Founder Diaries · Reed Diffuser & Home Fragrance Giftin
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 10 min read Updated September 2026
Yes, for one reason that has nothing to do with the fragrance being nice: there is nowhere in a car to put it away. The keychain goes into a bag and then into a drawer. A hanging perfume is hanging from the mirror when the customer sits down for the first time, which makes it the rare handover gift that gets used by default rather than by intention. The published list price is ₹449 to ₹509 per bottle, which is enough for you to do your own arithmetic against your current gifting line.
SOSA Jasmine hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 449
SOSA Jasmine hanging car perfume · 12ml · mild scent-throw ₹449 →
The number most per-car arithmetic ends up starting from. SOSA Jasmine hanging car perfume, ₹449 for 12ml - the lowest-priced hanging in the range, and available as the mild hanging or the stronger spray at exactly the same ₹449. It can be fitted during pre-delivery checks, so nothing is handed over loose and nothing needs explaining.
Quick answers — read this first
Do hanging car perfumes work as a dealership delivery gift? They work for a structural reason rather than a sentimental one: a car has no drawer. A SOSA hanging car perfume is ₹449 to ₹509 at published retail prices, is already installed when the customer sits down, and needs nothing explained at the handover.

What does it cost per car? SOSA publishes retail prices only: Jasmine ₹449 is the lowest, Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509 the highest. No bulk rate, minimum or slab is published anywhere. What those numbers become at forty a month is a conversation on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531, not something a page can print.

Should we give the hanging or the spray? The hanging, when you are choosing on behalf of a customer you have not asked. Both formats of the same scent cost exactly the same; the hanging is the mild scent-throw and the spray is the stronger one. A customer who finds a sealed car too loud cannot turn a spray down, only take it out.
The short answer
Short answer: Yes, mainly because a car has no drawer to put the gift into. SOSA hanging car perfumes are Rs 449 to Rs 509 at published retail prices, in eight scents, and the mild hanging and stronger spray of each scent cost the same. No bulk rate or minimum is published.
The pick: A mild hanging from ₹449, in two or three scents rather than eight, fitted during pre-delivery checks so nothing is handed over loose.
Why: It is already installed when the customer first sits down, it needs no explanation at the handover, and the mild format is the safe choice when nobody has asked the customer what they like.
Sending something when somebody is having a hard time - at a glanceKeep it small - candle ₹399, attar ₹379, car scent ₹449For their home - reed diffuser ₹749, nothing to switch onSay the words yourself - no card goes in the parcelNever - a parcel instead of turning up
A gift cannot change how somebody's week went, and a page that suggests otherwise is not worth reading. What a small parcel does is tell a person you were thinking about them on a day when nothing made you - which is a real thing to say, and worth saying. Keep it small, because a large one asks somebody already short of energy to produce a reaction, and send the words separately, because the object cannot carry them.
Straight answer
Is a hanging car perfume a practical delivery gift for a dealership doing around 40 cars a month?
Yes, and the argument is about geometry rather than generosity. Most handover gifts fail the same way: they are handed over loose, taken home in the bag with the paperwork, and never seen again. A car is the one place a customer cannot tidy something away, so a hanging perfume fitted before the customer arrives is in use from the first drive whether or not they ever thought about it. The published prices are Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, and Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. Two things are worth being straight about before you plan around it. SOSA publishes no bulk rate, no minimum order quantity, no slab and no commercial term of any kind - the numbers above are the retail prices a customer pays, and anything to do with quantity is settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than printed here. And no fragrance house can honestly tell you what a gift will do to your satisfaction numbers; what this page can tell you is what the product is, what it costs and where it fails. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
The question is not will the customer like the scent - it is can the customer put it away. In a car, they cannot. That is the whole argument.
The default for a handover programme: the mild hanging from ₹449, fitted before the customer arrives. Same price as the stronger spray, so the choice is scent-throw and not budget.
Hanging car perfumes from ₹449

The three things that decide whether an in-car gift works at 40 handovers a month

At forty handovers a month the unit price is the least interesting part of the decision. What actually determines whether this survives a year are three things, and they are worth working through in this order.

1
The first variable
Does it add a step to the handover, or remove one?
This is the question that kills most showroom gifting and almost nobody asks it first. A gift that has to be handed over, explained, or apologised for is a gift that costs your sales executive ninety seconds at exactly the moment they are trying to finish paperwork. Multiply that by forty and you have a process problem rather than a gifting one.

A hanging perfume has an unusual property here: it can be fitted during pre-delivery checks, so it is never handed over at all. It is simply there, on the mirror, when the customer opens the door. Nothing to unwrap, nothing to install, nothing to explain and no box to carry to the car park. If you want it acknowledged, one line at the handover does it. If your executive forgets, the gift still works.

Compare that with a boxed accessory, which has to be given, received, thanked for and then carried. The fragrance is not better than the accessory. It is just the only one of the two that survives being forgotten.
Tip: A gift fitted before the customer arrives cannot be forgotten by the person handing it over.
2
The second variable
Mild or strong, when nobody has asked the customer
Every SOSA car scent is sold in two formats: a hanging with a mild scent-throw and a spray with a stronger one. They cost exactly the same. Jasmine is ₹449 either way, Lemon ₹499 either way, Oud ₹509 either way, so this is genuinely not a budget decision and should never be made like one.

When you are choosing on behalf of somebody you have never asked, the mild hanging is the correct object. The reasoning is simple and worth saying out loud to whoever signs off the order: a customer who finds a scent too strong in a sealed car has no dial to turn it down with. Their only option is to remove it, which turns your gift into a small negative moment in a car they just paid for. A mild scent that somebody is indifferent to costs you nothing. A strong scent that somebody dislikes costs you the gift.

The spray is the better object in the opposite situation, where the recipient doses it themselves and knows what they are doing - which is a sales-team gift or a self-purchase, not a handover.
3
The third variable
How many scents can a handover actually carry?
The instinct with eight scents available is to offer a choice. At forty cars a month that instinct is expensive in a way that does not show up on the invoice: more variants to reorder, more to track across a month of uneven deliveries, and a handover conversation that now includes a fragrance consultation nobody planned for.

Two or three is usually the honest answer, chosen so they do not overlap. Lemon at ₹499 and Icy Mint at ₹489 are the least likely to be disliked by somebody who did not choose them. Sandalwood at ₹479 gives you one that reads as considered rather than functional. That is a working set.

What you should resist is carrying Oud at ₹509 as a default. It is the most distinctive scent in the range, which is exactly why it is the wrong one to put in a stranger's car without asking - the same quality that makes somebody love it makes somebody else open a window.
Tip: Carry two or three scents that do not overlap, not eight that do.
SOSA Lemon hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 499
The decision this whole category turns on
Hanging or spray is a scent-throw choice, not a budget choice
Every SOSA car scent is sold in two formats at the same price: the hanging is the mild scent-throw, the spray is the stronger one. Jasmine is ₹449 either way, Lemon ₹499 either way, Oud ₹509 either way. So the question is never which one you can afford - it is who controls the dose. Hand a car to somebody whose taste you have never asked about and the mild hanging is the safer object, because a person who finds a sealed car too loud cannot turn a scent down, only take it out.
See the SOSA car fragrance range →
Work it out in this order
How to settle a delivery-gift decision in about ten minutes
  1. Decide whether it is fitted before handover or given by hand. Fitted is easier.
  2. Choose the mild hanging, not the spray. Same price, and the customer has no dial.
  3. Pick two or three scents that do not overlap, rather than offering a choice.
  4. Do your own arithmetic on the Rs 449 to Rs 509 list, then talk quantities on WhatsApp.
The SOSA principle
Most handover gifts fail at the same point: the moment the customer has to decide where to put them. A car perfume never reaches that moment, because it was already installed before the customer arrived.
That is a structural advantage rather than a sentimental one, and it is the only claim about this category worth making to a person who has to sign off on forty of them a month.

Which scents to carry, and how few you actually need

Eight scents exist as a hanging, and they are not eight versions of one idea. Jasmine at ₹449 is the lowest-priced and the most conventionally pleasant. Sandalwood and Lavender at ₹479 are the two that read as considered rather than functional. Icy Mint at ₹489 is the sharpest and the one most people describe as clean rather than scented. Lemon at ₹499 is the workhorse citrus. Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver at ₹509 are the three with the strongest character, which makes them the best self-purchases and the riskiest gifts for somebody you have not asked. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is worth knowing about for a different reason: it is a spray only, with no hanging format, and it is the one car product that publishes duration figures.

The SOSA gift edit
The four standard handover gifts, and where each one fails
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
A hanging car perfume · ₹449 to ₹509 Fitted during pre-delivery checks, so it is working before the customer sits down and nothing is handed over loose. It fails if you carry too many scents to manage, or if somebody picks the most distinctive one for a customer they never asked. It also fails as a gesture if the customer has already bought their own.
A keychain · the incumbent Cheap, easy to hold and genuinely forgettable, which is the complaint most dealerships arrive with. Its real problem is not that it is low value but that it is portable: it leaves the car, goes into a bag, and ends up in a drawer with four others. It does not fail loudly. It just never gets used.
Flowers or sweets · the delivery-day gesture Good at the moment of the photograph and finished by the evening. They are the right thing if what you want is a handover that looks like an occasion. They are the wrong thing if you want the customer to still have it next week, and a fair number are left in the showroom.
An accessory voucher · the deferred option Flexible, and it moves the cost to whoever actually redeems it, which is often a minority. It fails as a gift in the way most vouchers do: it is a task rather than an object, and it asks the customer to come back and spend more before anything nice happens to them.
SOSA car hanging freshener refills, 15ml, from Rs 399
What happens after the gift
The 15ml refill is bigger than the 12ml bottle and costs less than a new unit
Refills run ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, and ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud - against ₹449 to ₹509 for the unit itself. This matters for one honest reason and not the flattering one: a gift that can be continued without being sold to is a different object from a gift that simply runs out. Whether anybody continues it is up to them, and no supplier can promise you they will.
See the 15ml refills →

One detail worth knowing before you plan a programme around this. SOSA publishes 15ml refills at ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, and ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud. The refill is larger than the 12ml bottle it refills and costs less than buying the unit again, which means a customer who liked what you fitted can continue it themselves without anybody selling to them. That is the honest version of what people usually call a loyalty mechanism: not a promise about behaviour, just a product that happens to have somewhere to go next. Whether anyone takes it up is genuinely not something a supplier can tell you.

SOSA Jasmine hanging car perfume, 12ml, Rs 449

₹449 · 12ml
SOSA car hanging freshener refills, 15ml, from Rs 399

SOSA Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set of three, from Rs 699
Three sprays from ₹699, or all nine at ₹2,999. The honest answer when the recipient's taste is genuinely unknown: let them find out rather than guessing on their behalf.
from ₹699
When one particular car is not part of the programme
SOSA Safar ₹3,999 for a car, SOSA Vaayu ₹11,999 for the building it is parked at
Safar is the waterless, cordless, rechargeable cold-diffusion perfume diffuser for a car or a travel bag - ₹3,999 for the SOSA-scent trios and ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios. It is not a volume gift and should not be described as one; it is what a business reaches for when a single handover genuinely warrants it. Vaayu is the same waterless idea sized for a building: cold-air nebulising of undiluted oil, rated for approximately 1000 m3 of connected air, with a Bluetooth app and timer, a 400ml tank, freestanding or wall and HVAC mounting, DC 12V / 1A 5W mains power and CE, RoHS and SGS marks - which makes it a showroom or workshop question rather than a gifting one. Both run waterless nebuliser oil at ₹1,049 for 100 gm and ₹1,849 for 300 gm, and neither takes the ₹299 water-based Hotel Collection bottle. No runtime, battery life or coverage figure is published for Safar. Both add a scent to a space; neither removes one.

You cannot buy a customer's goodwill for ₹449, and anybody who tells you otherwise is selling you something. What ₹449 buys is an object that is used rather than stored, which is a much smaller and much more defensible claim.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every reed diffuser gift, and the first one is not price. How big is the room it is going into? A 50ml suits a bedroom, a study, a hallway or a first diffuser; a 130ml suits an open-plan living and dining area, and it is genuinely too much for a small closed bedroom. Then: how much do you actually know about their taste? The less you know, the less declarative the scent should be - Morning Freshness is the safest of the five for a home you have never stood in, and Fresh Brew coffee-vanilla is the strongest opinion in the range. Price follows those two answers rather than leading them.

Every price above is the published retail price on the live SOSA product page, which is what any business should build its own arithmetic on. SOSA does not publish a bulk rate, a minimum order quantity, a slab, a dispatch window or any commercial term, and nothing on this page should be read as one. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; quantities and everything commercial are settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531 rather than priced on a page. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune and sends orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

The honest price sheet
What SOSA publishes, and what SOSA does not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Hanging car perfumes, 12ml - Jasmine ₹449, Sandalwood and Lavender ₹479, Icy Mint ₹489, Lemon ₹499, Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver ₹509. Eight scents in the hanging format.
  • The same scents as sprays, at the same price. Hanging is the mild scent-throw, spray is the stronger one, and they cost the same - so the choice is about who controls the dose, not about money. Mysore Orange Blossom ₹549 is a spray only and has no hanging format.
  • Refills, 15ml - ₹399 for Lemon and Jasmine, ₹429 for Sandalwood, Lavender and Icy Mint, ₹449 for Sea Breeze, Vetiver and Oud. Larger than the 12ml bottle, and cheaper than buying a new unit.
  • Combos and sets - two-scent combos ₹899 to ₹949, the Discovery Set of three sprays ₹699 to ₹899, all nine sprays ₹2,999, and 50ml sprays ₹1,499. SOSA Safar ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired trios.
  • Duration - the only car product publishing a figure is Mysore Orange Blossom: 10ml is about 100 sprays lasting about 3 months, 50ml is about 500 sprays lasting about a year or more. Those numbers belong to that spray and to nothing else. No duration is published for the hanging format.
  • Not published, and therefore never stated here: any bulk rate, minimum order quantity, slab or volume discount; any dispatch, delivery or cut-off timing; any payment, invoicing or credit term; case packs, carton sizes or unit weights; any claim that a gift will change a customer's behaviour, a survey score or a repeat rate; and any claim that a fragrance removes, neutralises or purifies anything. Those go to WhatsApp +91 96192 18531.

A note from Sonal

The businesses that write to SOSA about car fragrance almost never open with a question about fragrance. They open with a question about a drawer. Somebody ordered five hundred of something last year, and most of it is still sitting in a drawer at the back of the showroom, and nobody wants to repeat that.

What makes a car product different from the keychain and the diary is not that it is nicer. It is that there is nowhere to put it away. A hanging perfume is hanging. It is not in a bag to be taken home and forgotten; it is in the one enclosed space the person is going to sit in tomorrow morning. That is an argument about geometry rather than about generosity, and it is the only argument for this category I am willing to make.

The thing I would push back on hardest is the instinct to buy the strongest one. When you are choosing on somebody else's behalf, and you will never meet most of them, the mild hanging is the correct choice and it costs exactly the same as the spray. A person who finds a scent too loud in a sealed car cannot turn it down; they can only take it out. Quiet is what lets a gift survive contact with a stranger's taste.

And the part I will not pretend about: I cannot tell you this will bring anyone back. No fragrance house can honestly tell a business what a gift will do to its numbers. What I can tell you is what the product is, what it costs, and what happens when somebody likes it enough to buy the refill themselves - which is the only loyalty any of us actually earns.

Frequently asked questions

What is the cost per car for a hanging perfume gift at a dealership?
SOSA publishes retail prices only: Rs 449 for Jasmine, Rs 479 for Sandalwood and Lavender, Rs 489 for Icy Mint, Rs 499 for Lemon and Rs 509 for Oud, Sea Breeze and Vetiver. There is no published bulk rate, minimum order quantity or slab, so any figure below the retail price would be invented. Work out your own arithmetic from the list and settle quantities on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.
Should a dealership give the hanging or the spray version?
The hanging, for a customer nobody has asked. Both formats of the same scent cost exactly the same, so this is not a budget decision. The hanging is the mild scent-throw and the spray is the stronger one, and a customer who finds a sealed car too strong has no way to reduce it other than removing the product.
How many scents should we carry for a handover programme?
Two or three that do not overlap, rather than all eight. More variants means more to reorder and track across a month of uneven deliveries, and it turns a handover into a fragrance conversation. Lemon and Icy Mint are the least likely to be disliked by somebody who did not choose them; Oud is the most distinctive and the riskiest default.
How long does a hanging car perfume last?
SOSA does not publish a duration for the hanging format, so nobody should quote you one. The only SOSA car product that publishes figures is the Mysore Orange Blossom spray, at approximately 100 sprays in the 10ml and approximately 500 in the 50ml. If you need a replacement cadence for a programme, fit a few and observe what you actually see rather than planning against a number nobody published.
Can the label carry our dealership logo, and can SOSA quote for 40 a month?
A custom label or logo on product is available, and that is the whole of the branding offer - there is no custom box, printed sleeve, insert card or wrapping service. Bulk orders are welcome and no quantity is too small or too large to ask about, but nothing about quantities, terms or timing is published on a page. Message SOSA on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531.

No claim is made anywhere on this page about what a gift will do to a business result - not to a satisfaction or survey score, not to repeat business, referrals, reviews, retention or recall. Those outcomes depend on the business and not on a fragrance, and no fragrance house can honestly promise them. No claim is made about how any recipient will feel. No duration is published or implied for the hanging format. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
