How SOSA works
Four attars, three sizes, one fixed set - and an honest account of what each one is for
The trio is fixed
Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani. Adaa is not in it - that one is bought separately.
Alcohol-free by formulation
The attars are alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist. The inspired line is an alcohol-based spray - a different thing, and we say so.
Made in India
Hand-blended in small batches. Cruelty-free and vegan.
Composed by a trained perfumer
Sonal Sahani, ISIPCA Versailles-trained, composes the whole range.
A portion funds girl-child education
Part of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Four attars in two registers is a house point of view, not a discovery kit. Where that is the wrong answer, these guides say so.

Founder Diaries · Attar Gifting

The phrase doing all the work in your question is starting point, and it is a better phrase than most gift guides deserve. A starting point implies a route, and a route implies she can walk back down it. That, not the note list, is the real test here. Can she wear the new thing on a Tuesday and go back to her own bottle on Wednesday without either evening feeling like a verdict on the other? Buy for that and the gift works whatever is inside it. Buy for novelty and you have handed her a decision she never asked to make.
Quick answers — read this first
Can a fragrance set introduce musk and woods to somebody who only wears florals? Only partly, and the limit is worth stating before you order. SOSA makes four attars and not one of them is a standalone musk or a dry woods scent. White musk sits inside Adaa as a supporting material, and sandalwood sits under the rose in Ameeri and Nawaab. What the ₹1,055 three-attar set genuinely offers a floral wearer is her own register carrying more weight underneath - rose and night jasmine over sandalwood, saffron and oudh.

What is actually in the SOSA three-attar set? Ameeri (Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron, soft oudh), Nawaab (white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron) and Mastani (night-blooming jasmine, damask rose, oudh). It is a fixed pairing and nothing can be swapped. The bergamot and green cardamom one, Adaa, is not in it and is bought on its own at ₹379.

How do you give a fragrance without asking somebody to give up their signature? Buy small and buy adjacent. Three 3ML bottles are small enough that wearing one is not a commitment, and a register she already leans into is one she can step into and back out of inside a week. A large bottle of something unfamiliar fails both tests at once, which is why it so often ends up unopened.
The short answer
Short answer: A starting point is only a starting point if she can walk back down it, so buy small and adjacent rather than large and new - and do not promise musk and woods, because neither exists here as a scent in its own right.
The pick: the three-attar set at ₹1,055 - Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, two of them rose-led, and all three small enough that trying one costs her nothing she cannot undo.
Honest note: the set is fixed and all three scents sit in one register, so it is depth rather than contrast. Adaa, the one bright scent, is not in it.
The trio, and the alternative - at a glanceThe trio is one register: rose, oud, sandalwood. Three eveningsFixed set ₹1,055 · Ameeri, Nawaab, Mastani · Adaa not includedWant contrast? Three chosen 3ML from ₹1,153 - three boxesAlcohol-free oil · worn at the wrist
SOSA's three-attar set is a fixed pairing of Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani at Rs 1,055 for three 3ML bottles. All three sit in the same register - rose, oud, sandalwood and heavy florals, built for evenings. If what you want is contrast rather than depth, the route is three 3ML singles chosen yourself, from Rs 1,153, which is the only way to include Adaa, the one bright scent in the range. Those arrive as three boxes rather than one gift set.
Straight answer
Can a fragrance gift extend a floral signature instead of competing with it?
Yes, and the mechanism is smaller than people expect. It is size, not novelty.

The correction first, because your question contains an assumption. There is no standalone musk attar in this range and no dry woods attar either. Four scents exist. White musk appears inside Adaa as one material among four; sandalwood sits underneath the rose in Ameeri and under the oud in Nawaab. Nobody here has made a bottle whose subject is musk, and nobody has made a bottle whose subject is dry cedar or vetiver. If that is what you had pictured, better to know now.

What does exist is her own direction with the floor lowered. The three-attar set is ₹1,055 for three 3ML bottles. Ameeri is Taif rose with Indian sandalwood and Persian saffron. Mastani is night-blooming jasmine over damask rose and oudh. Nawaab is white royal oud with Mysore sandalwood and Kashmir saffron, and it is the far end. Two of the three lead with a flower she already recognises. What changes across them is not the flower but how much weight is standing under it.

Why the small size is the whole argument. A 3ML bottle is a week of evenings. She can try Ameeri on Tuesday, decide she prefers her own perfume, and go back on Wednesday, and nothing about that is awkward for either of you. A 50ML of an unfamiliar scent cannot be put down that easily - it sits on the shelf asking to be justified. An introduction that cannot be reversed is not an introduction.

If she wears something bright rather than floral. Then this is the wrong set and I would rather say so on the page than let you find out at the table. Adaa at ₹379 is the one bright scent in the range, and it is bought separately. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
One line: a starting point has to be walkable in both directions, so buy the smallest sizes in the register she already lives in - and do not promise musk or woods, because neither exists here as a scent of its own.
The three-attar set is ₹1,055 for three 3ML bottles, ₹1,859 at 6ML. It is a fixed pairing - Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani - and all three sit in the same register, so it is depth rather than contrast. Worth knowing before you order: Adaa is not in it.
from ₹1,055

Why a starting point is a promise about what happens next

Three things decide whether this lands, and the note list is only one of them.

1
Reversibility
A gift she can put back down
This is the variable nobody prices in. A fragrance gift she cannot abandon without a small social cost is a fragrance gift she will wear dutifully and rarely. Three 3ML bottles carry almost no such cost: each one is a handful of wearings, and none of them announces itself as a replacement for anything. The set at ₹1,055 buys three reversible experiments rather than one irreversible statement, and for somebody with a settled signature that is the more generous shape even though it is the cheaper one.
Tip: If she cannot go back on Wednesday, it was never an introduction. It was a replacement.
2
The honest correction
There is no musk attar and no woods attar here
Four scents, and I will not describe them as more than they are. Adaa contains white musk, but it reads as bergamot and green cardamom over jasmine sambac - it is a bright composition, not a musk. Nawaab contains Mysore sandalwood, but the subject is white royal oud. If what you actually wanted was a clean skin musk or a dry cedar, those are real categories and this house does not make them. That is a limit of a four-scent range composed by one perfumer, and planning around it beats being sold around it.
3
Continuity
Keep the flower, change what stands under it
This is the move that makes a gift feel like an extension rather than an argument. Her perfume is a flower on some sort of floor - usually a light musk or a clean woody base. Ameeri keeps a rose in front and puts sandalwood, saffron and a soft oudh underneath. Mastani keeps jasmine and rose in front and puts more oudh underneath. Same conversation, lower voice. Start her at Ameeri rather than Nawaab, because white royal oud is the most concentrated statement in the range and it is a poor first sentence.
Tip: Change the floor. Leave the flowers where they are.
The SOSA principle
A starting point is only a starting point if she can walk back down it.
Which makes size the variable that decides this gift, not novelty. Three 3ML bottles are reversible. One large bottle of something unfamiliar is a standing obligation on a shelf, and obligations do not get worn.

Floral into depth, three ways - and what that is not

Work outward from her signature, and be honest with yourself about how far this particular range can carry her.

The SOSA attar edit
What to buy for a floral wearer, by how far you want to go
Option Who it suits, and what it costs
One step, with the flower still in front Ameeri alone, ₹385 at 3ML or ₹679 at 6ML. Taif rose with sandalwood and saffron under it. The gentlest move outward in the range.
Three degrees of the same move The three-attar set, ₹1,055. Same idea at three different weights, from Ameeri through Mastani to Nawaab.
You genuinely wanted a musk or a dry woods scent Neither exists here. Four attars in two registers is one perfumer's point of view, and saying so is more use to you than a substitute would be.
She also wants something bright for daytime Adaa at ₹379, bought on its own. Bergamot and green cardamom, and it is never included in the fixed set.

If the move you are really contemplating is the same one for a different relationship, Floral towards musk and woods runs the argument with a mother rather than a partner. If you want the wider version - how to grow a floral wardrobe without any of it feeling foreign - The floral guide is the guide. The set and the four attars are where both of them land.

Tell us what they already wear
Send us the bottle they have worn for years, or just how they describe it - bright, heavy, sweet, clean. If the fixed set is the wrong register for that person, we will say so and tell you which three to pick instead.

The SOSA attar edit

Every SOSA attar is alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist, hand-blended in small batches in India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali. Here is the edit by what you actually know about the person's taste, which is what decides whether a fixed set or three chosen bottles is the right answer.

The SOSA attar edit
Five answers by what you actually know about their taste - from ₹1,055 to ₹1,859
Option Best for What it is, honestly From
The three-attar set, 3ML x 3 They already wear rose, oud or big florals Ameeri, Nawaab, Mastani - one register, three evenings. Fixed: Adaa is not in it ₹1,055
Three chosen 3ML singles You want contrast, not depth Any three of the four, chosen by you. The only route that includes Adaa. Three boxes, not one set ₹1,153
One 12ML of a scent you are sure of You know exactly what they wear A size they finish rather than sample, when guessing is not required ₹1,149
The three-attar set, 6ML x 3 The same three, in a size that lasts Where the trio is right and 3ML would run out too quickly ₹1,859
Solid perfume tin 15g When a roll-on is not right Solid balm in a metal tin - nothing to spill, nothing to leak in a bag ₹500

Four honest notes. The three-attar set is fixed - Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani, in one size tier at a time. Adaa, the bergamot and cardamom one, is not in it, so if the brighter style is what the person wears, that means buying Adaa separately. All three trio scents sit in the same register - rose, oud, sandalwood and heavy florals - so the set is depth rather than contrast; if contrast is the point, choose three 3ML singles yourself and know that they arrive as three boxes rather than one gift set, because there is no build-your-own set on the store. SOSA's attars are alcohol-free oil worn at the wrist; the designer-inspired line is an alcohol-based spray and a different product entirely, and SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any fragrance house it names. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

A note from Sonal

The hardest fragrance gift is not the one where you know nothing. It is the one where you know just enough. You can name the bottle they have worn for six years. You also know that buying it again is not a gift, it is a refill - and that buying something wildly different is a coin toss with your money on it.

So people reach for a set, and most fragrance sets quietly mislead. They are sold as exploration when they are really one house's single idea, broken into three bottles. I would rather tell you what ours actually is. Ameeri, Nawaab and Mastani are three evenings, not three directions. Rose, oud, sandalwood, saffron, night jasmine. If the person you are buying for already lives in that register, the set is genuinely good and the discount is real. If they wear something bright and fresh, it is the wrong set, and no amount of my writing changes that.

The answer in that case is not a different set. It is three bottles you pick yourself - and yes, that costs about a hundred rupees more than the fixed three, and yes, they arrive in three boxes rather than one. I would rather you knew both of those things before you ordered than after. Adaa is the only bright one we make, and it is not in the set. A portion of every order supports girl-child education.

Frequently asked questions

Can the three-attar set introduce a floral wearer to musk and woods?
Not literally, and it is better to hear that plainly. SOSA makes four attars and none of them is a musk or a dry woods scent on its own. White musk is one material inside Adaa, and sandalwood is a supporting note in Ameeri and Nawaab. What the set does give a floral wearer is her own register with considerably more weight underneath the flowers, which is a real move but a different one from the one the question imagines.
Will she think I am telling her to stop wearing her perfume?
Only if the gift is big enough to need justifying. Three 3ML bottles are a week of evenings each - small enough that wearing one and then going back to her own bottle is simply what happened that week, not a decision she made about your present. Size does most of the diplomatic work here, and it costs less rather than more.
Which of the three should she try first?
Ameeri. Taif rose with Indian sandalwood and Persian saffron keeps a flower in the front of the composition, so nothing about it is a foreign object to somebody who wears florals. Nawaab, the white royal oud, is the far end of the range and makes a poor first impression precisely because it is the most concentrated thing in it.
Is Rs 1,055 too little to spend on somebody who wears expensive perfume?
The amount is not what makes this work or fail. She can buy her own bottle and already has. What she cannot buy for herself is a small, low-stakes way to find out whether she likes more weight under her flowers, which is what three 3ML bottles are. If you want the same three in a size that lasts longer, the 6ML tier is Rs 1,859.
What if she turns out not to like any of the three?
Then you have spent Rs 1,055 finding that out, she has lost nothing, and you now know something specific about her taste that you did not know before - that weight underneath is not what she is missing. That is a considerably better outcome than one large unfamiliar bottle producing the same verdict at four times the price.

SOSA does not sort fragrance by the gender of the wearer - every scent is recommended here on what a person has said they like.

SOSA attars, specified: alcohol-free concentrated fragrance oil in a roll-on bottle, applied at the wrist rather than sprayed. Four scents: Adaa (bergamot, green cardamom, jasmine sambac, white musk - the one bright scent in the range), Ameeri (Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron, soft oudh), Mastani (night-blooming jasmine, damask rose, oudh) and Nawaab (white royal oud, Mysore sandalwood, Kashmir saffron). Ameeri, Mastani and Nawaab share oudh, sandalwood and rose materials and sit in one register; Adaa is the outlier.
