Does placement matter more now? Yes. At 250 sq ft a central, raised position and continuous mist make the difference between even scent and a faint far corner.
When should I consider the Vaayu? If the 250 sq ft is open-plan or double-height. For an enclosed box it is Sukoon; open or tall and you are at the threshold for the Vaayu.
2. Dose 5–6 drops. Toward the top of the everyday range, because the room is at the top of the Sukoon's range.
3. Run continuous mist. A room this size holds even scent better on continuous than on intermittent output.
4. Centre it and raise it. A central side table off the floor lets the mist reach all four corners of a 250 sq ft box.
5. Reassess if it is open or tall. An open-plan or double-height 250 sq ft is where the waterless Vaayu starts to make sense.

Why 250 sq ft is the upper edge of one Sukoon
Sukoon · the diffuser₹1,799 The honest coverage figure for a Sukoon is an enclosed room up to roughly 200–250 sq ft at a normal ceiling — and 250 sq ft is the top of that. At this size a single unit still works well, but you no longer have the slack you had at 150 or 200 sq ft. The mist reaches the far corners, but only if the diffuser is placed to help it. This is the size where a well-chosen spot and a slightly fuller dose stop being nice-to-haves and start being the difference between even and patchy.
Sukoon · the diffuser₹1,799 Because the room is at the top of the Sukoon's range, dose toward the upper end — 5–6 drops in a full 500ml tank — and favour continuous mist over intermittent. A bigger room needs a steadier output to stay evenly scented; the 10s on/off mode can leave the far side reading faint. Continuous does draw the tank down a little faster, but 500ml still comfortably carries an evening. Judge the result on first walking in, when your nose is fresh.
Vaayu · large room₹11,999 250 sq ft is the point where I start asking about the ceiling and the walls. Enclosed and normal-height? One Sukoon. But if the room is open-plan, or the ceiling soars to double height, the volume balloons past what ultrasonic throw can fill, and the honest fix is the waterless Vaayu (₹11,999, up to 1000m³). Do not try to brute-force an open 250 sq ft with extra drops — you will get a heavy pocket near the machine and faint air across the room.
Why placement carries more weight at 250 sq ft
At 150 sq ft you could put the Sukoon almost anywhere and the room would scent evenly. At 250 sq ft that latitude narrows. Ultrasonic mist is cool and has limited throw, so a diffuser shoved into a corner of a 250 sq ft room will scent that corner beautifully and leave the opposite end faint. The single most effective thing you can do at this size is move the unit to a central side table, raised off the floor, in the room's natural airflow.
Air-conditioning genuinely helps here. A ceiling fan on low or an AC on a gentle setting circulates the scented mist across the whole room, effectively extending the Sukoon's reach — so an AC'd 250 sq ft room often scents more evenly than a still one, and may even need a drop fewer. If, after centring the unit and running continuous mist, the far side still reads faint, that is your signal the room is behaving larger than 250 sq ft — usually because it is open — and the Vaayu is the real answer.
250 sq ft, unit by unit
At 250 sq ft the shape and height of the room, not just the floor area, decide between a Sukoon and a Vaayu.

Frequently asked questions
Facts verified August 2026: An ultrasonic diffuser disperses a water-based fragrance as a cool micro-mist, scenting a room without heat or flame and adding a little humidity. Great hotels use commercial HVAC scenting to create a signature smell; at home the same effect comes from a diffuser plus a hotel-inspired blend. SOSA Sukoon is a 500ml ultrasonic cool-mist diffuser with a 7-colour mood light (₹1,799); Boond is a 300ml mini ultrasonic diffuser (₹799); both run the water-based Hotel Collection fragrance. The Hotel Collection comes in seven scents (Ritz-Carlton, Westin, 1 Hotels, St. Regis, Shangri-La, Four Seasons and W Hotels styles) in 15ml (₹299), 100ml (₹999) and 300ml (₹1,799), plus 15ml Pack of 7 (₹1,799); dose 3-6 drops per tank, use SOSA diffuser fragrance only (not raw essential/carrier oils), and rinse between scents. For large, open-plan or high-humidity spaces the waterless SOSA Vaayu (₹11,999, up to 1000m³) adds no humidity; the Aangan (₹25,999) is a whole-home HVAC system.
