Large spaces are where multi-machine quotations go wrong, because the count stops being linear. Below 1000m³ you add machines. Above it you change machine, and one unit sized to the air will always read more evenly than three units competing inside the same volume.
Quick answers — read this first
How many scent machines should I buy for a large commercial space? Count cubic metres, then climb the ladder. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft at normal ceiling height, so two or three separate pockets of that size are two or three Vaayu. Once a single connected volume needs three, buy one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) instead, which covers 3,000m³ or roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft. At 12,000-18,000 sq ft or across several floors on one system, that is the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500).
Is it better to buy four small machines or one big one? One machine sized to the air, every time. Four units inside one connected volume produce four overlapping plumes and four different intensities, and they all need separate filling and scheduling. One SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) on the HVAC carries the same fragrance evenly across up to 3,000m³ using airflow the building already moves.
How do I convert my floor area into machine count? Multiply floor area by ceiling height in feet, divide the cubic feet by 35 for cubic metres, then divide by 1000 - that is your SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) count for connected air. A 9,000 sq ft hall at 12 ft is about 3,060m³, which is one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) rather than three Vaayu.
The short answer
Short answer: count in cubic metres and climb a ladder. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers 1000m³; three of them inside one connected volume is the signal to buy one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) at 3,000m³ instead; and 12,000-18,000 sq ft or multi-floor is the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500).
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) as the unit you count in, the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) once one connected volume passes about 1000m³, and the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) for 12,000-18,000 sq ft or several floors on one system.
Next step: send areas with ceiling heights and the HVAC zoning, and we will return a machine-by-zone count - book a free scenting plan.
The count is not linear. Below 1000m³ you add machines; above it you change machine, because one unit sized to the air is always more even than three units competing inside it.
How many scent machines should I buy for a large commercial space?
Do the arithmetic first, then climb the ladder. Floor area times ceiling height in feet, divided by 35, gives cubic metres. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) covers 1000m³, which the product page describes as about 2,000-3,000 sq ft at normal height. If your building is several separate pockets of that size - a wing here, a mezzanine there, each on its own air-conditioning - then the count really is one Vaayu per pocket, and two or three units is a sensible plan. What is not sensible is putting three or four small machines inside one connected volume. You get overlapping plumes, four intensities to balance, four tanks to fill and a space that smells strong near each unit and thin between them. So the rule we use is blunt: when one connected volume needs a third Vaayu, buy the bigger machine instead. That is the SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) - 3,000m³, roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft, with an 800ml reservoir, connected to your HVAC so the fragrance travels on airflow the building is already moving. A 9,000 sq ft hall at 12 ft works out at about 3,060m³, which is exactly that machine and not three of the smaller one. Beyond that - 12,000 to 18,000 sq ft, or several floors served by one system - the answer is the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500). Mixed buildings are common and perfectly fine: one large machine on the main volume, plus a Vaayu for the wing that is not on the same duct. Two honest notes: fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning and cannot cover fresh paint, adhesive or damp, and we make no claim that scent influences a purchase decision. Send the areas and heights and a free scenting plan will return the count zone by zone.
Cubic feet divided by 35, then divided by 1000, gives your Vaayu count for connected air. Three in one volume means buy an Angaan; 12,000-18,000 sq ft means a Meenar.
The SOSA Vaayu is the unit we count in - 1000m³, 400ml tank up to 75 days, under 38dB, app timers and a key-lock for public floors. Count your volume in Vaayu, and if a single connected space needs three of them, step up to the Angaan instead of multiplying.
Three machines cover every large commercial brief we see, and they are chosen by air volume rather than by budget. Each image links to the live product page so your projects team can check the specification before signing off.
Waterless cold-air nebuliser rated to 1000m³, about 2,000-3,000 sq ft. 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app with 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, key-lock for public spaces. Right for separate wings and outliers.
HVAC nebulising diffuser rated to 3,000m³, with an 800ml reservoir, metal body, programmable schedules and under 42dB running. The right answer the moment one volume would otherwise need three Vaayu.
Commercial HVAC scenting for very large or multi-floor spaces of 12,000-18,000 sq ft. Where a building is genuinely big, one machine on the central system beats a shelf of smaller units in every way that matters.
1000m³ coverage (about 2,000-3,000 sq ft), 400ml tank lasting up to 75 days, Bluetooth app and 1h/4h/8h/24h timers, under 38dB, freestanding or wall and HVAC mount, auto-stop and key-lock. DC 12V/1A, 5W. CE, RoHS and SGS certified. Made in India.
The ladder - when to add a machine and when to change machine
Three steps: convert the space into cubic metres, split it into connected volumes, then decide at each volume whether to add a machine or change machine.
1
Convert to cubic metres
Area times height, divided by 35
Large spaces are usually tall, and tall is where floor-area rules collapse. A 9,000 sq ft hall at 12 ft is 108,000 cubic feet, about 3,060m³. The same 9,000 sq ft under a 20 ft atrium roof is over 5,000m³ and a different conversation entirely. Do this for every space on the plan before anyone quotes you a machine count.
Tip: cubic feet divided by 35 is cubic metres; divided by 1000 is your Vaayu count.
The Vaayu covers 1000m³. It is the cleanest unit to count a building in, even when you end up buying something larger.
Separate air handling means a separate line on the list
Two halls on one AHU are one volume. A wing on its own splits is another. A basement level with its own system is a third. Write each connected volume on its own line with its cubic metres beside it, because the ladder is applied per line, not to the building total. This is also where mixed answers appear, and they are perfectly normal: one big machine on the main system plus one Vaayu for the outlier that is not on it.
The Angaan connects to the HVAC and carries scent on the building's own airflow across up to 3,000m³.
Three small units in one volume is the signal to step up
Inside a single connected volume, more machines do not add up neatly. They overlap near each unit and go thin between them, and every one of them needs its own filling and scheduling. So we cap it: two Vaayu in one volume is acceptable when the shape is awkward, three is the signal to buy one Angaan instead, and 12,000-18,000 sq ft or a multi-floor system is a Meenar. Across separate volumes, keep adding as many Vaayu as the list needs.
Tip: add across volumes, step up within one.
For 12,000-18,000 sq ft or several floors on one system, the Meenar is the honest end of the ladder.
The most expensive scenting quotation is always the one with the most machines on it. Even coverage comes from matching one machine to one body of air, not from surrounding the problem.
Add machines across volumes. Change machine within a volume.
The step-up most large spaces need: SOSA Angaan connects to your HVAC and covers up to 3,000m³ - about 8,000-10,000 sq ft - with an 800ml reservoir and programmable schedules, ₹25,999.
Four machines in one hall is not four times the coverage. It is four different rooms inside one room, and everybody can feel it even if nobody can name it.

Why one bigger machine wins
Even coverage, one fill routine, one schedule, one fragrance
Three machines, one ladder. The Vaayu is the unit we count in and the right answer for separate pockets; the Angaan takes one connected volume up to 3,000m³ on your HVAC; the Meenar is for 12,000-18,000 sq ft or several floors on one system. All waterless, all made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Above those two lines the ladder has one more rung: the SOSA Meenar (₹38,500) for 12,000-18,000 sq ft or several floors on one system. The rule that saves the most money is the simplest - add machines across separate volumes, change machine within a single one. One honest note: fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning, never instead of them, and it cannot cover fresh paint, adhesive or damp. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel, and we make no claim that scent influences a purchase decision. A free scenting plan will confirm the count from your drawings.

A note from Sonal
The largest quotations I see are almost always the wrong ones. Somebody has walked a big space, counted the corners, and priced a machine for each of them. What that buys is a building with four microclimates: strong near each unit, thin in between, and four different tanks running down at four different rates. It is more money for a worse result, and it is completely avoidable with ten minutes of arithmetic.
Here is the arithmetic. Area times ceiling height, divided by 35, gives cubic metres. One Vaayu covers 1000m³. Separate pockets of air each get their own. But inside one connected volume, once you would need a third unit, buy the bigger machine instead - an Angaan at 3,000m³ on the HVAC, or a Meenar where the building runs to 12,000-18,000 sq ft or several floors.
The honest part: no machine on this ladder fixes a smell that should not be there. Fresh paint, adhesive, damp, kitchen extract and drains need ventilation, cleaning and time, and fragrance layered over them gives you both at once. I also make no claim that scent influences what anyone buys. It makes a large space feel cared for, which is a real and modest thing. Everything is made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Frequently asked questions
How many scent machines does a large commercial space need?
Convert the space to cubic metres first: floor area times ceiling height in feet, divided by 35. One SOSA Vaayu at Rs 11,999 covers 1000 cubic metres of connected air. Separate pockets each get their own machine, but inside a single connected volume, once you would need a third unit, buy one SOSA Angaan at Rs 25,999 instead, which covers 3,000 cubic metres. For 12,000 to 18,000 sq ft or several floors on one system, that is the SOSA Meenar at Rs 38,500.
Is one large machine better than several small ones?
Inside one connected volume, yes. Several units overlap near each machine and go thin between them, and each one needs separate filling and scheduling. One machine sized to the volume, connected to the HVAC where possible, gives even coverage on airflow the building already moves. Across genuinely separate volumes, several machines is the correct answer.
Can I mix machine sizes in one building?
Yes, and it is common. A large hall on central air handling might take one Angaan while an office wing on its own splits takes a Vaayu. What should not vary is the fragrance: run the same scent in every machine on site so the building reads as one place.
How does ceiling height change the machine count?
Enormously. A 9,000 sq ft hall at 12 ft is about 3,060 cubic metres, which is one Angaan. The same footprint under a 20 ft atrium roof is over 5,000 cubic metres and a different specification. Always measure height before anyone quotes a count from floor area alone.
Will more machines make a large space smell stronger?
Not usefully. They make it smell uneven, because you get a plume around each unit rather than one settled level across the volume. Intensity is a setting, not a quantity, and a single correctly sized machine on a lower intensity almost always reads better than several small ones running hard.
Buy the count the air asks for: One SOSA Vaayu per 1000m³ of connected air, stepping up to a bigger machine rather than a third unit in one volume. ₹11,999.
