Founder Diaries · How Many Sukoons
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles6 min readUpdated August 2026
A villa is not one big room to be conquered by a single diffuser. It is a set of rooms and floors, each with its own air — so the honest answer is either one Sukoon per lived-in room, or a single waterless system that scents the whole house at once.
Quick answer
How many Sukoons? Plan for four or more — one Sukoon per room you actually use (foyer, living, dining, main bedrooms).
Want one signature everywhere? Step up to the waterless SOSA Vaayu, or the ducted SOSA Aangan for whole-home HVAC scenting.
Humid coastal villa? Prefer waterless for long daily runs — ultrasonic mist adds moisture you don't want.
The short version
Short answer: One Sukoon per lived-in room (usually 4+), or one waterless machine for the whole villa.
The pick: Sukoon ₹1,799 each for individual rooms;
Vaayu ₹11,999 or
Aangan ₹25,999 for whole-home.
The most common mistake I see in a big house is buying one diffuser, standing it in the entrance hall, and expecting the whole villa to smell of it. It never does. An ultrasonic diffuser scents the air of the room it stands in — the cool mist it throws out settles within that space and does not travel up a staircase or through a closed bedroom door. So the real question for a villa is not "which diffuser" but "how do I want to divide the house into zones."
There are two honest routes, and the right one depends on whether you want each room to have its own character or the whole home to carry a single signature.
Route one: one Sukoon per lived-in room
Count the rooms you actually spend time in — not every room in the plan. In a typical villa that is the foyer, the living room, the dining area and the two or three bedrooms you use. That lands most families at four or more Sukoons, each with its own Hotel Collection fragrance. The reward is a proper fragrance wardrobe: a fresh Westin-inspired note in the morning kitchen, a plush Ritz-Carlton-inspired warmth in the evening living room, something calm and clean in the bedroom.
The honest caveat is upkeep. Each Sukoon is water-based, so four or five of them means four or five little tanks to refill, and each one adds a little humidity to its room. In a dry Pune or Delhi winter that is welcome. Through a Mumbai or Chennai monsoon, running several tanks all evening feeds damp air you would rather not have — which is exactly where the second route earns its price.
The villa count ladder
How to scent a villa, by approach
| Approach |
System |
Why it fits |
| Individual scent per room |
Sukoon ×4+ · ₹1,799 each + Hotel Collection ₹299 |
Each room its own signature; lowest entry cost; run in sessions |
| One big open-plan floor / double-height living |
SOSA Vaayu · ₹11,999 |
Waterless, up to ~1000 m³, app-scheduled, no added humidity |
| Whole villa, one signature, hands-off |
SOSA Aangan · ₹25,999 |
Ducted into the AC; 8,000–10,000 sq ft; one unit, every room |
| Small nook, dressing corner, washroom |
Boond · ₹799 |
Compact 300ml top-up for a contained little zone |
Ultrasonic systems (Boond, Sukoon) run the water-based Hotel Collection; Vaayu and Aangan run a waterless nebulising oil. They are not interchangeable.
Route two: one waterless system for the whole home
For the large shared floors
SOSA Vaayu — one scheduled signature across an open floor, no humidity
View · ₹11,999
If what you want is a villa that greets you with the same quiet signature the moment you step in — hallway, living, landing, all of it — stop counting little diffusers. A single waterless machine does the job that four or five Sukoons cannot: continuous, even scent with no water and no damp. The SOSA Vaayu covers up to around 1000 m³ and schedules through its app, so the ground floor is scented before you wake and fades while you sleep. For a genuinely large villa — a double-height living room, three floors, 8,000 square feet and up — the ducted SOSA Aangan runs through the air-conditioning and scents every room from one unit.

In practice, most villa owners do not choose between the two routes — they combine them. A Sukoon in each bedroom lets that room stay personal, calm and scented to taste, run for thirty to sixty minutes in the evening. The large shared floors — where a single note reads as luxury rather than confusion — get one waterless system. It is the arrangement that gives you both a fragrance wardrobe and a consistent welcome, without asking anyone to refill five tanks.
Founder tip: run each Sukoon in sessions, not around the clock — thirty to sixty minutes crowns clean, aired air rather than saturating a room.
"In a villa, you are not scenting a house. You are scenting a collection of rooms — so count the rooms, not the square feet."

Frequently asked
How many ultrasonic diffusers does a villa need?
Plan for one
Sukoon per room you actually live in, which for most villas means four or more — typically the foyer, living room, dining and the main bedrooms. Because a villa spans large volumes and often multiple storeys, many owners instead step up to a single waterless system: the
SOSA Vaayu for a large open-plan floor, or the ducted
SOSA Aangan for whole-home coverage of 8,000 to 10,000 square feet.
Can a few ultrasonic diffusers scent a whole villa?
Not seamlessly. Each ultrasonic diffuser scents the air of the room it stands in; mist does not travel through doorways, staircases and closed rooms. You can place one per lived-in room, but staircases, lobbies and connecting corridors will remain gaps. For a continuous signature across a large villa, a waterless nebulising system like Vaayu or the ducted Aangan is the better tool.
Should a villa use ultrasonic or waterless diffusers?
For a few individual rooms, ultrasonic Sukoons are affordable and let each room carry its own scent. But ultrasonic diffusers add mild humidity and need refilling, which becomes tedious across many rooms and unwise in a humid coastal villa running scent for hours. For whole-home consistency, no added moisture and app scheduling, choose the waterless Vaayu or the HVAC-integrated Aangan.
How many diffusers for a two or three storey villa?
Treat each storey as its own zone. A common setup is two to three Sukoons per lived-in floor, so a two-storey villa lands around four to six diffusers. If refilling and moving tanks across floors feels like too much, one Aangan ducted into the air-conditioning scents every floor from a single unit.
Is one large diffuser better than many small ones for a villa?
For a large villa, one waterless machine usually wins on consistency and upkeep: a single signature everywhere, no humidity and one refill. Many Sukoons win when you want a different scent in each room and prefer a lower entry cost. Most villa owners end up combining the two — Sukoons in the private bedrooms, a Vaayu or Aangan for the large shared floors.
Pick your setup
Sukoons for the rooms, a waterless machine for the whole home.
Start with a Sukoon and a Hotel Collection fragrance in each bedroom, then let the waterless SOSA Vaayu or Aangan carry one signature across the large shared floors. That is the villa done properly.
