I am going to describe your oil rather than name it. Soft, soapy-clean, powdery-adjacent and very low-projecting is a register SOSA does not make, and I will not imply otherwise. What I can offer is the nearest bottle, and a clear account of what changes.
Quick answers — read this first
Does SOSA make a soft, soapy white musk oil? No. SOSA makes no white musk attar, no musk soliflore and no aldehydic, soapy scent. White musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab. Nothing in the range is a like-for-like for that style.

What is the nearest SOSA bottle to it? SOSA Adaa, from ₹379 for 3ml: white musk with vetiver and cedarwood under bergamot, cardamom, neroli and three white flowers. It is the same roll-on oil format, but drier and with no soap in it.

What if soft matters more than dry? SOSA Bahaar is a perfume oil of crisp orchard pear, freesia and soft musk, from ₹599 for 10ml. It is pear-led, not a white musk, and it is the soft-musk second answer.
The short answer
Short answer: Nothing in the range is soft, soapy-clean and powdery-adjacent. Adaa is the nearest on softness and closeness, and it is drier. Soap is not on offer.
The pick: One 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379, worn on one wrist with your old oil on the other, judged at hour three. SOSA Bahaar if soft matters more than dry.
Next step: If soap-clean is the part you would keep, write and tell us which part. We will say if anything here is worth your 3ml, or nothing is. Ask for an attar recommendation.
Nothing here is soapy-clean; Adaa is nearestSoft, soapy-clean, powdery: SOSA makes no such oilNo aldehydes and no musk soliflore in the rangeAdaa: white musk, vetiver, cedarwood; drier than yoursBahaar: pear, freesia, soft musk; a soft-musk secondAdaa from Rs 379 for 3ml; wear it beside yours
The first two bars are the gap, in the order a loyal reader needs it. The next two are the two honest approximations. The last is the 3ml price, and the suggestion that you wear the new one on one wrist and the old one on the other.

Straight answer
I Love the Soft, Soapy-Clean White Musk Style of High-Street Perfume Oils — Which Premium Compositions Might Appeal to Me?
There is no premium composition in the range that is the same kind of smell as that oil. There is one that shares part of it, and one that shares a different part. Here is the honest sorting in five steps.

1. Take the gap first. SOSA makes no white musk attar, no musk soliflore and no aldehydic, soapy scent. The style you describe is soft, soapy-clean, powdery-adjacent and very low-projecting, and the range is not built to give it.

2. I am not naming the house. SOSA has no composition built from it, and putting its name in a sentence beside ours would suggest an equivalence that does not exist. I describe the style, and you will know the one I mean.

3. Split the four properties. Soft and close you can have, in part. Soapy comes from aldehydes, and powdery-adjacent from iris, heliotrope or violet; none of those is in Adaa's published pyramid. That is the part that goes.

4. Take Adaa as the nearest. SOSA Adaa at ₹379: white musk with vetiver and cedarwood under bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang. The same oil-on-skin format, softer in the middle, and drier at the end.

5. Take Bahaar if soft is the point. SOSA Bahaar is a perfume oil of crisp orchard pear, freesia and soft musk, from ₹599 for 10ml. Pear-led and not a white musk, but it is the one pyramid that lists a soft musk.

I cannot promise you will not miss the old oil, and a loyal reader usually does. I can tell you what changes, so it is a choice you make and not a surprise.
Nothing in the range is a soft, soapy-clean white musk oil. SOSA Adaa at ₹379 is the nearest and is drier; SOSA Bahaar lists a soft musk and is pear-led. Wear either beside your old oil first.
What to buy when nothing in the range is your oil
The product Nothing is a like-for-like. The nearest is SOSA Adaa, an alcohol-free roll-on oil with white musk as a base note beside vetiver and cedarwood, hand-blended in Pune. Soft musk with a pear opening is SOSA Bahaar.
The size to start on The 3ml of Adaa at ₹379, or the 10ml of Bahaar at ₹599. Not the larger sizes; you are testing a substitute, not replacing a habit.
Dabs, and where One dab on the wrist, with your old oil on the other. One dab is a whisper, and a very low-projecting reader should never need a second.
At hour three Adaa has lost its citrus and its white flowers and settles to white musk with vetiver and cedarwood: close and dry, with no soap in it. That is the difference you are choosing.
What it costs to stay on it One small bottle, and your old oil stays where it is. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin for the attars; there is nothing to buy beyond the test until you have worn both.
I would not tell you this replaces what you have, because it does not. It is the nearest honest thing I make, and it is drier. If soap-clean is the part you would keep, write to me before you spend anything, and I will say so plainly.
Ask for an attar recommendation
If you try one bottle, make it one 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379, and wear it beside your old oil: Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli on top, jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang in the heart, white musk, vetiver and cedarwood underneath. Alcohol-free, roll-on, hand-blended in Pune, no oudh. It is nearer than anything else I make, and it is not the same.

What the nearest bottles are

Two of the attars share part of what you love, and neither shares all of it. All four are alcohol-free, DPG-free roll-on oils on a sandalwood and jojoba carrier, in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml, which is the same format as the oil you know. The cards say which part each one keeps.

SOSA Adaa
The nearest: soft in the middle, drier at the end
SOSA Adaa
₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml, ₹1,149 for 12ml. Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. The lightest of the four, no oudh. It keeps the white musk and the closeness, and drops the soap and the powder, because neither is in the published pyramid.
From ₹379
SOSA Ameeri
Softer and rounder, with sandalwood under the musk
SOSA Ameeri
₹385 for 3ml, ₹679 for 6ml, ₹1,165 for 12ml. Persian saffron, pink pepper and bergamot over Taif rose and Indian sandalwood, on soft oudh, amber and white musk. Round and creamy, but it carries some oudh and amber, so it is a warmer fragrance than the one you wear. Take it only if soft matters more than clean.
From ₹385
SOSA Mastani
Soft in a different way, and not a white musk
SOSA Mastani · alcohol-free roll-on attar
₹389 for 3ml, ₹685 for 6ml, ₹1,179 for 12ml. Litchi, bergamot and pink pepper over night-blooming jasmine and Damask rose, on Mysore sandalwood, oudh, Madagascar vanilla and tonka. Deep and floral-gourmand, with no white musk in the published base. It will not read as your oil, so I name it only to rule it out.

Why the old oil is hard to replace

I have not analysed that bottle and will not pretend to. What follows describes the style you have given me. It is why each of its properties is hard to find in any composition, ours included.

1
One
Soft and very low-projecting is a dose, not a recipe
A fragrance that stays this close is usually one quiet idea at a modest level. That is a different job from building a pyramid that opens, develops and dries. Adaa is built to travel through three stages, and one dab is a whisper, so it can sit close, but it will change on your skin where the old oil did not. I will not give you a distance figure, because I do not make claims about how far any fragrance carries.
Tip: Judge Adaa at hour three, not at minute five. The first stage is the least like your oil and the shortest.
SOSA Adaa
Adaa at ₹379 is the one to hold beside your oil: one dab on one wrist, one on the other.
See SOSA Adaa →
2
Two
The soapy edge is the one thing you cannot buy here
A soapy-clean impression comes from aldehydes beside the musk: waxy, sparkling, the smell of a new bar. SOSA makes no aldehydic, soapy scent, and Adaa's published pyramid lists no aldehydes. If that edge is what you love, the range will not give it to you, and I would rather say so than sell you something that disappoints on the second day.
Tip: If you are unsure whether it is the soap or the softness you love, wear the old oil on one wrist and note which you miss at hour two.
SOSA Ameeri
Ameeri at ₹385 puts the same white musk under sandalwood and amber, and it is rounder than Adaa, not soapier.
See SOSA Ameeri →
3
Three
Powdery-adjacent goes too, and so does a little sweetness
Iris, heliotrope or violet beside a white musk gives the powdery edge. None of the three is in Adaa, so what you meet at the end is dry rather than dusty. For some readers that is a relief and for others it is a loss. Bahaar lists a soft musk under pear and freesia, but it is pear-led and lists no powder material that I can point to. Expect to give powder up wherever you go in this range.
Tip: Powder is the second thing readers say they miss. Decide before you buy whether you can live without it.
SOSA Mastani
Mastani at ₹389 is sweet and deep, not powdery. A different fragrance from your oil, kept here to rule it out.
See SOSA Mastani →
The SOSA principle
A scent you have worn for years is partly a smell and partly a habit. The habit is easier to transfer than the smell, which is why the honest test is a small bottle on the other wrist, not a replacement bought on a promise.
That is the reasoning behind every recommendation on this page. It is not that Adaa is the same. It is that you can find out cheaply whether the dry version suits you, and keep the old one in the meantime.
SOSA Adaa
The nearest, and drier by design: Adaa at ₹379: Calabrian bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over three white flowers, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. The lightest of the four attars, no oudh, in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml.

What you love, and what SOSA has of it

The qualities in your description, one at a time, with a plain answer on each. Two rows are a no, two are a partial yes, and one is a different bottle that gets closer on softness.

The SOSA plan
What you love in a soft white musk oil, and what SOSA has of it
What you love about it What SOSA has of it, said plainly
SOSA AdaaSoft: no edges, nothing sharp
Partly. Adaa's heart of jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang is soft, but the cardamom in the top and the woods at the end have more edge than a single soft accord would. View →
Soapy-clean: a new bar on warm skin
No. SOSA makes no aldehydic, soapy scent, and none is listed in Adaa. If this is the part you love, nothing in the range is it.
Powdery-adjacent: a soft, dusty edge
No. Iris, heliotrope and violet are absent from Adaa's pyramid. What you meet instead is vetiver and cedarwood: dry, not dusty.
SOSA AdaaVery low-projecting: close to the skin
One dab of Adaa is a whisper, and its base is a close white musk. I make no claim about how far it carries; wear it and judge. View →
Soft musk with something fresh on top
SOSA Bahaar at ₹599 for 10ml: crisp orchard pear, freesia and soft musk. A perfume oil, pear-led, and not a white musk. View →

If you want the whole case for why there is no white musk attar and where powder comes from, the opening page of this set says it first. If you want to see how the same musk can come out airy, creamy or soapy, why some white musks smell powdery and others skin-like takes the causes apart, and how to tell a powdery white musk from a soft skin musk online is the buying checklist. And if you would rather have one clear next step, tell us which part of your old oil you would keep and we will answer in plain words.

Answer these two, and the bottle or the honest no chooses itself
Which part of your current oil would you keep?
  • The soap-and-powder character itself
  • The softness, and how little it announces
If the soap has to go, what would you rather have instead?
  • Dry and skin-like, with nothing sweet
  • Round and soft, with something fresh on top
The soap-and-powder character itself
Nothing in the range is this. SOSA makes no soapy or powdery scent and no white musk attar, and I would rather say so than sell you a 3ml that disappoints. Write to us with what you wear now and we will tell you straight whether anything here is worth trying.
The softness, and I would take dry
SOSA Adaa. White musk with vetiver and cedarwood under bergamot, cardamom, neroli and three white flowers. Start with the 3ml at ₹379, one dab on one wrist and your old oil on the other.
The softness, and I would take round and fresh
SOSA Bahaar, a perfume oil of crisp orchard pear, freesia and soft musk. Pear-led, so it is not a white musk, but it is the one that lists a soft musk. The 10ml starts at ₹599.
I am not sure which part I would keep
Then do nothing more than one 3ml of SOSA Adaa at ₹379 beside the old oil, three ordinary days, judged at hour three. Nothing further is needed until you know which part you missed.
SOSA Ameeri
If soft matters more than clean: Ameeri at ₹385 adds Indian sandalwood, Taif rose, amber and some soft oudh to the same white musk. Rounder and creamier than Adaa, and a warmer fragrance overall.
Dry or soft: two honest approximations
The fork is dry or soft. Adaa is white musk with vetiver and cedarwood, close and dry. Bahaar is a perfume oil of pear, freesia and soft musk. Pick the word you would miss least.
See the SOSA AdaaSee the SOSA Bahaar
A loyal reader does not need a replacement, they need an honest account of what changes, a small bottle, and permission to keep the old one on the other wrist.

The SOSA specification for a soft white musk reader

Two rows. Adaa is the nearest on closeness and the white musk base, and drier. Bahaar is the one that lists a soft musk, and is pear-led. The note underneath says what neither of them is, and what to do if your word was soap.

The SOSA specification for a soft white musk reader
Adaa for close and dry, Bahaar for soft and fresh
Attar Best for Why it works Price
SOSA Adaa Close and clean, with white musk in the base ₹379 for 3ml. Bergamot, green cardamom and neroli over jasmine sambac, magnolia and ylang ylang, on white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. No oudh ₹379
View →
SOSA Bahaar Soft musk under a fresh pear opening ₹599 for 10ml. Crisp orchard pear, freesia and soft musk. A perfume oil in 10ml, 50ml and 100ml, not an attar, and not a white musk ₹599
View →
Both rows start small: the 3ml of Adaa at ₹379, or the 10ml of Bahaar at ₹599. The larger sizes are for after a full season: ₹379 for 3ml, ₹669 for 6ml, ₹1,149 for 12ml for Adaa and ₹599 for 10ml, ₹1,899 for 50ml, ₹3,599 for 100ml for Bahaar. Neither is a white musk attar, because SOSA makes none; white musk is a base note in Adaa, Ameeri and Nawaab and never the subject. SOSA also makes no aldehydic, soapy scent and no clean-linen, cotton or laundry accord, so if your word was soap, nothing here is it. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin for the attars and nothing further; how long any fragrance lasts depends on skin, dose, clothing and the day. A patch test on first use is the only skin advice we give. I cannot tell you what you will think of either, and I will not pretend to. Ours is a contact page and a person who replies: Ask for an attar recommendation and tell us what you wear now.

A note from Sonal

I am wary of replacing a scent someone has loved for years. A fragrance you have worn that long is not just a smell, it is a small part of how a morning goes, and I would rather lose a sale than hand you something that spoils that. So I have described yours without naming it, because naming the house would put it beside something of mine in a way I cannot honestly support.

What I can do is be exact about what changes. Soft, soapy-clean, powdery-adjacent and very low-projecting are four properties, and I make something for roughly two of them. The soap and the powder are the part I do not have, and Adaa's published pyramid has no aldehydes, iris, heliotrope or violet to supply them. What it has is white musk, vetiver and cedarwood under a bright opening: the same format as your oil, and drier.

So the advice is small. One 3ml of Adaa, one dab on one wrist, your old oil on the other, and a judgment at hour three. If you miss the soap, you will know by lunch and I will not mind. If you find you prefer the dry version, you have saved yourself nothing and gained a second bottle. I cannot tell you what anyone else makes of either one, so the only measure is yours. A portion of every purchase supports Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Why will you not name the oil I wear?
Because SOSA has no composition built from it, and naming a house beside a SOSA bottle suggests an equivalence that does not exist. I describe the style instead: soft, soapy-clean, powdery-adjacent and very low-projecting. You know the one, and you do not need me to say its name to be told the truth.
Is Adaa the same kind of smell as a soft white musk oil?
It shares the white musk in the base and the close, skin-like finish, and it is drier. SOSA Adaa has no aldehydes, iris, heliotrope or violet in its published pyramid, so there is no soap and no powder. That is a different smell, not a lesser one, and the 3ml is how you find out which you prefer.
Is Bahaar a white musk?
No. SOSA Bahaar is a perfume oil of crisp orchard pear, freesia and soft musk. The musk is listed as soft, not white, and it sits under a pear opening. It lists a soft musk, which none of the four attars does, and it is the second answer here, not the first, because it is fruit-led.
Will Adaa last as long as the oil I wear now?
I cannot compare it with a bottle I have not tested. SOSA states 6–8 hours on skin for SOSA Adaa, and how long any fragrance lasts depends on skin, dose, clothing and the day. Wear it beside your old oil on the other wrist and you will have your own answer by evening.
What if I just want my old oil?
Then buy it, and I mean that. If soap-clean is the thing you love, nothing in the range will make you happier, and I would rather you wrote to us and heard that than spent on a 3ml out of loyalty to a brand. We will tell you straight which part, if any, is worth trying.
SOSA Nawaab
The attar to leave out of this search: Nawaab at ₹399 carries white musk in its base but is oud-led, with aged tobacco leaf, amber and leather. A fine attar, the deepest of the four, and nowhere near the style you describe.
