The short answer is two - one per lived-in room - because an ultrasonic diffuser scents the room it stands in and no further. A 2BHK is a two-diffuser home; the only question is whether the second unit is a Sukoon or a smaller Boond.
Quick answers — read this first
How many diffusers for a 2BHK? Two. One
Sukoon (₹1,799) for the living room and a second Sukoon or a
Boond (₹799) for the master bedroom is the standard, honest count.
When would I want three? If you use the second bedroom daily too - as a study, nursery or guest room - add a third unit, usually a
Boond, so every occupied room has its own scent.
Can I get away with one? Only if you genuinely live in a single room and keep the others closed. For a normal 2BHK, one diffuser leaves two rooms unscented - mist cannot cross a shut door.
The short answer
Short answer: A 2BHK needs two ultrasonic diffusers as a rule - a
Sukoon in the living room and a Sukoon or
Boond in the master bedroom - stepping up to three only if the second bedroom is also lived in daily.
The pick: the
SOSA Sukoon (₹1,799) ultrasonic diffuser plus a
Hotel Collection scent (from ₹299) is the hotel-at-home starter; a
Boond (₹799) suits a small room or desk, and for a large, open-plan or high-humidity space the waterless
Vaayu (₹11,999) adds no moisture.

Straight answer
How many ultrasonic diffusers does a 2BHK apartment need?
1. Count rooms, not square feet. An ultrasonic diffuser is a per-room device. List the rooms you actually occupy in the evening - usually two in a 2BHK.
2. Assign one diffuser per lived-in room. Living room plus master bedroom equals two units - a
Sukoon each, or a Sukoon and a
Boond.
3. Size the unit to the room. Sukoon (₹1,799) for rooms up to ~200-250 sq ft;
Boond (₹799) for a compact bedroom or study under ~100 sq ft.
4. Add a third only if used daily. A second bedroom that is a nursery or study earns its own diffuser; a rarely-opened guest room can take a cheap
reed instead.
5. Do not buy one big machine to force it. For an open-plan living-dining span, one
Vaayu (₹11,999) beats stacking Sukoons - but that is the exception, not the 2BHK norm.
Made in India; a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: two diffusers for a 2BHK - a
Sukoon (₹1,799) and a Sukoon or
Boond (₹799) - one per room you live in.
Why the number is decided by rooms, not size
1
PER ROOM
One diffuser scents one room
Sukoon · the diffuser₹1,799 An ultrasonic diffuser breaks water and fragrance into a cool mist that drifts a few feet and settles - it does not push through walls or around corners. So the honest unit of counting is the room, not the flat. A
Sukoon handles one enclosed room up to roughly 200-250 sq ft; beyond its own four walls, it does nothing. That is why a 2BHK's diffuser count equals its lived-in room count, almost always two.
Tip: If a door closes between two spaces, they need two devices.
2
THE TWO
Living room + master = two
Boond · small room₹799 In practice, evening life in a 2BHK happens in two rooms: the living room where you sit and host, and the master bedroom where you sleep. Scent those two and the flat already feels done. Run a
Sukoon in the living room for its size and visibility, and a second Sukoon or a
Boond in the master - two units, two scents, and a home that reads as coherent from the front door inward.
3
WHEN THREE
A used second bedroom earns one
Hotel Collection scentsFrom ₹299 The count rises to three only when the second bedroom is genuinely lived in - a home office you sit in all day, a child's room, a regularly-used guest room. Then it earns its own diffuser, usually a
Boond (₹799) kept on a light, fresh scent like
White Tea Serenity. A store-room or a bedroom you keep shut needs nothing, or a passive
reed as a quiet base.
Tip: Occupied daily = its own diffuser; mostly shut = a reed will do.
The hero of this guide SOSA Sukoon · 500ml Ultrasonic ₹1,799 A 500ml cool-mist ultrasonic diffuser with a 7-colour mood light and quiet, long runtime - the natural home for the Hotel Collection scents. Add a few drops to the water, choose continuous or intermittent mist, and one fill carries a room all evening. It gently humidifies too, which Indian air-conditioned rooms quietly love. Your diffuser count, by how the flat is used
Match the count to lived-in rooms - two is standard, three if both bedrooms are daily, one big Vaayu only if the living-dining is truly open-plan.

The hotel-at-home kit: one diffuser, seven scents, one small room option
The SOSA principle
Do not ask how many square feet your 2BHK is. Ask how many rooms you actually live in - that number is your diffuser count.
Rooms, not area. Every time.
Seven hotels, one diffuser Hotel Collection Fragrance From ₹299 Water-based, ultrasonic-safe scents, each SOSA's own interpretation of a famous hotel signature - Ritz-Carlton-style white tea & cedar, Westin-style spa white tea, St. Regis-style amber & violet, and more. Try any scent in a 15ml (₹299), size up to 100ml (₹999) or 300ml (₹1,799), or take all seven as the 15ml Pack of 7 (₹1,799). Shop the 7 scents →
Two diffusers for a 2BHK is not up-selling - it is arithmetic. One device per room with a door is simply how scent behaves.

Sizes & how to use: every scent comes as 15ml (₹299, to try), 100ml (₹999, the value bottle) or 300ml (₹1,799, best per-ml); the 15ml
Pack of 7 (₹1,799) is the whole wardrobe. Add just 3-6 drops to the Sukoon's water tank and adjust to taste - a little goes a long way - and rinse the tank when you switch scents so each stays true. These are water-based, ultrasonic-safe fragrances made for SOSA diffusers; do not substitute raw essential or carrier oils, which can clog the misting plate. The scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by (not affiliated with) the named hotels. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
When the room is big or open-plan SOSA Vaayu · Waterless Cold-Air ₹11,999 The Sukoon is perfect for a bedroom or a normal living room; for a large, open-plan or high-ceilinged space - or if you want zero added humidity in already-humid coastal air - step up to the waterless Vaayu (up to 1000m³, app + timers). For a whole home, the ducted Aangan (₹25,999) carries one signature through every room. Compare Sukoon vs Vaayu →

Frequently asked questions
Is two diffusers really necessary, or just marketing?
Genuinely necessary. Ultrasonic mist cannot cross a closed door, so one
Sukoon leaves the rest of a 2BHK unscented. Two units - one per lived-in room - is the honest minimum, not an up-sell.
Could I move one diffuser between rooms instead of buying two?
You can, and it works in a pinch - but a room takes 20-30 minutes to build up scent, so you are always a step behind. A diffuser per room is the real hotel effect; shuttling one is the budget compromise.
What size diffuser for each room?
Sukoon (₹1,799, up to ~200-250 sq ft) for the living room and master;
Boond (₹799, up to ~80-100 sq ft) for a compact bedroom, study or desk.
Do all my diffusers need different scents?
No. Keep it simple with one signature throughout, or use same-family scents per room. Two loud, unrelated scents clashing at the passage is the one thing to avoid.
When is even two not enough?
When a room is open-plan or double-height - an open living-dining span defeats ultrasonic throw. That volume wants a waterless
Vaayu (₹11,999), with Sukoons kept for the enclosed bedrooms.
Two is the number
A 2BHK is a two-diffuser home - here is why
One Sukoon per lived-in room, a second unit for the master. Start the pair and scale to three only if both bedrooms are daily.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA range; the technique applies to any brand's ultrasonic system.
Facts verified August 2026: An ultrasonic diffuser disperses a water-based fragrance as a cool micro-mist, scenting a room without heat or flame and adding a little humidity. Great hotels use commercial HVAC scenting to create a signature smell; at home the same effect comes from a diffuser plus a hotel-inspired blend. SOSA Sukoon is a 500ml ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser with a 7-colour mood light (₹1,799); Boond is a 300ml mini ultrasonic diffuser (₹799); both run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. The Hotel Collection comes in seven scents (Ritz-Carlton, Westin, 1 Hotels, St. Regis, Shangri-La, Four Seasons and W Hotels styles) in 15ml (₹299), 100ml (₹999) and 300ml (₹1,799), plus 15ml Pack of 7 (₹1,799); dose 3-6 drops per tank, use SOSA diffuser fragrance only (not raw essential/carrier oils), and rinse between scents. For large, open-plan or high-humidity spaces the waterless SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, up to 1000m³) adds no humidity; the Aangan (₹25,999) is a whole-home HVAC system. The scents are SOSA's own interpretations; SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel brand. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
