Here is the part of shared-car ownership nobody writes about: the last person out of the car decides what the first person in walks into. You plug it in, shut the doors, and eight hours later somebody else opens them. Whatever you did in that last minute before you locked up is now their starting condition, and they were not there to agree to it. This is not really a fragrance question at all until you notice one structural fact about the two formats SOSA sells. A spray does nothing at all until a finger presses it. A hanging is already running. One of those two has a state called nothing, and in a car with two drivers that turns out to be the whole argument.
The shared-cabin rule is structural rather than diplomatic. A spray does nothing until somebody presses it; a hanging runs whether anybody wants it or not. So the last driver out can hand the car over unchanged only with the format that has an off position. A 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays, which is 3 months and above at one a day, and the 12ml hanging is the same price for the same scent.
Quick answers — read this first
Should you apply your own preferred fragrance before parking a car somebody else drives first? That is a handover decision rather than a fragrance decision, and it is worth taking deliberately. A 10ml SOSA spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays, and its defining property is that it does nothing until somebody presses it. Not pressing it before you lock up is a real, available option, and it hands the next driver an unfragranced cabin and the bottle.
Does overnight charging have anything to do with this? No. Charging is not a fragrance variable and SOSA publishes nothing about it. What is actually true of the car overnight is that it is shut for eight or ten hours, and that is equally true of a petrol car on the same driveway with no cable attached. The variable here is that two people use the cabin in turn, not what is going into the battery.
Is there a format that leaves the cabin untouched between drivers? Only the one with an off position. A 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass at the same price as the spray for the same scent, with a stopper that loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler. That is a setting, not a switch. The spray is the format that is off by default, and that is the only published difference that matters at a handover.
The short answer
Short answer: The last driver out sets the cabin for the first driver in, so the useful question is which format lets you hand the car over unchanged. A SOSA 10ml spray is Rs 449 to Rs 549 and holds 100 sprays, and it does nothing until somebody presses it. A 12ml hanging is the same price and runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously, which means it is still running at eight in the morning whoever opens the door. None of this is affected by the car being charged overnight.
The pick: A 10ml SOSA car perfume spray, ₹449 to ₹549 - 100 sprays, kept with the driver rather than in the car, so the cabin is only fragranced by whoever is about to sit in it.
Why: It is the only one of the two formats with a genuine off position, and at a handover the off position is the thing you are actually choosing between.
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
I charge our EV overnight and my spouse is usually the first person to drive it in the morning - should I avoid applying my preferred fragrance before parking the vehicle?
You do not have to avoid it, but you should notice that you are making the decision for two people, and that one format lets you not make it. Strip the question back and the mechanism is simple. A SOSA 10ml spray is a fine-mist atomizer and it is published at 100 sprays, set out as 3 months and above at one spray a day or 50 days at two a day. It is ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze and ₹549 for Mysore Orange Blossom. Until a finger presses it, it has produced nothing - so there is a version of tomorrow morning where the cabin is simply the cabin, and your spouse holds the bottle and decides. The 12ml hanging costs exactly the same for the same scent, runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and its published control is a stopper you loosen for stronger or tighten for subtler. That control adjusts it; it does not switch it off. So a hanging is a standing decision about the cabin, taken once, that applies to whoever opens the door next. Neither is the better product. They are different in one structural way and that difference is the entire shared-cabin question. This page will not tell you how your spouse responds to any scent - nobody can tell you that, and SOSA publishes no such claim. It can tell you that the spray hands the choice forward and the hanging does not. Two honest limits. Overnight charging has nothing to do with fragrance: SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim, and the relevant fact about the car at night is that it is shut for eight hours, which would be just as true without a cable. And fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise or mask one, so if the car greets either of you with something new in the morning, that is a question about the car rather than about the bottle. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
A spray is off until pressed. A hanging is not. In a two-driver car that is the whole difference.
The short version for a two-driver car: a spray is off until pressed and a hanging is not. If you want the cabin left as it is for whoever opens the door next, that is the spray - ₹449 to ₹549, 100 sprays, three months and above at one a day. If you would rather the decision be taken once for both of you, that is the 12ml hanging at the same price, 4 to 6 weeks.
Three things to settle about the handover, and none of them is the plug
The question sounds like etiquette and is actually mechanics. Two people use one sealed volume of air in turn, and the handover happens while both of them are asleep. Three things are worth separating, and the third one is the one the question is usually phrased around.
01
The handover
The last door shut is the last decision taken
In a car with one driver, the cabin you make is the cabin you get. In a car with two, the person who locks up at night is setting the conditions for somebody who is not there. That is not a problem to be solved, it is just a fact to be seen clearly, and it changes which property of a fragrance format you care about. Strength stops being the interesting axis. So does duration. What matters is whether the thing you leave behind is still doing something in the morning, and whether the next driver has any say in it. Once you put it that way, the choice between a spray and a hanging is not about scent at all - it is about who holds the decision at eight o'clock.
Tip: You are not choosing a strength. You are choosing who decides.
02
The off position
One format has a default of nothing and one does not
This is published, not a preference, and it is the only structural difference between the two formats that matters here. The spray is an atomizer: one press covers the cabin, and until somebody presses it, nothing has happened. Its natural state is off. The hanging is continuous diffusion: SOSA publishes 4 to 6 weeks per 12ml bottle, in refillable glass, with a stopper that loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler. Its natural state is on, and the stopper adjusts where on sits rather than providing an off. Both cost the same for the same scent, so nothing here is a value judgement. It is simply that a shared cabin asks a question - can we leave this alone by default - that only one of the two formats can answer yes to.
03
The variable that is not one
The charging cable is not part of this decision
The question arrives phrased around the overnight charge, so it is worth saying plainly. SOSA publishes no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product, and makes no claim that a fragrance behaves differently in any of them. A perfume sits in a closed volume of air with a person in it, and that volume does not know what is turning the wheels. Charging is not a fragrance variable either. What is genuinely true of your car between eleven at night and eight in the morning is that it is shut, unoccupied and unventilated for nine hours - and that is identical for a petrol hatchback parked on the same driveway with nothing plugged into it. The real variables in your question are that two people share the cabin and that they use it at different times.
Tip: Two drivers is the variable. The cable is not.
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
Settle it in this order and the format chooses itself
Ask who is actually deciding at eight in the morning: you last night, or them.
Decide whether the cabin has a default of nothing. Only the spray offers one.
A 10ml is 100 sprays. Two drivers at one press each is a 50-day bottle.
If you want it running for both of you anyway, that is the hanging, same price.
The SOSA principle
The only format that can hand a car over unchanged is the one that has not done anything yet.
Which is why this question has a genuine answer rather than a diplomatic one, and why the answer is published rather than invented.
What the two formats are, and which one has an off position
Because the spray and the hanging are the same price for the same scent, scent is a free choice here rather than a trade. Lavender at ₹479 is published as the softest of the range, and Jasmine at ₹449 sits at the softer end too. Lemon at ₹499 comes next in that published ordering, then Sandalwood at ₹479, with Oud at ₹509 the deepest. Icy Mint at ₹489, Sea Breeze at ₹509 and Vetiver at ₹509 complete the eight two-format scents. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only, with no hanging version at all, which in a shared car is worth knowing before either of you falls for it.
The SOSA gift edit
Four ways two drivers can handle one cabin, and where each one fails
The option
Who it suits, and where it fails
The spray lives with you, not in the car
The cleanest expression of off by default. Nobody inherits a decision, and the bottle only leaves your bag when you are the one driving. It fails if you actually wanted the car to greet somebody, because it cannot do anything while it is indoors on a hook.
The spray lives in the door pocket, either of you may press it
The shared-instrument version, and the one most households land on. A 10ml is 100 sprays, so two drivers at one press each is a 50-day bottle rather than the published 3 months and above at one a day. It fails when nobody knows who pressed last.
A 12ml hanging at the same price, stopper tightened
Nothing to remember, nothing to press, and 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass. It fails on exactly the point this page is about: tightening the stopper makes it subtler, and there is no setting at which the cabin is simply unfragranced.
A spray combo, 200 sprays across two scents
Two 10ml bottles, one per driver, published as 100 days at two a day rotating. Each of you presses your own and the counts stay separate. It fails as a saving, because you are now buying two bottles to solve a question of etiquette.
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
Two practical points that settle this for some households regardless of the argument. 15ml refills exist for the hanging at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents, in a refillable glass bottle, and there is no spray refill at all, so a spray is replaced rather than topped up and Orange Blossom has no refill in either form. The whole range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity - a formulation and stability statement about surviving an Indian car park, not a claim that anything performs differently in one season or another, and this page will not invent one. On presentation, if one of these is going to somebody else: custom label or logo on product is the only branding option, with no custom box and no printed sleeve.
₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 sprays. Fragrance you decide to have, journey by journey - which is the format that suits a car occupied an hour or two a day.
The same price as the spray, published at 4 to 6 weeks in a refillable glass bottle. The stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler - which is the only strength control SOSA publishes.
Three sprays from ₹699, or all nine at ₹2,999. Nine published combinations and those nine are the whole range - you pick from them, you do not assemble one.
from ₹699
The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.
Tell SOSA how many hours a day somebody is actually sitting in the car, where it is parked and for how long, whether the windows are usually open or shut, and who else drives it - and you will be told which format and how much, including the times the honest answer is the hanging at the same price because you would rather not think about it.
You are not asking whether your fragrance is too strong. You are asking whether the person who opens the door at eight should have had a vote.
— Sonal Sahani, SOSA
The SOSA gifting range
Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.
The SOSA range, sorted by how much it asks of the person receiving it
Start from what the gift demands, not from what it costs
₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin
The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler
₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out
₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs
₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you
₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder
from ₹3,999
The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
The published quantities - a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, stated as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more, at ₹1,499. A spray combo is 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating. These are the only usage figures SOSA gives.
The hanging - 4 to 6 weeks (28 to 42 days) of continuous diffusion per 12ml bottle, in refillable glass, and the stopper adjusts the strength: loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler.
Combos and the Discovery Set - four published pairs at ₹899 and ₹949, as a spray combo (2 x 10ml) or a hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. The Discovery Set is ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays and ₹2,999 for all nine. Those nine combinations are the entire set range and none is composed to order.
Refills - 15ml hanging refills at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill and Orange Blossom has no refill.
The formulation - alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity, made in India.

A note from Sonal
We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.
What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.
So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.
And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.
Frequently asked questions
Should I avoid spraying before I park a car my spouse drives first in the morning?
You do not have to, but understand what you are choosing. A SOSA 10ml spray is an atomizer that does nothing until somebody presses it, so not pressing it before you lock up is a real option, and it hands the next driver an unfragranced cabin and the bottle. Pressing it is also fine. The point is that the spray makes that a decision each time, and a hanging makes it once for everybody.
Does the hanging have an off setting for a shared car?
No. SOSA publishes a stopper that loosens for stronger and tightens for subtler, and that is an adjustment rather than a switch. A 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass and costs the same as the spray for the same scent. If your requirement is that the cabin can be left alone by default, the spray is the format that does it.
Does charging the car overnight affect the fragrance?
No. Charging is not a fragrance variable and SOSA publishes nothing about it. What is genuinely true overnight is that the car is shut and unoccupied for eight or ten hours, which is equally true of a petrol hatchback on the same driveway with no cable. The variable in your question is that two people use the cabin at different times.
How long will a 10ml spray last with two drivers?
Do the division, because it is your rate and not a property of the bottle. A 10ml holds 100 sprays. Two drivers pressing once each a day is two a day, which is the published 50 days. One press between you on most days is closer to the published 3 months and above at one a day. A spray before every separate errand is a much shorter bottle, and that is a choice rather than a fault.
Can I pick a scent my spouse will prefer?
That is not something this page or SOSA can tell you, and no claim about how another person responds to a fragrance is published anywhere. What is published is the relative ordering: Lavender is the softest, then Lemon, then Sandalwood, with Oud the deepest. If the two of you disagree, the spray combo is 200 sprays across two 10ml bottles, so each of you can press your own.

SOSA Safar is ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
