independent intensity. View →
A large ducted floor plus one room on its own AC
Both. One large machine on the ducted volume and one Vaayu on the room the ducting cannot reach. View →
One open floor with four machines already installed
Consolidate. Several units inside a single volume is the one route that costs more and performs worse. View →
Whichever route the building points to, run one fragrance at matched intensity across every machine, and write the settings down so a year from now somebody can restore them. If you want this argument attached to a specific floor area rather than in the abstract, how to scent a 7,500 sq ft dealership is where the two routes are closest and the decision is genuinely finely balanced, while how many machines a 10,000 sq ft dealership needs is where it stops being an argument at all. The same principle applies outside automobile retail - see our sales gallery scenting plan.
The multiple-machine side: SOSA Vaayu, 1000m³ each, independently scheduled and adjusted, needing no ducting and no plant room. ₹11,999.
Two machines, two philosophies, and a rule that decides between them without any philosophy at all. Both are waterless, so no mist, no damp and no residue on paintwork or upholstery, and both are made in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
A quick word on choosing: if you take only one thing from this page, take the rule - one machine per connected body of air. It gives the right answer at every size, in both directions, and it stops the two failure modes at once: one machine trying to reach through a closed cooling boundary, and four machines competing inside one open floor. One honest note - fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning and cannot cover paint, adhesive or workshop fumes on either route. A free coverage plan will count your volumes with you.

A note from Sonal
The showrooms that smell wrong are almost never under-specified. They are badly placed. A machine tucked behind a display car, or sitting on a shelf in still air at the back of the floor, will scent about four metres of the room and nothing else, no matter how large it is or how hard you run it.
Air movement does the distribution, not the machine. Put the Vaayu where air is genuinely travelling - beside the return, near the entrance airflow, mounted around two to two and a half metres up - and its 1000m³ rating behaves like 1000m³. Where the whole floor runs on one central system, mounting an Angaan to the duct removes the placement question altogether, because the building becomes the distribution system.
Two honest notes. Fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning and replaces neither, and it will not cover fresh paint, adhesive, damp or the smell of a workshop. And we make no claim that scent influences a purchase decision - our claim is that a well-scented room reads as a finished room. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel. Everything is made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
Is one large scent machine better than several small ones for a car showroom?
Neither in general. The rule is one machine per connected body of air. A single open ducted volume is best served by one large machine, because the ducting distributes evenly. A showroom split into separately cooled zones needs one machine in each, because scent does not cross a cooling boundary on its own. The building decides, not the budget.
What is wrong with installing four small diffusers in one big showroom?
Inside one connected volume, extra machines create strong pockets around themselves rather than raising the whole room, so you get four good areas and a weak middle. They also add four tanks, four schedules and four intensity settings that drift apart over a year. Four SOSA Vaayu are Rs 47,996 against Rs 25,999 for one SOSA Angaan covering 3,000 cubic metres.
Which is cheaper per cubic metre of coverage?
The large machine. One SOSA Vaayu is Rs 11,999 for 1000 cubic metres, about Rs 12 per cubic metre. One SOSA Angaan is Rs 25,999 for 3,000 cubic metres, about Rs 8.70 per cubic metre. That advantage only counts where a single machine can physically reach the whole space, which usually means a ducted building.
What does the multiple-machine route give you that one machine does not?
Independent intensity per zone, so a lounge where customers sit for an hour can run softer than the showroom floor. No dependence on ducting or a plant room. And resilience: if one unit is out for a refill or a fault, the rest of the site is still scented. Those are real advantages, not consolation prizes.
Can more machines make up for poor ventilation in a showroom?
No. Fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning and is not a substitute for either, on either route. It cannot cover paint, adhesive, damp or workshop fumes, and adding machines only makes both smells stronger. SOSA also makes no claim that fragrance influences a purchase decision.
The hybrid most sites land on: One large machine on the ducted floor and a SOSA Vaayu on whatever sits on its own cooling loop, same fragrance in both. ₹11,999.
SOSA — Showroom Scentingone large machine, or one per zone
The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, 1000m³) is the per-zone machine for a showroom divided by separate cooling; the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999, 3,000m³) is the single-machine answer for one large ducted volume. Both waterless, both made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Tell us how many separately cooled areas you have and we will settle it before you spend anything.

Facts verified 24 August 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with a 400ml refillable tank lasting up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and onboard button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, operation under 38dB, freestanding, wall or HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and operation under 42dB, connecting to the building's HVAC or running standalone wall-mounted or lay-flat. Cost per cubic metre figures are simple arithmetic on those two prices and ratings. Scent enhances the ambience and perceived quality of a space; it works alongside proper ventilation and cleaning and is not a substitute for either, and SOSA makes no claim that fragrance alone influences a purchase decision. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
