You want the most versatile bottle, not the most impressive one. Fair enough. Here is my own range ranked by versatility, with the reasoning - including a frank note about which of my attars covers the fewest months.
Quick answers — read this first
Which SOSA attar is most versatile?Adaa - twelve months, every occasion except a formal evening where you want depth.
Which is least?Nawaab - roughly four months of daily wear plus evenings year-round. Remarkable and narrow.
What about the middle?Ameeri covers eight or nine months; Mastani is an evening bottle in any season.
The short answer
Versatility is scalability. A light composition can be worn heavier in cold; a deep one cannot be worn light enough for May. That asymmetry decides which bottles work year-round.
The non-negotiable. Change the dose, not the bottle. One dab in summer, two in the monsoon, three in winter. Every SOSA attar is alcohol-free and DPG-free.
SOSA in one line. Alcohol-free, DPG-free, IFRA-compliant attars on a jojoba and Mysore sandalwood base, 6-8 hours on skin, 3ml / 6ml / 12ml, ₹379-₹1,199, hand-blended in Pune.
Start here. For year-round wear, Adaa - the most scalable composition in the range. 3ml at ₹379 to test, 12ml at ₹1,149 if it becomes your signature.
Illustrative only. Versatility is mostly a property of dosage, not of the bottle. A light composition covers the widest range of Indian conditions because it can be scaled up; a deep one cannot be scaled down far enough for May.
So which attar should you buy for maximum versatility?
Adaa, without much competition. Ranked by months and occasions covered: Adaa - twelve months, every daytime occasion, most evenings; Ameeri - eight or nine months of daily wear, functions all year; Mastani - evenings in any season, daytime only in winter; Nawaab - four months of daily wear plus evenings, and genuinely unwearable at midday in May. That last one is my most expensive bottle and my least versatile, and both things are true at once.
Short version: Adaa twelve months, Ameeri nine, Mastani evenings, Nawaab four. That is the honest ranking.
Want the short path?Adaa - the most versatile thing I make, by a clear margin.
Ranking your own products by anything other than desirability is unusual, so here it is plainly.
What "year-round" should mean
A year-round attar is one that can be scaled. Light compositions can be worn heavier when it is cold; deep ones cannot be worn light enough for an Indian May. That asymmetry - not some mythical all-weather blend - is what actually makes a fragrance versatile.
1
Criterion one
1. Adaa — twelve months, almost every occasion
Bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac, white musk. No sugar in the base, which clears heat and humidity; enough material to hold at three dabs, which clears cold. Office, commute, travel, daytime functions, most evenings. The only place it falls short is a formal winter evening where you want depth.
2
Criterion two
2. Ameeri — eight or nine months, functions all year
Taif rose, Indian sandalwood, Persian saffron, soft oudh. Warm enough to want cooler weather for daily wear, dry enough to work at two dabs in a hot hall. Daily from October to March, functions in any month.
3. Mastani — evenings in any season, days in winter
Night jasmine, Damask rose, vanilla, tonka. The vanilla and tonka are what limit it: wonderful after dark all year, difficult in daylight outside winter. A genuinely good bottle with a narrow daytime window.
4
Criterion four
4. Nawaab — four months daily, evenings year-round
White royal oud at 9.5/10. My most expensive attar and my least versatile, which is not a contradiction: depth is exactly what creates both properties. Daily wear from November to February, evenings all year, and not at midday in May at any dose.

Where SOSA sits - and where another attar might suit you better
Ranking Nawaab last on versatility while it remains the thing I am proudest of is the honest position. Versatility and quality are unrelated properties.
The honest position
Versatility and quality are different axes.
Where I think we earn a place on your shortlist: a range spread deliberately across the versatility axis with an honest ranking of it. Where another house might suit you better: if versatility is your only criterion, any light, dry, alcohol-free attar will serve - the strategy is what matters.
Three things year-round fragrance advice gets wrong
✕
"You need a seasonal wardrobe." You need a seasonal dose. One light composition worn at one dab in May and three in January covers most of an Indian year honestly.
✕
"Versatile means boring." It means scalable. A composition with real material is interesting at any dose - what makes something boring is thinness, not versatility.
✕
"A heavy attar can be worn lightly in summer." Only so far. A 9.5/10 composition at one dab is still a great deal at 42°C - reviews here are illustrative, not a guarantee.
Buy for the months you will wear it rather than the impression it makes. Adaa for versatility, Nawaab when you want the other thing.
The SOSA attar range
All four are alcohol-free and DPG-free in 3ml, 6ml and 12ml. Versatility ranking: Adaa, Ameeri, Mastani, Nawaab.
The most useful thing I have learnt making attars is that versatility is a dosage property, not a magic formulation. A light composition can be worn heavier when it is cold. A deep one cannot be worn light enough for a Pune May - one dab of something at 9.5/10 is still a great deal of scent at forty-two degrees.
That asymmetry is why, if someone tells me they want one attar for the whole Indian year, I point them at the lightest thing I make rather than the most impressive. Adaa at one dab in May, two through the rains and three in January is a genuinely different fragrance experience in each season, from the same bottle.
I would rather sell you one 12ml you wear every day than four bottles you rotate out of obligation. If another house makes a light, alcohol-free, honestly-described composition you prefer, buy that one and wear it all year.
Frequently asked questions
Which SOSA attar is the most versatile?
Adaa - bergamot, green cardamom, neroli, jasmine sambac and white musk. It has no sugar in its base, which is what lets it survive heat and humidity, and enough material to hold up at three dabs in January. From ₹379.
Can one attar work all year in India?
Yes, if it is light enough to scale. The trick is changing the dose rather than the bottle - one dab in summer, two in the monsoon, three in winter. Adaa is the most scalable composition in the SOSA range for exactly this reason.
Do I need different fragrances for different seasons?
No - though it is a pleasure if you want one. What you genuinely need is a different dose. Most people who buy a seasonal wardrobe could have bought one light bottle and adjusted.
Is a versatile attar a boring one?
Only if it is thin. Versatility comes from having no sugar in the base and being scalable - not from having less character. A composition with real materials in it stays interesting at one dab and at three.
Which size should I buy for a year-round attar?
Test the 3ml at ₹379 across a month of real conditions first. If it earns the place, the 12ml at ₹1,149-₹1,199 is roughly half the per-ml cost and the right purchase for daily wear.
