At this size the question changes shape. Nobody is asking any more whether a machine is warranted - they are asking how much of the building it is allowed to touch, and in an integrated centre that turns out to be surprisingly little.
Quick answers — read this first
How much of a 2,000 sq ft centre is actually scented? Usually between 500 and 700 sq ft. An integrated centre carries gynaecology consultation and examination rooms, a scan room, pelvic-floor physiotherapy cabins, nutrition rooms and back of house, and none of the clinical rooms is ever scented while none of the consultation rooms gets a unit of its own. What remains is the entrance, reception, waiting, the corridor and any genuinely non-clinical lounge. That is the job.
Does a bigger centre need a bigger machine? No - and this is where the ladder stops climbing. One SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 is rated to 1000m³. A 600 sq ft public zone at a 10 ft ceiling is about 170m³. You crossed into machine territory at 1,000 sq ft and nothing above that changes the hardware until you have a second, genuinely separate volume of air.
What about a double-height reception? It matters, because you scent volume and not floor area. The same 600 sq ft reception at an 18 ft ceiling holds nearly twice the air of one at 10 ft - roughly 305m³ against 170m³. Still comfortably inside a Vaayu's rating, but it is why the published figure of about 2,000-3,000 sq ft is a band rather than a number, and why the machine should be mounted high rather than stood on a counter.
The short answer
Short answer: with one machine, sized against the part of the centre that qualifies rather than the lease. One SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 on the public air path. Subtract the examination, scan, physiotherapy and consultation rooms and a 2,000 sq ft integrated centre usually has only 500 to 700 sq ft that may be scented at all. Total hardware spend ₹11,999, one unit.
The pick: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) mounted high on the public air path, running one profile at one level across entrance, reception, waiting and corridor, with every clinical and treatment room left completely alone.
Next step: send the floor plan with every room labelled by the service that runs in it, and we will return it with the ineligible rooms crossed out and the remaining square footage totalled - Ask for a clinic scenting plan.
The interesting number at this size is not the lease. It is what survives three passes over the floor plan, and in an integrated centre roughly two thirds of the plate does not.
The machine for the qualifying zone - tap for the specification
How should a 2,000 sq ft integrated women's health centre approach ambient scenting?
By working out what it is allowed to scent before working out what it can afford, because at this size those two questions have swapped places. Below 1,000 sq ft the constraint is capacity - can a machine fill the room. From 2,000 sq ft upward the constraint is eligibility - how much of the building may carry fragrance at all. So do the subtraction first. An integrated centre running gynaecology, nutrition, pelvic-floor physiotherapy and preventive health under one roof typically holds four or five consultation rooms, one or two examination rooms, a scan or diagnostic room, two or three physiotherapy cabins, a store, a staff room, a washroom and a corridor. Every clinical and treatment room is out entirely - examination, scan, procedure and recovery rooms, and every pelvic-floor cabin - because a patient in there is undressed, mid-treatment or waiting on a result, in a room she cannot leave, and she did not choose the fragrance. That reason is complete on its own and I never dress it up with anything else. Consultation rooms get a faint drift through the door and no unit of their own, at any service, and they are never stronger than the reception they open off. Take out the back of house too. What survives is the entrance, the desk, the waiting area, the corridor and any genuinely non-clinical lounge or retail nook - somewhere between 500 and 700 sq ft out of 2,000. That is the honest number, and it is usually about a third of what people expect. Now the hardware, which is briefer than the subtraction. One SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999, rated to 1000m³, mounted high on the public air path. A 600 sq ft public zone at a 10 ft ceiling is about 170m³, so the machine is running well inside itself. Total hardware spend: ₹11,999, one unit, for a 2,000 sq ft centre - the same figure as at 1,000 sq ft, because you crossed into machine territory there and nothing above it changes the answer until you have a second genuinely separate volume of air. There is one measurement worth taking properly, though, and it is the ceiling. You scent volume, not floor area. The same 600 sq ft reception under an 18 ft double-height ceiling holds roughly 305m³ rather than 170m³, and a double-height lobby eats capacity faster than any amount of extra floor. It is still well within a Vaayu, but it is the reason the published figure is a band of about 2,000-3,000 sq ft rather than a single number, and it is the reason the machine belongs mounted high and on the supply side of the air conditioning rather than standing on a counter where the profile never rises. What the ductwork and the static pressure will accept is your HVAC engineer's decision and I will hand that straight over. The rest is the standing policy that costs nothing and matters more in a multi-service centre than anywhere else: one profile at one level across every public area, since a centre that smells different outside physio than it does at the desk reads as three businesses rather than one; one seating area kept effectively unscented by design, with the front desk knowing exactly which chairs those are; staff able to switch the machine off in seconds without asking; and no argument at all if a patient asks for it off. This is an ambience decision with no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim of any kind, it works alongside your cleaning and ventilation rather than instead of them, and never covers or hides another smell, and your judgement as the treating clinician overrides any plan in your own rooms. Ask for a clinic scenting plan and label each room by the service that runs in it - I will cross out the ineligible ones and total what is left.
One Vaayu at ₹11,999, mounted high on the public air path. The centre is 2,000 sq ft but the eligible zone is 500 to 700, so the hardware is the same as at 1,000 sq ft. Physio cabins, scan and examination rooms get nothing at all.
One SOSA Vaayu serves the whole eligible zone - 1000m³ rated against roughly 170m³ of public air, waterless so nothing damp goes near physiotherapy or scan rooms, wall and HVAC mountable so a double-height lobby is reached from above. ₹11,999, one unit, and no second machine until there is a second volume of air.
One machine covers this, and the specification worth reading is the mounting and the volume rating rather than the square-foot band. The images link through to the full product pages.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft depending entirely on ceiling height. 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, app timers at 1h/4h/8h/24h, adjustable intensity, key-lock, auto-stop, under 38dB, 5W. Wall and HVAC mountable, which is how a double-height reception is served from above rather than from a counter. ₹11,999.
Ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser rated to 270-320 sq ft, three 15ml fragrances included, ₹1,899. This is where most centres start and it is honest up to about 750 sq ft. At 2,000 sq ft with a 600 sq ft public zone and a corridor to serve it has run out of both reach and mounting options.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft, ceiling height depending), 400ml tank running 90+ days a fill, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, adjustable intensity, under 38dB, 5W, auto-stop and key-lock, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, 165 x 80.5 x 215mm and 0.9kg. CE, RoHS and SGS certified - electrical and compliance marks, never medical approvals. Made in India.
Take a printed plan and a pen and do these in order. The third pass is the one that tells you what to buy.
1
First pass - cross out every clinical room
In an integrated centre this is more of the plate than anywhere else
Examination rooms, the scan or diagnostic room, procedure and recovery areas, and every pelvic-floor physiotherapy cabin, which is treated exactly as an examination room is. Any room where a patient is undressed, mid-treatment, holding a baby or waiting on a result is out, permanently and completely, and there is no reduced setting for any of them. The reason is environmental and consent-based: she is in a room she cannot leave and nobody asked her. In a single-service clinic this pass removes perhaps a fifth of the floor. In an integrated centre running four services it routinely removes a third or more, which is why the same subtraction produces a very different answer here.
Tip: Physiotherapy cabins catch people out. They are treatment rooms, not treatment-adjacent rooms.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Second pass - cross out the consultation rooms too
Four services means four temptations to give each one its own fragrance
Gynaecology, nutrition, physiotherapy and preventive health each have a consultation room, and in an integrated centre somebody always suggests that each should smell like its own service. It is the fastest way to make one business read as three. Every consultation room takes a faint drift from the corridor and no unit of its own, and none of them is ever stronger than the reception it opens off. One profile, one level, across the entire public zone. That is what makes a multi-service centre feel like a single practice rather than a corridor of tenants, and it is a decision you make once at the beginning.
Tip: If the nutrition room smells different from the gynaecology room, somebody has bought a bottle. Find it.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
Third pass - measure the height, not just the floor
You scent volume, and a double-height reception eats capacity fast
Total what remains, then multiply by the ceiling height rather than assuming ten feet. A 600 sq ft public zone at 10 ft is about 170m³. The same footprint under an 18 ft double-height lobby is roughly 305m³ - nearly double, from a decision the architect made about light. Both sit inside a Vaayu rated to 1000m³, so this does not change what you buy at 2,000 sq ft. It changes where you put it. In a tall volume the machine belongs mounted high or onto the air handling, because a unit at counter level is scenting the bottom two metres of a six-metre room.
One Vaayu ₹11,999, set once and left alone, is the whole hardware side of this.
At 2,000 sq ft the limiting factor is no longer what the machine can fill. It is what the building will permit, and in an integrated women's centre roughly two thirds of the floor plate is fragrance-free by rule.
Every plan I am sent at this size arrives with a budget attached to the lease area. The lease area has almost nothing to do with it.
One unit for four services: SOSA Vaayu, one profile at one level across every public area, so a multi-service centre reads as one practice. ₹11,999.
Rated in volume, which is the honest unit: 1000m³, which is why a double-height reception is a placement question rather than a capacity worry. ₹11,999.
People budget for scenting against the square footage on the lease. Two thirds of that square footage is rooms where a woman takes her clothes off, and not one of them will ever smell of anything I make.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA
Why one profile across four services
A centre that smells different outside physio reads as three businesses in a corridor
One machine covers this centre, and the honest work is the subtraction rather than the shopping. The specification moves again only when a facility has a genuinely separate second volume of air. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The SOSA women's-health specification
One unit for the eligible zone of an integrated centre
Size against the eligible zone rather than the lease, measure the ceiling as well as the floor, and hold the whole centre to one profile at one level. Keep every examination, scan, procedure and pelvic-floor physiotherapy room completely unscented, keep one seating area unscented by design with the front desk aware of it, and make sure staff can switch the machine off in seconds. Anything to do with ductwork, static pressure or filtration is your HVAC engineer's call. Fragrance here makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside your cleaning and ventilation and never instead of them, it never covers another smell, and your judgement as the treating clinician overrides any plan in your own rooms. Ask for a clinic scenting plan before you spend anything.

A note from Sonal
By 2,000 square feet the founders writing to me have usually stopped asking whether they need a machine. They have decided that, and they are now asking how many, and how big, and whether the budget should scale with the floor. It is the right instinct applied to the wrong quantity. What scales with the floor in an integrated women's centre is the number of rooms I am not allowed near.
So I do the subtraction with them, and it is always the same shock. Four consultation rooms gone. Two examination rooms and a scan room gone. Three physiotherapy cabins gone, and those catch people out most often, because a physio cabin feels like a wellness space rather than a clinical one right up until you remember what happens in it. Store, staff room, washroom, gone. Two thousand square feet arrives at five or six hundred, and the machine that covers five or six hundred is the same machine that covered a thousand-square-foot clinic last month.
Which is one Vaayu at ₹11,999, mounted high, on one level, running one profile everywhere the public goes. Measure your ceiling before you decide where it goes - a double-height reception holds nearly twice the air a normal one does. The tank runs 90+ days a fill and it arrives with four 100ml oils; confirm anything about further refills with us rather than assuming. The clinical and physiotherapy rooms get nothing at all, one seating area stays unscented on purpose, and a patient who asks for no fragrance gets it switched off with no discussion. Made in India, composed in Pune, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
How should a 2,000 sq ft integrated women's health centre approach ambient scenting?
By deciding what may be scented before deciding what to buy. Subtract the examination, scan, procedure and pelvic-floor physiotherapy rooms, and give the consultation rooms a drift rather than a unit, and a 2,000 sq ft centre usually has only 500 to 700 sq ft that qualifies. One SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999, mounted high on the public air path, covers that. Total hardware spend is Rs 11,999.
Does a bigger centre need a bigger or second machine?
Not on floor area alone. You cross into machine territory at around 1,000 sq ft and the specification does not move again until there is a second genuinely separate volume of air - a different floor, its own air-conditioning wing, or a suite behind a door that shuts. A 2,000 sq ft centre on one air path is one zone, and the correct answer is one unit at Rs 11,999.
How does ceiling height change the calculation?
It changes it a great deal, because you scent volume rather than floor area. A 600 sq ft public zone at a 10 ft ceiling holds about 170 cubic metres of air; the same footprint under an 18 ft double-height lobby holds roughly 305. Both sit inside the Vaayu's 1000 cubic metre rating, so it does not change what you buy at this size, but it does mean the machine belongs mounted high rather than standing on a counter.
Should each service in an integrated centre have its own fragrance?
No. One profile at one level across every public area. Giving gynaecology, nutrition and physiotherapy their own scents is the fastest way to make a single practice read as three separate tenants sharing a corridor. The consultation rooms take a faint drift from the public zone and never a unit of their own, and no room should smell stronger than the reception it opens off.
Are physiotherapy cabins treated as clinical rooms?
Yes, exactly as examination rooms are. A pelvic-floor physiotherapy cabin is a treatment room, and the patient inside it is undressed, mid-treatment and unable to leave, which is the whole of the argument and needs nothing added to it. Unscented means unscented rather than a lower setting. The same applies to scan, procedure and recovery areas anywhere in the centre.
Waterless, near physio and scan rooms: Cold-air nebulisation of undiluted oil - no tank, no humidity, nothing to refill for 90+ days at a time. ₹11,999.
Size against what qualifies, not against the lease
SOSA — Clinic Scentingfor integrated women's health and wellness centres
The SOSA Vaayu at ₹11,999 covers up to 1000m³ - far more than the 500 to 700 sq ft that qualifies in a 2,000 sq ft integrated centre - and mounts to a wall or the air handling so a tall lobby is served from above. Made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Send the plan labelled by service and we will do the subtraction.

Facts verified 5 September 2026 against the live SOSA product pages: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, described by the manufacturer as approximately 2,000-3,000 sq ft, with adjustable intensity, a 400ml refillable tank lasting 90+ days a fill depending on intensity and run hours, Bluetooth app and button control, 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, operation under 38dB at 5W, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, auto-stop and key-lock, and CE, RoHS and SGS certification, which are electrical and compliance marks and not medical approvals. Being waterless, it adds no moisture and leaves no residue on surfaces or equipment. The SOSA Sukoon (₹1,899) is an ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser covering roughly 270-320 sq ft and is supplied with three 15ml fragrances; the water-based Hotel Collection (₹299 / ₹999 / ₹1,799) is an ultrasonic fragrance and is not a refill for a waterless cold-air machine. SOSA reed diffusers are alcohol-free and phthalate-free, with 50ml lasting about 6-8 weeks and 130ml about 14-18 weeks. Cold-air refill oil for the Vaayu is not currently sold separately - the machine ships with 400ml included and further refills should be confirmed with SOSA. Warranty, annual maintenance, installation and bulk terms are not published and should be confirmed before ordering. Ambient scent is an interior and hospitality decision: it makes no clinical, therapeutic or wellbeing claim, it works alongside proper ventilation, cleaning and infection control and is never a substitute for any of them, it is never used to mask another smell, and no claim is made that fragrance influences a patient's decision or any commercial outcome. Clinical areas including procedure, post-procedure and photography rooms are left unscented, and the treating clinician's judgement overrides any scenting plan in their own room. The hotel-inspired scents are SOSA's own original interpretations; SOSA is an independent brand and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any hotel named for reference. Coverage, fragrance usage and running cost depend on the space, settings and hours of use, and are confirmed on a consultation.
