Founder Diaries · Car Perfumes, Parking & How a Car Is Actually Used
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 10 min read Updated September 2026
In most two-car households the cars have jobs rather than equal status, and the jobs are what should decide this. One does the office run and the weekly grocery trip - twenty minutes at a time, usually one person in it, parked for the rest of the day. The other does the four-hour journeys with everybody in it and the boot full. Those are not two versions of the same fragrance question; they are two different questions that happen to be asked by the same family. The useful thing is to stop trying to find one product that answers both, and instead ask of each car the only question that decides it: how many hours is anybody actually sitting in this one, and how many of them are there?
SOSA Jasmine and Lemon car perfume combo, spray or hanging
SOSA car perfume · spray or hanging, same price · nine scents from ₹449 →
Two cars in one household is two different fragrance questions, and the line between them is not the badge on the boot. It is occupied hours and how many people are inside. The short-run car is occupied briefly, alone, and parked the rest of the day; the long-journey car is occupied for hours, with a full complement of passengers. A 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and holds 100 sprays; a 12ml hanging is the same price and runs 4 to 6 weeks. The two cars may well want different formats, and never because of what they run on.
Quick answers — read this first
Should a second car used only for short runs have its own fragrance routine? Yes, and the reason is the usage rather than the vehicle. A car occupied for twenty minutes at a time by one person is well served by a spray you control: a 10ml is ₹449 to ₹549 and holds 100 sprays, published at 3 months and above at one a day. A car doing long journeys with four people in it is a different brief altogether.

Is the electric car the one that needs the lighter option? No. SOSA publishes no electric, petrol or diesel product and no powertrain claim. The car that should get the lighter routine is the one with fewer occupied hours and fewer people in it, and in this household that happens to be the hatchback. Swap the two cars' jobs and the recommendation swaps with them.

Is a combo the sensible way to cover two cars? It can be, with one caveat about what is published. A spray combo is two 10ml bottles, 200 sprays in total, published at 100 days at two a day rotating, at ₹899 to ₹949. That figure describes rotating two scents, not splitting a pair between two vehicles - where you keep each bottle is your decision and SOSA publishes nothing about it.
The short answer
Short answer: Give the short-run car its own routine, decided on occupied hours rather than on what it runs on. A SOSA 10ml spray is Rs 449 to Rs 549 and holds 100 sprays, 3 months and above at one a day, which fits a car occupied briefly and alone. The 12ml hanging is the same price and runs 4 to 6 weeks.
The pick: A 10ml SOSA car perfume spray, ₹449 to ₹549 for the short-run car - 100 sprays, one short journey at a time, with the long-journey car answered separately.
Why: Short, solo, frequent occupancy is the pattern a counted spray fits best, while a car with four people in it for four hours is a different question that deserves its own answer.
What the car runs on is not the variable. How it is used is.On demand - 10ml spray ₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 spraysContinuous - 12ml hanging, same price, 4 to 6 weeksVentilate a hot or long-shut cabin before you judge itNever - fragrance instead of finding a smell's source
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
Straight answer
My electric hatchback is used primarily for office commuting and grocery runs, while our larger family car handles long journeys - should the EV's fragrance routine focus on short, controllable scent experiences?
Yes, and not for a single reason connected to how either car is powered. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim, so the split you are describing is a split in jobs, not in engineering. The hatchback is occupied briefly, frequently and usually alone: twenty minutes to the office, twenty back, a grocery run at the weekend, and parked for everything in between. That is the pattern a counted spray is best at. A SOSA 10ml spray is ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon and ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze, and it is published at 100 sprays, which the pages set out as 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day. One as you leave in the morning is the three-month version. Three separate short runs with a spray before each is not, and the bottle will show you inside a month. The family car is where the arithmetic goes the other way: more hours inside, more people, and a journey nobody wants to interrupt to adjust anything, which is a reasonable argument for the 12ml hanging at the same price - 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, with a stopper that loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler, and no decision required at any point. If you want one purchase to start both cars off, a spray combo at ₹899 to ₹949 is two 10ml bottles and 200 sprays, published at 100 days at two a day rotating - though that published figure describes rotating two scents rather than dividing them between vehicles, and where each bottle lives is your call. One limit to keep: fragrance adds a scent; it does not remove one, so a car that has picked up a smell from the boot or the mats is a question about the car. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Two cars, two jobs, two answers. The short-run car wants control; the long-journey car usually wants to be left alone.
For a two-car household: the short-run car is the one where a 10ml spray from ₹449 and its 100 sprays does the most work, because it is occupied briefly and usually by one person. The long-journey car is a different question - more hours inside, more people - and it is worth answering separately rather than buying twice of the same thing out of habit.
SOSA car perfumes from ₹449

Three ways the second car's job changes the answer

The mistake in a two-car household is buying the same thing twice because it seemed simpler. Three differences between the two cars decide it, and not one of them appears in a brochure.

01
Occupied hours
Forty minutes a day against four hours at a stretch
The hatchback doing office and groceries is occupied for well under an hour on most days, in pieces, and empty for the rest. The family car on a long journey is occupied continuously for hours at a time, which is a completely different exposure. Anything continuous in the hatchback spends the overwhelming majority of its output on an empty parked cabin; the same product in the family car on a Saturday is working the whole time somebody is in it. So the format question resolves differently in each car for the same reason - and the reason is hours, not horsepower. Count them for each vehicle before buying anything for either.
Tip: The car with fewer occupied hours is the one a counted bottle suits.
02
How many people
One driver is a decision; four passengers is a compromise
A car only you drive is a car where you are the only opinion, which is why a spray works so well in it - you decide, journey by journey, and nobody else is affected by the decision. A car with four people in it for four hours has four opinions and no easy way to adjust mid-journey. That is the strongest practical argument for a format with a setting rather than a dose: the 12ml hanging's stopper tightens for subtler and loosens for stronger, set once, in the driveway, and left. SOSA publishes no claim about passengers of any kind beyond that, so treat this as what it is - a point about control and shared space, rather than about anybody's response to a scent.
03
Not the powertrain
Swap the two cars' jobs and the advice swaps with them
It is worth testing the recommendation against its own logic. If the hatchback were the one doing the long family journeys and the larger car sat at the station all week, the advice would move across with the jobs and not stay with the badge. That is the clearest demonstration that the powertrain is not doing any work here. SOSA makes no petrol, diesel or electric product and publishes no claim that a fragrance behaves differently in one, and charging is not a fragrance variable either: a car shut for eight hours on a driveway is shut for eight hours whether it is plugged in or not. What genuinely differs is parking, occupied time, ventilation and who else drives it.
Tip: If the answer would follow the job rather than the car, it was never about the car.
SOSA Mysore Orange Blossom car perfume spray, 10ml and 50ml
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.
See Mysore Orange Blossom from ₹549 →
Work it out in this order
Answer each car separately, in four steps
  1. Write down the occupied hours for each car. Not the kilometres, the hours.
  2. Write down how many people are usually in each one. One is a decision.
  3. Give the short-run car the format you control; 100 sprays is the budget.
  4. Answer the long-journey car on its own terms, not as a copy of the first.
The SOSA principle
Buy for each car's job. The one that does short solo runs wants a bottle you control; the one that does the long hauls usually wants to be left alone.
And because spray and hanging cost the same for the same scent, running two different formats across two cars costs nothing extra in principle.

One scent for both cars, or one each

Whether the two cars share a scent is a question of what you want the switch between them to feel like. Keeping them the same makes the household consistent; making them different marks the hatchback as yours. The softer end is Jasmine at ₹449 and Lavender at ₹479. The bright group is Icy Mint at ₹489, Lemon at ₹499 and Sea Breeze at ₹509. The deep end is Sandalwood at ₹479, Vetiver at ₹509 and Oud at ₹509, with Oud the deepest published. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only, so it cannot be the hanging in the second car.

The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to cover two cars, and where each one falls short
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
A 10ml spray in the hatchback only, from ₹449 100 sprays for the car that is occupied briefly and alone, 3 months and above at one a day. It fails by leaving the family car unanswered, which is the car with the most occupied hours in it.
A 12ml hanging in the hatchback, same price 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion and nothing to remember. It fails on the arithmetic of a car parked most of the day, since the majority of its output happens with nobody inside.
A spray combo, ₹899 to ₹949 Two 10ml bottles and 200 sprays, published at 100 days at two a day rotating. That published figure is about rotating two scents; splitting the pair between two cars is your own arrangement and SOSA publishes nothing about it.
A hanging combo at the same prices Two 12ml bottles, 4 to 6 weeks each and 8 to 12 weeks alternating. Good for the long-journey car, and the least suited of the four to a hatchback that spends twenty-two hours a day parked and empty.
SOSA Lavender car perfume, spray and hanging formats
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
See SOSA car perfumes from ₹449 →

Three published details that matter in a two-car household. The 50ml spray is ₹1,499 on every scent, 500 sprays and about a year and more - genuinely sensible once one car's rate is known, and premature while it is not. 15ml hanging refills are ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents in a refillable glass bottle, and there is no spray refill. And the Discovery Set publishes nine fixed combinations from ₹699, or all nine sprays at ₹2,999 - you choose from the published list rather than assembling one, which is worth knowing if you were planning to pick a scent per car from a set.

SOSA car perfume spray 10ml, from Rs 449
₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 sprays. Fragrance you decide to have, journey by journey - which is the format that suits a car occupied an hour or two a day.
from ₹449
SOSA car hanging perfume 12ml, from Rs 449
The same price as the spray, published at 4 to 6 weeks in a refillable glass bottle. The stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler - which is the only strength control SOSA publishes.
from ₹449
SOSA Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set, from Rs 699
Three sprays from ₹699, or all nine at ₹2,999. Nine published combinations and those nine are the whole range - you pick from them, you do not assemble one.
from ₹699
The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.

One message, one honest recommendation
Tell SOSA how many hours a day somebody is actually sitting in the car, where it is parked and for how long, whether the windows are usually open or shut, and who else drives it - and you will be told which format and how much, including the times the honest answer is the hanging at the same price because you would rather not think about it.

If the advice would follow the job when you swap the two cars over, then the advice was never about the car. It was about the hours and the people.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.

The SOSA range, sorted by how much it asks of the person receiving it
Start from what the gift demands, not from what it costs
Product What it is What it is for Price
SOSA car perfume spray - 10ml Fragrance you switch on ₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin from ₹449
SOSA car hanging - 12ml Fragrance that simply runs The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler from ₹449
SOSA car perfume spray - 50ml The long-run size ₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out ₹1,499
Car perfume combos Two scents, one purchase ₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs from ₹899
Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set Three to try ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays, or ₹2,999 for all nine. Nine published combinations, and those nine are the whole range - none is composed to order from ₹699
Hanging refills - 15ml Only the hanging refills ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you from ₹399
SOSA Safar The powered option ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder from ₹3,999

The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Nine scents, two formats, one price each - Jasmine ₹449; Lavender and Sandalwood ₹479; Icy Mint ₹489; Lemon ₹499; Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze ₹509. Each is sold as a spray or a hanging at the same price. Mysore Orange Blossom is ₹549 and is spray only.
  • The published quantities - a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, stated as 3 months and above at one a day and 50 days at two a day. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more, at ₹1,499. A spray combo is 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating. These are the only usage figures SOSA gives.
  • The hanging - 4 to 6 weeks (28 to 42 days) of continuous diffusion per 12ml bottle, in refillable glass, and the stopper adjusts the strength: loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler.
  • Combos and the Discovery Set - four published pairs at ₹899 and ₹949, as a spray combo (2 x 10ml) or a hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. A note from Sonal

We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.

What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.

So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.

And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.

Frequently asked questions

Should the electric car and the petrol car have different fragrance?
No, not because one is electric. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim at all. Two cars in a household often do want different formats, but the reason is that they have different jobs: different occupied hours, different numbers of passengers, different parking. Swap the jobs over and the recommendations swap with them.
What suits a car used only for short commutes and grocery runs?
A format you switch on, most of the time. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is 3 months and above at one a day or 50 days at two, and it puts fragrance into the car only in the short windows when somebody is in it. The 12ml hanging costs the same and runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously, which in a car parked most of the day means most of its output happens with nobody there.
Is a combo a good way to do two cars at once?
It is two bottles for one price, which is convenient. Be clear about what is published, though: a spray combo is two 10ml bottles and 200 sprays, stated as 100 days at two a day rotating, and a hanging combo is 4 to 6 weeks per bottle or 8 to 12 weeks alternating. Those figures describe rotating two scents. Keeping one bottle in each car is your own arrangement, and SOSA publishes nothing about that use.
Should the family car get the stronger option for long journeys?
It gets the more occupied hours and the most passengers, so it is the car where a setting matters more than a dose. The hanging is the only format with a published intensity control, a stopper that loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler, set once before you leave. Beyond that, SOSA publishes no guidance on passengers and no scent-throw figure, so the rest is your own judgement.
Can I use the same scent in both cars?
Yes, and it costs the same either way, because the spray and the hanging are the same price for the same scent. Some people prefer the two cars to smell alike so the household is consistent, and others prefer the second car to be distinct. One thing to check first: Mysore Orange Blossom at Rs 549 is spray only, so it cannot be the hanging in whichever car you wanted that format for.

What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
