The count follows the layout, not the floor area. You need one source per connected zone that scent can't travel between — an open floor may need a single Vaayu, while a chopped-up showroom needs one per pocket, or a single ducted Aangan doing the work of them all.
Quick answers — read this first
How many do I actually need? One per connected zone. An open showroom to ~1000m³ = one Vaayu. Separate entrance, demo room and billing behind walls = a source in each, or one ducted Aangan.

When is one machine enough? When the air moves freely across the whole space and the volume is within a single unit's rating. Open-plan floors are the easy case — one well-placed Vaayu covers them.

When should I duct instead of multiplying? Once you'd need three or more units, ducting the Aangan through the HVAC is cleaner, cheaper to run and leaves no visible machines — up to ~3,000m³.
The short answer
Short answer: An electronics showroom needs one diffuser per connected zone scent can't cross — often a single Vaayu (₹11,999) for an open floor to ~1000m³, a unit per walled pocket for a broken-up store, or one ducted Aangan (₹25,999) covering everything to ~3,000m³.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) for showrooms - waterless, so it adds no humidity near your stock, with app scheduling that maps to trading hours. Small stores from ₹1,799; ducted showrooms from ₹25,999.

Straight answer
How many commercial diffusers does an electronics showroom need?
1. Map the zones, not the square feet. Walk the store and mark every space that air doesn't move freely into — a walled demo room, a billing area behind a partition, a separate first floor. Each is a candidate for its own source.

2. Check each zone's volume. A zone within a single machine's rating (the Vaayu to ~1000m³) needs one unit; a very large open zone might still need two placed apart.

3. Count the sources you'd need. Add them up. One or two units is usually the tidy answer for a mid-size store; three or more is your signal to consider ducting instead.

4. Compare against a single ducted system. The Aangan feeds every zone the HVAC serves from one hidden machine — often simpler than three or four standalone units to fill, monitor and match.

5. Keep one scent across all of them. However many sources you run, they must carry the same blend — multiple machines on different scents is how a store ends up smelling confused.

Count by zones: one Vaayu per connected space, or one ducted Aangan for the lot.

Why the number is about walls, not size

1
ZONES, NOT AREA
Scent stops at a wall
Vaayu - scheduled Vaayu · scheduled₹11,999 The instinct is to divide floor area by a machine's coverage and buy that many units. It's the wrong sum, because coverage assumes the air is connected. A partition, a closed demo room or a stairwell stops scent dead — so a 400m³ store split into four sealed rooms needs more sources than an open 800m³ floor. Count the pockets air can't cross, size each, and the number of machines falls out of that map rather than out of the total square footage.
Tip: Sketch the store and shade every space with its own door or partition — that's your source count.
2
THE OPEN CASE
One machine, placed well
Vaayu - scheduled Vaayu · scheduled₹11,999 Most single-floor electronics showrooms are refreshingly simple: an open selling floor where air circulates freely. Here a single Vaayu, placed centrally or near the entrance so scent greets customers and then follows them in, covers the whole volume to ~1000m³. You don't need one machine per aisle — you need one machine and good placement. Adding units to an already-covered open floor just over-scents it.
3
THE SPLIT CASE
A source per pocket — or duct it
Aangan - HVAC Aangan · HVAC₹25,999 A showroom with a walled listening room, a glass-partitioned premium cabin and a back billing area is really several small stores sharing an address. Each needs its own trace: a Boond in the billing corner, a Vaayu on the main floor, something gentle in the cabin. Once that list reaches three or four, a single ducted Aangan almost always becomes the neater, cheaper-to-run answer.
Tip: Three-plus standalone units is the moment to price a ducted system instead.

When one ducted system beats a fleet of diffusers

There's a tipping point every growing showroom reaches. Below it, one or two standalone machines are the obvious, cheap answer. Above it — roughly the moment you'd be filling, scheduling and scent-matching three or more separate units — the arithmetic flips. Each extra machine is another tank to top up, another timer to sync, another chance for one zone to drift out of step with the rest, and another visible object on a floor you'd rather keep clean.

A ducted Aangan replaces that fleet with one hidden system feeding scent through the HVAC to every zone the ducting reaches, up to ~3,000m³. One refill point, one schedule, one signature, and not a single machine visible on the customer floor. For a store that's grown into several zones, it's usually both tidier and cheaper to run than the pile of standalone units it replaces.

Worked examples by store type

Find the layout that matches yours — the count follows the zones, and ducting collapses many into one.

The three systems an electronics store actually needs
The SOSA principle
You don't count diffusers by the size of the store. You count them by the number of rooms scent can't reach on its own.
Get the zone map right and you'll never over-buy machines — or leave a demo room smelling of nothing.

One machine in the right place beats three in the wrong ones. The question was never how many — it was where the walls are.

The SOSA commercial edit

Whichever kind of electronics business you run, the system logic is the same: one signature, sized to the space, scheduled so it never depends on a staff member's memory, and waterless wherever it runs near stock. The Hotel Collection blends - SOSA's own interpretations of the world's finest hotel scents - run across the range, and everything is supported from Pune. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Honest notes for store owners: ambient scenting's effects on dwell time, perceived quality and recall are real but moderate - they compound a well-run store and rescue nothing; premises must be clean and well-ventilated first, because fragrance crowns good air and never substitutes for it. Ultrasonic systems (Boond, Sukoon) add a small amount of humidity and run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance; the Vaayu and the HVAC systems run waterless nebulising oil - near open equipment and in humid coastal cities, prefer waterless. The Hotel Collection scents are SOSA's own interpretations inspired by the world's finest hotels; SOSA is an independent Indian fragrance house, not affiliated with or endorsed by any hotel brand. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

Is one diffuser ever enough for a whole showroom?
Often, yes — if it's an open single-floor space within one machine's rating. A well-placed Vaayu covers an open floor to ~1000m³. You only need more when walls, floors or very large volume break the space into pockets air can't cross.
Should I put a diffuser in every room?
Every separated room that scent can't reach, yes — but match the machine to each room's job: a small Boond for a billing corner, a Vaayu for the main floor. Don't add units to an open space that's already covered; that just over-scents it.
At what point should I switch to a ducted system?
When you'd otherwise be running three or more standalone units. At that scale the Aangan through your HVAC is usually simpler and cheaper to run — one refill, one schedule, one signature, no visible machines. It covers up to ~3,000m³.
Can I mix a big and small diffuser in one store?
Absolutely — that's often the right answer for a split layout: a Vaayu on the floor and a Boond in a corner. The only rule is that every unit runs the same scent, so the store reads as one place, not several.
Do more diffusers mean a stronger smell?
Not the way you'd want — more units in a connected space just pushes the scent past pleasant into cloying. The goal is even coverage at a gentle level, which is a placement-and-scheduling problem, not a count problem. Size and site correctly, then run everything low.
Count by zones
One SOSA Vaayu for an open floor — or one ducted Aangan for the whole multi-zone store
Map the pockets scent can't cross, place a source in each, and keep one signature throughout. When the count climbs past three, duct it and hide the machines entirely.

About this guide: Written by Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained founder and perfumer at SOSA Home & Body. Product recommendations reflect the SOSA commercial range; the scent-marketing strategy advice applies to any brand's systems.

Facts verified August 2026: Ambient scent research consistently associates pleasant, congruent scenting with longer dwell time, improved venue evaluations and stronger brand recall at moderate effect sizes; congruence and gentle intensity outperform strong scenting in replicated studies, and no scent effect survives unclean or poorly ventilated premises. Olfactory memory is unusually durable, which is the mechanism behind signature retail scents. The principal risk to electronic equipment from diffusion is added moisture and residue rather than fragrance itself, which is the basis of this range's waterless recommendation. SOSA systems: Boond 300ml (₹799) and Sukoon 500ml (₹1,799) ultrasonic units run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance (from ₹299; refills 100ml ₹999); SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is a waterless cold-air nebulising machine, up to 1000m³, 400ml tank, Bluetooth app and 1/4/8/24h timers, under 38 dB; SOSA Aangan (₹25,999) is an HVAC nebulising system covering up to 3,000m³ (roughly 8,000-10,000 sq ft).
