Founder Diaries · Car Perfumes, Parking & How a Car Is Actually Used
By Sonal Sahani · ISIPCA Versailles 10 min read Updated September 2026
This is the one question in the cluster that answers itself with division. A 10ml SOSA spray holds 100 sprays. That is published, and so is the working: 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day. Now count your own journeys. A car that has become the easy option for the milk, the school gate, the chemist and a parcel is not doing two trips a day, it is doing four or five - and a press before each of them is not a habit the published figures were describing. Nothing goes wrong with the product in that case. The bottle simply keeps an honest record of a decision you never consciously made, and it reports it at the end of the month rather than at the moment of spraying.
SOSA car perfume, spray or hanging, from Rs 449
SOSA car perfume · spray or hanging, same price · nine scents from ₹449 →
The decision behind almost every version of this question, and it is not about the car: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and published at 100 sprays - three months and more at one a day, fifty days at two. The 12ml hanging is the same price, published at 4 to 6 weeks, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. Nothing here changes with the powertrain.
Quick answers — read this first
Do more short journeys mean you should spray more often? Not automatically, and the arithmetic is worth seeing first. A 10ml SOSA spray is ₹449 to ₹549 and holds 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one a day. Pressing it before each of four errands is a different rate entirely, and it empties the same bottle in under a month. That is a choice rather than a fault, but it should be a choice you made.

Is repeated spraying in one day doing anything useful? You are adding to a cabin that already has the earlier press in it, because fragrance adds a scent and does not remove one. The second and third presses of a morning are layered onto the first rather than replacing it. Your passenger is a better judge of the result than you are, and the bottle going down quickly is the measurable signal.

Which format ignores how many trips you make? The hanging. A 12ml hanging is the same price as the spray for the same scent, runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in refillable glass, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. Two journeys a day or ten, the bottle life is the same, which is a real argument for somebody whose trip count has just gone up.
The short answer
Short answer: Yes, be careful, and the reason is division rather than caution. A SOSA 10ml spray is Rs 449 to Rs 549 and holds 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one spray a day or 50 days at two a day. Four errands with a press before each empties the same bottle in under a month. Spray on a schedule rather than per journey, or use the hanging, whose 4 to 6 weeks does not care how many trips you make.
The pick: A 10ml SOSA car perfume spray, ₹449 to ₹549 - 100 sprays, used once a day at a fixed moment rather than once per errand, which is the difference between a season and a few weeks.
Why: The published count turns a vague worry into arithmetic: the same bottle is three months or under a month depending only on whether you spray by the day or by the journey.
What the car runs on is not the variable. How it is used is.On demand - 10ml spray ₹449 to ₹549, published at 100 spraysContinuous - 12ml hanging, same price, 4 to 6 weeksVentilate a hot or long-shut cabin before you judge itNever - fragrance instead of finding a smell's source
A car spends most of its life empty. The hours that matter are the ones somebody is sitting in it, and on a typical commute that is one or two out of twenty-four. The useful decision is therefore not which product lasts longest while nobody is there - it is whether you want fragrance you switch on or fragrance that simply runs. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays, which is three months at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks and its stopper loosens for more or tightens for less. Nothing here depends on what is under the bonnet.
Straight answer
My electric car is driven more frequently for tiny errands because running short local trips feels convenient. Should multiple short journeys make me more careful about unnecessary repeated spraying?
Yes, and you can settle it with one number rather than with willpower. A SOSA 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays - the pages give the working as 3 months and above at one spray a day, or 50 days at two a day - and it costs ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze, and ₹549 for Mysore Orange Blossom. Now put your own rate into it. Somebody making four short journeys a day and pressing the bottle before each one is using four sprays a day, which turns a hundred into a little under four weeks. That is not the product failing to last. It is the same product, measured against a habit four times denser than the one the published figures describe. The fix is not to spray less than you want. It is to spray by the day rather than by the journey. One press as you first get in, and the fifth errand of the afternoon inherits it. There is a second reason to prefer that, and it is about what repeated pressing actually does. Fragrance adds a scent to the air in a cabin. It does not remove one, it does not neutralise one and it does not mask one, so the third press of the day is laid on top of the first two rather than replacing them. You are the worst-placed person to judge the result, since you have been in and out of that cabin all morning - a passenger will tell you in about four seconds what you have stopped registering, and the bottle emptying faster than you expected is the other honest signal. Two things this is not about. It is not about the car being electric: SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and no powertrain claim, and a short errand is a short errand in any car. And it is not about trip length changing how a fragrance behaves, which is not published either. If you would rather the trip count stopped mattering altogether, the 12ml hanging is the same price for the same scent, runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass, and is adjusted at the stopper. A portion of every SOSA order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.
Spray by the day, not by the journey. One hundred sprays divides very differently depending on which you choose.
The arithmetic in one line: a 10ml spray at ₹449 to ₹549 holds 100 sprays, which is three months and above at one a day and under a month at four. The 12ml hanging is the same price, runs 4 to 6 weeks and does not care how many journeys you make. The 50ml at ₹1,499 is 500 sprays, for a rate you have already proved.
SOSA car perfumes from ₹449

Three things more journeys change, and two of them are arithmetic

More journeys change three things, and it is worth knowing which of them a fragrance decision can actually act on. Two are arithmetic and one is about who is judging.

01
The division
The same bottle is a season or a few weeks, depending only on your rate
100 sprays in a 10ml. The published working is 3 months and above at one spray a day and 50 days at two a day, and the rest is yours to calculate. One press each morning, five days a week, is a bottle that runs most of a season. Four errands a day with a press before each is four sprays a day, and the same hundred does not see the end of the month. Neither of those is wrong and neither is a defect. But only one of them matches what most buyers have in their head when they read the number on the page, and the gap between the two is entirely created by a habit that formed without a decision.
Tip: It is not a preference. It is division, and it is the most useful fact in the range.
02
Layering, not replacing
The afternoon press is added to the morning one
Worth being precise about, because the instinct behind repeated spraying is usually corrective. A fragrance adds a scent to the air in a cabin. It does not remove one, neutralise one or mask one. So pressing again at lunchtime does not reset the cabin to zero and start over; it puts more into a space that still has the morning in it. In a car making five short trips the doors are opening constantly, which moves air about, and that is a genuine variable - but it is a ventilation point, not a reason to press again. If the cabin is not right, the window is the tool. The bottle is for when you want it to smell of something.
03
Who is judging
You are in and out of that cabin all day, which makes you the worst witness
Nothing physiological is claimed here and none is needed. The plain observation is that somebody who gets into a car six times before lunch has no fresh reference point, and every judgement about whether it needs more is being made by the person least placed to make it. Two instruments are better. The first is a passenger - somebody who does not live in that cabin will say something within seconds, and what they say is more reliable than your own impression. The second is the count. If a 100-spray bottle is going down faster than one a day, the habit has already answered the question, whatever your nose is reporting.
Tip: Your passenger notices what you stopped noticing weeks ago.
SOSA Mysore Orange Blossom car perfume spray, 10ml and 50ml
The one number that settles most of this
A 10ml spray is 100 sprays. The rest is division.
SOSA publishes the count on the bottle: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, and the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The pages state the working too - three months and above at one spray a day, and fifty days at two a day. That turns a vague question into an arithmetic one. Spray before every journey and somebody making four short trips a day is out of a 10ml in about twenty-five days; the same bottle in the hands of somebody who sprays once each morning lasts the published three months. Neither is wrong - but only one of them is what the person expected when they bought it. Work out your own number before you decide the product is not lasting, because a hundred sprays is a hundred sprays regardless of how the car is powered.

Work it out in this order
Turn the worry into arithmetic in four steps
  1. Count the journeys the car now makes in a day. Be honest about the small ones.
  2. Multiply by the presses you would make. Four a day empties 100 sprays in weeks.
  3. Move to one press a day at a fixed moment and let later trips inherit it.
  4. If the trip count should not matter at all, buy the hanging at the same price.
The SOSA principle
Convenience did not change what the fragrance does. It multiplied the number of moments in which you might press the bottle, and a hundred divides quickly at four a day.
Which is why the recommendation here is a schedule rather than a stronger scent or a bigger bottle.

Which format stops caring how many trips you make

If you are moving to one press a day, it is worth picking something you are happy to have as the car's single decision. The deeper scents hold a cabin through a sequence of short trips: Sandalwood at ₹479, Vetiver at ₹509 and Oud at ₹509, Oud published as the deepest of the nine. The bright ones are easier to live with when the doors are constantly opening: Lemon at ₹499, Icy Mint at ₹489 and Sea Breeze at ₹509. The softest, for a car with children going in and out of it all day, are Jasmine at ₹449 and Lavender at ₹479. Mysore Orange Blossom at ₹549 is spray only and has no refill.

The SOSA gift edit
Four ways to handle a car that now makes five journeys a day
The option Who it suits, and where it fails
One press a day, at a fixed moment The published 3 months and above from a 100-spray bottle, and every later errand inherits the morning. It fails if the first journey of the day is at six and the one that matters is at eight in the evening.
A press before every journey Honest about what you want, and expensive in a way nobody warns you about: four a day turns 100 sprays into under a month. It fails as a default rather than as a choice - make it deliberately or not at all.
A 12ml hanging, the same price 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion per bottle, with the stopper to adjust it, and the trip count stops mattering entirely. It fails if you want particular journeys to be unscented, because it cannot be switched off.
The 50ml spray at ₹1,499 500 sprays and about a year and more, which suits a genuinely high rate. It fails if you have not yet fixed the habit - there is no spray refill, so this commits a year of fragrance to a routine still forming.
SOSA Lavender car perfume, spray and hanging formats
The format choice, and why price does not decide it
Spray or hanging - the same price, scent for scent
This is the unusual part of the SOSA car range and it makes the decision cleaner than it usually is: the spray and the hanging cost the same for any given scent - ₹449 for Jasmine, ₹479 for Lavender and Sandalwood, ₹489 for Icy Mint, ₹499 for Lemon, ₹509 for Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze. So you are not trading money against convenience; you are choosing between fragrance you decide to have and fragrance that is simply there. The spray is 100 sprays in 10ml and you control every one of them. The hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks in refillable glass and asks nothing of you, and its stopper is the strength control - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler. One further practical difference that decides it for some people: 15ml refills exist for the hanging and there is no spray refill at all.
See SOSA car perfumes from ₹449 →

Three published details that matter more than usual to a high-frequency driver. One spray covers the cabin, so the correct dose is a single press and a second is an addition rather than a correction. The hanging is refillable glass with 15ml refills at ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents, and there is no spray refill, so a heavy spray habit means replacing bottles rather than topping them up. And the whole range is alcohol-free, phthalate-free, paraben-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated and tested for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent relative humidity - a statement about the formula, not a claim about how it performs from one season to the next.

The premise worth rejecting before anything else
A fragrance does not know what is turning the wheels.
There is no petrol product, no diesel product and no electric product in the SOSA range, and SOSA publishes nothing whatsoever about powertrain - because a perfume in a closed cabin behaves the same way whether that cabin is being pushed along by a battery or an engine. What genuinely differs between two owners is everything else: where the car is parked and for how long, how many separate journeys it makes in a day, how many of those hours anybody is actually inside it, whether the windows are open, and who else is in the car. Those are real variables and they change the answer completely. The published figures speak to them directly: a 10ml spray is 100 sprays, which is three months and more at one a day and fifty days at two; a 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks continuously with a stopper that loosens for more and tightens for less; the 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. So when two people with identical cars need different answers, it is never because one of them is electric.

The SOSA gifting range

Two questions settle almost every car fragrance decision, and neither of them is what the car runs on. How many hours a day is somebody actually sitting in it? A 25 km commute is about an hour; a field job can be four. That number decides how much of what you buy is experienced by anybody at all, because the rest of the day is a sealed cabin in a parking bay. Then: do you want fragrance you switch on, or fragrance that simply runs? The 10ml spray holds 100 sprays and does nothing until you press it; the 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks whether anybody is there or not, and its stopper loosens for stronger or tightens for subtler. They cost the same for the same scent, so price does not decide it - which is unusual, and useful.

Product What it is What it is for Price
SOSA car perfume spray - 10ml Fragrance you switch on ₹449 to ₹549 across nine scents. Published at 100 sprays - 3 months and above at one a day, 50 days at two a day. A fine-mist atomizer; one spray covers the cabin from ₹449
SOSA car hanging - 12ml Fragrance that simply runs The same price as the spray, scent for scent. Published at 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion in a refillable glass bottle, and the stopper adjusts it - loosen for stronger, tighten for subtler from ₹449
SOSA car perfume spray - 50ml The long-run size ₹1,499, published at 500 sprays and about a year and more. The honest size when you already know the routine, and the wrong one while you are still working it out ₹1,499
Car perfume combos Two scents, one purchase ₹899 for Jasmine & Lemon or Jasmine & Lavender; ₹949 for Oud + Lemon or Sandalwood & Oud. Spray combo (2 x 10ml) or hanging combo (2 x 12ml) at the same price. Four published pairs from ₹899
Car Perfume Sprays Discovery Set Three to try ₹699 to ₹899 for three sprays, or ₹2,999 for all nine. Nine published combinations, and those nine are the whole range - none is composed to order from ₹699
Hanging refills - 15ml Only the hanging refills ₹399 to ₹449 across eight scents. There is no spray refill, and Orange Blossom has no refill at all - so if refilling matters, that decides the format for you from ₹399
SOSA Safar The powered option ₹3,999, or ₹4,499 for the hotel-inspired sets. A different category from a spray or a hanging, and listed here so you can rule it in or out rather than wonder from ₹3,999

The fact that answers most of these questions is a division sum. A 10ml spray is published at 100 sprays. Somebody who sprays before each of four short daily trips empties it in about twenty-five days; somebody who sprays once a day gets the published three months and more. The 50ml is 500 sprays and about a year and more. The 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks instead, continuously, and its stopper adjusts the strength - loosen for more, tighten for less. Spray and hanging are the same price scent for scent, so the choice is genuinely about how you want to use the car rather than what you want to spend. Everything is alcohol-free, phthalate-free and IFRA-compliant, formulated for 45 degrees C heat and 85 per cent humidity, made in India. Fragrance adds a scent to a cabin; it does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour and it does not clean the air - so a car that has developed a smell is a question about the car, not about the perfume. Prices above are published retail prices; bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available, with quantities settled on WhatsApp at +91 96192 18531. SOSA is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, sending orders across India. A portion of every order supports girl-child education through Nanhi Kali.

What the SOSA car pages publish, and what they do not
Everything below is on the live product pages. Anything not on this list is not something a page like this should state.
  • Nine scents, two formats, one price each - Jasmine ₹449; Lavender and Sandalwood ₹479; Icy Mint ₹489; Lemon ₹499; Oud, Vetiver and Sea Breeze ₹509. Each is sold as a spray or a hanging at the same price. Mysore Orange Blossom is ₹549 and is spray only.

A note from Sonal

We get asked which car perfume is right for an electric car, and I have never been able to give the answer the question wants. There isn't one. A fragrance sits in a closed box of air with a person in it, and that box does not behave differently because the thing moving it is a battery. If anyone tells you otherwise they are selling you a category, not a product.

What I can tell you is what actually changes between two owners, because it is not subtle. One car is occupied ninety minutes a day and another is occupied six. One sits in a basement and one bakes outdoors for nine hours. One has the windows down for the first ten minutes of every drive and one never opens them at all. One is driven by three people who want three different things from it. Those differences are enormous, and none of them is on the spec sheet of the car.

So the numbers I would want you to hold on to are the ones about use rather than about chemistry. A 10ml spray is a hundred sprays. That is three months if you spray once a day and about fifty days if you spray twice, and if you spray before every one of four short errands it is gone in under a month. The hanging runs four to six weeks and you can loosen or tighten the stopper to change it. Those two facts settle more of these questions than anything I could tell you about the car.

And the part I will not pretend about: a perfume cannot fix a smell. It adds a scent, it does not remove one. If a car has started smelling of something it did not smell of before, that is a question about the car - the air-conditioning, the mats, something in the boot, water that got in during the monsoon - and adding fragrance on top of it is the one thing I would ask you not to do.

Frequently asked questions

Should I spray before every short trip?
Only if you decide to, knowing what it costs. A 10ml holds 100 sprays, published as 3 months and above at one spray a day or 50 days at two a day. Four journeys a day with a press before each is four sprays a day, which empties the same bottle in under a month. Spraying by the day rather than by the journey is the usual fix.
Does spraying again later in the day refresh the cabin?
It adds to it. Fragrance adds a scent to the air and does not remove, neutralise or mask what is already there, so a second press sits on top of the first rather than resetting it. If the cabin is not right, ventilation is the tool for that, and a window on the next drive is free.
How do I know whether I am overdoing it?
Two signals, and neither is your own nose, which has been in and out of that car all day. Ask a passenger, who will tell you within seconds what you have stopped registering. And watch the count: a 100-spray bottle going down faster than one a day has already answered the question.
Does an electric car used for lots of short trips need a different approach?
No, not because of the powertrain. SOSA publishes no petrol, diesel or electric product and makes no powertrain claim at all. What genuinely changed is the number of journeys and the number of times the doors open, and that would be identical in a petrol car used the same way.
Is the hanging better for somebody making a lot of journeys?
It is a strong argument. A 12ml hanging runs 4 to 6 weeks of continuous diffusion per bottle in refillable glass, adjusted at the stopper, and it costs the same as the spray for the same scent. Whether the car makes two journeys a day or ten, the bottle life is unchanged, which removes the trip count from the decision entirely.

What is not published, and is therefore not stated here: any difference in fragrance behaviour between petrol, diesel and electric vehicles - SOSA makes no powertrain-specific product and no powertrain claim; any cabin-volume, coverage, scent-throw, projection or evaporation figure; any claim about how a scent is perceived over hours or about sensory adaptation; any seasonal performance claim beyond the stated formulation for heat and humidity; any shelf life, expiry or concentration; and any bulk rate, minimum quantity, price break or lead time. Limits of this guide: fragrance adds a scent to a cabin. It does not remove, neutralise, mask or purify an odour, it does not clean the air, and a car that has developed a new smell is a question about the vehicle rather than about perfume. No health claim is made anywhere on this page, in either direction - nothing here states or implies that any fragrance causes or prevents a headache, nausea, motion sickness or any other effect, and nothing is said about safety in pregnancy or for children or the elderly, because SOSA publishes no information this page can rely on. No third-party brand is named and no competitor or category of competing product is characterised. No rating, review count, strength percentage or customer name from any product page is cited. Bulk orders are welcome and custom label or logo on product is available; that is the only branding option, and quantities are settled on WhatsApp. SOSA Home & Body is an Indian fragrance house based in Pune, Maharashtra, sending orders across India, with no shop, showroom, stockist, counter or warehouse in any other city. Prices and availability are subject to change - see the live product pages.
