Wanting more control is one of the few car fragrance instincts that maps cleanly onto a product decision, because the SOSA range happens to be split along exactly that line. One format runs continuously and is adjusted to a level. The other does nothing whatsoever until you press it and then stops again. They are the same price for the same scent, so this is not a budget decision dressed up as a preference - it is a straight question about how you want to use the car. What is worth setting aside first is the idea that a smaller cabin changes the dosing. SOSA publishes no cabin-volume figure, no coverage figure and no scent-throw figure for any car, so nothing here scales with the size of the vehicle. Control means when, not how much per cubic metre.
The decision behind almost every version of this question, and it is not about the car: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays - three months and more at one a day, fifty days at two. The 12ml hanging is the same price, published at 4 to 6 weeks, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. Nothing here changes with the powertrain.
Quick answers — read this first
Is a spray more controllable than a continuously present fragrance? Yes, in the specific sense that it exists only when you use it. A 10ml SOSA spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays, a fine-mist atomizer where one spray covers the cabin. On a journey where you would rather the car were plain, you do not press it and there is nothing to turn off.
Does the hanging offer any control at all? It does, and it is often understated. The 12ml hanging is published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. That is a level you set rather than a switch you flick - genuine control over strength, but not over whether it is happening today.
Does a compact car change the answer? No, or at least nothing published says so. SOSA publishes no cabin-volume, coverage or scent-throw figure for a hatchback or any other car, so there is no dosing table to consult. The useful variables are how long you are in the car, how often the doors open and whether the windows come down.
The short answer
Short answer: Control is a format question. The 12ml hanging runs continuously and is adjusted at its stopper, which is a level; the 10ml spray does nothing until pressed, which is a switch. Both are the same price for the same scent, so choose on use rather than cost. A SOSA 10ml spray is Rs 449 to Rs 549 and holds 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one a day.
The pick: A 10ml SOSA car perfume spray, ₹449 to ₹549 - 100 sprays, a fine mist where one press covers the cabin, and absolutely nothing on the journeys you leave it alone.
Why: A switch beats a level for somebody who wants some journeys scented and others not, and the two formats cost the same so nothing is given up.
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
I previously used a continuously present fragrance in my petrol car but now want greater control in my new compact car. Could a spray better suit the way I use the vehicle?
Probably yes, and the reason is mechanical rather than a matter of taste. The two SOSA formats sit on opposite sides of the exact thing you are asking about. The 12ml hanging is continuous - 4 to 6 weeks of diffusion per bottle in refillable glass, with a stopper you loosen for stronger or tighten for subtler. That is real control, but it is control over level. Whatever you set, it is happening on Tuesday whether you are in the car or not. The 10ml spray is the other kind. It is published at 100 sprays and it is a fine-mist atomizer where one spray covers the cabin, and on any journey you do not press it, there is nothing in the car but the car. That is control over whether, which is what most people mean when they say the word. The two cost the same for the same scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, and ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze - so you give up nothing financial by choosing the one that matches your habits. Two things to set aside. The car being compact does not change the dosing, because SOSA publishes no cabin-volume, coverage or scent-throw figure for any vehicle; there is no table that says a smaller car takes less. And the powertrain is not a variable here either - no petrol, diesel or electric product exists in the range and no claim is made that a fragrance behaves differently in one. What made your old setup feel uncontrollable was that it ran all the time, and that would have been just as true in any car you put it in. The third kind of control is the one people forget: rate. 100 sprays is 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day, so the bottle keeps an honest record of how controlled your habit actually is. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The hanging controls how strong. The spray controls whether. Same price, so pick the one you meant.
Two kinds of control, one price. The 10ml spray at ₹449 to ₹549 is 100 sprays and can simply be absent on a journey. The 12ml hanging is the same price, runs 4 to 6 weeks and is turned up or down at the stopper - a level rather than a switch. The 50ml at ₹1,499 is 500 sprays, for a rate you have already settled.
Three kinds of control, and which format gives you which
The word control does at least three different jobs in this question, and the formats answer them differently. Separate them and the choice takes about a minute.
01
Control over whether
The spray is the only format in the range that can be off
This is the one most people mean. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays and produces nothing until you press it, so a journey with a colleague, a car you have just cleaned, or a morning you simply want the windows down and nothing else, all cost you exactly nothing. It is a fine-mist atomizer and one spray covers the cabin, which is published, so a single press is the normal unit rather than a cautious half-measure. Nothing else in the range can be switched off without physically taking it out of the car, which is why this is the format the question is really pointing at.
Tip: Only one of the two can be absent on a Tuesday and present on a Wednesday.
02
Control over how strong
The hanging's stopper is a setting, and a better one than it gets credit for
It would be unfair to present the hanging as the uncontrollable option. Its stopper loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler - that is published, and it means a hanging that felt overpowering in a previous car was very likely a hanging nobody had turned down. It runs 4 to 6 weeks per 12ml bottle in refillable glass, and the refills are 15ml at ₹399 to ₹449. If what you wanted from your old arrangement was the same thing but quieter, the honest recommendation is a tightened stopper rather than a different format. If what you wanted was silence on some journeys, no amount of tightening delivers that.
03
Control over how often
Rate is the kind of control the bottle measures for you
The third kind is yours rather than the product's, and it is the one that decides whether the arrangement still feels controlled a season from now. 100 sprays in a 10ml - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A person who presses it once as they get in has a season's worth. A person who presses it whenever they think of it does not, and the bottle will say so long before their nose does. The 50ml is 500 sprays and published at about a year and more, at ₹1,499, which is the right purchase once the rate is stable and a poor one while it is still being formed. There is no spray refill, so a 50ml is a commitment rather than a top-up.
Tip: A format gives you control. A rate is whether you use it.
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
Work out which kind of control you actually wanted
Decide whether you wanted it quieter, or wanted it absent on some journeys.
Quieter is the hanging with the stopper tightened, at the same price as the spray.
Absent on some journeys is the spray, and only the spray. 100 sprays in a 10ml.
Then set a rate: one a day is 3 months and above; two a day is 50 days.
The SOSA principle
A continuous fragrance was never too strong for a compact car. It was simply always on, and always on is the one setting a spray does not have.
Which is the entire case for switching format, and it costs nothing because both formats carry the same price.
Choosing a scent when the point is that it is not always there
A spray you use deliberately can carry a bit more character than something running all week, because you are choosing the moment. The deep end rewards that: Oud at ₹509, published as the deepest of the nine, Vetiver at ₹509 and Sandalwood at ₹479. If you want the cabin sharp rather than deep, Icy Mint at ₹489, Lemon at ₹499 and Sea Breeze at ₹509 do that. The soft end - Jasmine at ₹449 and Lavender at ₹479 - suits somebody who is dialling down from something that felt like too much. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only, which makes it a natural fit for this particular reader.
The SOSA gift edit
Four levels of control, and what each one costs you
The option
Who it suits, and where it fails
A 10ml spray, ₹449 to ₹549
Control over whether: 100 sprays, one press covers the cabin, and nothing at all on the journeys you skip. It fails if you want the car to smell of something when you open it without having done anything first.
A 12ml hanging with the stopper tightened
Control over how strong, at the same price: 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion, turned down to a level you choose. It fails on the one thing you asked for, because tightening is not the same as off.
Both - a hanging turned low, a spray for occasions
The arrangement the product pages themselves describe, and genuinely the most flexible. It fails on simplicity and on price: two purchases rather than one, for a car that may not need both.
A waterless car diffuser, at ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired variants. It fails this brief on cost and on complexity - you asked for less machinery in the decision, not more, and a spray is the smaller answer.
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
Two details that matter to somebody deliberately reducing how much fragrance is in their car. One spray covers the cabin, published, so the correct dose is one press rather than several - a second press is a decision, not a correction. And the format you leave behind is not wasted: the hanging is refillable glass with 15ml refills at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents, while there is no spray refill at all. The whole range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated and tested for 45 degrees C and 85 per cent relative humidity.
₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 sprays. Fragrance you decide to have, journey by journey - which is the format that suits a car occupied an hour or two a day.
The same price as the spray, published at 4 to 6 weeks in a refillable glass bottle. The stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler - which is the only strength control SOSA publishes.
Three sprays from ₹699, or all nine at ₹2,999. Nine published combinations and those nine are the whole range - you pick from them, you do not assemble one.
from ₹699
The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.
Tell SOSA how many hours a day somebody is actually sitting in the car, where it is parked and for how long, whether the windows are usually open or shut, and who else drives it - and you will be told which format and how much, including the times the honest answer is the hanging at the same price because you would rather not think about it.
Control over strength and control over whether are different products, and the range gives you both at the same price. Choose the one you meant.

The SOSA gifting range
Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.
The SOSA range, sorted by how much it asks of the person receiving it
Start from what the gift demands, not from what it costs
₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin
The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler
₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out
₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs
₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you
₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder
from ₹3,999
The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The honest spec sheet
What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
The published quantities - a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, stated as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more, at ₹1,499. A spray combo is 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating. These are the only usage figures SOSA gives.
The hanging - 4 to 6 weeks (28 to 42 days) of continuous diffusion per 12ml bottle, in refillable glass, and the stopper adjusts the strength: loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler.
Combos and the Discovery Set - four published pairs at ₹899 and ₹949, as a spray combo (2 x 10ml) or a hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. The Discovery Set is ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays and ₹2,999 for all nine. Those nine combinations are the entire set range and none is composed to order.
Refills - 15ml hanging refills at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill.
The formulation - alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India.

A note from Sonal
We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.
What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.
So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.
And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.
Frequently asked questions
Is a spray more controllable than a hanging?
In one specific sense, yes: a 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays and produces nothing until you press it, so it can simply be absent on a given journey. The hanging offers control of a different kind, since its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler, but it runs continuously for 4 to 6 weeks whether you are in the car or not.
Does a smaller cabin need less fragrance?
Nothing published says so. SOSA publishes no cabin-volume figure, no coverage figure and no scent-throw figure for any vehicle, so there is no dosing rule by car size. What is published is that the spray is a fine-mist atomizer and one spray covers the cabin, which is the only dosing guidance the range gives.
Does a petrol car and an electric car call for different fragrance strengths?
No. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and makes no claim that a fragrance behaves differently according to what moves the car. If your previous arrangement felt too strong, that was the format running continuously rather than anything about the vehicle, and it would have felt the same in any car.
If I switch to a spray, how long will a bottle last?
That depends on your own rate, and the published working makes it arithmetic rather than guesswork. A 10ml holds 100 sprays: 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day. The 50ml holds 500 sprays and is published at about a year and more, for Rs 1,499.
Can I use both formats at once?
Yes, and the product pages describe that combination themselves. A hanging with its stopper tightened gives the cabin a quiet standing level, and a spray lets you add to it on particular journeys. It is two purchases rather than one, so it is worth being honest about whether a car you drive alone needs that much control.

What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
