At 3,000 sq ft the machine question is already answered, so this page is about the part that actually decides whether the install works: where the unit is mounted, what intensity it holds, when the timer starts, and how often somebody has to touch it.
Quick answers — read this first
What is the best scent machine setup for a 3,000 sq ft car showroom? One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999), mounted to the supply duct if the showroom has ducted air-conditioning, or wall mounted at two to two and a half metres beside the return-air grille if it does not. Run it at a medium intensity on the 8-hour timer, starting 45 minutes before opening, with the key-lock engaged. A 3,000 sq ft floor at a 10 ft ceiling holds about 850m³, inside the machine's 1000m³ rating.

Should a showroom diffuser be HVAC-mounted or freestanding? HVAC-mounted wherever there is ducted air-conditioning, because the building's own airflow does the distribution and the far corner smells the same as the entrance. The SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) supports all three: HVAC mount, wall mount and freestanding. Freestanding is the fallback for a showroom on cassette or split units, and it should sit in the entrance airflow rather than in a still corner.

What intensity and timer should a car showroom diffuser run on? A steady medium intensity across trading hours beats hard bursts. Use the SOSA Vaayu app (₹11,999) to set an 8-hour schedule that starts 30 to 45 minutes before opening and stops at closing. On that pattern a 400ml tank runs up to about 75 days, and the fragrance reads as the smell of the building rather than something that was just switched on.
The short answer
Short answer: one SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) mounted to the supply duct where there is ducted air-conditioning, or wall mounted at two to two and a half metres beside the return, running a medium intensity on an 8-hour timer that starts 45 minutes before opening. A 3,000 sq ft floor at a normal ceiling holds about 850m³ against the machine's 1000m³ rating.
The pick: the SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) with HVAC mounting as first choice and wall mounting as second. The SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) only becomes relevant if the ceiling is 16 ft or higher, which pushes the volume past 1,000m³.
Next step: tell us whether your showroom is ducted or on split units and we will specify the mounting - book a free coverage plan.
The working setup for a 3,000 sq ft car showroom - mounting, intensity, scheduleBest: HVAC-mounted to the supply duct - the building distributes itGood: wall-mounted at 2 to 2.5m beside the return-air grilleWorkable: freestanding near the entrance airflow, key-lock onIntensity medium, 8h timer, starting 45 minutes before opening3,000 sq ft above 14 ft = over 1,000m³ - second Vaayu or Angaan
At 3,000 sq ft one Vaayu is the machine in almost every case. The quality of the result comes from where it is mounted and how it is scheduled, not from buying more capacity.

Straight answer
What is the best scent machine setup for a 3,000 sq ft car showroom?
Start with the volume so the setup is grounded: 3,000 sq ft is about 279m², which is roughly 850m³ at a 10 ft ceiling and about 1,020m³ at 12 ft. One SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999) is rated to 1000m³ and the product page describes it as about 2,000 to 3,000 sq ft, so a standard-height 3,000 sq ft floor sits right at the top of one machine's honest range. Now the setup, in order of preference. First choice: HVAC mount. If the showroom has ducted air-conditioning, mount the Vaayu to the supply duct and let the building distribute the fragrance - the far corner then smells the same as the entrance and placement stops being a debate. Second choice: wall mount at two to two and a half metres, beside the return-air grille or in the entrance airflow, out of reach and lockable. Third choice: freestanding, which is the fallback for a showroom on cassette or split units; put it near the entrance where air actually moves, not on a back shelf. Then the settings: hold a medium intensity across the day rather than firing bursts, set the app to an 8-hour schedule beginning 30 to 45 minutes before opening, and engage the key-lock so nobody adjusts it mid-week. On that pattern the 400ml tank lasts up to about 75 days, so a showroom manager touches the machine roughly once a quarter. It runs under 38dB and is waterless, so there is no damp and nothing settles on paintwork. The height caveat is real: above about 14 ft the volume passes 1,000m³ and you need a second Vaayu or, if it is one big connected volume on central air, one SOSA Angaan (₹25,999) instead. A free coverage plan will specify the mounting from your drawings.
HVAC mount if you can, wall mount at 2 to 2.5m if you cannot. Medium intensity, 8-hour timer starting 45 minutes before opening, key-lock on.
The setup machine is the SOSA Vaayu - it mounts three ways (HVAC, wall or freestanding), holds 1000m³ against your roughly 850m³, offers 1h/4h/8h/24h timers with adjustable intensity, runs under 38dB and locks so a public floor cannot retune it.

The three setup decisions that make or break a 3,000 sq ft install

Three setup decisions do all the work: how it is mounted, how hard and how long it runs, and how often somebody has to open it. Get those right and a 3,000 sq ft floor needs no more hardware.

1
Mounting, in order of preference
HVAC first, wall second, freestanding third
If the showroom has ducted air-conditioning, mount the machine to the supply duct. The ducting is a distribution network you have already paid for, and using it removes every argument about placement. If the floor runs on cassettes or wall splits, there is no duct to use, so wall mount at two to two and a half metres beside the return-air grille or in the entrance airflow. Freestanding is the third option and it works, but only if you put the unit where air genuinely moves. A machine on a display plinth in dead air will scent a few metres and no more.
Tip: if you have ducting, use it. It converts a placement problem into an install detail.
SOSA Vaayu
The Vaayu mounts freestanding, on a wall or to HVAC, so the same unit fits whichever way your showroom is cooled.

2
Intensity and schedule
Steady medium across trading hours, not bursts
The instinct is to run hard for a short window before customers arrive. It is the wrong setting. A burst reads as an event, and it fades unevenly across a 3,000 sq ft floor. A steady medium intensity across the trading day reads as the smell of the building. Use the 8-hour timer, start it 30 to 45 minutes before the doors open so the fragrance has settled, and stop it at closing rather than letting it run into an empty showroom overnight. On weekends, when footfall and door-opening are heaviest, one step up is usually enough.
SOSA Angaan
On a very large connected floor the same logic runs through the Angaan, which holds programmable schedules across up to 3,000m³ of ducted air.
See SOSA Angaan →
3
Refills and who touches it
One 400ml tank, roughly one visit a quarter
A setup that needs weekly attention will drift, because somebody will nudge the intensity and nobody will nudge it back. The Vaayu's 400ml tank runs up to about 75 days depending on intensity and hours, which on showroom trading hours means a refill roughly once a quarter and one person responsible for it. Engage the key-lock the day it is installed. It draws DC 12V at 5W, so it can sit on the same spur as your signage without anyone thinking about load, and at under 38dB nobody on the floor will hear it.
Tip: one named person, one calendar reminder a quarter, key-lock on the rest of the time.
SOSA Vaayu
The Vaayu holds 400ml and lasts up to about 75 days, with auto-stop and a key-lock so a public floor stays tamper-proof.

The SOSA principle
A well-placed machine at medium intensity beats a badly placed machine at full power, every time and at a third of the fragrance cost.
Capacity is what you buy. Airflow is what actually distributes it.
SOSA Angaan
When the setup outgrows one machine: SOSA Angaan puts the fragrance into the building's HVAC and covers up to 3,000m³ - about 8,000-10,000 sq ft - which is what a 3,000 sq ft floor under a 16 ft ceiling starts moving towards. ₹25,999.

Mounting, intensity and schedule - the working setup

Four setups, four showroom types. Notice that the machine only changes in the last row - everything above it is the same unit installed differently.

Order one fragrance for every machine on the site and resist the temptation to differentiate zones by scent - a customer walking from the floor to the lounge should not notice a change. On profile, keep it restrained; air-conditioned glass rooms amplify heavy notes and flatten sweetness. If your showroom is smaller than this, how to scent a 2,000 sq ft car showroom covers the simpler case, and if it is larger, how to scent a 5,000 sq ft automobile dealership picks up where this page stops. For the raw arithmetic behind every one of these numbers, see how ceiling height affects placement.

A quick word on setup: the single most common mistake at this size is mounting for convenience rather than for airflow, then compensating with intensity. That costs fragrance and still leaves a dead corner. One honest note - fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning and will not cover fresh paint, adhesive or fumes from the service side. Send us a plan and how the floor is cooled and we will specify the install on a free coverage plan.

A note from Sonal

The showrooms that smell wrong are almost never under-specified. They are badly placed. A machine tucked behind a display car, or sitting on a shelf in still air at the back of the floor, will scent about four metres of the room and nothing else, no matter how large it is or how hard you run it.

Air movement does the distribution, not the machine. Put the Vaayu where air is genuinely travelling - beside the return, near the entrance airflow, mounted around two to two and a half metres up - and its 1000m³ rating behaves like 1000m³. Where the whole floor runs on one central system, mounting an Angaan to the duct removes the placement question altogether, because the building becomes the distribution system.

Two honest notes. Fragrance works alongside ventilation and cleaning and replaces neither, and it will not cover fresh paint, adhesive, damp or the smell of a workshop. And we make no claim that scent influences a purchase decision - our claim is that a well-scented room reads as a finished room. SOSA is independent and not affiliated with any hotel. Everything is made in India, and a portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best scent machine setup for a 3,000 sq ft car showroom?
One SOSA Vaayu (Rs 11,999), mounted to the supply duct if the showroom has ducted air-conditioning, or wall mounted at two to two and a half metres beside the return-air grille if it does not. Run a steady medium intensity on the 8-hour timer, starting 30 to 45 minutes before opening, with the key-lock engaged. A 3,000 sq ft floor at a 10 ft ceiling holds about 850 cubic metres against the machine's 1000 cubic metre rating.
Is HVAC mounting better than a freestanding diffuser in a showroom?
Yes, wherever ducting exists. The duct is a distribution network you already run, so the far corner of the floor receives the same fragrance as the entrance and placement stops being guesswork. The Vaayu supports HVAC, wall and freestanding mounting. Freestanding is the fallback for a showroom on cassettes or splits and should sit in the entrance airflow, not in a still corner.
How often does a 3,000 sq ft showroom need a refill?
Roughly once a quarter. The 400ml tank lasts up to about 75 days depending on intensity and run hours, so on normal trading hours at a medium setting one person can own the refill on a calendar reminder. Keep the key-lock on between visits so the intensity does not drift.
Should the machine run overnight in a showroom?
There is no reason to. Set the timer to trading hours plus 30 to 45 minutes before opening. Running into an empty showroom overnight uses fragrance for nobody and shortens the interval between refills. The Vaayu app handles 1, 4, 8 and 24 hour schedules with adjustable intensity.
Can fragrance replace ventilation in a showroom?
No. Scent works alongside ventilation and cleaning and is not a substitute for either. It cannot cover fresh paint, adhesive, damp or workshop fumes, and layering it over those gives you both smells at once. SOSA also makes no claim that fragrance influences a purchase decision.
